Don't Open the Drapes!

What's the Astrological Chart look like for a Guy who not only inherits a Castle, but a Castle so, er, Romantic, it inspired a story about the most famous Vampire in the World? Today's News includes a story about the guy who inherited Dracula's Castle in Romania. His name is Archduke Dominic von Habsburg, an Architect living in New York. Von Habsburg inherited the Castle in May, 2006, and kindly announced that he would keep it up and running as a Tourist Attraction until 2009. He has announced that it is now officially up For Sale.

Von Habsburg is a Sun in Cancer so, of course his "Home is his Castle." But, I thought, Wow, this guy had better have a Scorpio Moon! (Vampires; Inheritances; Home). Well, that wasn't exactly the case ... but it wasn't that far off, the Stars actually get pretty imaginative here. The Duke's Moon is in the opposite sign of Taurus. But it opposes Mars in Scorpio and expands its Bat Wings out into a Kite with Jupiter and Neptune on either side. The Moon in the noontime chart is conjunct Uranus (Eccentricities and the circulatory system of the body) and Venus (Love). All three are in the sign that rules the Neck and are opposite Scorpionic Mars (Bites). And, get this, the guy's got no planets in Air.... How great is that for Coffin Living?

Archduke Dominic von Habsburg

b. Jul. 4, 1937 Hollabrunn, Austria

Sun 13 Cancer; Moon probably in Taurus; NN 15 Sagittarius

When von Habsburg inherited Dracula's Lair, transiting Jupiter was conjunct natal Mars in Scorpio and his progressed Sun was conjunct his natal Neptune. That sets off his Vampire Kite quite nicely, don't you think? (His prog. Mars was on his NN squaring his n. Neptune and Prog. Sun -- apparently lots of transits and progressions are required in order to inherit a castle).

Unfortunately, t.North Node was conjunct his natal Saturn in Aries which squares his natal Sun-Mercury and apparently the Castle is too much of a Burden for him to keep up.
