Such a Stimulating Bell

I did not remember that there is an opposition between Venus and Pluto going on right now, that's the truth. But, I did look at today's Opening Bell Chart intending on gaining an understanding of why Ben Bernanke looks so sexy when he's promising to bolster the economy with more Stimulus.

I'll write that again: Stimulus. Venus in Cancer opposing Pluto in Capricorn. Stimulus.

Today's news had a big nice picture of My Magic Federal Reserve Chairman boyfriend Ben Bernanke. He's so photogenic. Must be the Pisces Moon. Ben was saying the Federal Reserve is ready to bolster the economy with 3 different plans if the Budget poo in Congress can't be resolved. He mentioned 3 solutions but I only remember the word Stimulus. I don't think I have a single hormone left in my body.

It helps that the Stock Market rose 100 points after Ben said that. Venus likes a guy with deep pockets.

Uranus is in H8. Surprise Surprise. The Sun is unaspected up in the 11th House of Hopes, Wishes, and Surprise, the show must go on. Group Sex if you will. We all get to see the photo of Ben all at once. Hold on to your Optimism America. Greece, the Birth Place of Democracy is in Bankruptcy and nobody's doing much of anything to bolster it back up except Germany who still needs a place to visit in the Summer. Our Hopes don't align with what the rest of the chart is saying, except for Germany, of course, who likes to buy things cheaply.

Well, if Uranus is so close to the H8 and it is opposing Saturn in the 2d house that means that within a few more days those guys will have passed out of the finance houses and will be in the driver's seat. We have to get past the Full Moon on July 15 which fills in the empty leg of the t-square between Saturn-Uranus-Pluto. Great day to do demo. As a matter of fact, Los Angeles is closing a huge portion of the 405 freeway over this next week-end in order to yank down the Mulholland Bridge over the week-end. The force will be with them. Maybe even an earthquake, although I don't think earthquakes need a full Moon in order to happen. Mulholland was the Virgo who brought water to California by building damns. He said something like "Take It. It's yours!" Then he got a little in over his head and built a bad damn that flooded half the valley. So he spent the rest of his life hiding in his mansion. Now they are saying that all the damn systems in California might be the reason why the Hayward fault is not erupting. Apparently the damns stop the flooding and the fault lines tend to erupt after flooding. There's something so incredible about when Virgos make mistakes. It's as if divine reasoning is making them do it in order to improve things on a larger scale.

I think that Mercury rules the ASC/DESC which describes the sales pitch and the multiple solutions for how to keep things afloat. Marketing blitz. Why not? Also good for anything having to do with printing paper bills.

Neptune c. Pisces Descendant. Transparency. Empathy. Poor house. So Good Lookin.

So, Thanks for keeping us posted, Ben. No. Really. I mean it.

Wonder what Gold did with that unaspected Sun.

The Opening Spigot Bell

Computer Program is permanently on the blink. It's pretty funny. I can't set up charts for 9:30 am. Just got the urge to look at today's Opening Bell Chart. My Magic Federal Reserve Chairman Boyfriend Ben Bernanke says he's searching for the next step. The Federal Reserve is going to begin closing the big credit spigots called QE and QE2. I don't know what the hell those are the way nobody ever really knows what 8th things are. Just Big and Scary and Shakes Chains in the Middle of the Night.

Opening Bell
April 25, 2011 9:30 am

Sun 6 Taurus; Moon 11 Aquarius; ASC 4 Cancer; MC 11 Pisces; NN 25 Sagittarius

Uh oh, that North Node is on the Galactic Center. I guess this is why SETI also announced that they are shutting down Jodie Foster's radio dishes due to lack of funds.

This chart has kind of a cowboy ride em pony type of thing going on with the planets. 5 planets in Aries hanging out on the 11th house cusp. Kind of a free spirit attitude.

Pluto in Capricorn is conjunct the Descendant like right out of a Ingmar Bergman movie. It's trining the Taurus Sun up in the 11th House which means that the Bankers (Taurus) are trying to invent some sort of QE3, whatever the hell that will be.

The rest of the water looks like it's still got plenty of cups running over. The Moon rules both the 1st and 2d houses, Neptune is elevated and up at the top of the chart. Pluto is conjunct the Descendant.

Then there's the environment of the chart which is related to issues around conservative behaviors and control and compensating for lack of confidence, but much needed restriction. The Moon rules the chart and also rules the 2d house of money. The bankers are feeling picked on and they're clingy and needy and will never get enough cash.

Saturn rules the 8th House of Credit, Debt and Bankruptcy. The Moon is trining Saturn in this chart so somebody's working well with somebody at least (although I don't know who is whom). At any rate, if the Government (Saturn) is going bankrupt, then aren't we all? Saturn is constricting. The fun is over. We can't think of any answer for a QE3. Well, except for Neptune which is in its own sign up in the 9th House which adds a little whimsey. (Too bad about the conjunction to Chiron.)

At any rate Neptune will be in Pisces until 2024-5 and will play a big role in the social orders, or lack thereof. This is equivalent to the mid-1850s and represents a really creative time in French Art. I don't know what the rest of the world was doing at that time, probably fighting and dropping into poverty and being taken over by oppressive regimes who institutionalized their ways of thinking. The more of a zombie you are the better this transit will be for you.

What's scary is that Saturn and Pluto are within orb of a square to each other and they're going to be that way over the Summer. So that's said to bring some loss. You're supposed to throw something out. Actually, a ruthless person will likely come along and take it off your hands without asking pretty please. It's sort of feeding the Neptune energy to the dogs right off the bat. So the price of Gold and the threat of China's currency. We ought to flirt with China. Make them smile and then compliment their dimples. If we're smart we'll set all the Muslims up in a big greedy corporation of their own and then send them over to China. China is a Libra, and I promise you, nothing but nothing, could disturb a Libra's aesthetic sense more than to have women walking around in those scary black robes and smiling at you like nothing's wrong.

And as with all Saturn-Pluto transits, there will be angry mobs and mass panics, Gold will soar, and all our teeth will fall out.

The End.

Reality Check Bell

Somebody tell Magic Chairman B-F- that no news is good news. Pluto's at the Ascendant during opening bells on the stock market and the Federal Reserve just let out the news that 2011 markets are going to suck. Tomorrow there is a t-square right on the angles of the opening bell charts. Pluto is on 1st, Moon is on 7th, and Saturn is out in left field doing an apex thing. Venus, the Bitch of Stocks and Bonds, is right on the Mideaven on the last degrees of Libra. She's getting ready to go turn a couple of tricks over in Scorpio in order to make ends meet.

This is a short week followed by a long meal and 4 days of what will be a lot of indigestion.

Thanks a lot. I'll go eat my Swanson Turkey Dinner by myself. Pilgrims my ass.

Somebody made it so that I can't pull up Opening Bell charts on my astrology program. In the words of Martha, "That's a Good Thing." Hey, and where the Hell has she gone since she got out of jail. She always sounds loaded when she talks, obviously got a little prescription drug thing going and we haven't had a good Holiday ever since.

Double Scorpio Opening Bell

Well, so it's an Election Year and they say the Market doesn't tank during an Election Year.

Tomorrow's Opening Bell is going to test that theory. At 9:30 Wall Street is going to be a Double Scorpio. It's been a Double Scorpio Bell ever since the Sun entered that sign last week. Scorpio rules Investments in Other People's Money. It sort of looks like this Bell isn't concerned with that stuff right now, really, though. The trend is going more in the opposite direction as Pluto, Ruler of Scorpio is in the 2d House conjunct the Opening Bell. That's Banking and Cash (and how much you value yourself).

An Interlude from Billie Holiday:

God save the child that's got his own,
that's got his own.

Opening Bell Monday Oct. 25, 2010 9:30 am

Sun 3 Scorpio; Moon 1 Gemini; ASC 27 Scorpio; MC 11 Virgo; NN 6 Capricorn

Anyhoo, a Crisis gets Scorpio all hot and bothered. Scorpio is the Phoenix who rises up out of the ashes and brags about how transformed he feels from the purification process. That's because Scorpio is a very determined and strong willed sign. Everyone else is sitting around totally wasted and doesn't know why the Hell we have to bother with the idea of transformation. Well, if you garden you know how much better the plants grow if you prune them back. That's Scorpio. Give a Scorpio a set of clippers and a rose bush and you'll see what I mean. So, think about how good the market will feel after you've been flushed out along with all the rest of the dead weight.

At any rate, there's going to be some huge manipulations in the money markets tomorrow. Scorpio Sun, Scorpio Rising, Gemini Moon, Who we kidding here? The media will be involved and the Real Estate Market will be involved. And probably some immigrants will be involved. And the Republicans. And the President will be right where he ought to be but he won't be feeling real good about it (Saturn exalted and in its own house, squaring Pluto, Capricorn intercepted in the 2d).

The reason why I'm looking at this Bell is because my Father always told me that 3d Quarter Reports are a good reason to avoid investing in Stock Markets. He was a Scorpio and he grew up in the Depression so you can tell they screwed up his childhood Birthdays royally.

Also, I'm looking at this bell because I've noticed that often there is a correlation between Mercury-Venus conjunctions and crashes. It will be great at the end of the week to look back and say, hey, that wasn't so bad and I can throw that theory out the window. Mercury and Venus together rule marketing (maybe along with Moon) and the idea is that this combination will show that people are more likely to dabble in the markets. Tomorrow the conjunction is to the degree.

And there's a very volatile opposition of Mars to Moon layered right over the ASC/DESC of the chart which could show panic. What may make this a different one is that the planets are in Scorpio in the 12th House so the dealings may be more shrewd, tight lipped and behind the scenes. And there's an election coming up.

The Sun is always in the 11th House in U.S. Stock Market Opening Bells but right now the Sun is really close to the 12th House cusp and it's conjunct Venus Rx-Mercury in Scorpio which are in the 12th House. Venus rules Banking and Money so this Rx and conjunction to Mercury and Sun in the sign of other people's money is looking very complicated. 12th House might indicate some sort of angelic influence, the Neptunians always like to see it that way, Rose colored glasses and stuff, and deception. And boy, do I ever hope they pull out all the stops on that deception stuff because 12th House also rules self-undoing (once Neptune and Pluto and Mercury move away we all start chanting about how honesty is the best policy, but generally by then it's too late to do anything about it).

At any rate, a Moon-Mars opposition set right over the ASC/DESC is volatile and could show panic. This is squaring Neptune-Chiron in Aquarius. Neptune keeps showing up and this brings in the Hollywood thing, and hopefully not the jumping out the window thing. Spin the Wag, or Tail the Dog. Chiron added might show something different but who knows. The Neptune-Chiron conjunction has moved off the angle of the IC but Neptune still rules that angle. 3d House shows that the media will be wagging their tongues and nobody's gonna know what they're saying (but sometimes that's all it takes). 4th House shows Real Estate and the Public and Emotional Reactions. Mercury rules the Virgo Midheaven and Mercury is in the 12th House conjunct Venus Rx (Banking).

Pluto, the Ruler of this chart is squaring Saturn, the Ruler of Democrats (from what I've googled/gathered, Jupiter rules Republicans and Saturn rules Democrats). A Saturn/Pluto square brings loss, the painful kind. It can bring new motivations for leadership and ethics, just because all acts are pretty ruthless and probably a little corrupt right now. Saturn is very strongly placed in this chart in Libra (exhalted) and in the 10th House (natural house). Saturn shows governance and the President and in Libra there's a need to get along.

The Moon at 1 Gemini is apex of a Yod to a Sun 3 Scorpio (H11) sextile to Pluto 4 Capricorn (H2). There's something wrong with the female element in this chart. It's very out of balance.

Jupiter-Uranus, both Rx, are in conjunction in the 4th House. As I said this could be Real Estate, Farming, Overseas investments, Techies, Public, Oceans, Water.

By Closing Bell, Pluto-NN will be conjunct elevated in H10. Saturn will be in H7. Jupiter-Uranus will be in H1. That's angular and so the influences are strong. Sun, Mercury, Venus Rx, and Mars in Scorpio will all be in the 8th House. They will be trining the Jupiter Rx-Uranus RX conjunction in the 1st house. Neptune will rule Closing Bell chart. That's compassion, emotionalism, self-undoing. However, Neptune will be in his own house, the 12th, so perhaps, hopefully, compassion will rule out. We're all more compassionate towards others after a day of huge losses in the Stock Market, aren't we?

For the rest of this week Mars will be conjunct the Ascendant of the Opening Bell and both change signs from Scorpio to Sagittarius. So, the tone will change to Optimism. Friday shows a Grand Trine between Mars/ASC to Moon in Cancer (H8) to Jupiter-Uranus (H4).

Flash Crash 2:45

On May 6, 2010 the Stock Market wigged out after lunch and made the 2d biggest point drop ever, around 1,000 points, before regaining most of its value by the closing bell. Whew, who mixed up those martinis?

A while back I wondered if the Saturn-Uranus opposition would cause some sort of techno/trader weirdness in the Market. There was a conjunction of Saturn to Uranus back in the big crash of 1987 which seems like it may have been a cause factor. That conjunction was in Sagittarius and right on top of the 2d house cusp in the Opening Bell chart. (Oct. 17, 1987) I sort of think that with Saturn and Uranus trying to cooperate there tends to be some of that same annoying thing where man has to chase the machine he has created. Turns out that this crash probably has more to do with Jupiter and Chiron in Pisces.

I'm not sure if anyone's located a cause for the crash. I mean, why May 6? Well, Mercury was Rx .... nah, Mercury goes Rx 3x a year every year year after year. Anyway, they never really seem to come up with reasons for why these crashes happen. The Sun is in the 11th House every day at Opening Bell, that's a good starter reason. Good old 11th House wake up call.

Flash Crash Opening Bell

Moment of Impact
May 6, 2010 2:45 pm New York, NY

In addition to the Mercury Rx 4 Taurus (H11), there are a number of biggees. The Nodal Axis was conjunct the ASC/DESC in the Opening Bell. And Pluto had just barely preceded it by about 9 degrees. That weakens things. I figured it indicated sabotage of some sort, but it could have just as easily been the Martians or the Martinis.

The Saturn opposition to Jupiter-Uranus was very close to the IC/MC axis. Times when this opposition hits one of the angles might be better for some of the techno gliche activity.

There was also a volatile t-square with Sun 15 Taurus squaring Moon 21 Aquarius opposing Mars 15 Leo. These 3 show some kind of emotional trigger thing. Here they in the Resources Signs in the Resources Houses so in a Stock Market chart I suppose one could expect something big to happen on that day, especially with the Nodal Axis hanging over the ASC/DESC line.

After lunch this t-square passes over the Ascendant. The Sun is conjunct the Midheaven. And the Moon is shootin shit with Neptune and Lilith on the Descendant. Neptune and Lilith? Martinis involved.

Mercury and Venus are in Mutual Reception so this shows ability for a lot of chatter in the markets. And Mercury is Retrograde which is great for any kind of clerical error. Supposedly the computers took over and were placing trades on their own according to mathematical principles. The Uranus-Neptune mutual reception had to have something to do with that as well.

The bottom of the market hit around 2:45. Venus was conjunct the Midheaven. I guess the traders quit trading. The Sun was in the 9th House in a Grand Trine with the Virgo Ascendant and the North Node. Maybe some sort of foreign investment deal made?

Today I found a link on a blog to a Wall St. Journal article (http://online.wsj.com/article/SB20001424052748703957604575272791511469272.html) which compares this Flash Crash with a Flash Crash from 1962:

1962 Flash Crash
May 29, 1962

Sun 8 Gemini (H11); Moon 15 Aries (c. MC); ASC 2 Leo; MC 17 Aries; NN 13 Leo Rx;

The Sun is again apex of a t-square from H11. This time it squares Pluto Virgo (H2) opposing Chiron (H8).

Interesting other connections. Again, there's a Mercury Rx so Mercury is looking suspicious.

It's interesting that both crashes occur in May. Taurus takes up most of the Month and Taurus rules Money and Banks so could be the culprit. But the Sun, Mercury and Venus are all in different signs in each year. The WSJ article says that complacency among traders might have been one of the major reasons because both of these crashes were preceded by years in which there was a steep rise in the market.

Also interesting is that both Jupiter and Chiron were in the sign of Pisces. Jupiter and Pisces need to learn how to handle their alcohol better. These things always happen after lunch. Anyways, the Sun mosies over the Midheaven sometime round noon and goes into a sort of giddey-up rodeo act as it travels through the 9th House of the Centaur and down into the 8th where it gains equilibrium.

I looked at some of the suspected causes given for this last Flash Crash on Wikipedia and tried to relate them through astrolocality to see if any looked prominent. Some company out in the Midwest is blamed for posting a trade that went berserk. This is where the Chiron line goes through. Since Chiron is in the same sign in both charts maybe this would be a good place to look.

****NOTE ADDED 10/8/10: According to editorial in USATODAY (10/7/10 issue) "Flash-crash analysis leaves investors reason to worry" the reason for the crash is related to a money management firm in Kansas, Waddell & Reed. The firm "decided to unload $4 billion in stock futures contracts, using a computer algorithm programmed to sell regardless of price, so long as trading volume stayed robust. High-frequency traders provided that volume as their computers bought and sold rapid fire, creating a kind of feedback loop that signaled Waddell's computers to keep selling even as the prices of the futures contracts, and the underlying stocks, plunged." "If anything, the report is disquieting in how long it took to simply figure out what happened, and in its lack of concrete proposals for preventing a recurrence. The truly scary thing is that all this happened in a relatively benign trading environment." Chiron can't heal its own problems and in the sign of Pisces we definitely get the sense that there's stuff out there that can't be figured out. Merc Rx never helps, of course.

There was some mention about some kind of currency exchange situation with Japan and that looks a bit suspicious as well because a Pluto line runs between Japan and North Korea. Jupiter is in Pisces in both Flash Crash charts so Jupiter lines might show something. I don't understand how the market works enough to say either way.

Opening Bell Charts and the Saturn-Uranus Opposition

There is talk about how the Economy is improving in the media. Meanwhile there are a bunch of adjustable rate mortgages coming due this Summer. Someone told me that it is feared that as many as 75 percent of these will fail.

So I thought I'd take a look at how the remaining Saturn-Uranus opposition (days of exact opposition) will look in the Opening Bell Charts for Wall St. We are going through a very long pass of this opposition in which the planets will aspect each other exactly 5 times over almost a two year period. The opposition is considered more vibrant because its last couple of exact passes will occur over the Aries Points in the charts. This could indicate problems that are perhaps worldwide and in transition. In traditional Astrology both of these planets are ruled by the same planet, Saturn, so there is a sense that they may not see things all that differently anyway. At any rate, they are here being challenged by Pluto who is in a square with both of them from the beginning of Capricorn. Pluto is a big distillor, he wants to prune away and reduce whatever is dead weight, get to the core. Here he is working on a society level, probably from the point of view of the elite class, the most successful as represented by Capricorn. There is a sense of things going on behind the scenes. Or, perhaps Pluto will get in there and confront the problems and expose them. If you expose too much, of course, you make yourself vulnerable.

Of course, a huge problem with a t-square is that it brings lack in the one spot where it isn't represented in a square. This is the Cancer Aries Point which is so strongly represented in so much of the United States' legislation. Cancer represents the public, the land, anything that nurtures and provides the materials for growth.

The t-square won't ever be exact. They are close enough for Gemini Rising but others might not think this is all that important. Truth is, the Uranus-Pluto square, which isn't going to be exact until 2012 will be within orb of a being considered a square in this Summer's Eclipse so that energy will probably be felt from then on. A good old fixed sign outer planet square is probably good to have for survival when things get tough. The kids born during this time will be able to handle just about anything that's thrown at them.

Eclipses. Again, it's a daunting task to try to follow all this information. The Uranus-Pluto exact squares will be caught in the crossfires of some Eclipses from 2013 through 2015. In May, 2013 the square will be exact right between a Set. That month is when the Scientists say the Solar Cycle will be at its maximum. I wrote about that Virgo guy who was unbelievably great at predicting Financial Crises related to the Solar cycles. Was his name Jevons? Sounds like a Butler.

Saturn and Pluto will square each other 3 times from Nov. 15, 2009 to Jan. 31, 2010 to Aug. 21, 2010. The last time they squared was from 1993-94 and before that in 1973-74.

Uranus and Pluto will square each other 7 times from Jun 24, 2012 through Mar. 17, 2015. The last time they squared was in the early 30s from the signs Aries (Uranus) to Cancer which shows why there is some concern for repetition of the Great Depression.

The following charts are for the Opening Bells on Wall Street and so are set for 9:30 am.
Therefore, the Wall Street's Ego, Vitality, Will, Risk, Creativity, as represented by its Opening Bell Charts, is in the 11th House o f Hopes, Wishes, Community Activities, Entrepreneurship, Innovation, Shock, Erratic Behavior, Freedom, Mental Distance, etc. That sets the tone for how Wall St. wants to express itself in its investments. The Sun rules H5 which is a Resource House so this is a great placement.

This also means that often the chart will often be ruled by the Sign that comes before whatever sign the Sun is in. This might be a source of tension as that means that the Sun is often expressing itself through the 12th House of the Sign it is ruling. That can either lead to self-undoing or finding hidden resources. There is always a nagging sense (and, er, knowledge) that there are undercurrents going on which can't be controlled (Pisces, H12). Things aren't what they seem. Off track, back to the charts.

Opening Bell Sept. 15, 2009 9:30 am New York, NY, Tuesday
Saturn-Uranus opposition is exact at 12:43 PM at 25 Virgo-Pisces
Sun 23 Virgo

Sun 23 Virgo; Moon 9 Leo; ASC 28 Libra; MC 1 Leo; NN 28 Capricorn

Saturn here is placed in House 11 and is conjunct the Sun and Mercury Retrograde. Cautious, disciplined mind. The Mercury Rx will mess up clarity of thinking and communication and might indicate a fearful attitude towards anything having to do with Risk and Entrepreneurship. Opposite is Uranus which is placed in the 5th House. These two are duking it out in the mutable signs of Virgo/Pisces and they are playing with the square to Pluto. This shows an adaptability for change, issues concerning Analysis v. Psychic Knowing, Health, Discipline of Day to Day v. Release into Unknown, and whatever. They are adaptable but nervous. There is a sense that no one knows boundaries and those who feel comfortable with that will either do well or will coerce ire in others. Medical Stocks might come back into forefront but only if they have a product.

So the Saturn-Uranus opposition is taken off the Angles here, which is positive, but Saturn is conjunct the Sun and is squaring Pluto at 1 Capricorn in H3 (Communications). That, along with Mercury Rx shows that Communications will somehow play a part. An Announcement? A lot of Government intervention? Send Congress on a Vacation so that they can't sign any Legislation because they'll just bury us further in. Policing? Ruthless behaviors? Sun-Saturn is also trining the North Node at 28 Capricorn, that indicates that Government is pushing to build. With the 3d House emphasis, just make sure it's not the Tower of Babble we're building. Wonder what will happen with Transportation stocks. Of course, 3 house and Mercury are concerned with the Auto Industry and Newspapers and TV. Kind of interesting, just heard on the news last night that the funds for the Roads are going to run dry in August. Can't remember if that was National or just in California.

Mars here is unaspected at 13 Cancer in H9. Temper Tantrums. International Relations. Academia. A Classical Musician should ring the Opening Bell on this day. Perhaps some infantile behavior that could lead to some good luck. Sounds creative to me. Maybe the Bipolars will have to be taken off their meds and will go back to working in TV and Media so we can finally get some new ideas.

With regards to the houses that rule money directly, H2 and H8, Venus and Pluto, the natural rulers of the 2d and 8th Houses are in reversal position from where they ought to be. They always are at this time of year, maybe why the Market tends to tank around this time, in October. Venus is up in the 10th House and is opposing the Jupiter-Chiron-Neptune conjunction which will still be in effect in Aquarius (h4). Good time to invest in Real Estate? Maybe a little boom? This will be the event that separates the Haves from the Have Nots? H2 and H8 are empty.

Neptune in this chart is in the 9th House. It is still conjunct Chiron. I wrote a post a long time ago about how Neptune sells so perhaps this is where to look for investment opportunities. In the knitting world the sales are dropping off for everything except sock yarns which are represented by Neptune rulership of the feet. I can't finish two of anything so I'm sticking with Hats for now. I'm so tired of all this mutable sign energy I'm craving some good old Cardinal Aries Sign Head Gear.

Where were we?

Opening Bell Apr. 26, 2010 9:30 am New York NY
Saturn-Uranus Opposition running from H4 (Saturn) to H10 (Uranus)

Sun 7 Taurus; Moon 11 Libra (H4); ASC 5 Cancer; MC 12 Pisces; NN 16 Capricorn

Sun and Moon ruled by Venus, ruler of Banks and Money and Cash.

Once again, the Sun is conjunct a Mercury Rx 10 Taurus. This squares Mars at 11 Leo. Military?

The Moon is squaring the Nodal Axis.

Saturn-Uranus is on the Angles. This is at 29 Virgo-Pisces, gaining on the Aries Points. Jupiter will be at 23 Pisces now in conjunction with Uranus rather than Neptune. (Note the Uranus-Neptune mutual reception is getting one big last hurrah from Jupiter as he passes from one to the next, great for Science and Technology, maybe for politics and law).

Pluto is 10 degrees away from conjunction with the Nodal Axis and is right on the Descendant. Crisis created by others? Both points are trining Sun-Mercury Rx. Relationship problems coming to a head. Anger.

Cancer on H2 Cusp with Mars in Leo inside H2. Emotional volatility concerning finances and security. Points to Real Estate. Moon is in the 4th House and is squaring the ASC/DESC axis and Pluto. Investors, women?

Capricorn on H8 cusp with no planets in H8. Saturn is in the 4th House which doesn't sound good for Real Estate. Saturn is opposing Jupiter conjunct Uranus in Pisces (H10).

Opening Bell, July 26, 2010, 9:30 am New York, NY
Saturn-Uranus opposition is exact at 4:59 pm

Sun 4 Leo; Moon 11 Libra; ASC 17 Virgo; MC 14 Gemini; NN 11 Capricorn

This is the biggee on the Aries Points. Saturn opposes Uranus from 1 Libra to 1 Aries. They are angular by sign and by house. Saturn is in H1 conjunct Mars and Uranus-Jupiter is in the 7th House. They are squaring Pluto at 4 Capricorn in the 4th House. Pluto is conjunct the North Node at 11 Capricorn.

In addition, there is a Full Moon crossing the H5 (Moon in Aquarius) to H11 (Sun in Leo).

There is a big emphasis on relationships here. Oppositions represent relationships, balancing, harmonizing. Libra rules the chart. Feeling of being turned upside down.

Land Ahead Opening Bell Chart

The Financial Experts announced on Tuesday that the end is in sight for the current Recession. Land Ahead! Or at least they can now at least see the Real Estate through all the Foreclosure Signs.

If this prediction is true then the U.S. will have endured a 24 month Recession which is the worst since the Great Depression of the 30s. According to the expert the Stock Market is at its bottom, or close to. Unemployment should peak out at the 1st part of 2010 at around 10 percent. Real Estate will bottom out in Summer and then should begin to rise but won't return to peak levels. Someone just told me that her financial advisor said that there will be another wave of Foreclosures this Summer as the recently unemployed start losing their homes. I'll look at the opening bell charts of these later but this sounds about right.

So the financial experts are rejoicing and celebrating their job security. Turns out that Tuesday's Opening Bell Chart had an unaspected (ptolomaic aspect) island configuration of joyful, positive Jupiter and Neptune together up in the 10th House of Government. This represents in literal terms my Magic Federal Reserve Chairman Boyfriend who is a Jupiter/Neptune person. He's actually looking quite gaunt these days and could use about a week's worth of lunches at the Dairy Queen. Sadge's aren't supposed to get too skinny. Must be the addition of Chiron to the Jupiter-Neptune conjunction.

Opening Bell Chart for Happy Announcement
Mar. 24, 2009 9:30 am New York, NY

Sun 5 Aries; Moon 9 Pisces; ASC 2 Gemini; NN 7 Aquarius; MC 9 Aquarius

This is a very positive, hopeful chart. The Gemini Rising of course can certainly indicate an Announcement or Communication. The Nodal Axis is aligned with the MC/IC line with North Node within 1 degree of the Midheaven in Aquarius. Midheaven represents the Government, North Node is the part of Destiny to which one aspires. Aquarius is hopes and wishes. This shows a light, mental attitude of the Government which is taking the long view. For a while there they weren't telling us the morbid public anything too positive so there wasn't any real leadership in this regard until this announcement.

This energy is further developed in the chart because the rulers of the ASC and the Midheaven are Mercury and Uranus and these two are in conjunction with the Sun in the 11th House of Hopes and Wishes. It's also a signature for innovation and doing what's never been done before. The Sun adds an element of Confidence. I was wondering if things would take a more positive turn as Saturn was passing through the 5th House of the Opening Bell charts where it has been for about a month. Now we just have to endure April (cruelest month) as Saturn spends a month down in the bottom of the chart. Maybe this means "Fire Sale" or Bargain Basement shopping opportunities in the Stock Market. The Groopers and the CatFish will be mopping up.

The Sun in this chart is conjunct Venus in Aries. Venus is still Rx until Apr. 17 when she will have briefly passed back into Pisces. She will touch Mars and Uranus at this point which should be a fairly lively period. Mars will then escort her back into Aries and they will play around with each other for about a month. She will hit the spot where she went Retrograde around May 21 at 15 Aries. She will be inconjunction with Mars and the Moon on that date. Then full steam ahead into a Summer's worth of foreclosures. The Moon is conjunct Mars in Pisces in this chart. This might mean that the Feds aren't giving us the Full Picture but really have our interests at heart. They know that Saturn is about to route out the bottom of the chart.

There are two Island configurations in this chart which demand attention. One is the Jupiter-Chiron-Neptune conjunction in Aquarius which I spoke about before. This is in the 10th House and indicates the Feds. The Second is Saturn which rules the 10th House which again represents Government and the Fed. Saturn in this chart is the Handle figure to a Bucket shape. Saturn is widely opposing Mars in Pisces and is otherwise unaspected by major aspect. These two working together want to both build but Saturn likes to plan and Mars just want to get the hammer and dive in. They are in opposition which creates a Wall to get through. It usually also gives the desire to break through the wall. All the other planets in the chart are up in the top of the chart which gives most of the energy to those in public positions. They might actually be feeling held down by this Saturn energy which is cautious and conservative and also by the South Node on the IC which is tradition.

Do Not Ask For Whom The Opening Bell Tolls

I haven't written much about the Opening Bell Charts. Guess I'm not a very consistent time keeper. Truth is, it's getting kinda depressiony out there ...

But these charts seem to work. I remember way back when speculating that the jobs reports would get really nasty right as Saturn was sitting in the 6th House of Jobs during the February Opening Bell charts. It does this every year but this year is special because Saturn is opposing Uranus and the one consistent thing I've noticed about Uranus transits is that they are eventful.

Uranus transits are not like Pluto transits where you just slowly lose your old life to day-to-day water boarding incidents in the houses where Pluto is placed both nataly and by transit at the time. Uranus transits are easy to mark down on your calendar, kind of like Moon-Mars transits. I know a lot of alcoholics who use Full Moons as an excuse to get drunk. Uranus transits aren't like that either, you can't really plan for them. You just mark them on your calendar and, if Saturn and Pluto are involved you say "The World is about to go to Hell in a Handbasket." when whatever happens happens. Maybe that's why we all become so alienated from each other during these transits. And, as I showed in my blog called "Eureka" about the guy who found Gold in the California Hills, something exceptionally good may happen. You will lose all your friends, though, but if you live in California where everyone's a flake you were expecting that anyway. I've mentioned before Michael Lutin's comment at a lecture that Uranus transits you think about all the worst things that can happen because whatever happens will be unexpected. And he said that with Pluto transits you do the exact opposite because Pluto will manifest whatever you're most afraid of.

Next Opening Bell chart I wanted to look at was Saturn's pass through the 4th House. This house is angular, so important. The 4th House is also opposite the sign/house that Saturn naturally rules. And it's the bottom of the chart. This could show the bottoming. In this case, I don't think so though. Since the Saturn-Uranus opposition isn't even half over this might mean that it's not going to happen yet. Saturn and Uranus are taking their time asking us to look at regulations and how we build our society. What is Governable and what needs Freedom in order to progress? I wonder if Dr. Dolittle's Push Me'Pull You was a Saturn-Uranus animal? Gemini will be rising through most of April so there could really be a little of this going on. Gemini likes to get in there and fix things so this, in combination with the Jupiter-Neptune conjunction in Aquarius could bring some upbeat situations.

During the Date I was looking at (Apr. 28-29) the Jupiter-Neptune conjunction in Aquarius in the 9th House. The Scholars and the Lawyers will be doing overtime, they're probably the only ones who will be able to bill for overtime at this point. There will be International meetings of the mind. Problem is 9th House sometimes isn't where the ideas begin. That's just academia. Well-fed, back biting, people with opinions who are obsessed with how things ought to be. These scholars better spend some time driving around New York in Taxi Cabs and they had better pay the drivers really big tips for all the ideas that they'll need to pilfer in order to get us out of this mess. Scholars have tenure and people who have tenure can't streamline. And Lawyers can just go out and drum up business by picking fights.

What else? April Dates for when Saturn hits the IC. On Apr. 28-29 the Moon here is going Ape Face over the Ascendant, while Saturn is on the IC and Pluto is on the DESC. That's not a good set of aspects right there. You don't have friends with that type of aspect. The Moon on these days will be out of bounds up at 26 degrees Declination North. It will be ruling both the Chart and the 2d House of Banking, Money, Values. The Moon is further under stress because it will be moving very fast on the Apr. 28 Opening Bell Chart (14 degrees, 30'). On the 28th the Moon will be at 25 Gemini in H12. It will be squaring a conjunction of Uranus 27 Pisces to Venus 2 Aries and Mars 5 Aries. In the Apr. 29 Opening Bell Chart the Moon will be at 9 Cancer conjunction the 8 Cancer Ascendant. It will be in a potentially very violent, turbultent t-square. Moon squares Mars 6 Aries/Venus 2 Aries in H10 and opposing Pluto 4 Capricorn/DESC. On the other hand, the Moon is very much restrained by Saturn and Pluto. The Scholars might actually be able to get the Bankers to behave. Good day to be a fly on a wall in a back room on the East Coast somewhere.

And Saturn will be in Virgo conjunct the IC. Virgo isn't really the most positive sign to have in the emotionally needy 4th House. Virgo's great for public health and for showing up at jobs that no one else could stand but it fails dismally in the 4th House situation. The Scholars are going to send us all to nursing school. This is the house that rules home, housing, parents, feelings, caring, acting like a baby, and the general public and I don't know in which order. 4th House won't look at how to fix a problem, it will just walk in and start doing things, really not very Virgo.

Saturn, down in the dumps on the IC, will be ruling the 8th House of Investment, Bankruptcy, etc. Saturn is now moving Retrograde which means that it is moving more slowly than Uranus from the earth's point of view. The 2d and 8th House will be empty except for the Nodal Axis. North Node will be in the 8th House so it looks like people will either be having Sex, paying Taxes or killing themselves.

Thought I'd also review the Saturn-Uranus opposition now.

We've got 5 hits of them which is kind of a lot. First one was on Election Day at 19 Virg0-Pisces. The last one will be on Jul. 26, 2010 at 1 Aries-Libra. That's the Aries Point. And, of course, Pluto will be squaring them. Remember that Election Day was an awesome time for the United States. We got to elect what appears to be a talented person for our President after a horrifying Political drought of eight years, or maybe the rich people bought him I still would like to know where all those anonymous donations were coming from. We got to take a big leap in healing our racial divides in electing an African-American. At any rate, there were mass crowds (Uranus in Pisces) in the Capital (Saturn). In reality, a lot of really bad stuff is behind us.

The Financial Markets are a mess. Although a couple of CEOs have kindly offered to give up their bonuses for the year, I just read that Banks are charging like gangbusters on the ATM cards that are being handed as unemployment checks. The Bankers are really, really a source of big problems right now.

They are listed over at Astropro here along with a long line of their illustrious ancestor transits: http://www.astropro.com/features/tables/geo/sa-ur/sa-180-ur/SA180UR6.html

Here are the Dates and Degrees involved in the current Saturn-Uranus opposition. What I'm noticing is that the Sun is in Fixed Signs (Resources) for 4 out of the 5 opposition dates. This is a very harsh, masculine expression of an already harsh energy but Saturn & Uranus. Harsh can be ok if it's used to keep the bad people under control and not if it turns the crowds into a bunch of psychotic robots and I guess you really never know which is going to happen until its over. Together this represents the political, mass mind that wants to organize and hopefully unify and reshape into a stronger, healthier set of ideals which can be used constructively towards all things Pisces (not going into right now what that means). :

Nov. 4, 2008 19 Virgo - Pisces
Feb. 5, 2009 21 Virgo - Pisces
Sept. 15, 2009 25 Virgo - Pisces
Apr. 26, 2010 29 Virgo - Pisces
July 26, 2010 1 Libra - Aries

Monday's Stock Market - 4th Biggest Crash

On the old PBS show headed by Louis Rukeyser, I once remember hearing a financial analyst say that you have to organize a company so that a Monkey can run it -- because eventually a Monkey will run it. That's pretty much what's happened to America. The Shit has risen to the top. I sort of worry that this is the negative side of the Pluto in Leo generation putting on the Circus and the Pluto in Virgo Generation passively letting them do it. Hopefully, President Elect Obama will show a different side of what Pluto in Virgo can do. As anybody who's ever been to a Faith Healer (or Psychologist) knows, telling people to change is a waste of everybody's time and is much different from actually lighting the fires under people's asses. I always like working for Leo's, though, because they're good at this singular talent, the lighting of the whatsits, so Obama's got an Astrological advantage...

So, back to the theme of the Monkey House. The Stock Market suffered its 4th greatest loss ever on Monday. (Drop around 680 points). Chalk this up to the conjunction of Venus-Jupiter and the Moon. These are all planets that overdo. The local yarn store said that they had the best year ever so there really was shopping fervor. Knitters of America may be holding up the economy with their sheer compulsive shopping behaviors.

Astrologers usually think sweet nothing about this Venus-Jupiter-Moon combo. Har. The Drop doesn't seem like a big deal at this point because this is just old news. Financial experts sapping last bits in weird moves. The Market had risen a lot the week before in order to artificially get America out there shopping over the long Thanksgiving Week-end. This is to show faith in American Retail.

Right now, prudent Capricorn is rising in the Opening Bell Charts. That's a restrictive influence. Anyone who doesn't spend foolishly or at least knows how to stomp all over others in order to get what he/she wants in life, will fare much better than those who bulk up their credit cards.

Ruler of the chart Saturn is in the 8th House of Investments as the Market opens. That doubles the restrictive side and is just downright depressing. The opposition to unpredictable Uranus in the 2d house just showcases the erratic and unpredictable influences. Saturn and Uranus working together sort of know what they are doing. They want to keep things steely and dry-eyed. Interesting to see them working together in a sextile/trine with goopy, uncontrollable Moon-Venus-Jupiter in this way. It seems I keep hearing analysts say that the True Value of the Stock Market is around 8100 or 8200 points. It seems they all know this.

Pluto, ruler of Investments and Crises and all kinds of related stuff, is now up in the 12th House. On Monday he was unaspected by major aspects which he seems to be doing a whole lot these days. He's unaspected a lot these days. (That is about to end with a bang.)

The Interesting part about Monday's Fall was that the Recession was officially announced. (Sun conjunct Mercury and Mars in Sagittarius). Apparently the country has been in a Recession since last December. Interesting that this is when that nasty long-term opposition (almost 6 months?) from Mars to Pluto was. Mars has now come half circle and is about to pass over Pluto right on the Aries Point. This will happen the last couple of weeks this Month. The Sun will be in conjunction with Mars in Sagittarius. This will square the Saturn-Uranus opposition on/around December 14. Then the Sun and Mars will pass over into Capricorn and hit Pluto. And the Moon will be in conjunction with that set as well. This will happen on the 26th.

So, anyway, this upcoming Sun-Mars-Pluto thing on the first degree(s) of Capricorn could be a real drag. I wish I could put plugs in women's uteruses so that we don't have to live with all the little school shooters who will be born on this day. Or at least we could build special families to raise the kids so that they can be raised in controlled environments without too much stress, an emphasis on ethics, creativity, nutrition and exercise. Because this is a strong willed combination, sometimes a bit volatile, a lot of creativity and drive that needs to be focused.

At any rate, anyone thinking of going to after Christmas Sales, bring your Bazookas -- everyone else will. It's self-defense. Hopefully the last 2 weeks of December won't bring any extra geological problems or terrorist attacks. Everyone needs to be on their best behavior. Bake the local cops a quiche or something, they may be busy. Anything with sugar will send them over the top as well.

What I'm really worrying about is when Saturn moves in to the 6th House of the Opening Bell charts. That's when the Lay-offs begin.

Opening Bell - Monday, Sept. 29

Tomorrow's Stock Market Opening Bell chart shows a big emphasis on Fixed Signs and Jupiter. Fixed Signs are on all of the angles. There are no trines or sextiles to the angles, but if anyone can handle that energy well a Sun-Moon in Aquarius can. Chiron is within one degree conjunction of the IC and is conjunct the North Node and Neptune in Aquarius who are still hanging out in the 4th House. Aquarius is a very erratic and unpredictable sign and it is not comfortably placed in the 4th House of Housing, Real Estate and Security. But this combination can bring innovation or at least the ability to play and experiment with concepts which is what the Bankers are doing. Unfortunately Bankers are not the most generous people on earth and usually just have their own self interest at heart. They are digging themselves out.

Meanwhile, I'm mentioning the one thing I remember from the Stock Market class that I dropped out of half way through 15 years ago. The Teacher said that when investing always remember that "The Trend is Your Friend." That's two Aquarius Keywords. So, looking for Aquarius and Uranus in a chart could be the way to take advantage of this market. Aquarius is on the IC so opportunities are cropping up in Real Estate and probably in other 4th House businesses like Restaurants, Hotels, etc. Knitters who can design are probably doing pretty well right now by selling their stuff, especially if they use very tactile pleasing yarn. Rich people still have money to burn. These young Pluto in Libra kids are creating unbelievably beautiful knitting, that's for sure. What a relief after the Pluto in Leo and Virgo gunny sacks.

Where was I?

Oh, yeah. Uranus rules the 4th, heavily influenced by Chiron-NN-Neptune. (Weather, flooding, poisons, stiff jawed, bony assed, rich people from Connecticutt finally able to afford to buy water front property in California, argh).

I suppose I should say that Aquarius is unpredictable so anything can happen. I just can't believe that the politicians will let the Stock Market tank right before a major election (Jupiter-Saturn trine).

Pluto rules the chart and he's a singleton in Fire in the 2d House. The Sun and Moon are in conjunction in Libra in the 11th House. And Sun-Moon disposit to Venus which is still hanging out on the Ascendant at the Opening Bell. So, Venus is conjunct the Ascendant tomorrow but is otherwise unaspected. Venus in turn is in Scorpio and disposits to Pluto. An emotional cauldron. Venus rules Banking, Money, Values. Pluto rules Other People's Money, Investments, etc. Both stand out in this chart along with:

Sun and Moon are squaring Jupiter who is the ruler of the 2d House. This is a challenging aspect. It can represent huge sums of money. The Feds and Congress have worked all week-end and have agreed upon a deal.

I spent some time last week looking through Rex Bills for Rulerships that are relevant to this and noticed that Jupiter has some interesting rulerships.

Legislation, legislatures
part rulership of banks, banking, bankers: Jupiter, Venus, 2 Taurus, Sagittarius (Sun)
Liberals (Jupiter, Uranus)
conservatives: Saturn and dogmatic Conservatives (Taurus)
Civilians: Jupiter, Moon
Civilization: Jupiter
Financiers: Jupiter, Venus, Taurus (Sun, Saturn)
Finance, financial prospects & affairs: Jupiter 2, Taurus, Venus (7, Saturn)
Depositoris (Jupiter)
Department Heads (Jupiter, Uranus)
Regulations Jupiter (11)
Senate, Senators: 11, Aquarius, Jupiter (Neptune, 5)
Public's attitude toward the press: Gemini, H3
and
Press' attitude towards the public: (9)

Committees are ruled by (Mercury, Pluto). Gemini is on the 8th House cusp for this month. Jupiter is in the 3d House at opening bell right now. The Market really is heavily affected by Committees right now and also the Press. These rulerships are all shown very strongly in the chart. The Moon and Sun joining together in Aquarius in the 11th House and squaring Jupiter in the 3d House. Wow.

Tomorrow's Opening Bell - Friday Sept. 26, 2008

Well, there's no way I could have predicted what happened after I posted yesterday.

John McCain suspended his campaign in order to go to Washington to fix the financial crisis. I've heard that he wasn't even on the committee that deals with finance. I suppose that could be read into the chart with Moon-SN in Leo opposing Chiron-NN-Neptune over the IC-MC Axis in the Opening Bell chart today. Midheaven = President. The Moon would have been passing over McCain's Mars in Leo which is a very volatile and erratic influence. MercuryRx and Mars are on his Ascendant if he has Libra Rising. I think that Obama's Sun is conjunct McCain's Mars which sort of explains the whole weird thing.

Nancy Pelosi, speaker of House came out and said that the Bail Out was passed. She's an Aries Sun that trines Pluto so she can match the Sun-Pluto square that's in the sky right now. Transiting Mars and Mercury Rx are on her North Node in Libra which is better for negotiations than decision making. (using Astrotheme chart)

Since the Market has closed the BailOut is again off the tables. Monica from Astrology Mundo pointed out in her comment that the Bail Out might fall apart as a result of the Mercury Rx and voila! she was right.

Washington Mutual has been seized by the FDIC in the biggest bank failure ever. Last one was in 1984 according to whatever Yahoo article I read that in. Washington Mutual should have failed a long time ago. The customer's money is supposedly safe.

Tomorrow's chart for opening Bell still has Moon (Emotions, Public, Security) in Leo (Risks, Speculation, Creativity) on the last degree. It's up in the 10th House (Government, Authority). Saturn is also backing into the 10th House now at opening Bell. That's its natural house. It's all about Government and Business right now and how controlling things are going to get. Saturn in Virgo might be helpful in that it insist that the Devil and God and whatever else gets into the Details be analyzed and systematized. Good.

So I'm thinking that the Jupiter trine Saturn basically means that the influence of the upcoming elections is what's keeping the Markets from tanking. Jupiter plus Saturn is a political influence. Both planets rule social interaction on a civilized level. They represent everything the Greeks and Romans perfected. Well, the Greeks. The Romans took it over the top, in my opinion.

Meanwhile, the Sun and Pluto continue to square each other and to rule the ASC and MC of the chart. Uranus rules the IC. That's a good aspect for getting the earth to shift under one's feet. Sun has the hard aspect to Pluto and Uranus has the hard aspect to Saturn and neither is making a positive aspect to anything.

The ruler of the Descendant, Venus, meanwhile, is very strong. She is still chasing the Ascendant. Venus will be at the apex of a trine between Moon and Pluto tomorrow. There's talent amongst the women. Sarah Palin shoots wolves from Helicopters and I just want her to keep her mouth shut. Perhaps the influence of women will make a difference here. Most of the women politicians I'm thinking of aren't very good with money. That's odd because there are some really great women money managers.

Values and Diplomacy, Cold Hard Cash, Women, Banks, Investments. There are lots of discussions about how the Bail Out can be finagled to make some good money for Tax Payers. Astrology Mundo lists one example in Sweden.

Brother, Can You Spare a Dime? Sept. 23, 2008

Is it the Week-end yet? Is it even Hump Day yet?

"Bailing Out." That term is used for sinking ships and for leaving relationships. Now it has new meaning which we apply to the people who hold our money in safe keeping. The Feds have proposed a 700 Billion Gazillion Dollar Fix-It Doohickie to the Bankers. Hell, we could stay in Iraq for 700 more days on that figure...

Where is all this damn money supposed to come from?

They're dropping Acid into the water supply, aren't they?

The Opening Bell Charts right now have shrewd Scorpio Rising and Courageous Leo Midheaven. Resources of Speculation/Risk and Investments/Taxes/Other People's Money is dominant. The rulers of these angles, Sun and Pluto are in challenging square aspect and are on the Aries Points.

Transiting Venus, natural ruler of Banking through Taurus/2d House is still rising over the Ascendant as the Market opens. What is different this week from last is that Venus and Pluto now rule the Ascendant and Descendant. Last week they were ruling each other's houses.

First I'd like to propose my own creative fix. Why don't they just fire all the Bankers who failed and let everyone's Grandparents take care of the till? There's nothing like years of experience and living on a fixed income for a few years to show a person how to manage money. Problem solved.

There is talk that some of the fix could actually come with reward in the way of high interest return for investors. That's great unless there's massive inflation coming up. But I think this idea is only part of the journalists and isn't part of the Feds' plan anyway.

Terry Gross gave another great interview on NPR today with a Pulitzer Prize winning journalist for the New York Times, Gretchen Morgenson which sort of "focused" (Pluto word) the problem for me. The problem is the money, of course. But, I was struck by how well Morgenson described Pluto's transition from Sagittarius to Capricorn. Lack of enforcement of regulations in the mortgage industry and the repeated lack of oversight is the Problem. Sagittarians are so much fun but they don't like setting the rules. They don't want to be the meanie. Morgenson used words like "No oversight" "Lax Lending" "Anything Goes" attitude towards dealing with money. Easy going Jupiter stuff. I was born to two Jupiter-Pluto people. They will try anything. It's a whole lot of fun but the Chapter 11s aren't.

Morgenson even said something like (can't quote verbatim because I was driving) "This inevitably leads to a Doom & Gloom situation." That's sounds like Pluto in Capricorn to me. This is just so typical of the passage of Pluto (Crisis, Emotions, Debt) from Sagittarius into Capricorn. You get the feeling that the transition from some signs to others signs is kind of fun, like from Scorpio to Sagittarius would be such a well deserved release. But some are awful. The transitition from Leo to Virgo did me in. Maybe it is the transition from Fire to Earth. It's the Crash and Burn part of the cycle.

It looks like what we need right now is for the people's interests to be taken into account. Morgenson's criticisms of the Feds are that The Feds want very limited oversight for how they bail the Financial System out. Since they are the ones who led the Markets into this mess and apparently didn't have a clue what was coming up, they should be held on very short leash, shouldn't they?

Tomorrow's Opening Bell will have Moon in Leo conjunct the Midheaven. Hopefully this will bring the American Public's well being into focus.
