Asthma in Children According to Time, Place and Style of Birth

Yahoo just published a New York Times article on how babies born in the Fall are 30 percent more likely to get Asthma. Researchers haven't figured out why but nobody thinks that the answer could be attributed to Astrology. Go figure. There is discussion about how, in addition to time of year, place of birth and type of birth make a difference. Cesarean births are much more likely to develop Asthma. Don't deprive those little Scorpios of their first primal scream or all Hell will pay. Scorpio Mothers are probably more likely to have to have a Cesarean due to Uterine troubles. At any rate, Surgery is a Plutonian topic. Hey, I wonder if they're researching Pluto in Scorpio babies or Pluto in Sagittarius babies.... I know, I know, Astrology has nothing to do with it...

Interesting. Just throwing out some misc stuff here:

If it is seasonal related and not astrological, then different results would be expected in the southern hemisphere?

Meanwhile, all I can think of is that although fall technically begins Sep 21 in the Northern Hemisphere, the Scorp part of it is inconjunct Gemini? Fixed water vs mutable air?

Rulers of the Fall signs are Venus, Pluto (Mars), and Jupiter.
Pluto has been in Sag (opposite Gem) When was the study done? Could very well be due to a longer term astro trend and not just an annual passage of the Sun alone. I know Pluto/Gem combos are frequently implicated in pneumonia, another lung issue.

I've seen in many alternative medical systems that asthma is an emotional issue related to sadness.

Also spiritual people say that non-physical "impurity" comes into the being through the breath. If impurity is an issue, you can bet those little Scorpio babies have some related karmic issues when they come in. Whether that or the above or both are true or ties in with asthma is another story.

Thanks for the thoughtful comment, Anonymous. There's an explanation in the link of why the researchers think that Fall births are more common, I think they say it has to do with flu season and the pregnancy. I haven't read the study but I think the "Scorpio" part was just for entertainment value, but am not sure.

I've also read about the emotional connection between the lungs and emotions, especially grief. And I'd certainly say that Pluto is somehow involved with grief because it is such a deep and intense emotional state.

The connection with surgical births seems very obvious. The kid just hasn't decided to take his first breath. There could be so many other factors, especially environmental (loss of light) or when pesticides are sprayed.

I also wonder if this is just a current trend or if it's always been connected with Fall births. I was born in Summer and had asthma as a kid, connected with parents who smoked 3 packs a day each. I tend to think it's an environmental problem mostly because kids in low income housing commonly get it now. Those buildings are toxic waste dumps at this point. Hahah, toxic waste brings us back to Pluto.
