The Pregnant Man

This is so weird I just can't leave it alone (Gemini Rising with Mercury conjunct Uranus in Leo). I don't have his birth date, but Thomas Beatie is a transgender Man who decided to let up on his hormones just long enough to get pregnant. He used to be a Lesbian and started taking hormones and having surgeries to become a Man when he was 24. He obviously didn't have the complete treatment because he's still got his uterus. Beatie and his girlfriend wanted to get married and couldn't because they were the same sex. They did marry 5 years ago after Beatie's beard grew in.

The current pregnancy is Beatie's 2d pregnancy and he claims to be 6 months along. At least that's what he told Oprah and after James Frey I don't think anyone would dare lie to Oprah. Anyway, Oprah had Beatie get a sonogram in order to show us all that he's not just joshin. This is real. And it's weird as Hell. I guess the baby will be a girl, unless her parents decide to change her sex while she's still in the womb for some reason that I'm sure they could dream up. Beatie told Oprah that he will call his daughter "Daddy's Little Princess" unless, of course, he turns back into a Mommy. His wife already has two kids from a previous marriage.

Beatie is supposedly 34 years old. This means that his Jupiter is in either Capricorn or Aquarius. Saturn is in either Leo or Cancer. Beatie's Uranus will be in Libra, Neptune in Sagittarius, Pluto in Libra. There was a Saturn-Pluto opposition during 1973-74 which Beatie may be dealing with. Didn't Alfred Hitchcock have a Saturn-Pluto opposition in his chart? Anyway, during 1973-74, Pluto was at the first degrees of Libra so Beatie is going through his Pluto square. This is such a different aspect for people of this generation than it was for people 2 and 3 generations ago who had their Pluto squares as extended versions of mid-life crises.

Anyway, I read that the baby is expected in July around the 3d. This will be a new Moon in Cancer. That certainly indicates a strong seed and birth story and is definitely a signature for the Mother figures in one's life. Venus will also be in Cancer. I personally hope this kid comes early when the Sun is in Gemini so she'll be able to detach emotionally from her parents.

Pluto will have just moved Retrograde back into Sagittarius at 30 degrees. What seems significant for this point in time is the fact that Chiron and Neptune will be in conjunction with the North Node in Aquarius. This certainly shows the man-made, eccentric, and high tech qualities of the birth that are stretching people's ideas of what human beings are capable of. If some humans have to take off in a space capsule once Global Warming has destroyed the Earth it will be very useful to know that human hormones can be manipulated so easily and to have a sense of what can go wrong, if anything. Chiron is the Teacher/Healer who couldn't heal his own wound which could have negative indications but in astrology his orbit is between old timer Saturn and new timer Uranus so he's often associated with hybrids.
