Italian Earthquake Was Predicted by Seismologist
Astrologers can relax. Even when Scientists make accurate predictions nobody believes them. In the end, Humanity can't handle the idea a disaster happening in the future. Kind of an interesting topic. Anyway, Giocchino Giulini, a seismologist from l'Avila, Italy, the town that is suffering large deaths and losses from today's earthquake (it's still Monday from where I'm writing) predicted a few weeks ago that there would be a major earthquake in the area.

I send prayers to the people who were affected by this earthquake.
Other Scientists scoffed at him for lack of scientific proof and the townspeople accused him of causing widespread panic because a van drove through the town announcing the prediction. (In truth, I think I would rather hear this kind of bad news from Oprah or Dr. Phil, they just have a way of delivering the heavy stuff. I suppose a loudspeaker on a van generally annoys me no matter what but, then again, I'm not Italian.)
Anyhoo, Giocchino Giuliani is with the National Institute of Astrophysics. He is now having to tell people that people can spend a lot of time later on going over the science, right now can we please keep on digging around for people stuck under the rubble? Smart dude. What's his sign?
I was trying to edit stuff for publishing last night and talked a little bit about the earthquake on the Ralphee Finn / Ray Merriman entry.
6.3 or 5.8 Earthquake L'Aquila, Italy, about 70 or so miles North of Rome
Apr. 6, 2009 3:32 am L'Aquila, Italy
The chart didn't look good to me because Aquarius and Uranus weren't on the angles. But maybe the part where there was a warning ahead of time really is indicated by the fact that Saturn was ruling the chart and Saturn rules Warnings. Pluto was in the 11th House of Hopes, Wishes, Innovation, Intuition. I think its so interesting that this is considered a "Resources" house in Astrology and so these types of "Ephemeral" (probably not the best word) topics are considered Resources in Astrological Wisdom. They are as important as the money you have in your pocket (H2) and the money that you can get out of others (H8) and your willingness to gamble on risky ventures with unknown outcomes (H5).
Mars hitting the Saturn/Uranus opposition and VenusRx in Aries squaring Pluto is a shoe-in set of transits for having an earthquake. But the placement in the houses for when the thing actually hit needs more study. Gawd, that Eclipse with Saturn, Urnaus and Pluto on Angles and the Jupiter-Neptune conjunction in Aquarius that will hit July 20-21 is looking pretty intense. I don't like the scare tactics stuff and hopefully small little problems will let off steam so that a big eruption doesn't take place.
This is a reminder that a Chinese Scientist did successfully predict an earthquake in China back in the 70s. I wrote about it somewhere on this blog. I seem to remember that a town of around a million people was evacuated but my memory isn't really all that great.
