Autism, Vaccinations, and 1st Planetary Cycles

I'm fiddling with child development as related to 1st planetary cycles and various traumas, mostly divorce.  I thought I might propose a way of trying to track how a child will react to vaccinations according to when they are given vaccinations and booster shots as related to transits, cycles, progressions.  The idea here is that if a child has a tricky chart or transits which propose a bad reaction in some way then maybe it would be good to try to schedule around the transits and progressions and planetary cycles.  Autism is now diagnosed very early on so the cycles that could be involved would be Moon, Mercury, Venus, Sun, and Mars.

Age of onset of Autism in infancy appears as impaired social attachment. This links in nicely with the Mercury and Venus cycles which occur roughly 2 months to and after the first Solar Return (1st Birthday). Venus in Taurus Rulership = how we attach to things and Venus in Libra rulership = how we attach to people so Venus would be very much involved here.  Mercury rules communications in Gemini rulership and analysis in Virgo rulership.  So Mercury's involvement is also easy to see.

It's interesting that metals associated with those planets are thought by some theorists to be the reason why the autism happens.  Mercury rules Mercury, or quicksilver.  Copper is associated with the planet Venus. I don't think Copper has been considered part of the Autism problem.  Aluminum is ruled by Uranus which is the upper octave energy of Mercury.

Both Mercury and Venus are never farther from the Sun than by 2 signs.  So the Sun may also be involved. Sun rules vitality so is always to be considered in any health picture. I'd imagine that it would be best to try to get vaccinated on a day when the Sun is strongly aspected by transit in most cases unless the Sun in the natal chart is weak. Children under a Sun aspect might scream more so bring earplugs.  At least the kid is in fighting mode.

Autism is often diagnosed close to the first Mars cycle so it would be good to look at Mars.  The metal associated with Mars is Iron.  Mars rules the Head and Brain in Astrology (or partial rulership with Mercury and Venus).  Mars rules Motor Coordination.  Mercury rules fine motor coordination.  Venus probably rules fight or flight lower brain stem stuff.

Uranus which rules all circulatory systems such as blood and nerves.

There would be many aspects to look at.  I've mentioned the first planetary returns because these are considered by some astrologers as traumatic events within the soul even if not connected to anything in the outside world.  There's a great book by Betty Lunsted called Planetary Cycles.  I had been looking at charts on this topic for 2 years before I found it and I promise you the information is right now and it's well written.

Kids have their brain innoculated right out of their heads during their first year.  I think it would be great to check the vaccination schedules against the first planetary cycles and partial cycles (square, trine, opposition) with charts of kids who have illnesses which are suspected of being caused by vaccinations.   The most difficult transits in the early year could be the first mercury and Venus squares and oppositions.  It's difficult to say when these will occur be ause they are particular to each babies birthdates and the irregular motion of the transiting planets.

It is good to notice if either of these planets is retrograde at birth.

Then it is good to notice if there are significant Retrogrades during the first year to natal planets.  These would be great days/weeks to avoid vaccinations, I imagine.

If Mercury and Venus are in major aspect or in conjunction (associated with health) to other difficult planets Pluto and Neptune might show poisonings.  Uranus can cause all kinds of weird and unpredicatable things to go wrong. Saturn will show fear and sluggishness.

An interesting exercise is to find out when the first Mercury and Venus returns occurred in relation to the first Solar Return (1st Birthdate).  For example, if a child has his first Venus Return before the first Birthday and his first Mercury Return after the first birthday.  How does this affect his communication style as opposed to his social attachments and his self confidence (Sun)?Or any other order?

If one were to theorize, one might suspect be that a child with first returns of Venus or Mercury which happen before the first solar return would show a child whose vitality might be hampered by overstimulated mercury or Venus. That doesn't work in the only example I can think of.  Actors Marilyn Monroe and Andy Griffith were born on the same day and so both had first Mercury and Venus returns before their first birthdays.  They were famous actors, very Solar people who found great success in life early on. They went into their first birthdays with very well developed Mercury and Venus transits as both planets had moved full cycle through their charts already.  There's a lot more to look at here but I'm going to drop it.  I don't think either Monroe or Griffiths would have had vaccinations because vaccinations hadn't been invented yet but haven't looked it up.

On the other hand, Mercury and Venus returns which occur after the first solar return might show a sluggish communication or social interaction which suffered from a slow first planetary cycle which included a retrograde. This child might be more cautious in life but also miss out on opportunities because of reticence.  Retrogrades create long transits which mean that a person has to spend a lot of time digesting that one energy.  Sometimes that's good and sometimes it's bad.

Article saying that the courts have affirmed that autism is probably connected with vaccinations.http://intellihub.com/2013/08/11/courts-quietly-confirm-mmr-vaccine-causes-autism/

Thought I would look up the chart of Temple Grandin who is a very famous successful person with autism. Also, her birth data is available.  Unfortunately I can't find when Grandin was vaccinated so I'm just going to lay out the dates and hopefully not say too much else.

Grandin was born in 1947 which coincidentally is the year that the American Academy of Pediatrics (AAP) recommended routine use of the DPT vaccine.  This was a lethal combination super charger vaccination which lambasted the kids with too many different sauces and is thought to have been responsible for early examples of autism.  I think the whooping cough, pertussis vaccine, was defective as well.

Temple Grandin (from astrodatabank)
b. Aug. 29, 1947  2:30 pm
Boston, Mass

Sun 6 Virgo;  Moon 15 Aquarius;  ASC 13 Sagittarius;  MC 4 Libra;  NN 28 Taurus

Grandin is a Virgo Sun which means that through her Sun Sign alone she has a charged nervous system. This also explains why she's good with animals because Virgo is the sign of the Household Pet.  Her South Node is Scorpio which might show a toxic system of some sort which wants to purify. Interesting that Taurus is the sign of her North Node. Taurus is the sign of attachment to objects.  I remember Grandin describing how she slept in a special bed which hugged her and made her feel secure.

Astrodatabank says Grandin was diagnosed at age 3 but the Wikipedia article says she was diagnosed in 1949 at age 2. So, herewego. She had delayed speech development and didn't start talking until she was 4 years old.  This could show some sort of Mars Return thing or it could show a Jupiter thing depending on the dates.  Mars returns occur slightly faster than every two years.  Jupiter's first return isn't until about age 11 or 12.  It's first square to natal position is around age 3.  It's first trine is around Age 4 which is roughly the same time as the 2d Mars Return. The Jupiter partial cycle transits at these ages are connected with language development.  Grandin has Jupiter in the 11th House so it makes sense there would be something unusual going on here.

Grandin's natal Mars is at 11 Cancer and has a strong, difficult presence in her chart.  Mars is in Cancer is in the sign of its fall.  Mars wants to go and do, Cancer wants to feel and react. This could be a positive influence for having parents who help during illness and also of doing constructive work around the home.

Mars is also emphasized in Grandin's chart as a singleton in Cardinal and is out of bounds at 23 degrees, 30 minutes.

Mars is in Grandin's 7th House along with Uranus which is also out of bounds.  7th House is the house of partnerships and Uranus isn't really known to attach to other people's emotionally as easily as some of the other planets.  Uranus likes to be in groups rather than one on one.  Gemini is on the Descendant. So, seeing all these mental, freedom loving planets in the 7th House really does make sense in someone who is described as having an "Attachment Disorder."

7th House Mars is squaring natal Neptune-MC in Grandin's chart which could show some sort of poisoning through needles.  This is a strong angular square.

Her chart has more independent freedom loving aspects.

Grandin has a big close conjunction of the Sun-Mercury-Venus in Virgo in her 9th House.

She also has Sagittarius Rising with ruler Jupiter in Scorpio in her 11th House.  Jupiter/9th House rules Advanced Education and Grandin has advanced degrees.

The Sun-Mercury-Venus are in close conjunction.  Her first Mercury Return occurred before her first Birthday.  Her first Venus Return occurred after her first Birthday.

There was a very interesting conjunction of Mercury RX-Venus Rx to Temple Grandin's natal Uranus 28 Gemini at the end of June (29th) in 1948.  This is before her first Birthday.  This would be a very traumatic spiritual event affecting communication, ability to relate to others and her nervous system.  It would have happened in her 7th House of relationship as that is where Uranus is.

natal Mercury 7 Virgo
first Mercury Return Aug. 20, 1948.  Conjunct Sun and Saturn and opposing Moon.  It was a full Moon.

natal Venus 5 Virgo
First Venus Return Oct. 10, 1948.   Conjunct Saturn 4 Virgo and South Node 6 Virgo.

natal Mars 11 Cancer
First Mars Return  August 7, 1949.  Conjunct Uranus 4 Cancer and squaring Neptune 13 Libra.
Mars has a Retrograde once every 2 years.  Grandin's first Mars Rx stationed right over her natal Sun-Mercury-Venus conjunction and then retrograded back to her natal Saturn-Pluto conjunction in Leo.  This could show some serious inflammation and infection.

Solar Maximum

Scientists expect the South Pole of the sun to flip within the next 3 to 4 months.  The Sun's North Pole flipped last year.  That's weird.  I don't understand this at all.  This solar maximum cycle occurs about every 11 years.

Neptune-Pluto Sextile Stuff

I just realized a couple of things about outer planet transits.  This would be a big doi for most astrologers I guess but I'm just catching on.

When you have a long term planetary aspect this means that no one born during that time will have an unaspected planet in his or her chart.

Am wondering how that works out for all of us who are born during this long Neptune-Pluto sextile.  It moves in and out of orb and has changed signs but so many people born within the last 50 or so years share it.  Because of their long orbits no one on earth can experience a full cycle of either of these planets.  It's sort of as if we have "talent" (sextile) for understanding what most generations before us thought was mystery.  Kind of interesting how our generations aren't producing any original art, Religion has been given backseat to Science, and We are extremely materialistic.  All the natural Neptune-Pluto interpretations seem to not exist.  The Pluto in Leos have strong belief in Astrology but the Pluto in Virgos and Libras don't seem to.

Lots of ways to translate this.

Both Pluto and Neptune rule Water signs.  Water is becoming the biggest concern with global warming. There's a study from out of a school in Wisconsin about how the tap water supplies in Wisconsin (maybe it was Minnesota) and California has fecal contamination because the underground plumbing infrastructure is broken. Just try going into a Health or Water dept to explain this.  You will get nothing but denial.  Actually the reaction is so Neptunian it's unbelievable.

The other planet which rules Water is the Moon.  This functions at the completely opposite side of the life span cycles in humans.  The Lunar Cycle is the first cycle a baby completes.  It's the shortest cycle and humans have way more Lunar Cycles than any other planet. I know, the Moon isn't a planet, it's a Moon.  Curing first year of life, Babies have at least 10 Lunar Returns before completing any other planetary cycle if they happen to have their first Mercury Return at its earliest which is 10 months.  Learning how to receive Love and to reflect it back is the most important human survival skill maybe.  Maybe we just need to develop ability to process hydration in our systems before anything else.

Show and Tell and the Sagittarius nn

Story that illustrates the transit of the Sagittarius/gemini nodal axis. A kindergartner brought his mom's drug paraphernalia to class to share with the other kids. His 32 year old mother was then arrested and later released on bail.

http://news.yahoo.com/kindergartener-brings-crack-pipe-meth-show-tell-202314001.html.

Gemini and Sagittarius are all about communication and schooling. This year is just made for interesting show and tells. The kids are going to be learning all kinds of things. So are the teachers. And, uh, hopefully the parents. A kindergartner is usually having his first nodal square which happens right before the 5th birthday. This little boy was probably born with a Virgo nn. What better sign to help mama figure out that she would benefit from rehab than a little sharing session from her adoring son?

Too bad it doesn't really work that way. The nodal axis transits in backward motion so it will soon move into Taurus and Scorpio, signs which are known for holding on to situations for good or bad. Mom will probably go to rehab this year and meet someone who introduces her to an even worse recreation.

CChildren go through a major stage of development every 5th year of childhood which seems to equal the first challenging aspects of their nodal axis cycle. The Gesselle institute wrote that children actually seem to plateau at a level of security in their personality development. They literally call the ages of 5 and 10 "nodal points" in stages of development.

Nuclear Radiation

This is another one of my hair-brained connections, but while browsing through the current Newsweek article about the Nuclear Power planet disaster in Japan (Mar. 28/Apr. 4 issue) I noticed that the "shelf life" for 2 out of the 3 different types of radiation correspond to a Saturn Return. That is, they last for 29 years.

Strontium 90 can be inhaled or ingested through contaminated food or water. It is similar to calcium by chemical make-up so goes straight for the bones. Bones are ruled by Saturn! Exposure increases the risk of bone cancer and leukemia.

Cesium 137 is the dealiest radiation. It sticks to dust, can be inhaled or ingested, can even be picked up while walking on soil, (and lasts for 29 years!) Its gamma radiation penetrates into the body causing cancer everywhere.

The least toxic Radiation is from Iodine 129 & 131. This has a shelf life of only 8 days. It settles into the grass, is ingested by cows and ends up in concentrated form in milk. It goes into the thyroid gland and causes thyroid cancer. I forgot to look up thyroid gland, that's in the neck, isn't it? That would be Venus/Taurus rulership maybe. There's a Sun/Venus cycle which takes 8 years.

Would it be possible to try to "guess" who would be most affected by these different types of radiation by looking at placement of Saturn in their charts? Are people who are going through a difficult Saturn transit right now more vulnerable? I wouldn't have thought to look at Saturn for radiation poisoning so I'm only placing a guess right now.

Hydrogen, ruled by Neptune according to Bills, was the first thing that the nuclear reactors began to leak right after the tsunami (also ruled by Neptune).

The Sound Only Teenagers Can Hear

A high pitched sound, known as "The Mosquito", is something only teenagers can hear. Back in 2008 it was being sold as a ring tone for cell phones that kids could use in class. The teachers couldn't hear when their phones were ringing. The Astrology of the Teenage Years. Man, that must be some trippy stuff. I remember that Dell Magazine published some articles about this years back. The teens probably being with the Jupiter Return which comes on Average at around Age 11. Then there is the first Progressed Lunar Opposition to itself, probably around Age 13. And then the first Saturn opposition to itself at around Age 14. These ages vary widely. There are also a bunch of tertiary or minor progressed returns of the Inner Planets (sorry, I've blanket out which, should look that up). They occur at different times because of Retrogrades. Chiron will also make its first square to its natal position approximately Age 12.5. So, kids at that age are loaded with information.

Then there seems to be nothing much at all happening until the Nodal Return which comes a couple of months before the 19th Birthday. Except for kids who have natal Sun-Venus conjunctions. They get a special Sweet Sixteen present because those two planets complete their second Return together.

I'm back to listening to my Brilliant College Lectures about Aging and Sensations. We lose our hearing when we get older, but, apparently not as much as Doctors used to think. It turns out that testing older people for sensations gets extra tricky because of the Saturn Effect. We become much more cautious to say when we do and don't hear the little tones in the hearing tests. The class even explains what kind of deafness Beethoven suffered from. Boney things in his ears. Beethoven was a Double Sagittarius with Scorpio Rising. That means that his Sun first progressed into Capricorn when he was pretty young. Then once it had progressed into Aquarius, his Ascendant progressed into Capricorn. That could make a person hard-working, grumpy, and could affect the hearing. Apparently he could still hear when he put his head directly on the piano. Maybe Mosquitos are Capricorns. Who knows? Actually I think that they must have some mutable sign stuff in there as well.

You can test your own hearing in the following article about this sound.

Planetary Cycles and the San Bruno Gasline Explosion

It's not a surprise that last year's stressful outer planet t-square made between Saturn-Uranus and Pluto could have brought some break-downs in anything having to do with infrastructure. It did bring a lot of fixes as Obama channeled stimulus funds into that area. Roads, plumbing, telecom got fixed. Cyber security was probably studied, but Wikileaks showed where some of the vulnerabilities were.

Article in today's San Francisco Chronicle, Feb. 6, 2011. Article discusses the findings for why the underground gas lines blew up in San Bruno, CA on Sept. 9. It'll be somewhere on the sfgate.com website. I went over there and got distracted.

"PG&E spiked 'highest risk' line: pressure increased on East Bay pipe despite 'high likelihood' of failure." by Eric Nalder and Jaxon an Derbeken.

Inspectors have honed down two most likely reasons for the explosion: Vulnerable welds in the pipes and pressure spikes in the gaslines. They've known all along that the pipes which were installed by a company called A.O. Smith way back when had big problems with this.

The astrology is totally amazing. There was also a huge t-square aspect between Saturn-Uranus and Pluto back in 1930 in Cardinal Signs. Jupiter was also hanging out in the aspect as well. I continually observe about how a natal chart is more vulnerable to transits when the transits mirror the natal aspects. Here we have a great example of that. Everyone knows that an 80 year old pipeline is old and might explode, especially in California where things were built very quickly to accommodate rapid growth.

Making this transit even more vulnerable, connecting the years 1930 with 2010 is the fact that this is a Uranus Return for the pipes. Uranus in Pisces, to be exact. And Pisces rules oil and gas.

PGE intentionally increased pressure (Mars?) on its line on June 19, 2009 on the Fremont-Livermore line 107. I don't know why that has any effect on the lines which run through San Bruno which is on the other side of the Bay from there and is sort of at the mouth of where Lines 109 and 132 split off and run up in to San Francisco. There's some weird talk about how there's a gold course in Pinol that should have been blown off the map with the power surge. I can totally understand how anything associated with Neptune would avoid the golfers, but I have a really bizarre sense of humor.

Line 132 is the one that exploded. But this "long festering issue" on line 107 out in the golf course is to blame, though. The article shows a map. You can see how far apart these are. I guess a fireball started underneath the golf course in Pinol and blasted down through Fremont and towards Milpitas (this is an area which reeks of Asian food pools under the freeway because they built into the Wetlands and the plumbing doesn't drain). Then after the fireball hit Milpitas it switched over to Sunnyvale which also doesn't drain, and then over to Mountain View, which also doesn't drain, and then up through Los Altos and Palo Alto and what's above Palo Alto? They've been working on the plumbing in parts of Palo and Redwood City, so they might occassionally drain. These lines run up along the freeway 280 so they pretty much miss where people live. Wow, that's a bizarre explanation these scientists and engineers have dreamed up. I'm just an Astrology Buff so I can believe pretty much anything, but this Science is really a big mystery. I mean, I get it how some golfer ate too many burritos for lunch thus launching the fireball from the country club bathroom, plus those golfers wear really ugly clothes, not good for Neptune sensibilities at all, but ... well, guess you had to be there. It's Science.

Taking a Leak With Julian Assange

The United States has sort of become a fire hydrant for The Wikileaks website to lift its leg on. The website has published huge quantities of dangerous information related to U.S. Diplomatic relations. It has already leaked various bits to newspapers around the world for about the last 2 months (heard on NPR this morning while driving). The poor schmucks at those newspapers are trying to analyze it. Fie. What's a Pluto in Virgo generation to do? The previous leaks which the website have buzzed us with gathered no real attention, so maybe this will be the big deal.

Pluto is conjunct the North Node in Capricorn right now to the degree. This is hitting Secretary of State Hillary Clinton's progressed Sun and Mercury at 7 and 4 Capricorn, respectively. Geez, can someone give that woman a break? Her Progressed Mercury is out of bounds as well. Transiting Mercury and Mars are too.

Hillary was born about 2 seconds (slight exagg) after an Rx Station of Mercury and she dealt with it during her entire childhood (up to about 1962-63) and it's her chart ruler, so she's probably getting hit in a spot where she's got some residual insecurities left over from childhood. With this Mercury, she's always had to put extra effort into making sure that all the t-s are crossed, all the i's dotted, and all the diplomats who work for her know what they are doing.

The official release of the documents for Greenwich Mean Time (I think) is

Wikileaks does it again
Nov. 28, 2010 9:30 pm GMT

Sun 7 Sagittarius; Moon 8 Virgo; ASC 19 Leo; MC 3 Taurus; NN 4 Capricorn

depending on where the Leaks was published from this chart will change.

This particular chart has unaspected Saturn in Libra down in the 3d house. How's that for a little lesson on being on your own while perfecting the fine art of diplomatic relations? As exposed by the media, the internet, and some scatter brains who can't figure out what else to do with their lives.

Venus (women) is also in the 3d House of this chart. Venus is at 30 Libra. That symbolizes a woman, in literal format. That also means that transiting Venus is conjunct Hillary's Sun at 3 Scorpio. And that's good for America because she's gonna sckooch us on through this. I mean the shit that Wikileaks is publishing is probably nothing compared with what China, Russia, and Israel haven't already been ciphering out of the web for 10 years already anyway. Think of this as a big lesson in Military and Security issues in how America the Beautiful Communicates.

The chart has the exact conjunction of Pluto-NN in the 5th House. It also has a square between Sun and Moon from H2 to H4. And it will have an exact conjunction of Neptune to Chiron in Pisces which is the 7th House (that represents Assange). These aspects are very tight in orb which means that they've been coming to a head for a while.

Interesting that the above chart has the same Ascendant (18-19 Leo) as is in Hillary's Progressed Chart. Hillary's natal and progressed Saturn and Pluto are hanging out right over this point! President Obama's Sun is at 13 Leo so he's included as well.

So, what's the real story here? Dunno. Saturn and Pluto? Wow, that's just a whole lot of reality, man. I just wanted to talk about Julian Assange' childhood in this post, not this other stuff. From the little info that's available it sounds like Assange was sort of raised in an anti-reality machine or something. His parents ran a circus or something. His Mother married a jerk and she and her two sons had to go into hiding to get away from the guy.

But, first, the Wikileaks release chart. It sort of looks like a case of TMI. Too much information. Jupiter in Pisces. Jupiter traveling in conjunction with Uranus back and forth over the Pisces/Aries cusp for almost the last year. Neptune is conjunct Chiron to the degree in Aquarius in H7 and there's a Sun-Moon square in mutable signs. Mercury conjunct Mars in Sagittarius. Both out of bounds. This just sort of shows a lot of babbling with no direction to me. Truthiness? The information will hurt in small ways. Out of the zillions of bits of notes that have been looked at I heard on the radio that one reporter estimates there are about 100 stories to tell.

It just also looks a little bit staged and controlled. The major emphasis in the chart is a huge square of planets over the 5th and 8th Houses. In the 5th House of Risks, Entertainment, Ego trips, Military Might, and putting on a Striptease Act or something: Mars is conjunct Mercury in Sagittarius. These two planets are both out of bounds and they are loosely conjunct Pluto-NN on the same degree of Capricorn. These are squaring Jupiter-Uranus in Pisces up in the 8th House. That's power tripping. If you want to enlighten us, don't do it directly from the shadowy 8th House, it will sound like you're talking from under water. With Taurus Midheaven (and I'm not sure it really is Taurus because I don't have the place of publishing) there is some sort of Dictatorial Need to take control.

So, on to Julian Assange's troubled childhood which is panning out for him on the world stage just fine, unless of course, he is in the middle of committing suicide right now because he's not as powerful as he would like to be.

Only birth date I have for Assange is his year, 1971, who knows if that is correct. This means that he has natal Pluto in Virgo. That means that he has been going through his Pluto square. That's a good time to be accused of spying and rape. And, as I said, it's a good time to turn into that which you hate and have unhealthy obsessions over. We don't always know what we hate until after we have turned into it and someone tells us to go look in the mirror. Some healers say that Pluto represents transformation. Overall, I'd say that humans are too stupid to do transformation.

Pluto and Neptune are the planets which humans can never really grasp. They have super long transiting orbits. We can never complete a full orbit of them during our short life times. And if you haven't felt how the planet touches every last bit of your soul, I'm sorry, you can't claim it. So Neptune and Pluto are sort of the mystery spots for what human individuals can and can't understand in life. You know Pluto. You always have to ask "WTF?" when Pluto's around. (Neptune you just alwasy say a plain old "Wha?") Pluto's motivations are way beyond comprehension. Sex. Death. Taxes. We have to trust that things will work out, and they will, about 3 years after a major Neptune or Pluto transit. That's how long it takes to recover or wake up or come out of hiding or ween off the pharamceuticals, for everyone except the Uranians. Most of us don't even get a complete Uranus Return. That happens at about Age 83.

And without any information about Assange I just got curious about a couple of things and wanted to take a look at them from the point of view of my Astrology Research project on Children of Divorce in which I notice that 1st planetary returns hold trauma within a child over his lifetime.

There's a recurring theme in Assange's life having to do with custody battles during divorce. Assange went through hell moving around while his Mother and StepFather fought over his brother. This would have occurred between 1982 (Saturn c. Pluto) and 1987 roughly. Then, Assange went through the same thing with his own son later on.

Talking about feeling like an outsider, wow.

I'm trying to see if there is a connection between big custody battles and Ceres and Pluto in children. In mythology, Pluto, lord of the underworld, abducts Ceres' daughter Persephone. Ceres goes ape face and calls a drought on the land so Pluto makes a deal and returns Persephone to her Mother above land for 6 months out of the year and then takes her back for the other 6. Ceres here is the parent, and Pluto is a Child Molestor, not a Father. But you get the picture. We never hear from the child, Persephone. And this myth is repeating over and over again in the households of America even as we speak.

For my research I want to assume that Assange's own parents divorce during his 1st Ceres return. My thesis is that kids can become stuck in the growth stage of development at whatever is the most recent planetary return. For Assange this would be around Age 4 or 5. There are a bunch more influences at this age. Jupiter is making first hits to itself, the square at age 3 and the trine at age 4. Juno and Pallas are having returns. The whole Belt of asteroids held between Mars and Jupiter's orbs is having returns at this time. Assange doesn't seem to have much influence from those, especially Pallas, who is the Goddess, Divine Wisdom, who added the concept of adding mercy to the harsh black and white thinking of the judicial system. Sort of the beginnings of the Jesus myth, not Pluto revenge stuff. So that could be Pluto. Or it could be Ceres because remember how p'o'd she got and who can blame her. The Nodal Return cycle is also very closely linked in time to Ceres with its first square to itself at about age 4.5 ish.

And what I would look for in this case is to see if later Ceres Returns have brought Assange back to sort of the same unhealed place that he was in during the first difficult version. Ceres' orbit is too fast to ever know this unless talking to the guy himself and he seems particularly close lipped on his own personal stuff (it may not actually be secretive, it may just be that no one ever bothered to ask him, a Child of D thing).

It's interesting, though, to see that Ceres was in Sagittarius and conjunct Neptune at least for a time during 1982 when his Mother separated from his stepfather and took the family into hiding. That indicates the wanderlust that Assange continues to have. He was in hiding with his Mother and Brother for apparently about 5 years. That's from Age 7 (approx) to Age 12. That takes us from his first prog.Moon/Saturn square to his first Jupiter Return.

Ceres was again in Sagittarius in 1991 for a time when Assange broke up with his own first lover and began a long custody battle. Pluto was in Scorpio, his own sign, during all these years which emphasizes perhaps a prominent hidden theme here.

I'm not sure what Assange was doing the whole time that Pluto was passing through Sagittarius, I guess just hacking into past and current girlfriend's emails and stuff, such a fun guy. My Mother had a Sagittarius boyfriend who recorded telephone conversations with her and offered them to my brother after she died.

Ceres again hit Sagittarius at the beginning of last year. So I guess this meant that Assange's stress recurred and he decided to abduct all kinds of boring information from Hillary Clinton's natal Mercury Retrograde. How can these guys be so smart and so stupid at the same time? At any rate, this helped me to waste a bunch of time.

Assange, you're getting in the way of Anderson Cooper's face on the broadcast. My eyesight isn't what it used to be and so all I can really see is premature grey hair. I can't tell, did North Korea just bomb South Korea or not? Oh, is that the cute Gay guy or the rapist, computer hacker? Thank God I'm too old for both of them.

The RSVP Cycles

The RSVP Cycles was a textbook I read for an experimental music class in college. Having grown up in Southern California in the 1960s in a town where 35 modernist architects lived, one of whom was my Father, I think I took this type of thinking for granted. The book was written by Lawrence Halprin, a landscape architect, (and innovator) and his wife, Anna Halprin, who is a dancer, choreographer (and healer and innovator). RSVP stands for "Resources" "Score" "Valuaction" and "Performance." There's a nice explanation on Wikipedia. These principles propose a new way of understanding how to create, sort in the way that John Cage's books do, but with more structure. For the music class it was a text on composition. It could just as easily be a text on design, or dance, or painting, or anything else. Beyond that, I have to say that I didn't really "get the whole idea." Lessons in those days were usually kept pretty vague as a way of avoiding any authoritarian set rules.

What attracts me now is the word "Cycles," especially connected with the word RSVP, since I'm so much into studying Return Cycles as points of development. Lawrence Halprin passed away last year in 2009 on October 25. There must have been a mention in a newspaper somewhere about this anniversary on Monday that caught the corner of my eye because I suddenly started thinking about that book.

So, I decided to take a look at Anna and Lawrence Halprin's charts. What I found is a really amazing pair of Sun-Venus conjunction people. Sun-Venus is related to both the Arts, Harmony, Balance and Beauty, and also Marriage Partners. I can't find astro data about their actual marriage and don't know if they remained married. It appears that they stayed together, but with Uranus leading both of their chart shapes they probably kept their relationship pretty loose.

Not only did they share the conjunction but they shared it in the same sign in Cancer. The sign of Cancer is really appropriate for people who are involved in environmental design. (Think Buckminster Fuller, Tesla, Viktor Schauberger). Water is an extremely important element in Lawrence Halprin's design. The idea of allowing things to evolve and to grow from a seed is also a Cancerian ideal.

What's even more interesting is that Lawrence Halprin, who was born first in 1916, had a natal Sun conjunct Venus Retrograde and Pluto in Cancer. Sun-Venus conjunction people sometimes follow a really interesting 8 year cycle of 5 which is related to the proportions of the Golden Mean. It appears that Sun-Venus Rx people follow a 4 year Return cycle as well. Lawrence was going through a Sun-Venus Return at Age 4 when his wife was born. Both even have the conjunction aspect connected with outer planets by conjunction, but not in major aspect to other planets. Lawrence had a huge stellium in Cancer with Pluto, Sun, Venus Rx, Lilith, Saturn and possibly Moon.

Anna's Sun-Venus conjunction is later on in the sign at 21-24 degrees. Her Pluto is 8 Cancer.

It's really fascinating to flip the animation wheel on the software program and watch how the Sun-Venus Rx conjunctions cycle back on through every year on Lawrence's Birthdays in childhood. I said before that Sun and Venus seem to have been in conjunction every four years (something I don't understand because I thought this occurred every 8 years). Lawrence also experienced really intense Sun-Pluto conjunctions every year on his Birthday for about the first 10 years of his life.

Because Pluto is placed farther apart from her Sun, Anna also would have had the same type of Solar Return aspect every year during her childhood starting from about Age 6 or 7 and lasting through High School. That explains their need to completely change and transform their environment and ways of healing. They shared a very deep emotional core, that's for sure. They must have been left alone a lot as kids.

Robert Blaschke Predicts Some Enchanted Evenings

The Mountain Astrologer website has just posted an interesting article about a Venus-Mars conjunction cycle written by Robert Blaschke: "Aberrations in the Venus-Mars Cycles."

(In the event of typos here's the link: http://mountainastrologer.com/tma/aberrations-in-the-venus-mars-cycle)

Blaschke describes a cycle between Venus Rx and Mars which repeats a 77-month cycle (6.42 years) and a 32-year cycle between the planets. It seems that the invention of the pill and the feminist movement have disrupted the regularity of this cycle since the 1960s and things won't get back into the swing of things until the last half of this century.

But, that won't stop us from trying, now, will it? The sky is going to plant a new set of three love trysts between the two this next Fall and Winter. Maybe it's a good time to buy Stock in Condoms...

So, if single and interested, prepare to hit the Bars and/or Twelve Step Programs on these dates for A Good Time, especially if the following degrees hit your 5th or 7th Houses, or necessary planets:

HUBBA: Aug. 20, 1010 -- 14 Libra (whispering sweet nothings)

HUBBA: Oct. 3, 2010 -- 13 Scorpio (doing the deed)

HUBBA: May 23, 2011 -- 10 Taurus (massages, fine dining, fights over money begin)

Dr. Franz Halberg - Chronobiology

Now that the Sun has woken up we can perhaps expect more problems with Heart Attacks. At least in Minnesota where Dr. Franz Halberg has spent more than 50 years studying Chronobiology in humans this might be the case. Working at the University of Minnesota Halberg has found that Heart Attacks occur on a 10.5 year cycle which correlates with the Solar Cycle. He has also found significant cycles in human healing relating to 7 days and 1.3 years and others.

A fascinating article about Halberg published in Minnesota Medicine (2005; 88(110); 26) called "Father Time" by Kim Kizer.

Dr. Halberg has doubled the cure rate of cancerous tumors simply by determining the best time to treat the patients. His wife was one of his patients. He has also found that chances for stroke can be greatly reduced by following individual blood pressure fluctuations in patients. Even treatment can be enhanced by following the individual cycles of a human.

“One of the big mistakes that’s made
is to believe that we can treat by clock hours,” he says. “We
have to treat by body times.”

Dr. Franz Halberg
B. July 5, 1919 Romania (no town given so I set chart for Bucharest)

Sun 13 Cancer; Moon Libra; NN 2 Sagittarius

I was looking for the Significance of Saturn in Dr. Halberg's chart, especially to see if Saturn relates to Pluto because I remembered that the guy who created the Atomic Clock had a strong Sun-Saturn-Pluto link. Well, that's wrong of course because we're not looking for Atomic timing (I'm not sure if it really is the Atomic clock, could be something else, is just very precise, I wrote about him somewhere on this blog). Anyway, with Pluto in Capricorn which is Saturn's sign of rulership I guess we will learn all kinds of things about timing and will return to the fine science of direct observation. Halberg has natal Sun in Cancer which is the sign opposite Capricorn and his Sun is conjunct natal Pluto in Cancer. So, that's the Sun-Pluto connection. That shows a caring Doctor who is receptive to his patients' needs (I think they've become obsolete these days) and who also excels at research. And his Saturn is in Leo so it disposits to the Sun.

Natal Saturn is conjunct Venus and is opposing Uranus. Now this makes sense. Uranus rules cycles and circulatory systems. Have to say that I don't understand Venus' relevance here except to say that Halberg has worked his whole life with the women in his family, his wife and his daughters. Venus rules harmonizing, balancing, etc. It's probably a very overlooked planet in researcher's charts.

Much of Halberg's research surrounds illnesses related to the heart which really shows the significance of his Saturn (Timing). He has 4 planets in the sign of Leo. Mercury is conjunct Neptune at the beginning of Leo and Venus is conjunct Saturn at the end of Leo.

Very interesting to observe the progressions of Mercury and the Sun. Because of a Retrograde roughly between the years 1947 and 1970, Halberg' progressed Mercury didn't leave Leo until until 1985. It was in conjunction with the Saturn-Uranus opposition in his chart for much of that time which could explain why he was able to concentrate so strongly on these specific observations. (It's an out of sign opposition, Uranus is at 2 Pisces Rx but has backtracked into Aquarius for his entire life). The progressed Sun passed through Leo for 30 years. It his Mercury-Saturn around 1967-68-69.

The influence of Dr. Halberg's Uranus is further emphasized in his chart as it is the handle of a Sling Chart. Solar Fire distinguishes between sling charts and bucket charts I guess. It looks as if Uranus is set off from the rest of the planets which are within a bundle. Either way, this puts an emphasis on innovation, new thoughts, futuristic thinking and, within the body, the circulatory system and cycles and also the shins and ankles. He also has no planets in Earth. We tend to be attracted to whatever our charts lack and this is perhaps why such a futurist stuck with Western Medicine and Science. It sounds as if nobody is disputing his research, they're just more interested in making pills these days than in figuring out how to administer them. Halberg's Venus is just coming out of Retrograde this year in the sign of Virgo so perhaps the damned AMA will finally come around.

The "Night Shining"

Another great article in New Scientist Magazine, April 10, 2010: "Mysterious 'night shinig clouds have a solar controller." p. 14.

Clouds that are placed very high up in the atmosphere. They glow at night. And they may be linked to the Sun's rotation on its axis. Both follow a 27 day cycle.

Researcher is Charles Robert of the University of Bremen, Germany.

Birth and Death

No, this blog won't be some expose on the movies of Woody Allen. I just had a thought about yesterday's blog. The book that I'm looking at these days on the Body Clock. One of the bits of info I picked up on in yesterday's blog entry was that the most common time of day to die is around 6 am. That's vaguely around the time that the Sun Rises over the Ascendant.

While I was reading that Statistic I assumed, probably the way that most Doctors do, that the shock of waking up puts the extra added stress on the body and shocks the system, overloads the circuits, and turns the whole contraption off. Good Bye.

Then I remembered hearing from Astrologers that the Ascendant often describes the conditions of one's physical birth. Connection with physical death is just really interesting. And, while time marches on with the Sun rising over the Ascendant, the planets in the birth chart will progress in the opposite direction, counterclockwise. Is life a constant psychological progression of swimming up a stream against the natural flow of the current? Sure does feel like it.

The Ascendant represents the beginning of the Astrological Cycle just as it represents Spring, the beginnings of the Seasonal Cycle. It also represents the ending of the chart. Talk about a tough transition to make.

Cole Porter wrote about all this in his song: "Ev'ry Time We Say Goodbye."

Everytime we say goodbye, I die a little,
Everytime we say goodbye, I
wonder why a little,
Why the gods above me, who must be in the know.
Think
so little of me, they allow you to go.
When youre near, theres such an air of
spring about it,
I can hear a lark somewhere, begin to sing about
it,
Theres no love song finer, but how strange the change from major
to
Minor,
Everytime we say goodbye.

Birthing is also represented by Cancer and the IC which represents the egg.
Scorpio and the 8th House. Very interesting that those houses are associated with Death also. The 1st House just represents the physical body part of Death.

(Interesting to look at Cole Porter's chart with regards to his Ascendant. He was a Double Gemini with a Cancer Moon. His Sun was conjunct the Ascendant from the 1st House while a conjunction of Neptune-Pluto was conjunct the Ascendant from the 12th House. So the midpoint between Sun and Neptune-Pluto would have been very close to his Ascendant. Also, in 1944 when he wrote "Evry time we say good-bye" Uranus was transiting over Neptune-Pluto. )

Venus and the Crazy 8

I've already tried to blog on this transit before and was wondering if there were any connections between the Venus Pentagonal Synodic Cycle and current events which seem to promote the number 8. As Venus is currently in Retrograde in the sign of Aries I guess it makes sense that all of a sudden I'm wondering about her transits again.

For information about the Venus series please see Nick Anthony Fiorenza's article called " The Venus Transits: The Pentagonal Cycle of Venus." Link is here:

http://www.lunarplanner.com/HCpages/Venus.html

We are currently living a once in a lifetime, actually once about every 230 or so year planetary event that occurs between a lineup of the earth, Venus and the Sun. These transits happen in pairs that are set 8 years apart. During these times, Venus passes in front of the Sun from the Earth's point of view. The first line up occurred on June 8, 2004 and the last one will occur on June 6, 2012. The Mayans used the Venus cycles for astronomical purposes because they are so precise and I believe their last tracking may be the 2012 date. (I may not be correct about this) Maybe this is Prophecy. Maybe the Spaniards slaughtered the Scribe before he could paint the next cycle on the wall of the observatory.

2008 was the middle year of the cycle. This was when the Olympics was started on the famous 8/8/08 date. 8 is a favorite number for the Chinese who held the Olympics. And now it turns out that Nadya Suleman was impregnated with the first surviving set of Octuplets in 2008.

Anyways, 2008 was a bad year for Money which is one of Venus' major rulerships. Venus stayed hanging around the Ascendant for the Opening Bell charts of the NY Stock Exchange for months and months.

Venus also rules the sign of Libra which rules Partnerships, Diplomacy, and apparently voting in a President who is strong with these qualities. I thought that perhaps this would indicate a woman President but was wrong. Either way, women are strongly represented in the Government. Venus doesn't generally seek to lead anyway.

Neil F. Michelsen's "Planetary Phenonmena"

The other day I sold about $100 worth of books to a used bookstore and received $12.00 in return. I immediately turned around and spent $16 on books. Someday I will know how to sell things on ebay and my book buying addiction will stop being a financial exercise in the fine art of subtraction.

On the other hand I bought the coolest astrology book. It's Neil F. Michelsen's Tables of Planetary Phenomena which I've never seen before. This is like an Ephemeris of all things that an Ephemeris doesn't list. As a matter of fact, all the stuff that I really really need right now. Lists of Eclipses from 1700-2050, lists of Ingresses, some weird chapter on the Sun's Retrograde, Moon phases, planetary clusters, etc. etc. etc. And Cycles, Cycles, Cycles!!! The back of the book has the best part. There are graphs of planetary cycles with regards to the planet's retrograde motions and relationships to each other. Michelsen calls them Mandalas and yesiree, they are hypnotic.

If you've ever looked at Erin Sullivan's book on Retrogrades you've seen the amazing cycles of Venus, Mercury and Mars. It's been a while so I can't really remember what all is in there. Venus has a very precise 8 year retrograde cycle which has 5 spokes. Michelsen shows the 16 year cycle which shows an almost perfect overlay of the 2d 8 years over the 1st 8 years. I've talked about this before and there are some amazing websites on the internet that explain these cycles clearly. The rest of the orbital patterns aren't as precisely made. Mercury pretty much completes a 19 spoke flower pattern over a period of 6 years. Mars completes a 15 spoke flower over a period of 33 years. Hope I counted correctly. It's difficult not to believe that these proportions don't mean something but who knows what.

The planet to planet graphs are extraordinary as well. The ones that I'm attracted seem to be completely different from what Michelsen is attracted to. The Venus/Mercury cycle looks like a kindergartern version of the Jupiter/Saturn cycle to me. I'll quote him because his descriptions are really fun:

(from p. 227)
"I often asked people who viewed the mandalas to report the subejctive impression made on them by the mandala pattern. For example, I see Mercury/Venus, Figure 31, as an insect with two bulbous eyes and a maw of a mouth. I see Venus/Mars, Figure 35, as a spider, in its web, waiting for its next meal! I see Uranus/Pluto, Figure 47, a creature with two claws extended, ready to clamp on to an unsuspecting victim.

"Isn't it striking that Venus/Earth, Figure 34, is a heart pattern?! Venus, the Goddess of love, when joined with Earth, is a heart. Most of the other patterns are more geometric -- Jupiter/Uranus, Figure 41, I see as a Mogen-David, the Jewish six-pointed star symbol.
It would be fun to put up a website where people can share their impressions of these mandalas.

Johannes Mehserle, BART Police Shooter

Johannes Mehserle is the ex-Oakland BART Train police officer who killed a hand cuffed man in the back on New Year's Day. I wrote about the incident a few days ago. Mehserle has been charged with Murder and has surrendered to Oakland Police.

Can't vouch for its accuracy, but Mahalo.com and a SFGate.com article have listed a birth date for Mehserle. The chart is really incredible from an Astrological point of view. According to that website and the article which is available at this link:

http://www.sfgate.com/cgi-bin/article.cgi?f=/c/a/2009/01/06/BAK61540MH.DTL:

Johannes Mehserle
b. Jan 5, 1981 (no place given)(probably wrong birth date so maybe scroll down and read about the similarity between this incident and the Stanford Prison Experiment).

Sun 16 Capricorn; Moon most likely Capricorn; NN 11 Leo

If this is correct, Mehserle was 3 degrees away from his Solar Return. And the Solar Return would involve a conjunction of the Sun to Mars and Pluto. According to the SFGate article, the shooting happened, Mehserle's wife gave birth to a Son and Mehserle had a Birthday. Wow. Mars can indicate violence, but it can also indicate having a Son.

If this birth date is correct, Mehserle is a Double Capricorn. On bad days this can indicate an overbearing streak and authoritarian attitude. On the other end of the Capricorn spectrum, this can indicate a heavy Karmic side involving intense lessons concerning guilt and shame, difficult lessons. Capricorns tend to have to play by the rules because they often can't get away much. The Leo North Node could repeat the Bossiness theme and Mars conjunct South Node could further emphasize this along with an impulsive streak that acts before it thinks.

Chiron squares the Nodes and Mars. This indicates some kind of wounding wound up in one's destiny with fighting and aggression. The Mars energy and the Saturn energy in this chart seem to have found a common ground in the police profession but in this case they are bringing out each other's bad side.

Mehserle's chart has two conjunctions which are exact to the degree: Venus-Neptune in Sagittarius and Jupiter-Saturn in Libra. These are pretty friendly aspects overall. The Venus-Neptune could get carried away especially in Sagittarius. Mehserle may have had a little bit of a hang over from too much partying the night before. The (natal) Jupiter-Saturn conjunction is conjunct the 12th house cusp to the degree of the event chart (Placidus). Jupiter-Saturn represents Society on a Social Level and its placement in Libra, sign of Diplomacy and Peace Making, is pretty bizarre. 12th House, though, represents Self-Undoing, Institutions like Jail and Martyrdom so perhaps this particular event seems to have brought out a streak of this. Mehserle's refusal to speak infuriated the public which has evolved into rioting on at least two occasions. 12th House often simply can't explain its actions.

Mehserle is caught in a lot of Cyclic Return activity. He is probably just past his 2dary Progressed Lunar Return and is heading in to his Saturn Return. This is significant since both his Sun and Moon disposit to Saturn. He is also going through his Nodal Opposition, a time of extreme confusion and having one's world turned upside down. If this is a true birth date this chart is really amazing because the Nodal Axis for the event was crossing the IC/MC axis which represents opposition between the Public and Authority. Interesting that these points are represented by the Moon and Saturn in one's chart as well. And the chart shows someone with strong Saturn-Moon contacts.

If Mehserle were born early in the day his Moon would have been getting hit by the Sun-Mars-Pluto transiting conjunction on the Aries Point. That's a highly emotional aspect. Bob Marks, who has done extensive research on the astrology of murderers, has pointed out the significance of Mars-Moon combination in violence. (www.bobmarksastrologer.com) He has also found how common Capricorn Moon is in murderers (which isn't the best news for those of us who have the natal aspect ourselves.)

I've listened to Malcolm Gladwell's book (either Tipping Point or Blink, can't remember) where Gladwell discusses research that has examined a sort of Mars-Moon-Pluto hormone effect in police officers which can lead to brutality. There's a chemical reaction that can happen which causes them to go into some sort of brutality mode if not checked. Astrology sure would have been useful to the police department in this case because Mehserle was in line to completely lose it around these dates.

Also interesting is the mutual Venus-Neptune conjunctions between the natal chart and the event chart. The conjunction in the natal chart is in Sagittarius and is in Aquarius in the event chart in the 4th house. Venus in the event chart rules the 7th House so I associated it with the Victim, Oscar Grant, but it certainly looks like the killer is indicated as well. These aren't planets I would associate with committing police brutality unless it's through some sort of gas or inaudible, invisible vibe. What's even more interesting is the fact that they both square the Uranus placement of the other. Mehserle's natal Venus-Neptune is apex to a t-square of the Saturn-Uranus opposition. One possible explanation could be the amount of video filming that was done at the event and the Internet "conviction" by the public.

The natal chart shows an unaspected Uranus in Scorpio indicating that for Mehserle, impulse and shock run deep and can bring on crises. Uranus is in a sign for 7 years so this is a generational planet showing general social consciousness. in this chart the Uranus energy can't flow with the rest of the planets of the chart so sudden crises could tend to ball up for this guy (if this is his chart). Progressed Mars is now squaring this Uranus which heightens the volatility and impulsiveness for Mehserle over the next few years. His nervous system will be under assault something which a double Capricorn already would struggle with due to deep perceptual abilities and difficult self-expression. Hopefully, he is not living with the rest of the prisoners in the jail.

By some sort of coincidence I was reminded here of the Stanford Prison Experiment which I studied on this blog a while back. This case for me seems to be about uncontrollable rage and police brutality rather than racism and this is what the Stanford experiment was about. A psychologist at Stanford University hired ordinary men to conduct a study on behaviors that occurred within a prison environment. Half were assigned roles as prisoners and half were assigned roles as prison guards and they all knew they were play acting their roles. Within a day the prisoners were rioting. The experiment, originally planned to last 14 days, was ended after 6 because the prison guards abused their authoritarian roles and became abusive.

I compared the charts between the New Year's incident and didn't find any significant similarities at first. But, I did find similarities between Mehserle's supposed birth chart and the Stanford experiment transits. The Leo-Aquarius nodal axis shows up in his natal chart and the Stanford Prison Experiment which took place between Aug. 14 and Aug. 20, 1971.

The NN for the Stanford Prison Experiment was at 15 Aquarius conjunct Mars 17 Aquarius Rx. This Nodal Axis is on the IC/MC of The BART Station shooting with NN at 10 Aquarius.
And Mehserle's Nodal Axis was on top of this. And he was going through his Nodal Opposition.

To add fuel to the fire, so to speak, Mehserle's natal Mars is at 5 Aquarius conjunct his South Node is at 11 Aquarius (NN at 11 Leo) which adds the violent streak.

(The Sun was conjunct Venus in the Stanford Prison Experiment and this was passing over the South Node at the time of the Stanford Prison Experiment.)

I talked about Mehserle's "alleged" (might as well use that word) volatile Uranus in Scorpio at 29 degrees. In alignment with that point, there was a huge transit aspect during The Stanford Prison experiment with Jupiter 30 Capricorn conjunct Neptune 1 Sagittarius and opposing Saturn at 6 Gemini. The Moon was in Taurus and passing through Gemini during the beginning days of the experiment so was setting off those points.

(If the Stanford Prison Experiment had been conducted during a Jupiter-Neptune trine maybe the prisoners would have gotten along.)

At any rate, going even further, way too far probably, down the line, we can look at the publication date for The Lord of the Flies. This book deals with the same type of brutality. It was published in 1954 while the NN was in Capricorn. This means that it was probably being written 1-2 years before while the NN was in Aquarius. Good time to observe the behaviors of people abusing authority in mass group settings, I guess.

In conclusion, all I can say is, boy, the Police really need to pay attention to Mars transits.

ReCycling Harpists

Flipping through a New York Times that was lying around in the coffee house on Friday I saw a photograph of Columbian Latin Jazz Harpist Edmar Castaneda in the middle of what looked like a really intense performance. I ripped the picture out. Mine, all mine. It's been a while since anything fun has hit the harp scene so I had to check this guy out on the YouTube. And things went from there to the astroblab in no time flat.

In watching a couple of performances of Castaneda on YouTube I sort of wondered if he was an Aries. I'm not good at figuring out people's signs but his playing seems very Marsian. Fast, sharp, daring. And it's just plain awesome. Somebody evidently forgot to tell this guy that it's impossible to play Jazz on a harp, let alone a harp without pedals which can't control the half notes. It's totally unbelievable what he's doing.

I sort of wondered if Castaneda were the same sign as a French harpist who was born a little less than 100 years before him, Carlos Salzedo. Salzedo was probably the greatest innovator in harp who ever lived. He composed completely original music and invented new techniques and colors. He worked with Russian Dancer Nijinsky on trying to understand how to use the body to perform. He was Toscanni's first harpist. Harp has never been confused with piano music since he composed for it. He even designed an Art Deco style harp to advance it out of its Baroque stylings and into modern times.

If the birth date which is listed on Wikipedia is correct Castaneda has a remarkably similar chart with Salzedo.

Edmar Castaneda

b. Mar. 31, 1978 Bogota, Columbia

Sun 11 Aries; Moon Capricorn?; NN 6 Libra

Carlos Salzedo

b. Apr. 6, 1885 11:30am Arcachon, France (time from Astrotheme, don't know how they got it)

Sun 17 Aries: Moon 5 Capricorn; ASC 28 Cancer; MC 9 Aries ; NN 5 Libra

So, both Harpists are Aries Suns. Yay. Love it when that happens (I only write about the times that my guesses are right, of course). In addition to same Sun sign, these men share same Moon, Venus and Nodal Axis. Castaneda was born on Salzedo's Nodal Return within two degrees. And, of course, the Libra North Node disposits to Venus, ruler of beauty, art and music (and women and we don't want to go there because I know enough gossip about Salzedo to know that it's not worth it).

Castaneda has an opposition of Sun to Pluto widely crossing over his Nodal Axis, perhaps squared by his Moon. Salzedo had a conjunction of Sun-Venus-Mars opposing Uranus crossing over his Nodal Axis, and squaring his Moon.

Both have Capricorn Moons (Castaneda's is at 11 Capricorn in his noontime chart so there is a possibility that he has Sagittarius Moon).

Both men were also born on a Mercury Return although in different signs. (end of Aries, beginning of Taurus).

Both also have Venus in Aries. Salzedo's Venus is conjunct his Mars (to which it disposits) and is conjunct his South Node and his Sun and squaring his Moon. On the opposite end, his North Node is conjunct his Uranus which explains his originality. Castaneda's Venus is conjunct his Mercury and Chiron. It squares his Mars 27 Cancer, so both men share the Venus-Mars aspect.

Since Mars is the energy I picked up on here I think it's interesting that both men have Sun and Venus and South Node dispositing to this energy. Castaneda's Mars would even be conjunct Salzedo's Ascendant if the Astrotheme Cancer Rising chart is correct.

Another interesting comparison are their Jupiters and Saturns. Castaneda's Saturn in Gemini is conjunct Salzedo's Jupiter in Gemini. And Castaneda's Jupiter in Leo is conjunct Salzedo's Saturn in Leo. Gemini represents Mental agility and manual dexterity among other things, important for a harpist. Leo represents Performance and Romance and Drama. Both of these combined in a chart might potentially hook a person up in to the same type of social groups which are described by their placements.

Like the Jazz musicians, Neptune's not really strong in these charts which is totally unexpected for the instrument known for its glissandos and ruffles. The conjunction of Jupiter to Saturn in Leo that they share makes aspects to both men's Neptunes, although in different signs. Castaneda's Neptune is at 19 Sagittarius trining Saturn 25 Leo. Salzedo's Neptune is at 22 Taurus squaring his Jupiter 27 Leo.

(Of course, what really interests me is that I used to play harp and also have Nodal Axis at the same spot, and a Capricorn Moon. Oh well, the talent doesn't hit every pass of the Nodal Axis...)

So, here's a listen:

The US Has An Increased "Albedo?"

Found a really interesting entry called "Half of the USA is Covered in Snow" on a blog titled Watts Up With That?

Apparently there is snow everywhere right now. Is Pluto in Capricorn icing it up or what? The blog says that the US is half covered with snow right now. And Canada is completely covered with snow for the first time in 4 decades. That sounds like the Saturn-Uranus opposition cycle over Virgo/Pisces messing with our heads. Anyway, this creates an "Increased albedo," or "surface reflectivity," which makes for a slower ice melt.

Pretty interesting news for a new Moon conjunct Mars and Pluto on the Capricorn Aries Point!!!

John McCain and Mercury Retrograde

Mercury stationed Retrograde at 24 degrees Libra on Sept. 24 and will Station Direct on Wednesday at 8 degrees Libra. I've already looked at how it has affected the alleged U.S. natal chart by tripping off a t-square of Sun-Saturn-Chiron. It doesn't seem to have affected Barack Obama's campaign but it sure seems to have affected John McCain's behavior which has been erratic and ahem, Mercurial.

McCain "suspended his campaign" in order to go to Washington to work on the Economic problems. This was unusual and he did it abruptly. At last week's debate he used the phrase "My Friends" something like 22 times which showed that he's very stressed and is a babbling Mercurial guffaw. He stood David Letterman up and has been the butt of non-stop jokes on that show. Well, he would have received that treatment either way. This morning I read an announcement that McCain will now appear on Letterman's show on Thursday, the day after Mercury turns direct. He was shown as his old self again over the week-end correcting an old white woman with serious bed head issues about some racist thoughts she was having concerning Obama's character.

Today, as well, the NCGR weekly bulletin came up with an interesting new tidbit about McCain's birthtime. Retrogrades are supposed to bring up old issues for review. The post comes from Pat Tagliatello over at Astrodatabank who was notifiied that some old newspapers have found birth announcements for McCain which indicate that the commonly used birthtimes of 9 am and 11 am are incorrect. The announcement says that McCain was born in the afternoon. This is interesting because a birth after 3pm would move his Moon into Aquarius. Astrologers will start to say nice things about him if that's true.

From the newsletter:

Shelley Jordan has kindly sent me an article from the Panama American newspaper dated August 31, 1936. Page four of the newspaper carries a birth announcement that says, "Lt. and Mrs. John S. McCain, Jr. of the Submarine Base are the parents of a son born Saturday afternoon at the Submarine Base Hospital." Although his mother is on record as giving two different times for his birth (9 AM and 11 AM), this article points to a time between 12 noon and perhaps 5 PM. Mothers' memories as we know from experience are often faulty; and sometimes newspapers make mistakes or are vague as this one is. In the absence of a birth certificate or other official record, his birth time is considered unreliable.

If you haven't already seen them, here are the two links (the first to the newspaper announcement) that Shelley sent me:

NOT PART OF THE QUOTE, I just can't figure out how to undo the quote thingee:

Taking a look at his natal Mercury shows how important Mercury's influence is in McCain's chart. He has natal Mercury at 3 Libra, very close to an Aries Point. It is also the only planet squaring his Nodal Axis which is right on the Aries Points with North Node at 1 Capricorn. His Mercurial Qualities come out into public very readily.

McCain's natal Mercury is not Retrograde but it is at 3 Libra so one can see that it has also been receiving an extended visit from the Retrograde Mercury in Libra transit.

One knitting blogger who I follow said that his behavior seemed like some sort of PTSD. I thought the same thing. McCain's progressed chart may also indicate this as it shows similar Mercury Retrograde activity as at the time that McCain was held as a POW in Vietnam. Mercury rules the nerves and thinking processes and is known for moving in all directions at once when under stress. McCain was tortured to the point that he tried to commit suicide. His arms, ruled by Mercury, are permanently damaged because of what was done to him.
John McCain
b. Aug. 29, 1936 ((( 9:00am ????)))) Cocosolo, Panama

John McCain's natal Mercury is at 3 Libra and squares his Nodal Axis at 1 Capricorn (NN) / 1 Cancer (SN). So, this lends a strong Mercurial influence to his Destiny in life.

(((For the record, McCain's current Progressed Mercury is at 13 Scorpio. And McCain's current Solar Arc Mercury (Solar Arc doesn't go Retrograde) is at 14 Sagittarius.))))

This month transiting Mercury went Retrograde on Sept. 24, 2008 at 23 Libra. It will station Direct on Oct. 16, 2008 at 8 Libra. Keep this 8 Libra degree in your mind as you read this. This point is very important in McCain's Mercurial History.

McCain's prog. Mercury had gone Retrograde sometime around 1956 in his 12th House while it was conjunct his chart ruler Venus, which is natally in the 12th House. (House placement may no longer apply.). 12th House rules prisons and imprisonment.

McCain was captured by the North Vietnamese on Oct. 6, 1967 and was sent to the "Hanoi Hilton" where he endured extreme torture for about 6-7 years. The worst of the torture was in August, 1968.

At the time of capture, prog. Mercury was at 9 Libra Retrograde (remember this week's position of Mercury Station Direct at 7 Libra) and conjunct Prog. Sun at 7 Libra. The rest of his chart was going ape-face crazy as well but I'm trying to concentrate on Mercury here. With the work I'm doing on cycles I've been seeing how much a repeat cycle like this will influence a person down the road.

The whole time McCain was imprisoned Mercury was Retrograde and at one point was conjunct the progressed Sun in the 12th House (again, house placement may no longer apply) further emphasizing the prison theme. It also places huge amounts of stress on McCain for anything happening at early degrees Libra.

Mercury was conjunct within to a degree of its natal position when McCain was released on Mar. 14, 1973 and was conjunct to the degree with transiting Pluto at 4 Libra.

Right now, through the Retrograde, McCain's Mercury is having an extra long Return.

The theme of Pluto-Mercury-Nodes related to McCain's release date from the POW camps is repeating itself for McCain. When Mercury stations Direct this week it will be at 8 Libra. That's within wide conjunction to his natal Mercury and also wide square to his natal Nodal Axis. Transiting Pluto is at 29 Sagittarius conjunct his North Node and squaring his natal Mercury which repeats the Mercury-Pluto-Node aspect of his release date from prison.

McCain's progressed Mercury went out of Rx around 1977 at 2 Libra while it was conjunct the transiting North Node. This is the year that McCain entered Politics. This was his "real entry into the world of politics and beginning of my second career as a public servant." McCain's marriage was falling apart at this time. He met his current wife Cindy in 1979 and divorced his first wife in 1980. His wife said that he turning 40 and acting like a 25 year old. That's middle age of course but is also a very Mercurial behavior.

Time for a Heart Attack?

The Most Common Time of Day to Have a Heart Attack according to Doctors is early morning just as we are waking up. This equals the time between 6am and Noon with the first 3 hours of waking the worst. The Heart is ruled by the Sun. This means that the time that one is most likely to have a Heart Attack is when the Sun is Rising over the Ascendant and moving into the 12th House. Pretty interesting considering that 1st House rules the Physical Body and 12th House rules Chronic Illness.

The times, of course, don't often apply that perfectly. Where I was born the Sun would have risen over the Ascendant a couple of hours earlier (maybe due to Daylight Savings time?).

This is also significant because as you can read from the quote below, Dreaming and Functioning of the Circulatory System are key processes that have to do with waking up. These correspond with the Sun moving through the 12th House (Dreaming) and then the 11th House (Circulatory System, opposes 5th House that rules the Heart). At any rate, this means that Heart Attacks are associated with the Sun moving through the Upper Left Hand corner of the Wheel.

Of course, the individual predisposition for Heart Attack is also a tiny little part to factor in.

Article is here:

http://news.yahoo.com/s/time/20080723/hl_time/whenareyoumostlikelytohaveaheartattack
A group from Harvard estimated this risk and evaluated that on average, the
extra risk of having a
myocardial
infarction
, or heart attack, between 6 a.m. and noon is about 40%. But if
you calculate only the first three hours after waking, this relative risk is
threefold.

The cardiovascular system follows a daily pattern that is oscillatory in
nature: most cardiovascular functions exhibit circadian changes
(circadian is from the Latin circa and diem, meaning "about
one day"). Now, a heart attack depends on the imbalance between increased
myocardial oxygen demand (i.e., a greater need for oxygen in your heart) and
decreased myocardial oxygen supply - or both. And unfortunately, some functions
in the first hours of the day require more myocardial oxygen support: waking and
commencing physical activities, the peak of the adrenal hormone cortisol [which
boosts blood-pressure and blood-sugar levels] and a further increase in blood
pressure and heart rate due to catecholamines (adrenaline and noradrenaline),
which show a peak when you wake up. All those factors lead to an increase of
oxygen consumption but at the same time contribute to the constriction of
vessels. So you have reduced vessel size and reduced blood flow to the coronary
vessels.

You have to remember that blood coagulation is important in the genesis of
what we call thrombi, the blood clots that can block the blood vessels
and cut off supply to the heart. When we wake up, platelets, the particles in
the blood that make thrombi, are particularly adhesive to the vessels. Usually
we have an endogenous system - it's called fibrinolysis - to dissolve the
thrombi. But in the morning, the activity of our fibrinolytic system is reduced.
So we have a greater tendency to make thrombi that can occlude the coronary
vessels. This contributes to further reduction of coronary blood flow. Thus, at
the same time that you need more blood flow, you have less.

All these changes, however, probably are not so harmful in healthy people.
But for a person with a plaque in the coronary vessel, if these changes occur at
the same time and peak at the same time, the final result is a higher risk of
heart attack during that specific window of morning hours.

Why is the risk also higher during the last part of sleep? Usually, during
the night, the cardiovascular system is "sleeping," which is characterized by
low blood pressure and heart rate. But the last stage of sleep - REM, or rapid
eye movement, sleep [when we believe most dreaming occurs] - is a risk period
for cardiovascular emergencies because when you dream, you have a dramatic
increase of activity of the autonomic nervous system - even more than when you
are awake. Probably each of us can remember waking up in the morning sometimes
feeling very tired. That's because during that stage of dreams, we were running
or facing some danger. Your heart was running, so it was consuming oxygen. And
for similar reasons to those when you're awake, that activity is risky if you
don't have a good vessel system.
