Neptune-Pluto Sextile Stuff

I just realized a couple of things about outer planet transits.  This would be a big doi for most astrologers I guess but I'm just catching on.

When you have a long term planetary aspect this means that no one born during that time will have an unaspected planet in his or her chart.

Am wondering how that works out for all of us who are born during this long Neptune-Pluto sextile.  It moves in and out of orb and has changed signs but so many people born within the last 50 or so years share it.  Because of their long orbits no one on earth can experience a full cycle of either of these planets.  It's sort of as if we have "talent" (sextile) for understanding what most generations before us thought was mystery.  Kind of interesting how our generations aren't producing any original art, Religion has been given backseat to Science, and We are extremely materialistic.  All the natural Neptune-Pluto interpretations seem to not exist.  The Pluto in Leos have strong belief in Astrology but the Pluto in Virgos and Libras don't seem to.

Lots of ways to translate this.

Both Pluto and Neptune rule Water signs.  Water is becoming the biggest concern with global warming. There's a study from out of a school in Wisconsin about how the tap water supplies in Wisconsin (maybe it was Minnesota) and California has fecal contamination because the underground plumbing infrastructure is broken. Just try going into a Health or Water dept to explain this.  You will get nothing but denial.  Actually the reaction is so Neptunian it's unbelievable.

The other planet which rules Water is the Moon.  This functions at the completely opposite side of the life span cycles in humans.  The Lunar Cycle is the first cycle a baby completes.  It's the shortest cycle and humans have way more Lunar Cycles than any other planet. I know, the Moon isn't a planet, it's a Moon.  Curing first year of life, Babies have at least 10 Lunar Returns before completing any other planetary cycle if they happen to have their first Mercury Return at its earliest which is 10 months.  Learning how to receive Love and to reflect it back is the most important human survival skill maybe.  Maybe we just need to develop ability to process hydration in our systems before anything else.

More About "The Whale"

Since I've been posting about Whales so much lately thought I'd look up the publication date for Moby Dick.

Wikipedia says that the book was published in the United States on Nov. 14, 1851, New York: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Moby-Dick. It was published a month earlier in Britain.

Whale, how about that Water Imagery? Neptune in Pisces, it's own sign. Sun in Scorpio. Moon at noon is at 1 Leo. There's a possibility that it could be considered a last degree of Cancer. That would certainly fit with "force of nature" imagery.

And there was a conjunction of Saturn-Pluto-Uranus over the Aries-Taurus cusp which was opposing Jupiter in Scorpio so we have major outer planet activity.

Fire in the Water Events

In the car this morning the news was spewing with the current astrological aspects. Currently there is a Jupiter-Uranus conjunction in Pisces, both retrograde. And Mercury is conjunct Venus Rx in Scorpio. And Mars is in Scorpio as well.

First off a Cholera Epidemic has started in Haiti, although it seems that it's not in the areas which seemed most likely to be affected by last January's earthquake. About 140 people have died in the past 2 days. The Moon today is in Aries. That makes for a fire water influence. Sure does indicate diarrhea and dehydration.

And San Jose has broken ground for a new waste water treatment facility that recycles waste water. Seems like Plutonian thing. Would have liked to have seen a couple more planets in Virgo for this event, though, in order to think that maybe the outcome will be related to Health.

Also, the Wikileaks website has disclosed many more military documents about all the screw-ups by the U.S. Military in the war in Afghanistan. Scorpio rules spying. Neptune probably does too. The official date for the disclosure was supposed to be at 10:00 am tomorrow morning (Oct. 23) somewhere in Europe. That's 5:00 am Washington Time. Puts Mars right on the H3 cusp. And Sun right at first degree Scorpio in H2. Maybe this will keep the markets from tanking next week. The news for the Stock Market seems very good, especially the Tech Stocks (run by Democrats).

Boy, the folks born at the end of Aquarius must sure be burning out by now with that conjunction of Neptune to Chiron on their Suns.

Annie Dillard on Water

From Annie Dillard's book Pilgrim at Tinker Creek:
Live water heals memories. I look up the creek and here it comes, the future, being borne aloft as on a winding succession of laden trays. You may wake and look from the window and breathe the real air, and say, with satisfaction or with longing, "This is it." But if you look up the creek, if you look up the creek in any weather, your spirit fills, and you are saying, with an exulting rise of the lungs, "Here it comes!"

Shark Attack - Solana Beach

A rare event, a Great White Shark killed a male swimmer off the coast of Northern San Diego County on Friday. I had just been reading about how in comparison with other tragics forms of death, there are very few Shark killings. The victim was a retired veterinarian, Dr. David Martin. I send my condolences to Dr. Martin's family and friends.

April 25, 2008 7:00 am, slightly after, Solana Beach, CA

In this chart, Taurus was rising. The Sun is in Taurus in the 12th House. Rex Bills says that Veterinarians are ruled by Mercury, Virgo (H12). Venus is the ruler of this chart and it is placed in the 12th House along with Mercury and the Sun so I suppose the Ascendant in this chart could indicate the Victim.

Scorpio is on the Descendant. Rex doesn't give a rulership for Sharks but I suspect that Scorpio and Pluto might be considered a ruler. While looking at this chart, though, I'm really struck by how the Aquarius Glyph looks like a Shark's mouth.

Pluto is at 2 Capricorn and is conjunct the Moon by a degree. It is placed in the 8th house. This, of course, is the house of Death and Murder but is also (imo) the House of intense interactions with Nature. This is certainly an appropriate aspect for something that attacks you from underneath while you are swimming out in the Ocean. Great White Sharks attack by sneaking up under their victims.

The crazy stuff comes because the Moon is out of bounds at 27 degrees, 25 minutes. Moon-Pluto is in an Earth Grand Trine aspect with Planets in the other 2 water houses. It's a literal description of being circled by a shark out in the waters. Saturn is at Virgo in the 4th house and the Sun is at 6 Taurus in the 12th house of hidden enemies/victims/veterinarians (weird combination, huh? 12th house is a complicated location in the chart).

Neptune at 24 Aquarius conjunct the North Node 25 Aquarius might somehow be contributing. The experts say that they think that this was a case of mistaken identity, that the shark figured the swimmer was a seal.

Something kind of interesting is that the only other confirmed Shark Attack Fatality off of San Diego waters happened on June 14, 1959 in La Jolla. At this point Saturn and Pluto were at the same points that they are now but in reverse order, i.e. Pluto in Virgo and Saturn in Capricorn trining at first degrees. A 33 year old man, Robert Pamperin, was fishing for abalone and the Shark lunged at his feet and swallowed him whole.

A woman kayaker was also found mauled by what apparently was a Shark on June 24, 1995. This isn't a confirmed death because it isn't known if she drowned first or if she was attacked.
