Hopefully Not Taking a Shower with George Clooney

Well, I've been told that jail is the best sex you'll ever have (jokingly). Hope that's not too true because actor George clooney just got arrested yesterday for picketing for us to provide aid to end warcrimes in the Sudan. I suppose that he didn't really meet the inmates because he's rich and famous and his intentions were all noble, but I sure wouldnt want to take a shower in a place like jail if I looked like George clooney.

Clooney is 50 years old so he's going through his Chiron return. Natal Chiron in his chart is in the sign of Pisces which is the sign which rules charitable deeds and compassion for worldly failings. It also rules jail which is where georage ended up. His natal Chiron is strongly placed in Clooney's chart in conjunction with his ascendant from the Pisces 12th house. It is also in conjunction with his south node which shows that an event related to this aspect might not succeed as planned due to the fact that Herod too much of this stuff in a past life. Or because this is an already developed part of his innate being which must be balanced by situations related to north node. And that's maybe a little bit of a challenge for Clooney as his natal north node is in conjunction with his natal Pluto in Virgo. This guy wants to change the world through service. But, yeah, Pluto in Virgo can always indicate interactions with the police, even if, like me, they think you're awesome.

Funny how George Clooney is a Taurus with Capricorn moon, just like Hitler. I know, I know, as a cap moon myself I have to be told that cap moons are always fascists, especially by self professed healer types. When you think about it cap moon men make really beautiful male movie stars like Johnny depo and brad Pitt and George clooney. We women just really love a guy who is structurally perfect and looks like he doesn't really want to be there.

The transiting sun in Pisces would be in Clooney's first house, so that didn't help either. I didn't look up the transits beyond the Chiron return return thing.

Playing the Lotto with Delma Kinney

According to a Huffington Post article, two time Lottery Winner Delma Kinney is a Sadge.

Sagittarius is ruled by Jupiter. And Jupiter is the Planet of Luck. And in the last few weeks Jupiter in Taurus (money) has been in trine aspect with Pluto (other people's money). Last week the two have been connected in a Super Lucky Grand Trine aspect with Mars in Virgo.

The articles don't seem to give a specific date for Kinney's wins. Last week, Kinney was at the Chevron Mini Mart buying cold medicine when he bought his happy ticket (natal Mercury in Scorpio in mutual reception with Pluto in Virgo).

Why can't we ever see the security footage for events like this? Video of some Sadge buying his second Million $$$ Lottery Ticket ... along with Date/Time stamp for proper Astroblab?!!!

Either way, looks like it was last week or the week before. Previous Win was in 2008.

Looks like Mr. Kinney will celebrate his 51st Birthday this week so he's under the influence of His Sagittarius Solar Return. He would have been 48 years old in 2008. (Wait, since his Birthday is so late in the year I may not have calculated the math correctly.)

Playing around with the idea of "What Planetary Cycle are You Currently Under the Influence Of?" we note that in 2008 it could possibly have been Kinney's Jupiter Return, or just after.

Now, at the big 5-0- Kinney is under the influence of his Chiron Return. They say that when you turn 50, you become a Golden Oldie. This guy is certainly rolling in the Gold.

Kind of interesting how the articles state that Kinney put money away to pay for his kids' education with the first win. Jupiter rules higher education. Now, he tends to give some money to charity. Chiron Returnish. Kinney is a single Father of 3 kids (but probably not for very long.)

Kinney's natal trine of Jupiter to Pluto layers right over the transiting Earth Grand Trine of Mars at early Virgo to t.Pluto at 7 Capricorn and to t. Jupiter at 3 Taurus. And it gets even wilder than that because the Trine fans out into a Kite. Transiting Mars-n.Pluto-NN opposing t. Chiron 1 Pisces-Neptune 29 Aquarius-n. Chiron 28 Aquarius.

Also, connected with this Kite Axis figure is progressed Sun which is currently at 6 Aquarius.

AND also Kinney's Solar Arc Mars and maybe SA Moon are at 9 Virgo in conjunction with the transiting Mars and natal Pluto-NN. Kinney's natal Mars is Retrograde and Out of Bounds so it has exceptional powers. It's in Cancer maybe in conjunction with the Moon. Interesting configuration for a single Father of 3 to have. He probably likes to build swing sets and stuff. And he has psychic abilities. He could feel the vibe in that Chevron Mini Mart. He just knew he could manifest that Lucky Lotto one more time.

The astrology goes on and on. Natal Venus (Cash) is at 25 Capricorn c. natal Saturn 17 Capricorn opposing natal Mars 18 Cancer Rx.

Wish I had the date for the 2008 Win. At the end of 2007 Kinney would have had an extra long Mars Return because Mars went Retrograde over his natal Mars Rx. Right now his progressed Mars is on the Cancer Aries Point at 1 Cancer Rx.

At the end of 2007 there was a very lucky conjunction of Jupiter to Pluto at the end of Sagittarius.

Guy Fawkes and His BFF Tim Geithner (that's a joke)

This won't be a long post. (Oops)

I'm trying to write a post about how nobody ever gives Tim Geithner any credit. I don't hold much against him because the astrology right now pretty much says we're in a long term phase of financial depression that repeats the similar problems of the Long Depression that occurred at the end of the 19th century. That one lasted 20 years. I don't expect things to get better real fast this time, but I'm such a pessimist my opinions can be said to err on the down side. In other words, what do I know?

It's amazing to me that Geithner has managed to keep the stock market up at the high levels as it is. It hasn't really gone beyond a certain point, but it keeps heaving up and down, kind of like it's on a ventilator in a chemically induced coma. Just enough to let the 401ks juggle things around a bit.

Clearly Geithner's staging this stuff (strong Leo influence in his chart). It's a magic trick and an illusion.

But, right now, because no one ever gives Tim Geithner enough credit, everyone is giving Guy Fawkes a bunch of credit. Plus, the recession/depression has gone on too long. And some eco-marketing firm up in Canada had the brains to inject our instincts for mobbing into generally more constructive avenues. And there's some illusion in this as well. Magic Federal Reserve Chairman Boyfriend Ben Bernanke said he doesn't really blame them, the Occupy Wall St people. Some of them are sort of dumb and are burning small businesses down.

Bernanke loves a committee. Somehow I get the feeling that Tim Geithner doesn't. That's why Ben Bernanke is so loveable and why I keep forgetting to look at Geithner's chart maybe? Uranus loves a committee. Oh well, I won't go there.

Then a gang stalker walked by me today (they stare extra long with a taunting we've got you bitch, you should see what I've just done to your car and your credit score and everyone you know). This guy had a Guy Fawkes beard, like he had dressed up like all the rest of the Guy Fawkes fans on November 5, and he was clearly pissed off with me for being white. Then it hit me. Sort of. It's the Catholics. The Catholics are protesting.

Geithner has a conjunction of Sun-Mercury-Uranus to the NN in Leo which explains the big forehead and mass of hair. He might also be grouchy because his thinking is erratic and he expresses himself verbally in ways that sometimes shock people. This stellium is unaspected except for an inconjunct to a Jupiter-Saturn conjunction (both retrograde) in Capricorn. That's lots of potent energy that doesn't flow easily. It helps that both signatures show high intelligence of some sort so Geithner is not going to be as at odds blending these energies as some of us might be.

Inconjuncts are minor aspects and their connection is very odd. The keyword for inconjuncts is "Adjustment." The signs that are connected don't share similarities which means they are difficult to express together. Both signs, Leo and Capricorn do rule talent for leadership. Geithner seems to be trying to fix the problem, but the problem may be outdated (Jupiter-Saturn in Capricorn Rx). At any rate, that Jupiter-Saturn thing shows that Geithner was born during a year which socially represents the top of the heap. There's a sense that we are falling backwards or down instead of upwards towards a common goal. Well, the Guy Fawkes people want to revel against the system too.

Sun-Mercury-Uranus-NN in Leo shows a lot of intuitive brains. It wouldn't be enough to hack Geithner's computers, you'd have to also hack his brain. And you'd have to be really really fast. The Leo and Capricorn shows that perhaps he doesn't like to work with others. It's partly that lack of flow thing I mentioned earlier. It's partly that he's got a Hero complex. It's partly other stuff which I'll continue to babble about.

People like people who flow. They make you feel like you're not stuck anywhere. Guy Fawkes had flow. At least his astro chart did. He had one and possibly two Grand Trines in his chart. AT execution time he jumped off the stage before he was hung in order to avoid the final humiliation.

I remember reading that Geithner didn't hire staff for a long time after taking his job as whatever his title is. This would be a very Leo/Capricorn kind of way of doing things. Leo has a Hero complex and Heroes tend to stand out by themselves.

I was just thinking the other day about how a Democracy is exactly the wrong type of political philosophy for getting countries out of the deep do-do that we're currently in. Everything takes too long by committee. Tyrants can get things done and that's not always a bad thing, except that sometimes they turn mean. Ben Bernanke likes committees. We all like Ben Bernanke. Ben is very smart, he's super cute, I tend to think that I'm watching a guy playing baseball rather than a world economy tanking, but Bernanke's forehead isn't as big as Geithner's. Interesting that both men are Fire Suns with Water Moons.

That's a lot of steam.

Back to Guy Fawkes. Guy Fawkes was a rebel. That's how history talks about him right now at any rate. According to an astrology blog that was posted which I can't remember the name of, _--------- (it was British and it was really good), we don't know Guy Fawkes' birthday. He was christened on Apr. 16, 1570. People say he was born on Apr. 13, 1570 but nobody knows for sure.

My computer program says that Fawkes was a Taurus, not an Aries, because he was born during Old School calendar, same as Leonardo da Vinci. Taurus would explain why his name comes up in discussions about finances.

Taurus rules finances and art. Fawkes is known for his pointy chin goatee which seems like a Taurus thing since Taurus rules the lower jaw and neck area. Most people think he's an Aries Sun which he could be. Obviously I don't know, but isn't it interesting how people never assume that a person is a Taurus, have you ever noticed that?. I don't know what Old School and New School calendars mean. Someone once told me but I forgot. Something which has to do with what the Pope wanted. Funny how this post is supposed to be about people who are dealing with finances of our times and keeps turning intostuff about religions (which I've mostly edited out by now).

(I like the Buddhists. Remember the Buddhists? My Father said that Buddhism is the best religion but Buddhism doesn't work in the markets and that's why people don't embrace it. Well, except for Steve Jobs.)

Like I said, Fawkes would have had a lot of flow because he had at least one Grand trine. He could probably get away with more in life than most people can. Or at least he thought he could get away with more and then he got caught. He was born during an outer planet Grand Trine in Air. Jupiter 15 Aquarius trine Saturn 18 Libra Rx trine Neptune 20 Gemini. This Grand Trine is activated right now because this chart (Fawkes') is going through a Saturn Return.

The Apr. 13 date also gives another Grand Trine, this time in Earth, which would be activated by transiting Pluto right now. Sun 3 Taurus would be trine NN 6 Virgo trine Uranus 4 Capricorn Rx. Uranus rules rebellions, Sun rules Risk, so there you go. The guy was unpredictable and inspirational. And I think that Grand Trines are great for spies so he probably was good at working people.

Fawkes' Virgo NN might show why the Pluto in Virgo generation has a strong fascination with this guy. I'm sort of embarrassed to say that the V for Vendetta phenomenon began with a comic strip which is the best art form of my generation and a source of great embarrassment to me. Virgo seems to be strongly connected with the markets and material world and so is better with the graphics arts than with the "high arts". If it is great art nobody will want it until 100 years after you are dead and what smart Virgo is going to go along with that kind of pain? Oh well, power to the people who do crafty crap. And people who live in the middle class.

Kind of interesting that the Middle Class has pretty much disappeared from the Pluto in Virgo generation. That's a discussion which could go on and on so I'll avoid it. The anonymous hackers have found that they have a talent which they can get away with no matter how much pain it causes others so they are finding a great outlet in Fawkes and not Geithner the Leo who represents the old school idea to them. Geithner's chart shows a strong Romantic side so I think his generation sort of bugs him.

Right now Fawkes is going through a Mars Return in Leo. With Mars in Leo, Fawkes had a noble side as well as a foolish side, as do all Mars in Leos. He wanted to be heroic. He wanted to do the right thing. The New York Occupy people haven't killed anybody but there have been some problems in other places like Oakland and Oklahoma. Does it have something to do with place names that begin with the letter O, long form? Oakland always riots and the truth is this is because the people who live there are mean.

I wonder if this is mostly a 25-year old Boy thing overall. Especially White Boys. The government is trying to get them to perk up because they aren't eligible for Affirmative Action and they commit suicide a lot when they get older. Uranus is at 1 Aries which shows that the spark has to come before the plan. That's interesting. That's a lesson that Saturn has to learn.

Fawkes also had a square of Neptune 20 Gemini to Pluto at 23 Pisces. So he was born during a time when mysticism would have wreaked havoc amongst the peoples? There is probably more than the usual amount of stuff that people feel that they can't explain when Neptune and Pluto are in bad aspect with each other. They would have really struggled with things like Religions which are trying to explain it all away with some story about Virgins and a guy who will forgive for torturing him to death. Today with this long winding Neptune-Pluto sextile that keeps phasing in and out we are finding out about more mysteries through Science. Healers are still self professed and sometimes that gets a little stupid.

Back in Guy Fawkes' day, people probably did have mystical powers and it wasn't because they were trying so hard; or at least they figured they needed to develop mystical powers in order to deal with what life was throwing at them. People can never really fully know the powers of either Neptune or Pluto because we will never experience a full return of those planets to our natal charts. It sure is interesting that during the Age of Aquarius many of us can expect to live through our first Uranus Return, Age 83-84.

Right now, Fawkes' chart is also going through a Chiron Return conjunct Neptune. Chiron is at 27 Aquarius. That's an extra mystical Chiron Return which involves crowds of people and mobs. I'm just finishing that one up and I have the same Chiron placement within a degree. I got to be gang stalked by the scum of the earth who is now running around in Guy Fawkes' masks.

Weirdness, Geithner is also entering his Chiron Return. They have chiron in different signs. Fawkes in Aquarius. Geithner in Pisces. And, of course, it's just plain weird that I'm comparing their two charts in one blog.

Chiron in Aquarius: Healing and Failure of "The People." That's a universal problem for all of humanity to deal with. The Catholics have consistently failed to deal with this but they keep on waving their incense burners. Problem with the Catholics is that, as I said before, everywhere they go an Inquisition follows. I'm not fond of Religions because they separate people for no reason, but when you fail at money you tend to turn towards God so what else can a person do? The Catholics are probably actually rebelling only because Oprah went off the air. They need to be told that everything can be healed.

So, this brings me back to Tim Geithner who nobody gives credit to. Saturn and Jupiter Rx. His Father never gave him credit? He's strongly Leo so he's got more than the usual amount of confidence?

Problem with Leo is that the Stars never stay the same and the Sun constantly progresses and Leo Sun have it bad in that respect. You're all shiny and unselfconscious and then your Sun takes on the flavor of Virgo which sits there feeling embarrassed for everyone else. Then it moves into Libra and doesn't know what end is up. Do you want to drive or shall I? Do you want to open the window, or shall I? Libra can see all sides. That's only because Leo opens the heart and Virgo brings a sense of servitude. By the time they become shrinks later on in life Libras can pretty much articulate everything that bothers another person.

Geithner's Moon would be the real kicker in his chart and I can't really place it because I don't have his birth time. At noon it's in middle degrees Scorpio. At that point it's in conjunction with Neptune in Scorpio. Scorpio rules shared finances and very often that equals: Crises. People don't really like to share finances, if you want to be honest about it and that's one of Scorpios' little challenges.

Scorpio, like Leo, is a fixed sign so combined as they are here shows that Geithner has staying power. Unlike Leo Scorpio likes to rule from behind the scenes.

If Moon is in conjunction with Neptune, this combined with Mercury c. Uranus in Geithner's chart shows two strong psychic connections of very different styles. Mercury-Uranus is very quick and intuitive, but Moon conjunct Neptune in Scorpio shows a highly psychic person whose feeling levels defy speed, but who is probably not good at explaining what's going on in his mind. That's why Geithner's head looks like the popcorn is just about ready.

People don't like what they don't understand and if Geithner has both of these aspects together people might feel that they can't trust him. Oh well, end of rant.

Addition to Evelyn McHale Suicide Story

In last night's blog entry I wondered why everyone else in New York City didn't jump off the roof of a building at 10:40am on May 1, 1947 the way that Evelyn McHale did. The Stars just seemed set up to guide people into a magnificent demise.

Then I realized that, at Age 23, McHale was perhaps going through a Jupiter in Scorpio Return which would have honed down the citizens of the Big Apple to only tragedians with Jupiter in Scorpio. Jupiter stands out in this chart as it was Retrograde and a singleton in Water, element of emotions and feelings. Scorpio is the sign of Death, Obsession, Passion, Deep Feelings, Confrontation and Sexuality. (also of Sexual Diseases and one wonders if... well, never mind). McHale was going through emotional turmoil in her love life, we do know that. So this hones the problem down to Jupiter in Scorpios, probably the ones who are suffering their first love affairs.

What does separate out McHale from the others is her extreme physical beauty. You can't have an event chart, after all, without at least one natal chart and one set of genes (and that's only the minimum requirement). With Neptune opposing Venus over the IC/MC lines and Saturn conjunct Pluto in Leo in the 1st House trining Venus and Mars in Aries, the woman who jumped off the Empire State Building at 10:40am had to be exceptionally beautiful and of an extremely dramatic personality. New Yorkers might have a good sense of the Dramatic but in the looks department .... well, let's just say that keeps many New Yorkers safe from experiencing what ailed Evelyn McHale.

Then I googled May 1, 1947 to see what else happened on this date and was really amazed how there really was a lot of activity and it can all be tied in to the theme of "things flying through space." List from www.brainyhistory.com/days/may-1.html.

1. Cleveland Indians abandon League Park to play all games at Municipal Stadium. Okay this means nothing to me. Guys throwing Balls through the air though ...it's a stretch... moving on.

2. Change of Leadership in the CIA. Rear Admiral Roscoe H. Hillenkoetter, USN, becomes 3rd director of the CIA. This is cool. The CIA changed Directors while the Saturn-Pluto conjunction in Leo (power, government changes, spying, Directors of Big Government Agencies) was trining Venus and Mars in Aries (military). Hillenkoetter was from the Navy, the guy he replaced was from the Air Force.

Uranus and the North Node were in Gemini, interesting time for the CIA as it's associated with Intelligence Gathering. Hillenkoetter was interesting because he is known on Wikipedia at least for wanting to expose the cover-up by the Government of UFO's. He started the "National Investigations Commission for Aerial Phenomena" and was a member of Majestic-12. This really matches the Uranus in Gemini theme as Uranus wants to take "it" as far out there as it can. --And if you can't go to it, you must think it is coming to you. Uranus represents communal good will, after all. People have been getting probed by The Grays ever since.

Hillenkoetter was also close to his Solar Return.

Hillenkoetter's chart was lit up like a pin-ball machine with regards to the aspects. He was going through his Chiron Return in Scorpio. This squares his n.Nodal Axis (Aquarius to Leo). And Pluto was conjunct his natal South Node. One can only assume that he himself was personally probed.

Hillenkoetter's chart was also strongly affected by the Jupiter in Scorpio as Jupiter at 25 Scorpio Rx was very close to his natal conjunction of Uranus 28 Scorpio-Saturn 29 Scorpio. This conjunction is opposed by natal Mercury 5 Gemini and squared by n.Jupiter 1 Virgo. Talk about a truth seeking person. I wonder if this guy was the original influence for Muldaur on the X-Files. At any rate, the North Node was at 3 Gemini conjunct his Mercury on this date.

Oh, and he also had a conjunction of Pluto 13 Gemini to Neptune 18 Gemini which Uranus had just passed over (was at 20 Gemini). This is so arfing exciting! I wonder if I've read the chart right.

3. Radar for commercial & private airplanes 1st demonstrated. Pretty interesting. I'd think that this would be another manifestation of the Saturn-Pluto conjunction in Leo. Commercialization. Plus Neptune was in Libra which meant that "higher forms of knowing" that had been developed during Wartime (WWII) were now being used in peacetime purposes. Jupiter in Scorpio is prominent as singleton in Water. Both Uranus and the North Node were in Gemini (not in conjunction) which is great for intelligence gathering and radio communications.

Norman Cousins - Anatomy of a Poisoning?!

Norman Cousins wrote about his miraculous recovery from a mysterious disease in his book Anatomy of an Illness. In this book Cousins describes how he miraculously healed himself from what was thought to be a fatal illness by using life style changes to improve his mood, the most notable are use of massive quanitities of Vitamin C and through Humor. I read the book a long time ago and on re-reading I noticed some strange details in the story. Cousins got sick while on a Peace making trip to Russia in 1964. The reason for his illness was ultimately never really decided and the diagnosis is sometimes thought to be incorrect. He is very clear on stating that the Doctor told him that his condition would have been caused either by a Staph infection or by heavy metal poisoning. Was Norman Cousins poisoned? Was his book on healing really a cryptic way of reporting on how to recover from a bad visit to Russia? The Cold War was peaking, after all. Cousins was an Editor for the Saturday Review and was savagely trying to de-esculate the tensions through his editorials in order to avoid a Nuclear Holocaust. The Russians have a problem with Freedom of Speech and are still known for poisoning their reporters.

I wanted to look at Cousins' chart to see why the strange illness that he healed himself from would have been such a turning point in his life. The official diagnosis he was given at the time was ankylising spondylitis which he calls "collagen disease." He treated himself by targeting his adrenal glands, for exhaustion which he felt was a result of the trip. This Illness was definitely a Turning Point in Cousins' life. He became more of an advocate for Holistic healing in the human body rather than healing through world politics. I actually began to notice a theme of struggling with odd illnesses all his life that kept bringing him to crisis points. The one illness was only one of these crises.

Natally, Cousins had a very dynamic conjunction of Sun to Pluto, Saturn and Mercury Rx in the beginning degrees of Cancer. Among other things, this combination shows strong managerial skills which would indicate a person who would need to take control of his own illnesses. Cousins had found a constructive outlet for this combination working for Peace, mostly by putting the "Brakes" (Saturn keyword, also maybe Merc Rx?) on Nuclear (Pluto) War. He constantly created Alarm Bells through his writings, trying to bring about change in other areas of life that needed improvement. And like most Sun-Saturn-Pluto people he got results.

And the illnesses he suffered through his life seem to have been awareness that fueled his work. During each illness he became more aware of the suffering in others and the need to bring about change. This began with a misdiagnosis and subsequent institutionalization for Tuberculosis when he was 11 years old. Change was an easy idea for Cousins too: his Uranus was placed in its own sign of Aquarius and was conjunct his North Node. Aquarius is the sign of Hopes, Wishes, Dreams, & Community. This is emphasized further by a trine to Neptune which possibly fans out to a Grand Trine with Cousins' Moon.

So, balancing out the forcefulness/productivity of this Sun-Saturn-Pluto combination, Cousins also had Neptune in Cancer at 30 degrees. Neptune is trining Jupiter at 29 Pisces. Jupiter is also conjunct Chiron in Pisces. This shows a compassionate nature that seeks lightness in the world; the complete opposite of the dire circumstances which are indicated by the Sun-Saturn-Pluto-Mercury combination (Sun and Pluto are on an Aries Point).

Healthwise, this strong Neptune-Pisces emphasis in Cousins' chart may be the reason for the nature of so many of his illnesses. Misdiagnosis, Placebo Effect, Emotions, Miracle Cures. Also hysteria. There is a chance that the Jupiter-Neptune trine are involved in a Water Grand Trine with the Moon but I can't say either way because his birth time is not available. Cousins proved the value of alternative forms of healing and was a major facilitator in introducing importance of the Emotions for medical recovery. There's a strong emphasis of planets in Water Signs in his chart.

At Age 11 Cousins was misdiagnosed with Tuberculosis and sent to a sanatorium (Neptune). Age 11 is the Jupiter Return year so it seems that his Jupiter in Pisces trine Neptune in Cancer is to blame in some way for this mix-up. His Jupiter squares his natal Sun-Pluto conjunction so one can see how this could have been a time when he learned to mistrust the opinions of others, or at least to not take their word as the only option. He said this was also the time that he first understood the level of discomfort that patients have in hospitals and how that can hinder healing.

The Jupiter Return would have been extra important and Cousins' chart would have had a mutual reception type of transit between his Jupiter and Uranus this year (around 1926?). T. Uranus was passing over natal Jupiter and t. Jupiter was passing over natal Uranus. Uranus, of course, was strong in its own sign and conjunct Cousins' North Node, strongly hooking him into his Destiny. On the negative side, Jupiter and Uranus can bring community hysteria. His Doctors were probably overwhelmed by the Tuberculosis epidemic at that point to keep the illness from spreading; there was a Saturn-Neptune square going on in the skies as well. Saturn was in Scorpio and filling out the Grand Water Trine with natal Jupiter and Neptune. This seems to have been a trigger spot for Cousins' later illnesses as well.

Later in 1954, right after the time of Cousins' Nodal Return, he was diagnosed as having had a "silent heart attack" whatever that is. He was given 18 months to live. I told you he was continually faced with these dire circumstances diagnoses. Cousins was 38 years old and just past his Nodal Return in Aquarius. Heart is ruled by the Sun and Cousins' progressed Sun was at 10 Leo approaching conjunction with his South Node 19 Leo. He was approaching his Neptune Square and Uranus opposition but not quite there yet. I'm not sure of the dates so can't say more.

In late July, 1964, Cousins traveled to Russia on a Political Visit. On the way home he began to feel feverish and then his body began to ache. He thought he had the flu. Within a week he was hospitalized because he could barely move. His neck and hands broke out in nodules. The Doctors gave him a diagnosis of ankylosing spondylitis which is a collagen disease of the connective tissues. They said his spine was dissolving and his chances of surviving were very slim. A typical Cancer, Cousins decided he couldn't get better on hospital food and environment so with the Doctor's permission he checked into a Hotel. As the Doctors said that his main problem was that his Adrenal Glands were not functioning he began to take massive amounts of Vitamin C and began to listen to and watch Comedy films in order to laugh. He found that he could actually sleep and was relieved of pain for a couple of hours after his spirits were raised.

It is extremely that interesting that Cousins was approaching his Chiron Return at this time (about 4 degrees from conjunction). Chiron is the Healer/Teacher in Mythology who couldn't heal himself and is conjunct Jupiter which is one of the planets for jolly living. Cousins saw this as the turning point in his life. His Chiron-Jupiter conjunction is in Pisces. The emphasis on water certainly brings in the Emotional Element.

According to Rex Bills, Laughter is ruled by Venus and sub-co-ruled by Neptune. Humor is ruled by Venus, Jupiter, Mercury (Moon). Comedy, Comedians ruled by Venus.

Natal Venus in Cousins' chart is in Gemini. The only aspect it makes is a trine to Uranus in Aquarius. At the beginning of August, transiting Venus was at the end of Gemini and spent the first couple of weeks passing over the Pluto-Sun-Saturn-Mercury Rx conjunction in Cousins' chart. Venus spent all of the month passing through the sign of Cancer in conjunction with Mars and for about a week it was in a Grand Trine with t. Neptune and t. Chiron-natal Chiron! If you're going to heal yourself through Laughter you certainly would like to have a Grand Water Trine involving Venus and Neptune happening for yourself. Being given a Death Sentence during such a time just makes you a little giddy.

I was most curious if the true story is that the Russians poisoned Cousins. The Doctors said that the cause of the illness would either have been heavy metal poisoning or a staph infection. Cousins' wife, who was with him during the trip to Russia, contracted neither. Poisoning would be a Neptune-Pluto thing. One would really want to see Cousins' 7th and 12th houses to see if he was accumulating extra enemies at this point which I can't do without a birth time.

Cousins was just approaching his Chiron Return in Pisces (c. N.Jupiter). Chiron at that point was at 19 Pisces and opposing Uranus 9 Virgo-Pluto 13 Virgo (Mercury at this point was also in Virgo passing over the 2 planets).

The Transiting Sun was in Leo at onset of illness. On August 1 it was at 10 Leo, the same spot where his progressed Sun was when he was diagnosed with "Silent Heart Attack". It also would have hit Cousins' Nodal Axis about a week or two later. Cousins' progressed Sun had moved forward to exact conjunction with his South Node. Transiting Neptune was at 15 Scorpio squaring his Nodal Axis and opposing his natal Mars in Taurus. Wherever it came from, poisoning was certainly indicated in the transits and progressions.

And then one looks at what Mars was doing to Cousins. Transiting Mars was conjunct the Transiting South Node at 2 Cancer. This was right on his natal Pluto and within a degree of the natal Sun, 4 degrees away from natal Saturn and Mercury. His progressed Mars was not far behind at 26 Gemini. These, of course, are squaring that Jupiter-Chiron conjunction in Pisces. He may have become a little pushy to be around during his Peace Mission to Russia and angered some secret enemies. Neptune-Pluto experiences are never the kinds of things one really wants to discuss in public later on. Either way, the sign of Cancer rules overseas travels and this was probably not Cousins' favorite Kodak moment.

There's some chance that Cousins' progressed Moon was conjunct the transiting Uranus-Pluto-Mercury conjunction (transit) and opposing his natal Chiron-Jupiter. He describes Laughter as jiggling his insides back into shape. That sounds like a Cancer's way of healing due to the fact that we probably have bigger glands than everyone else, more to jiggle.

Moving on, Cousins had a Heart Attack on Dec. 22, 1980 just after lunch while at his home in Los Angeles. As the Doctor said, this time his illness was real and obvious. The Doctor told him that laughing and jiggling his innards around was not desirable. Cousins was 65. It was just past the Full Moon which happened right on his Sun-Pluto-Saturn-Mercury conjunction. He was also going through a Nodal Opposition with a square from transiting Chiron in Taurus. At this point Uranus was in Scorpio completing a Grand Trine aspect to n.Neptune trine Jupiter-Chiron. This is the trigger spot that I mentioned earlier during Cousins' tuberculosis diagnosis (the spot where t.Saturn was). Other than that, Jupiter, Saturn, Pluto were all in Libra but they weren't squaring any of the Cancer planets.

Cousins died on Nov. 30, 1990 in Los Angeles, CA of Heart Failure. The Transits are pretty amazing.

Remember the trigger spot in Scorpio that I pointed out? Saturn was there for the Tuberculosis Diagnosis. Uranus was there for the Heart Attack. Now Pluto was at 19 Scorpio just moving into trine with natal Jupiter-Chiron and Neptune. Not only that but Cousins was having a Chiron Trine so t. Chiron was conjunct natal Neptune. And the Nodal Axis was involved. The South Node was conjunct Cousins' natal Neptune to the Degree. He soared out of his life on an Outer Planet Kite. Now that's something to laugh with Joy over (especially because Saturn wasn't involved).

So I don't know if Cousins was poisoned by the Russians. Sorry. It sure does look like it though. And I've developed a terrible fever over the past few days while trying to write this so I'm going to hit the Publish button before it kills me.

Fog causes 100 Car Pile-Up in Fresno

Fresno, CA gets these awful Tule Fogs which are known to cause traffic accidents and there was a huge one today. Massive 100 Car pile up on Highway 99.

What rules Fog? Neptune? Moon? Geez, probably my whole chart.

I had to look at the Event Chart for this accident just to make sure both of these planets were angular. Yup. Neptune c. IC and Moon in H10 c. Saturn/SN.

They say the mess started around 7:45 am (Nov. 3, 2007, Fresno, CA). With a visibility of around 2 feet in front of you it's anybody's guess how long cars were crashing into each other. This gives a Scorpio Ascendant with the Sun conjunct and just rising from the 12th House. The Sun is in a Grand Trine with Mars in Cancer and Uranus in Pisces. That's a good indicator for an accident especially with the Sun contacting the Ascendant like this. With Pluto ruling the chart the accident would be Massive.

Neptune is at 20 Aquarius conjunct the 22 Aquarius IC. The Moon was in Virgo in the 10th House conjunct Saturn and the South Node.

Ruler of the Chart is Pluto (H2) (Mass Destruction) which was trining the Moon.

There were two fatalities here, one a 6 year old boy and the other a 28-year old Man. Mars in Cancer hooks in the little boy. He would have also maybe been going through his Jupiter opposition in Gemini (traffic). I wonder if the death of the 28-year old Man would be somehow connected with his Progressed Lunar Return as the Moon was conjunct the South Node and Saturn. On the East Coast a 28-year old Runner died tragically at around the same time (ET) while trying out for a Marathon in New York City. Someday maybe we'll have a huge astrology database that will give us all these charts to compare.

Eliel and Eero Saarinen

This was supposed to be a study of the Gateway Arch, a Memorial built in St. Louis, Missouri, officially called the Jefferson National Expansion Memorial. I drove across the country a few years ago and one of the high points of my trip was seeing this elegant Monument which was built as a link between the Eastern and Western parts of the United States. It was built near the spot where Lewis & Clark started their expedition to explore the Western half of the United States and Saarinen designed it so that it would look like it was soaring. I managed to find a hotel room with a view onto the Arch and sat for hours watching the changing lights of the Sun setting all around it.

I started out by looking at the chart of the architect who designed the Arch, Eero Saarinen, and then out of curiosity looked at the chart of his Father, Eliel, who was also a brilliant Architect, and found the strangest Astro story. The family immigrated to the United States from Finland in 1923. Here are their Birth Dates:

d. Sept. 1, 1961 Ann Arbor, Michigan

Sun 27 Leo; Moon probably in Aquarius, maybe Pisces; NN 24 Taurus

Eliel Saarinen (Father)
b. Aug. 20, 1873 Rantasalmi, Finland
d. July 1, 1950 Bloomfield, Michigan

Sun 27 Leo; Moon Cancer or Leo; NN. 19 Taurus

Right off the Bat you can see that Eero the Son was born on his Father's Solar Return and also on his Nodal Return. Both men's Suns square their Nodal Axis. When Eero was born, Eliel's progressed Venus was conjunct their Suns. Eero may also have had an opposition of Aquarius Moon to the Leo Sun which expands his t-square out into a Grand Square.

Both Father and Son share unaspected Jupiter and Chiron as well. Eliel the Father also had natal unaspected Venus in Cancer and Uranus in Leo. I assume that with birth times these planets would show up as aspecting the angles since their careers were so successful. Both Father and Son had Saturn Retrograde which seems very appropriate for Architects since Saturn has to do with Structure. But also makes me wonder what their relationship was like with each other. Eero worked with his Father but soon branched out on his own.

Comparing these two charts, it's almost as if the sky were saying that it would take two generations to complete the message that Nature had in mind. The only other thing I'll mention is that Eero's Uranus, while not unaspected, is very prominently aspected in his chart. It's located in Capricorn and involved in an opposition to Neptune in Cancer so it represents a generational influence that was able to use conventional engineering techniques and boundaries represented by the material known world to create new forms that basically exploit the previously known boundaries. (Whew, I'm going to leave that sentence there but you don't really have to try to read it). In short, he was able to work great technological advances while achieving extreme beauty (Venus in Leo, Mercury and Mars in Virgo).

The Arch was designed by Eero (the Son) for a competition in 1947. Ground wasn't broken until Feb. 12, 1963 (completed Oct. 28, 1965) and it was dedicated Dec. 21, 1965. Eero, however, had developed a brain tumor and had died in surgery on Sept. 1, 1961. The Arch was completed by his Partners. His transits at time of death were very precise.

• Uranus was conjunct the North Node conjunct his Sun all at 27 Leo.
  
• T. Saturn was at 22 Capricorn conjunct his Neptune at 21 Cancer opposing Uranus.
  
• His Progressed Sun and prog. Mars were both conjunct his natal Jupiter (Unaspected in Chart).
  
• Also, he was having his Chiron Return in Pisces (Unaspected in Chart).
• T. Pluto was at 9 Virgo conjunct n. Mars at 10 Virgo.
  

The Mars-Pluto contacts plus Uranus seem to indicate a Brain Tumor to me but I'm certainly not a pro at Medical Astrology. I wonder if the fact that his Progressed Mercury had just Retrograded back into Virgo, sign indicating Health ruled by Mercury which rules the thinking processes, is also significant. It would help to know the rulers of his 12th and 1st houses to talk about any further.

On the day that Eero died, Eliel's chart was totally in sync his own chart, it seems in almost a jealous kind of way. His Progressed Sun and prog. Mars were conjunct at 25 Scorpio conjunct his Son's South Node in Scorpio. Natally, Eliel (the Father) had a conjunction of Pluto with his North Node. (Remember they both had the same Nodal Axis.) This was squaring both men's Suns plus the Uranus-Node transit. In addition, Eliel's Pluto was passing over his son's natal Jupiter. Of course, we'll never know the nature of their relationship, but it seems that this Arch was more of a Gateway to Heaven than a Gateway out West.

(And as a matter of fact I just found this on Wikipedia: "When Saarinen won the competition, the official notification was sent to "E. Saarinen", thinking it to be the architect's father Eliel Saarinen, who had also submitted an entry. The family celebrated with a bottle of champagne, and two hours later an embarrassed official called to say the winner was, in fact, the younger Saarinen. The elder Saarinen then broke out a second bottle of champagne to celebrate his son's success."). Both men were having their Nodal Returns in 1947 which indicates some sort of Fated occurence which they both share. I remember reading that Nodes on the Taurus/Scorpio axis are often the most difficult to deal with as the Soul has tough lessons to learn about materialistic gain in the world. Competition with one's family members can be especially tricky as one is bound to them through blood.
