"Boots" Is Walking

The San Jose Mercury News is skewering a local Silicon Valley Financier/Socialite who is currently charged with bilking some investors out of $3 million. The paper gave his Birth Date and some aspects of his biography so I had to take a look. Everyone in Northern California is a frigging liar but almost nobody ever gets caught, so it's really odd to see such a Spectacle. Normally these kinds of crimes are East Coast. The article is a lot of fun. Because this guy,, whose nickname is "Boots" after his Grandfather is a 3d generation Californian from a wealthy family we get kind of a Dallas meets Grapes of Wrath type of story in the paper. Born with Golden Spoon in Mouth, Business with Daddy, Midas Touch, Breaks out on Own and even more Success, Mansion with 3 gates, Blond Bombshell wife, buys Sports Teams, Jets around World.

With natal Sun in Cancer and the Nodes on the Taurus/Scorpio Axis one can instantly see the need for Security and interest in Money and Investing. If the Moon is in Leo this is further emphasized. From the looks of his Glittering wife I'd say he's got a Leo Moon.

I almost never get around to looking at Solar Arcs in a chart but they are extremely interesting in Boots' chart.

The Mercury article says that Boots rose to prominence in 1994 when he was only 25 by starting a bank with his Father that catered to small businesses who were otherwise overlooked by bigger banks. He seemed to have a Midas Touch with this business. Natally, Boots has Jupiter in Leo at 10 Leo. His Solar Arc Sun-Mercury conjunction was passing over it just around this time. Leo is one of the resource houses that rules Risk taking and Jupiter lends Luck and Expansion to whatever it touches.

SA Jupiter was also just passing over natal Venus in Virgo. As Venus rules Money in the chart and also his North Node in Taurus (Banking) this is also a very positive aspect. A third whammy explaining the success with money is that N. Venus (money) actually trines Boots' North Node in Taurus (banking, money), also very beneficial.

Boots got married in 1995 and has had 3 children with his wife. He left the bank and started an Investment Fund company on his own in 1997. Solar Arc Venus moved into Libra which it rules. Libra rules Marriage & Partnerships. 1 Libra is an Aries Point which brings a person into the limelight. He and his Wife were noted socialites.

Natally Boots has the mid-60s conjunction of Uranus & Pluto at 19-22 Virgo. In 1997 this was squaring his natal Sun-Mercury Rx conjunction. The build up to this could explain his need to break away from his Father. Uranus rules Rebellion and Pluto rules Power and in the Square Aspect to the Sun these two planets would "challenge" his Ego. And also they challenged his Mercury which is Retrograde showing that his thinking is probably not always as clear as it ought to be.

Another area of concern would be that natally Boots has Mars conjunct the South Node in Scorpio. His impulsiveness and early success may pose some problems for him, especially in relation to Scorpio type subjects, of which Investing is a strong factor. (Should have stuck with Banking, sign of his North node). If he were to get into a tight spot he might pull some stunts and the banking business is certainly under a lot of pressure these days. Also, SA Mars was just past conjunction with natal Neptune in Scorpio at this point. Actually this was in place from earlier on. It gives a lot of charisma to an individual. And sometimes can make a person want to see how much he can get away with. Boots lived in luxury with his family in a Mansion and gave money away to all kinds of charities. His interests were veering towards Sports as he was buying some teams.

Transit wise, Boots is going through his Uranus opposition (which includes Pluto because of the natal conjunction) and his Neptune Square. This is the beginning of the mid-life crisis. The Pluto square was 2002-5, extra long because of the involvement with Uranus.

Interesting that he got caught during a Mercury Retrograde. Seems appropriate with a name like "Boots" and its Mercurial affinity with Walking. As a matter of fact, the Sun-Mercury Rx-Venus conjunction that's occuring in the sky as all of this broke out is conjunct Boots' Solar Arc North Node which is at 13 Gemini this year. He's going through another Jupiter transit as t. Jupiter in Capricorn is opposing his natal Sun-Mercury conjunction in Cancer. He is seen to be humiliating his wealthy established family. His marriage has broken up.

This also shows his interests in turning to the Sports business. Especially since Solar Arc Jupiter is conjunct natal Pluto-Uranus. I wouldn't have looked at these aspects and thought they were bad, maybe just over stimulating. I wonder if Boots may get lucky and wiggle out of this situation.

Boots is going through multiple other Big Klunker Aspects right now. First, Natal Chiron (wounding) is at 30 Pisces. This is an Aries Point which brings his wounds to the limelight. As Chiron also bestows Teaching Wisdom it may also be responsible for his inherent skills at Investing. Currently, however, Chiron is being squared by SA Neptune and t. Pluto both from the Capricorn Aries Point. Wanted or not, that spells out more limelight. Noel Tyl has described the Neptune-Pluto combination as "Ego Wipe Out." I think that Chiron is often involved when one gets "caught."

There's another Significant Arc: Solar Arc Pluto-Uranus are conjunct Boots' natal Mars-South Node conjunction. With the South Node representing one's darker side and placed in the sign Scorpio which is already known for its dark side, Boots is really getting a 1-2-3 Rich Kid punch from that Mars-Uranus-Pluto combination. He's overworked all his boundaries during all the Jupiter-Neptune transits and now is paying the price.
