World's First Synthetic Cell

The Genome guy, J.Craig Venter has succeeded now in creating the world's first manmade DNA (or, at least that's how I'm trying to understand it). What a great announcement for Science to make while there is a conjunction of Jupiter to Uranus in Pisces. This will hopefully lead to new forms of fuel, ways to clean polluted water, and even faster vaccines.

There's mention in the article that there is concern over how this new Frankenstein creation could be used for destructive purposes. The astrology shows that there is a need to feel concern over this. The Jupiter-Uranus conjunction is squaring Pluto and opposing Saturn. The Government (Saturn) is concerned about how much regulation is needed to keep this knowledge out of the hands of idiots. With Saturn and Pluto squaring each other this might be a legitimate concern.

When Saturn and Pluto work together they can show the kind of ruthless energy that is needed to fight pollution. But they can show plain old ruthlessness and a genuine need for strong guidance in the ethics department. Come to think of it I think that Venter has a Saturn-Pluto square in his natal chart.

Kind of a tough day for thinking about ethical issues. The announcement was made on the same day that Wall St. made its biggest crash of the year and a Paris Art Museum suffered one one of the biggest art heists of all time. The Moon was in conjunction with Mars (volatility) and opposing Neptune. And Venus was opposing Pluto (more volatility).

The Aries Point action is unbelievably interesting for bringing news out into the world about giving birth from out of nothing. Venus was at 1 Cancer yesterday. Think of the great Botticelli painting of Venus born out of nothing but foam. This was squaring Uranus 30 Pisces. That's the actual birth degree of the Astrological Wheel. Uranus rules human enlightenment and innovation.

Hmmm, I bet Venter would be a really great psychic if he weren't busy with all the rest of this stuff.

Links of 3 - Borromean Rings

This seems to be happening a lot for some reason. A thought from 40 years ago is just now being proven. Here's a really cool example from Science. Some Scientist theorized that Quantum Mechanics could prove that in a ring of three, if one ring falls apart, the other two will fall apart as well. It has to do with the energy of the number 515, or multiples thereof. And the article says that the idea was first theorized by Afghanistan Buddhists in the 2d century AD.

So I'm wondering if this is a Saturn-Uranus opposition thing in the signs of Virgo-Pisces. Makes sense that this combination would express itself through a combination of science and mysticism and numbers and the web of life. Rex Bills is out in the car, so I suppose I should look up what is thought to rule the number 3. Saturn?

Yow, well, I was wrong at least in part. I looked up to see what was going on outer planetary wise back in 2d century. It turns out that this is a Pluto thing. Pluto was passing from Virgo to Libra back in those days. This is a Libra AP thing which really makes sense since it studies the interrelatedness of everything.

When physicist Vitaly Efimov heard his theory had finally been proven, he ran up to the younger scientist who had verified it and gave him a high five.

Efimov had predicted a quantum-mechanical version of Borromean rings, a symbol that first showed up in Afghan Buddhist art from around the second century. The symbol depicts three rings linked together; if any ring were removed, they would all come apart.

Efimov theorized an analog to the rings using particles: Three particles (such as atoms or protons or even quarks) could be bound together in a stable state, even though any two of them could not bind without the third. The physicist first proposed the idea, based on a mathematical proof, in 1970. Since then, no one has been able to demonstrate the phenomenon in the lab - until recently.

A team of physicists led by Randy Hulet of Rice University in Houston finally achieved the trio of particles, and published their findings in the online journal Science Express.

Apples and Oranges

New Scientist magazine is this really cool science magazine that's written by people who are so entertaining they could write comic books, yet they choose to explain modern scientific breakthroughs. The April 18, 2009 issue has an article all about a couple of scientists who are assuming that there may be some sort of cyclic force field in the solar system. They think that this force field somehow affects the Sun's gravitational pull so that things will fall at different rates at different times of the year. Also, different things will be affected by the field differently. This creates a lack of symmetry in things.

Just a bunch of subtle forces (Scientists, imperialists that they are, see only one force called the "X-Field" and sort of see it as running in straight lines through the universe). We all know it's a bunch of planets orbiting the Sun in ellipses. They screw things up in a pretty regular fashion but also screw things up in an odd fashion because their orbits aren't perfectly circular and they are also spinning around the Sun and not the Earth. So we're looking at them from our Point of View.

And the black holes, I don't know what they're doing, but Philip Sedgwick does...

The article is called: Gravity's Seasons, Does an Apple Fall Faster in the Spring? Marcus Chown investigates." p. 28 - 31. Apr. 18, 2009. more at www.newscientist.com/topic/cosmology.

I won't mention the Scientists' names because I'm sure they wouldn't want to Google themselves to this blog, but I find what they are doing to be awesome incredible for the future of Astrology. Granted, I may be misinterpreting most of it.

From the article:
"'One way we might find evidence of the X-field is to look for small differences in gravity's power at different times of the year. 'Apples might fall at different rates in different seasons,' say (Awesome Anonymous Scientist Dude with Eastern European name), though he can't predict when apples might falls (sic) faster. 'It will be a cyclical effect.'"
Science Dude, I am so blowing you hugs and kisses right now.
"Another possibility that (Anonymous Scientist) and (his Assistant) raise is that the X-field affects different particles in different ways."
-- teehee, yeah you got your Jupiter field and your Mars field and when they square and the Moon hits them while Pluto rocks the North Node in Taurus, now that's the Gravitational pull, baby. It will hit the Tauruses and the Venusians more than the Virgos, though. Check it out.
