Bad Shot - U.S. Missile Test Failure

Vandenberg Airforce Base has reported that a target practice missile that was launched this afternoon from Central California and missed its target in the Pacific Ocean.

http://news.yahoo.com/s/ap/20100201/ap_on_re_us/us_missile_defense_test

The boo boo occurred Sunday afternoon and I can't tell if that's Marshall Islands' time or California time. Completely different charts.

Anyway, for the record, if anyone wants to look at a chart of a screw-up which is probably a good thing to study, this is the information I've got so far. I suppose the Sun-Mars Rx is a big issue in a chart that describes a missile intercept. A failed attempt might be indicated by Saturn, planet of over-achievement on the IC or bottom of the chart, especially since it's squaring Pluto on the Descendant.

A Sun-Mars Rx opposition might show a problem with the trigger but they say the reason for the mistake is said to be a problem with the radar. The Sun is conjunct Lilith. Don't know what that means really.

No mention of where the two missiles landed which really creeps me out.

Uranus is very close to the Midheaven in the launch time for the Marshall Islands, with Pluto on the Descendant and Saturn down in the 4th House. The planets are moved forward into the mutable houses if the Chart is used for the California time zone. Saturn is conjunct the IC in this chart.

Mercury rules the Marshall Island Launch Chart. Mercury is conjunct NN in Capricorn (H7). This brings in the Saturnian element again. In this chart the Moon is opposing Chiron-Neptune. Chiron, of course, can indicate all kinds of mistakes and things that don't work out.

Moon rules the Vandenberg Airforce Base launch chart. She is opposing Jupiter in Pisces for the California time zone chart.

Target missile launched from Kwajalein Atoll, Marshall Islands.

The Killer Missile that screwed up launched was launched from Central California somewhere, I used Vandenberg Airforce Base which I think is in Lompoc. It was launched shortly after the Target missile.

Gaffney Killer Caught (and Killed)

Officers in South Carolina managed to catch the Gaffney Killer about 30 miles away from the town he had been terrorizing for over a week. He was shot and killed as the Police tried to apprehend him. Police have identified him as 41-year old Patrick Burris. I already talked about the Gaffney Killings in a previous post and talked about how the town had also been victimized by a serial killer 40 years ago. So I was amazed to find that Burris was born the same year as the 1968 killings. I talked about how Uranus in Pisces right now is one degree opposition from the spot where it was in 1967-68 while it was passing through Virgo. According to Wikipedia, Burris was born a half a year after the last of the killings. This, means that he was born with a conjunction of Uranus to Pluto in Virgo in his natal chart.

Patrick Tracy Burris

b. Aug. 8, 1967 Place? (I used Gaffney)

Sun 16 Leo; Moon Virgo; NN 2 Taurus

Burris' chart has a conjunction of Sun-Jupiter at 16 Leo in his chart that squares his natal Mars and Neptune in Scorpio. The Sun-Mars aspect seems to come up in the charts of these shooters often. Of course, it doesn't mean that a person will become a killer. I suppose I would interpret it as meaning that a person with this aspect might enjoy expressing him or herself through the use of guns. Burris' Mars is in Scorpio which sometimes indicate a personality with deep turmoil that is difficult for an individual to express. Having these planets in connection with both Jupiter and Neptune shows a person with high ideals, who has an extreme need to feel happy and who could likely have a drug and alcohol problem. The Scorpio South Node can just deepen these problem as showing an unconscious tendency to lapse into these problems.

In addition, Burris may have had a conjunction of Moon with Pluto and Uranus which could indicate emotional volatility. If born early in the morning he could have a conjunction of Moon with Venus in Virgo. This can be a very insecure combination with regards to emotional expression and feelings of lovability. It could indicate that Burris' Mother was very critical of him and somehow felt martyred. Natal Saturn is Rx which doubles the possibility for this scenario. According to Noel Tyl, Saturn Rx could indicate that the Father wasn't around much or involved much in a person's upbringing.

Venus stationing Rx 15 minutes before Burris was born and so it was Rx during his whole lifetime. This is a pointer to feelings on not being loveable and not being populari. Venus has just Stationed Direct (by Progression) this year. Interesting that this is the year that Burris dies, among other things. Venus Stations can be very stressful points in a person's life perhaps because they are sensing the change associated with not feeling lovable for all that time. Interesting that Burris was a career criminal and was just let out of jail after 8 year incarceration. Prog. Venus had backed up into Leo and was conjunct prog. Jupiter. In combination with his natal Sun-Jupiter conjunction in Leo he was probably feeling way too high. He was probably binging on alcohol from the second he got out of jail. (Jupiter and Venus aspects can lead to excess).

Burris' chart pattern is called a "Sling." It's basically like a Bucket shape and I don't know if this is the same pattern, just different name. At any rate, the word "Sling" reminds me of Sling Shot, which is a weapon. Saturn here is the handle planet and Saturn is in the sign of Aries. Aries can indicate violence as it is considered most impulsive sign and controlling, disciplined Saturn is not well placed there. As I said Saturn is Retrograde in the natal chart which is another stressor. There is a slight chance that prog. Moon is in conjunction with it right now which would show depression and feelings of inferiority.

Monday's Stock Market - 4th Biggest Crash

On the old PBS show headed by Louis Rukeyser, I once remember hearing a financial analyst say that you have to organize a company so that a Monkey can run it -- because eventually a Monkey will run it. That's pretty much what's happened to America. The Shit has risen to the top. I sort of worry that this is the negative side of the Pluto in Leo generation putting on the Circus and the Pluto in Virgo Generation passively letting them do it. Hopefully, President Elect Obama will show a different side of what Pluto in Virgo can do. As anybody who's ever been to a Faith Healer (or Psychologist) knows, telling people to change is a waste of everybody's time and is much different from actually lighting the fires under people's asses. I always like working for Leo's, though, because they're good at this singular talent, the lighting of the whatsits, so Obama's got an Astrological advantage...

So, back to the theme of the Monkey House. The Stock Market suffered its 4th greatest loss ever on Monday. (Drop around 680 points). Chalk this up to the conjunction of Venus-Jupiter and the Moon. These are all planets that overdo. The local yarn store said that they had the best year ever so there really was shopping fervor. Knitters of America may be holding up the economy with their sheer compulsive shopping behaviors.

Astrologers usually think sweet nothing about this Venus-Jupiter-Moon combo. Har. The Drop doesn't seem like a big deal at this point because this is just old news. Financial experts sapping last bits in weird moves. The Market had risen a lot the week before in order to artificially get America out there shopping over the long Thanksgiving Week-end. This is to show faith in American Retail.

Right now, prudent Capricorn is rising in the Opening Bell Charts. That's a restrictive influence. Anyone who doesn't spend foolishly or at least knows how to stomp all over others in order to get what he/she wants in life, will fare much better than those who bulk up their credit cards.

Ruler of the chart Saturn is in the 8th House of Investments as the Market opens. That doubles the restrictive side and is just downright depressing. The opposition to unpredictable Uranus in the 2d house just showcases the erratic and unpredictable influences. Saturn and Uranus working together sort of know what they are doing. They want to keep things steely and dry-eyed. Interesting to see them working together in a sextile/trine with goopy, uncontrollable Moon-Venus-Jupiter in this way. It seems I keep hearing analysts say that the True Value of the Stock Market is around 8100 or 8200 points. It seems they all know this.

Pluto, ruler of Investments and Crises and all kinds of related stuff, is now up in the 12th House. On Monday he was unaspected by major aspects which he seems to be doing a whole lot these days. He's unaspected a lot these days. (That is about to end with a bang.)

The Interesting part about Monday's Fall was that the Recession was officially announced. (Sun conjunct Mercury and Mars in Sagittarius). Apparently the country has been in a Recession since last December. Interesting that this is when that nasty long-term opposition (almost 6 months?) from Mars to Pluto was. Mars has now come half circle and is about to pass over Pluto right on the Aries Point. This will happen the last couple of weeks this Month. The Sun will be in conjunction with Mars in Sagittarius. This will square the Saturn-Uranus opposition on/around December 14. Then the Sun and Mars will pass over into Capricorn and hit Pluto. And the Moon will be in conjunction with that set as well. This will happen on the 26th.

So, anyway, this upcoming Sun-Mars-Pluto thing on the first degree(s) of Capricorn could be a real drag. I wish I could put plugs in women's uteruses so that we don't have to live with all the little school shooters who will be born on this day. Or at least we could build special families to raise the kids so that they can be raised in controlled environments without too much stress, an emphasis on ethics, creativity, nutrition and exercise. Because this is a strong willed combination, sometimes a bit volatile, a lot of creativity and drive that needs to be focused.

At any rate, anyone thinking of going to after Christmas Sales, bring your Bazookas -- everyone else will. It's self-defense. Hopefully the last 2 weeks of December won't bring any extra geological problems or terrorist attacks. Everyone needs to be on their best behavior. Bake the local cops a quiche or something, they may be busy. Anything with sugar will send them over the top as well.

What I'm really worrying about is when Saturn moves in to the 6th House of the Opening Bell charts. That's when the Lay-offs begin.

Everett Blackman on Presidential Assassinations

A while back I found a publication called Astrology: Worlds Visible and Invisible written by Everett Blackman, PMAFA. It's an old American Federation of Astrologers, Inc. pamphlet published in 1974. I was surprised and happy to find that it is still in print and listed on Amazon.com here:

http://www.amazon.com/Astrology-Visible-Invisible-Everett-Blackman/dp/0866900594/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&s=books&qid=1219877079&sr=1-1

Although only 94 pages long, the book is written in 3 parts. (Boy, that was the day when Astrologers wrote short, concise essays.) Part 1 talks about various aspects of astrology associated with the U.S. Presidency. The 2d Part talks about Cycles and Progressions. And the 3d part talks about the Gemini-Sagittarius Axis as regards to the U.S. chart (really, really interesting) along with a couple of other small essays. I bought the book for the incredible chapters on Cycles and Progressions. It goes into the 500 year cycle through history, a 13 year cycle that's created by averaging the transiting Uranus-Neptune Midpoint. Here's a whiff:

"The author recommends still another (3.25 degree) based on the mean annual motion of the Uranus-Neptune midpoint, a spacial reference that has already been implicated in long-term cycle culmination. This is not as exotic as it sounds when we consider that the Uranus-Neptune midpoint axis serves as a convenient base for all medium and long term cycles -- the 500 year cycle predicated on a general restoration of relationships, the shorter 13 year and 39 1/2 year cycles corresponding to a general restoration of planetary sequence."

I wonder if this somehow is significant for translating into earth terms the effects of the Uranus-Neptune mutual reception. We're sitting around waiting for the 2012 End of the World. The two planets were in conjunction in the early 90s. They are now in each other's signs. I wonder what date their midpoint switched from Aquarius to Pisces, or if it has yet, and if this coincides with any significant events. (I'm still without Astro program animation feature, etc., if somebody actually reads this I'd really appreciate if you could leave this info in the comments section).

Also in the book, Blackman wrote an interesting Chapter on Presidential Assassinations. I thought it would be helpful to announce this information to anyone out there who wants to delve into the subject since Barack Obama's safety seems to be very hotly discussed. If anything happens to that guy (other than what Michelle does to him in private) it will be the End of the World, after all.

The Chapter about the Assassinations is called "The Echo Syndrome: A Precursor of Assassinations." p. 29. The Echo Syndrome is simply Blackman's way of saying that one must be able to find similar aspects in every chart. He begins the chapter by describing how he couldn't find similarities in the charts of the Presidents themselves and discusses why.

"Some events are of such a clandestine nature that the only indications are repercussional; that is, they can be detected only by the environmental disturbances they create. This may come as a surprise to some astrologers who have relied too exclusively on such obvious sources as the Kennedy assassination chart. They might better have looked at Johnson's where the disaster of November 22, 1963 is more clearly etched than it ever was in the victim's. In fact, it is so clearly indicated that it is now possible to anticipate and -- hopefully - avert incidents of this type in the future."

Blackman's solution is "you don't select a vice president who is on the same astrological trajectory as a Lyndon Johnson -- or a Teddy Roosevelt -- or a Chester Arthur -- or an Andrew Johnson -- all of whom exhibited the same deadly horoscopical formula the day their predecessors were shot." (the words "repercussional" and "horoscopical" are inventions used in the text).

The echo syndrome is Blackman's way of saying that one looks for similar planetary aspects running through all the charts. He says that astrologers often can't find these because
"(1) Converted declinations to longitude to get alternate progressed readings; (2) considered prenatal factors in their assessment. Both contribute to our understanding of the succession phenomena by linking what appears to be totally diverse horoscopes to a common set of principles."

Blackman first shows the obvious commonalities in the Vice Presidents according to the transits. He discusses Mars-Sun alignments, Saturn-Descendant aspects, Moon-Venus contacts that a couple VP's share with one other VP. The results are scattered but shared with one other of the Successor VPs. He then uses multiple techniques and finds similar placements which he says seem to describe the event best. All charts have these patterns.

"The assassination syndrome then can be described as a convergence of three, possibly four, major influences, all expressed in the charts of successor horoscopes. They are in essence: (1) a Mars-Sun alignment, (2) a Saturn-Sun or chart angle alignment, or both, and (3) a favorable Jupiter-Sun aspect."

It's not as simple as it sounds. The author is using Solstice Points, Converse Directions, Parallels, and more. He converted Saturn's declination to longitude in Roosevelt's Chart in order to achieve the line-up. He explains which methods he uses. This information would be difficult to pull up in 1974 when Blackman wrote this book but is now pretty easy to pull up through computer programs. His orbs are very narrow in most cases.

Blackman's data for his research is given at the end of the article. Common to 4 successor presidents, Andrew Johnson, Chester B. Arthur, Teddy Roosevelt, Lyndon B. Johnson. He was using a noontime chart for Roosevelt which he says may not be correct:

Mars-Sun alignment - all 4
Saturn-Sun alignment in 3 of the charts
Saturn-Chart Angle alignment - all 4
Positive Jupiter-Sun aspect - all 4
