"1957-J-No. 2" Gets Lap Dance

A drunk tattoo artist went into the Clyfford Still Museum in Denver, Colorado, pulled down her pants, and had what sounds like sexual relations with one of Clyfford Still's paintings, a 9 1/2 by 12 foot abstraction in Red, Black, White and Yellow that was created in 1957.

You can read about it over at the Denver Post.

Our Lady of the Taboo is currently 36 years old, suffers from alcoholism, and, has done what I wanted to do every time I saw a Clyfford Still painting. And although I know what she did is wrong, taboo as it were and pretty damn rude, I can't help but feel awestruck. Still's paintings are the best representations of American spirit I can think of.

Maybe Age of Aquarius will only allow robots to get crazy. It's too difficult to do stuff like this whilst sober and medicated and spied on by spy cams and cell phones and traffic cams and computer hackers from foreign countries who can get away with being here just because the mob brought them over and now I even read that the police are using the drones to catch people in North Dakota.

As I said, Clyfford Still painted Freedom, the old time U.S. spirit. He was a Sagittarius. And his masterpiece just got peed on, 10,000 dollars worth. (We only think in terms of dollars now, either because we have too much or we don't have any or both).

The event chart for this crime/performance art piece is:

Dec. 29, 2011. 3:30 pm. Denver, Colorado

Sun 8 Capricorn; Moon 12 Pisces; Asc 22 Gemini; MC 28 Aquarius; Nn 14 Sagittarius

I'm sort of wondering why Neptune in Aquarius didn't act out sooner. The planet of chaos in the sign of weirdness. Last degree, last regrets, I guess.

I don't have Carmen Tisch's birth date. Thank God, as if she doesn't have enough to worry about right now, she could have me fiddling around with her planetary placements. All I know is that Sobriety sucks until you get to her advanced level of intoxication.

Tisch is 36 years old which means she's heading into her 2d Nodal Return. The Nodes represent Life Path/Destiny, or something close to thatso she is at an age which maybe is connected with reassessing one's purpose in life and why one has or hasn't made it yet, same as what happens right before one turns 19.

Interesting that the event chart shows the Nodal Axis crossing the ASC/DESC angle. Over at the Descendant, The North Node was conjunct both that angle and the chart ruler, Mercury. Still was a Sagittarius in early degrees so his natal Sun would have just passed over the Descendant/NN/Mercury conjunction.

Neptune, planet of boundarilessness and superconsciousness, often connected with Artists (but not really in Still's chart), and whatever else you call things you can't possibly understand in one lifetime, was conjunct the Midheaven. That's the other angle on the Astrology Wheel and so is another significant placement.

Appropriately, I found this quote made by Clyfford Still over at Wikipedia:

"It's intolerable to be stopped by a frame's edge."

I told you he was a Sadge. They don't like being hemmed in.

And, yeah, the booze helps in Carmen Tisch's case.

When hooking up Clyfford Still's natal chart to the event chart we see all kinds of interesting connections with the planet Pluto. Pluto rules Sex, Death and all that is Taboo and cant' be spoken about. Pluto rules magneticism and the occult. It's the higher octave of Mars so instead of chasing the way that Mars does it draws you in and makes you confront the Devil. Pluto rules the Human Will. And Human Will is what Human creativity is all about.

Still's natal Pluto was at 21 Gemini so was rising at the time of his painting's interaction with an admirer. That means that it was in conjunction with the Ascendant and South Node of the event chart.

Since the ASC/DESC show the compulsion for human relations I suppose this would be a great time for a dead man's soul to break out of the underworld and enjoy a little one on one with the good looking girl staring at your painting. Too bad she had to hit and scratch it. I think she also slid down it. Why wasn't anybody taking a video of this event? God, the only thing that ever gets photographed anymore are mass shootings.

Still's Natal Node Axis was squaring the transiting Axis-ASC/DESC pole as well. Maybe he was thinking he could reincarnate this way? Weird.

Anyways, Still's natal Neptune was also being pulled out from its proverbial grave as there was a tight opposition from the Sun and Pluto on this day as well. Natal Neptune is at 8 Cancer. Transiting Sun c. Neptune opposing From 8 Capricorn. Neptune and Pluto are strongly connected with psychic experience so I sort of wonder what actually was going on in that museum from a psychic realm point of view. Noel Tyl does describe Neptune-Pluto connections as "Wipe Outs." In this case, it seems that it was more of a scratch out. Oh, and Tisch was so drunk she managed to wet what would have been her pants had she been wearing them.

Playing the Lotto with Delma Kinney

According to a Huffington Post article, two time Lottery Winner Delma Kinney is a Sadge.

Sagittarius is ruled by Jupiter. And Jupiter is the Planet of Luck. And in the last few weeks Jupiter in Taurus (money) has been in trine aspect with Pluto (other people's money). Last week the two have been connected in a Super Lucky Grand Trine aspect with Mars in Virgo.

Lucky Grand Trine? No-o-oo-ooo Kidding?!!!!

This guy is showing us how it is done.

The articles don't seem to give a specific date for Kinney's wins. Last week, Kinney was at the Chevron Mini Mart buying cold medicine when he bought his happy ticket (natal Mercury in Scorpio in mutual reception with Pluto in Virgo).

Why can't we ever see the security footage for events like this? Video of some Sadge buying his second Million $$$ Lottery Ticket ... along with Date/Time stamp for proper Astroblab?!!!

Either way, looks like it was last week or the week before. Previous Win was in 2008.

Looks like Mr. Kinney will celebrate his 51st Birthday this week so he's under the influence of His Sagittarius Solar Return. He would have been 48 years old in 2008. (Wait, since his Birthday is so late in the year I may not have calculated the math correctly.)

Playing around with the idea of "What Planetary Cycle are You Currently Under the Influence Of?" we note that in 2008 it could possibly have been Kinney's Jupiter Return, or just after.

Now, at the big 5-0- Kinney is under the influence of his Chiron Return. They say that when you turn 50, you become a Golden Oldie. This guy is certainly rolling in the Gold.

Kind of interesting how the articles state that Kinney put money away to pay for his kids' education with the first win. Jupiter rules higher education. Now, he tends to give some money to charity. Chiron Returnish. Kinney is a single Father of 3 kids (but probably not for very long.)

Delma Kinney, two time Million Dollar Instant Lottery Winner
b. maybe Dec. 5, 1960 (don't know where, he is now in Atlanta, GA)

Sun 14 Sagittarius; Moon Cancer; NN 11 Virgo Rx

The Astrology is just much for me to handle. Kinney has an exact natal trine between Jupiter 9 Capricorn and Pluto-NN at 9 Virgo-11 Virgo. Those two planets bring success when they work together.

Kinney's natal trine of Jupiter to Pluto layers right over the transiting Earth Grand Trine of Mars at early Virgo to t.Pluto at 7 Capricorn and to t. Jupiter at 3 Taurus. And it gets even wilder than that because the Trine fans out into a Kite. Transiting Mars-n.Pluto-NN opposing t. Chiron 1 Pisces-Neptune 29 Aquarius-n. Chiron 28 Aquarius.

Also, connected with this Kite Axis figure is progressed Sun which is currently at 6 Aquarius.

AND also Kinney's Solar Arc Mars and maybe SA Moon are at 9 Virgo in conjunction with the transiting Mars and natal Pluto-NN. Kinney's natal Mars is Retrograde and Out of Bounds so it has exceptional powers. It's in Cancer maybe in conjunction with the Moon. Interesting configuration for a single Father of 3 to have. He probably likes to build swing sets and stuff. And he has psychic abilities. He could feel the vibe in that Chevron Mini Mart. He just knew he could manifest that Lucky Lotto one more time.

The astrology goes on and on. Natal Venus (Cash) is at 25 Capricorn c. natal Saturn 17 Capricorn opposing natal Mars 18 Cancer Rx.

Wish I had the date for the 2008 Win. At the end of 2007 Kinney would have had an extra long Mars Return because Mars went Retrograde over his natal Mars Rx. Right now his progressed Mars is on the Cancer Aries Point at 1 Cancer Rx.

At the end of 2007 there was a very lucky conjunction of Jupiter to Pluto at the end of Sagittarius.

New York's First Divorcee, Eunice Hawley Chapman

New York State's first divorce occurred in 1818. It was awarded to a Sagittarius woman with a Gemini North Node, wouldn't you know? The woman's name was Eunice Hawley Chapman and her story is written about in a book called The Great Divorce by Ilyon Woo. Er, actually I think that link, if it works, goes to the NPR show about the book: http://www.npr.org/templates/story/story.php?storyId=129162937.

Eunice Hawley Chapman
b. Nov. 22, 1778 (NS?) Bridgeport, NY

Sun 1 Sagittarius; Moon Sagittarius or Capricorn; NN 22 Gemini

Many markers for divorce in this chart. A Sagittarius Sun is freedom loving. Having the Nodes on the Gemini/Sagittarius pole will indicate a flexibility which will thrive on multiples of anything in the life.

Uranus, a major ruler of Divorce (rebellion, breaking status quo, equality), is prominently placed in Eunice's chart conjunct the Gemini North and also handle of a Sling Chart. Lilith, female agent of equality in relationships and bad marriages because of that need, is conjunct the South Node. And squaring these two is a wide square of Jupiter 23 Virgo to Neptune 2 Libra.

Libra and Venus's presence is always interesting to look at within divorce because they rule Marriage and the female side of relationships. With Mars (husband) conjunct Neptune in Libra it is interesting that Eunice divorced her husband because he drank too much and had withdrawn into the religious community of the Shakers which didn't believe in sexuality. This combination is more comfortable with the romantic notions of love and high idealism rather than the actual desire to make relationships work.

Venus in Eunice's chart is very strongly featured. It is placed at 15 Capricorn showing that this woman would not be bullied by Authority of any kind. She was a take charge type of lady. Venus is very prominent, both out of bounds (26 degrees, 04 minutes) and unaspected to other major planets, maybe conjunct the Moon in which both are unaspected. Can't comment on the Moon since I don't have a birth time. This could perhaps shows a very strong take charge type of woman, but perhaps a bit intimidating to be a relationship with.

Eunice's Progressed Venus had been Retrograding since around 1803-4. This could indicate the initiation of a long phase of low self esteem which could have led her into an abusive marriage. I can't find the year of her marriage.

The Placement of Saturn in Eunice's chart reiterates her very strong approach to her marriage, perhaps inherited from her Father. Saturn is placed at 20 Scorpio which shows strong leadership and executive skills. It is singleton in both Fixed Signs and Water Signs. Because of her strong Jupiter and Saturn influence she probably had more faith in going to the Legislature and Legal System for help in bringing about this huge change in the Law. More info here: http://ricefamilylaw.com/blog/2010/08/05/eunice-h-chapmans-legislative-divorce/

So,

divorce proceedings begun, 1815

Divorce Granted
May, 1818

First of its kind in New York State, Possessions and Children included

In the transits there are major outer planet configurations during this month. There was a conjunction of Uranus 20 Sagittarius to Neptune 26 Sagittarius. This explains the need for Freedom and Rights not to the Husband's withdrawal into weird religious beliefs and booze (two go together like bread and butter, heheh). Eunice was born 2 years into the American Revolution so the word was flinging all around her. Uranus-Neptune was squaring an end of sign conjunction of Saturn, Chiron and Pluto (17, 25, 27 degrees respectively)in Pisces. Wow, how close is that to the Pisces-Aries cusp, major angle of the horoscope? Talk about letting things fall apart in order to give birth to a new age... Either way, pretty powerful transit, a little like current times.

The actual divorce took 3 years. The date in May alludes to the event where the entire town accompanied Eunice out to the Shaker village where Eunice's husband was keeping their children. This led to some of the first womens' rights laws after marriage.

Sarah Palin's Backyard

Poor Sarah Palin.

Poor, Poor Sarah Palin.

I never thought I'd be able to say that and mean it but for the next 5 months I really do mean it. This is as far below the belt as one can lay a punch: A journalist-writer-guy, Joe McGinniss, has moved into the house next door to Palin's intending to write an unauthorized biography about her called Sarah Palin's Year of Living Dangerously. Don't know if Joe can see Russia, but, have seen the photos and Joe (not the plumber) literally has a view straight down into her backyard.

Isn't Summer mostly daylight up in Alaska? I mean, for 22 hours of the day that guy is going to have every type of spy-cam trained on to every inch of that house along with amplified microphones that will pick up every pin drop.

Sarah's a double Aquarius but her Sun and Moon are in her 4th House of Home. She's got Capricorn on the IC. I guess that means that homelife just tends to get straight under her skin. Either way, if you want to attack her then the thing that will upset her the most is going after her family and homelife. Maybe her Aquarius will take over and she'll just make friends with the guy and ask him to move in.

According to Wikipedia Joe was born on:

Dec. 9, 1942 New York City? or Massachusetts.

Hey, isn't that Pearl Harbor Day? Sort of seems like it might be. Ah, heck no, Pearl Harbor Day was on Dec. 7, not Dec. 9 and in 1941, not 1942. Guess the planets didn't rotate too much that whole year cause this guy is sort of stuck in attack mode.

Joe McGinniss, according to Wikipedia

Sun 17 Sagittarius; Moon probably in Capricorn (shit), maybe Sadge but I don't think so; NN 29 Leo

Can you imagine having a creepy Capricorn Moon move in next door knowing that he's watching your every move? Didn't Alfred Hitchcock already make this movie? Maybe McGinniss sort of thinks of himself as a dead Jimmy Stewart.

Seriously, on the surface Joe is just a silly Sun-Mercury-Venus conjunction in Sagittarius. A fun guy. That's a perfect combination for having strong opinions about all things of surface value. Joe was given this opportunity by his publisher, probably dreamt it up while he was drunk, and now he's going to run with it. Maybe he can even pull it off. Maybe a bear will eat him.

So, with all that Sadge, Joe's got all kinds of opinions about stuff that doesn't matter and he writes about them. Honest to God, he doesn't have a clue how he could stoop so low, because at one time, long long ago, like all the rest of us who went to College, Joe once had ambitions to be a serious journalist. At this point, though, probably even Rush Limbaugh is blushing in embarrassment over Joe's contorted ambitions. Joe's Sadge stellium trines his Leo North Node which is in conjunction with Chiron. He maybe has sort of just relaxed into settling for being a half-assed writer. Obviously it pays the bills.

The 3d house rules neighbors and it turns out that Joe's Sadge Sun-Mercury-Venus is in Sarah Palin's 3d house of neighbors. They were just meant to roast up some weenies in the backyard together on those fun Saturday afternoons -- just that Joe will be up in the 2d story window, drinking a beer, talking on his cell to New York, and filming Sarah and her kids the whole time. I bet he even blasts the stereo all night long. Has probably had special woofers and tweeters installed. The Gitmo attitude just plain old sucks. These creeps are out there. That's for certain.

The good neighbor bonding thing between the two charts goes even deeper. Sarah Palin's 3d house, my o my, the gift that keeps on giving. Sagittarius rules Sarah Palin's 3d House cusp and ruler, Jupiter, is closely conjunct her Descendant in Aries (within a degree). That ties her house of open enemies in with her neighbor situation. And, of course, it ties her in with the Sagittarians. And they are quite territorial people. And Aries is the God of War, no further explanation needed. But Sarah likes having Sagittarius types of neighbors. They are hunters. Just it's not real fun being the hunted. The Bears are more civilized, after all. Or, at least, it's legal to aim one's bazooka at a bear who's staring into your back yard. Sagittarius also rules Lawyers so I bet there will be a few of those attending the cook outs as well.

Sarah Palin
b. Feb. 11, 1964 9:43 pm Sandpoint, ID

Sun 23 Aquarius; Moon 7 Aquarius; ASC 16 Libra; MC 19 Cancer; NN 10 Cancer Rx

I already said that Palin's got Sun and Moon in her 4th house. Pretty interesting to notice that the July 11 Total Solar Eclipse will be right over her IC/MC axis which rules home, family and career. Looks like it's already taking effect. The transiting Nodes just passed over this same axis within the last couple of weeks and its very widely conjunct Pluto (power trips).

Hey Sarah, I hear that Joe's house in Massachusetts is empty this Summer... Maybe you could move in there. Sagittarians are anal retentive so it's actually not too difficult to mess with their heads.

Either way, for anyone who reads this please send Joe a valentine or something. The guy is seriously desperate for attention:

1957 problems

Something weird is in the air. Is that a Jupiter-Chiron-Neptune in Aquarius thing?

Successful men are getting caught left and right and it happens that they are all born in the same year, 1957. So, I'm thinking there is some sort of problem going on with the Stars that's affecting the 1957'ers. Is this a case of desperate Middle Age Men hitting both the wall and economic hard times at the same time in life? Is it fall all out from Chiron Returns? Let's just say that in the United States you are innocent until proven guilty so we don't know for certain who did what (but, for the sake of being a jerk I'll probably accuse all of them).

Astrology-wise, ooo wow, looka dose planets. Both Neptune and Pluto were changing signs in 1957 so were near the first degrees of their new signs when when these three men were born. Neptune moved to Scorpio and Pluto moved to Virgo. This means that Pluto's current transit is aspecting both of these outer planets. And when Neptune and Pluto are working together things just ball up and go -- poof.

Virgo and Scorpio both make easy aspects to Capricorn and so how can this be? Some astrologers don't even look at easy transits. Well, Saturn and Uranus are moving in and out of squares with transiting Pluto as they are approaching the big Cardinal t-square aspect to Pluto so the old Scorpion has bedfellows, and these big outer planet bedfellows that pick you up by the nape of your neck and carry you where they please. And that long Venus Rx transit in Aries last Fall stressed Pluto. And Mars just finished opposing Pluto. And the Jupiter-Chiron-Neptune transit is so counter intuitive for the Saturn-Uranus-Pluto stuff that the outies are moving in opposite directions of each other.

Are we coming or are we going? Is the market going up or is the market going down? Are the icebergs melting? (well, that's looking like a one-way street, and, by the way, when the interest rates go up the market goes down and the interest rates are down as low as they can go, and if the bankers just returned their damned bonuses the markets would probably level out.)

First on the check list this past month was New Age Spiritual Warrior James Arthur Ray. Because of the Ooga Booga aspect of this guy's job this certainly sounds like a no-brainer Chiron in Aquarius type of story. "Wounded Teacher of the Weirdos." That's perfect.

Took me about 4 days of internet searches to separate this guy from his historical almost namesake, James Earl Ray, who was the guy who killed Martin Luther King. You'd think that a New Age Guru would have changed his name by now in order to avoid summoning up any creepy old assassins but this guy seems to think he can transcend just about anything. Anyway, there seems to be a similar obsession with death between the two which is really creepy.

The story is, James Arthur Ray is the guy who set up the Spiritual Warrior Retreat in Sedona, AZ which ended in armageddon. About 60-65 people with absolutely no sense in their heads crammed into a plastic tent. They had been on a 40 hour fast and had been doing special hyperventilating techniques all week. Ray is now maybe facing homicide charges for negligence because three people died and around 20 went to the hospital. Really scary is the fact that Ray won't talk to police. And he hasn't gone to the hospital to help the sick. And he's continuing with his preaching. Hehehehe, and now we get a lesson in seeing how Spiritual Warriors slither out of their stupid human tricks. Remember, Jim Jones and his followers? Guess this is the same thing, Spiritul Kool-Aid.

Ray apparently told people that it would feel like they were dying and so they didn't get up and walk out just because they felt uncomfortable. How can anyone trust anybody else that much?

First thing, I wondered when I heard about this, I was curious to know if Ray is a Pluto in Virgo rather than a Pluto in Leo person. Pluto in Virgo can't mock the death rays the way that Pluto in Leo can because Pisces is always on the other end of its axis waiting to end things. The Leo flip side is Aquarius, collective consciousness. The Virgo flip side is Pisces, end o' the line, institution, victimization, and damn fine artists (the other qualities is why the Pluto in Virgo generation doesn't seem to be producing much great art, who wants to go there, after all?)

Ray's chart is extremely interesting in this case because he's a double Sagittarius with Sun squaring Pluto. Without a birth time we don't know the Moon's placement but the Moon may also be squaring Pluto. That would make a New Moon squaring Pluto in his birth chart. Since I don't know the birth time, I won't say anything about the Moon though.

But, Sun-Pluto in a square together reads on a very simple level "Ego challenges Power". Sun-Pluto people think they are transformers. They sort of turn spirituality into a tonka truck game because of this. Remember Lenny from Of Mice and Men? Thing is, they are "manifesters." They are very creative, of course, but they can also through use of will, create. Sometimes they can be lacking in vision and intelligence and compassion and that can be a drag. And, they have to watch out what they ask for and talk about because these two planets manifest absolutely everything, especially the deep, dark fears, that go through the native's head due to Pluto's need to confront all that is taboo. These people struggle with loneliness like you wouldn't believe.

Ray actually has four planets in Sagittarius. Sun, Moon, Mercury and Saturn Rx. This shows boundless enthusiasm and a buoyant spirit. It also can indicate a "Confidence Man" type of personality. Sagittarians don't really admit when they do wrong. They're used to getting away with things by use of their charms. That's why grumpy, guilty, karma tripping Capricorn has to follow. Pluto is passing from one of these signs to the other right now.

Donna Cunningham has written a great blog about Ray's chart on her website "Skywriter.com." She concentrates on Ray's natal Mars-Neptune-NN conjunction in Scorpio. I suppose I'd prefer to see that aspect in an old surfer myself, but New Age Guru sounds appropriate too.

Please also notice other aspects that play right into the Scorpio North Node, plus Mars and Neptune. One is a very prominent square between Venus and Jupiter in Rays' chart. Both planets have prominence and demand to be noticed. First, Venus in Capricorn is prominent because she has recently turned Retrograde by Progression over Ray's natal Chiron. In the progressed chart they are both conjunct to the degree. Venus rules everything that Ray seems to talk about in his lectures. Things having to do with wealth. Chiron represents the great sage who could teach others how to heal themselves but couldn't heal his own wounds. Venus going retrograde can be an assault on one's loveability. Ray won't admit it but just as his star was beginning to shine in 2003-4 his charms were actually dimishing. Wonder if he sold it -- his soul that is.

The second element of this square, Jupiter, is prominent in Ray's chart because it is a singleton in Air and is the dispositor of Ray's Sun and Moon, Mercury and Saturn. Also, by Secondary Progression it has just changed signs and has moved into Scorpio. Scorpio, Scorpio, Scorpio. Death, Sex and Taxes.

And Jupiter's influence keeps going. Ray's progressed Jupiter is now in conjunction that natal Neptune-Mars-NN conjunction which shows off his guru stuff. This, of course, sets off everything having to do with his destiny as ruled by the North Node. Strange how there's a mirror-image Jupiter-Neptune transit in the sky right now in conjunction with Chiron (Wounded Healer). This influence is so compounded right now in Ray's chart, it's scary. Plus, like I said, Sagittarius doesn't admit to wrongs committed and Neptune, well Neptune in an emergency just freaks out and runs. That's actually not bad. If you're useless in an emergency better to get the hell out than to stand around and cry the way I do.

And, so, this all ties right back into Ray's progressed Venus-Chiron conjunction because the two sets of planets are in the same spot with each other 15-25 Aquarius right now. And not only that but they were passing over the Ascendant just as this Sweat Lodge in Sedona began. And in addition to that they were involved in a Grand Trine with the Sun and the Moon on the day of the tragedy. There you go with more positive aspects. The fact that the people at the sweat lodge were suffering and didn't either ask for help or just get up and walk out demonstrates Noel Tyl's interpretation of the Grand Trine aspect, which is just that, people under this aspect influence don't seem to be able to reach out and ask for help. (Of course, people born with a Grand Trine are generally given help).

As I said, as of 2003-4, Ray's progressed Venus has been moving in Retrograde motion. That bodes ill for a person's loveability (sp?) quotient. Venus is related to one on one relationships and to self-esteem related to material wealth. It's almost as if Venus tempted him with extreme amounts of these wonderful things and now is going to pull it all out from under him. I actually can't find any information about Ray's relationship status, married, single, gay, straight, but that would seem to be involved in some way.

Ray's got to go through this kind of hell because he's got a natal square between Sun and Pluto, both power planets that manifest a person's deepest fears in the real world. The square likes to throw big challenges at you related to whatever planets it hooks together.

Moving on, another 1957 guy, one of the United States' richest men, Raj Rajaratnam, Hedge Fund Manager. Rajaratnam's company, Galleon Group, has been making 10 percent income in spite of everyone else's losses. That's less than what Bernie Madoff was making but is still pretty good. Rajaratnam has been arrested for Insider Trading. I can't make heads or tails out of the situation, it was like this with Martha Stewart too. This is more complicated high finance games that I don't understand. This guy was prodding his employees to get "the edge."That's the only story we get and my reaction is "Welcome to the States, mean bastard. You will do well here." Can you really be arrested for this though? Guess I don't have the full story. Anyway, this guy also has a weird name. It's like his parents were stuttering on his last name when they wrote the info down for the birth certificate, like Eric Ericson, Sam Samson. Why bother giving the kid a first name at all? Maybe it's only a nickname.

This guy gets arrested during his Mars Return in Cancer. His progressed Mars and Pluto are in conjunction at the end of Leo. What is that Star that hangs out at the end of Leo? It's a sign of great success and then loss of great success. Maybe he did get a little too aggressive. A Gemini Sun with a Cancer Mars guy is going to be a little bit of a mood swinger. He's been arrested so he must be getting messed up by the Neptune transit in some way. My computer is getting messed up by something else so I can't really look it up right now.

And moving on from that another 1957 guy, Stewart Nozette, a bigwig Scientist with the Feds, has been caught and arrested for trying to sell information to the Israelis. Aren't the Israelis our allies? Do they need to buy our secrets? They probably made our secrets. Why bother going over the Government's head on that one? This guy was one of the scientists who was responsible for thinking that there may be water on the Moon and I know that the scientists are really bored by how boring the bombing was. Something about not being able to see a plume after the bomb was dropped. Maybe the bomb missed the target and no one wants to admit it.

I do know that this Moon failure thing brings us back to the big Saturn-Uranus-Pluto t-square in the sky that is trying to resolve itself through its Geminian/Cancerian empty leg.

This guy, Stewart Nozette, like the Guru, has a Sun-Pluto square as well. The Moon in his chart is also possibly involved in a t-square with Sun and Pluto.

So, anyway, these guys have the Scorpio North Nodes which is said to be a toughie. The Pluto transit is just really hooking them in. Frightening. Okay, so I've got major computer weirdness and am going to have to quit.

Laura Ling

This past spring I wrote a blog entry that related the Venus Retrograde transit to the capture of female journalists abroad. Roxanna Barberi has since been released from Iran. Laura Ling and Euna Lee are still in detention in North Korea. They were detained on March 17, were given a trial beginning June 4, and found guilty of crossing the borders illegally on June 8. They were sentenced to 12 years of hard labor in a prison camp. Since the U.S. has no diplomatic ties with North Korea negotiations are particularly difficult. According to Wikipedia, Lee and Ling were reporting on the trafficking of women between the two countries.

I haven't found a birth date for Euna Lee. She is said to be 36 years old and originally born in South Korea. She is a producer for Current TV. I've just found a birth date for Laura Ling. I have no idea if this is the correct date for her, many entries are confusing her birth date with her sister Journalist Lisa Ling (who is a Virgo). If this birth date is correct, Laura Ling is a Sagittarius. That's good. Sagittarians are hardy folk.

Laura Ling

source for birth info About.com

Laura Ling's chart is dominated by Fire. She has a conjunction of the Sun, Mars, and Neptune in Sagittarius which is trining her Saturn in Leo. This trine may possibly expand out into a Grand Trine with an Aries Moon but without a birth time it is impossible to know where the Moon's exact placement is but it will definitely be in Aries (assuming that this is her correct birth date).

With this conjunction/stellium in Sagittarius it is easy to understand why Ling would be attracted to adventure, publishing, an independent lifestyle like journalism, especially journalism which involves reporting on affairs in foreign countries. This is anything connected with the sign of Sagittarius.

With the Sun conjunct Mars and the Moon in the sign which Mars rules Ling could be attracted to dangerous situations. She definitely would be a highly idealistic person. And with a Saturn-Neptune trine could be a very compassionate person who is very empathetic towards suffering. Placement of the Moon in her chart could really complicate things if it's placed within a Grand Trine with these planets. The Moon rules Feelings and Emotions. This could be an indicator for rash behavior. But, a Trine also brings a lot of luck in life. Fire can flow into and out of situations easily. The Moon might also oppose Pluto which would turn the Grand Trine into a Kite pattern. This indicates that Luck in Ling's chart will focus itself and not stay self-contained within the chart and the life. But, Moon-Pluto oppositions can show some deep, complicated feelings about attracting resentment from others. Her Scorpio North Node repeats this more complicated theme.

Ling was taken into custody during the long Venus Retrograde transit that occurred this past Spring when Venus was in Aries for a really long time. This could have been hovering over her natal Moon for an extra long time. Venus was also squaring t.Pluto for an extra long time because of the transit. Pluto = Power plays and she and Lee are being used as Pawns in big Politics between North Korea and the United States. Their personal problem just seem to explode out into bigger and bigger issues.

Ling's stellium is really fascinating to study. This conjunction of Sun to Mars and Neptune in Sagittarius is prominent because the three planets are also parallel with each other. Parallels are like mini-conjunctions so this means that the 3 planets try to work together in a Double Whammy conjunction. The Sun and Mars together can be a bit self serving, or at least rash, but in conjunction with Neptune they can be directed towards an idealistic, perhaps not very realistic self expression.

With Neptune's ability to blur boundaries it is interesting that Ling has been jailed for crossing borders into enemy territory in a major International case. Neptune/12th House rules prisons and other institutions. Transiting Neptune and Jupiter are also hanging out over Kim Jong-Il's Sun which is pretty interesting. Ling's Sagittarius Sun and Neptune are represented in literal terms here in his chart.

I was curious to see where this conjunction has progressed to by Solar Arc to see if anything significant was going on there. Yes. With Mars and Neptune and Sun hanging out over this Venus there is an Aura of Danger (Mars), Rashness (Mars), Boldness (Sun-Mars) and Confusion, Hiding, Prisons (Neptune). Capricorn is related to Career and Government and Authority. All these symbols are mashing together into Ling's life. Ling and Lee were apparently covering a story about trafficking of women over the North Korean/Chinese Border. It's almost as if Ling has fallen into the story she was covering, very Neptunian. Sort of almost Alice in Wonderlandish.

In addition to this big Solar Arc Progression, Ling's Secondary Progressed Mercury is also in conjunction with this spot. Mercury rules Writing and also communication. A Retrograde likes to throw curve balls. Ling's Mercury stationed Retrograde back around 2004-5. I wonder if there was somehow a mix-up of communications related to her situation which could show a need to be more circumspect with regards to anything having to do with communications. Supposedly the women were caught because they didn't have information about a military drill that was breaking up in the area.

At any rate, there will be a Total Eclipse in July at the end of Cancer/Capricorn right near the spot where Ling's Venus is at the end of Capricorn. I hope that she will be released before then as this could be very hard on her emotionally. As she is of Chinese descent I dont' understand why the Chinese are not working with the North Koreans to have her and Lee released.

Ling's Progressed Mars is also in Capricorn at 2 degrees. That's the Aries Point which brings a person into the public eye. It is also on the same spot where t.Pluto is. Pluto, of course, brings Fame, but usually a great crisis as well. When Mars and Pluto are together they can bring an element of danger and a need for great self will. This aspect is not relating strongly to Ling's natal chart, it is perhaps echoing a situation that occurred when Pluto transited over natal Mars a few years ago. That would have been around the time that Ling's Prog. Mercury went Retrograde.

One last thing (I can't stop.) Ling's chart doesn't have many squares. That's sort of odd for someone who takes so many risks in her life. Squares bring challenges and obstacles. It is considered good to have a few in the natal chart. Dealing with some internal tension early in life sort of helps one to develop an inoculation against when things go wrong later on. But, perhaps this is what will pull her through this situation. A person with a Grand Square would be tortured out of their minds just because the captors would pick up on their difficult vibe.

I only hope that the U.S. will send a Super Neptunian person over to Korea to try to spring these women. It will take some super charm to get to them out. And I hope they do it quickly.

AsianWeek.com has a petition to sign to request that significant measures be taken to secure the Women's release.

Bow Wow!

Stump the Sussex Spaniel wowed the Westminster Dog Show Judges yesterday and won Best of Show. Stump is almost 70 years old in Dog Years, having just celebrated his 10th Human Year Birthday.

Found his possible birth date on a website:

Stump the Gorgeous Dog

Dec. 1, 1998. (no place listed)

Sun 10 Sagittarius; Moon Aries or Taurus; NN 26 Leo

Stump is going through many marvelous transits and progressions right now. First a mutual reception transit of Jupiter to Uranus. Both transiting Mars and Jupiter are conjunct his natal Uranus in Aquarius. And transiting Uranus is conjunct his natal Jupiter in Pisces with Saturn opposing which might explain in part his success as an old man. (Well, that part is written in the natal chart with Spotlight Loving Ham Leo North Node trining natal Saturn in Aries).

He can't keep his natural Venusian charms to himself. His Progressed Venus is at 30 Sagittarius conjunct the Aries Point (Success in the outer world) and transiting Pluto (Fame).

An old Virgo Phys Ed Teacher who taught Geriatric Patients told me that the Sadge's retain their sporty, youthful glow way beyond the rest of us. Guess she knew what she was talking about. Stump is in between his Nodal Opposition and his Jupiter Return.

Stump went into retirement after he won Best of Show at the Westminster in 2004. Retirement didn't agree with him, he got sick and wasted away to almost nothing. His progressed Sun was passing over his natal Venus in Sagittarius just near the time of his last win and his brush with death.

The Scream

Happy New Year! I have to admit this isn't my cheeriest Holiday season ever. The World just seems like it's going to Hell in a handbasket (my Mother used to use that expression). Anyway, thought I'd check out the astrology behind one of the greatest symbols for the anxiety of Modern Society.

The Scream was painted around 1893 by Edvard Munch. It features a person so contorted he or she sort of looks like an alien, his mouth drawn out in a big fat zero with his hands over his ears. He's dressed in black, the sky is thick with opaque red. The picture has become one of the most famous paintings ever symbolizing Modern Anxiety. It just so happens that many people think that this painting was inspired by the explosion of Krakatoa in 1883 which occurred 9 1/2 years earlier. The final explosion is thought to have been the loudest sound ever heard. It spread from Indonesia to 2200 miles away in Australia. The skies as far North as Norway were turned red from the ash for months afterwards.

I decided to check the astrology for this explosion against the astrology of Munch's chart to see if there is a planetary explanation why he hooked into it. Actually, I just pulled a book off the shelf in the library by Anthony Aveni called Uncommon Sense and read about how NASA scientists were actually paid to research whether or not Munch was influenced by the explosion of Krakatoa for his painting. Hey, NASA scientists, look what I found. Can I have some of the money?

Krakatoa

began to explode Aug. 26, 1883 at around 1pm

Sun 3 Virgo; 21 Sagittarius Rising; Moon 16 Gemini; NN 5 Scorpio; MC 19 Virgo
Uranus conjunct MC squaring Moon c. DESC

Loudest explosions the next morning (according to Wikipedia) at
5:30am: 25 Leo Rising; 30 Taurus MC // Pluto c. MC squaring Sun-Venus c. ASC
6:42am: 15 Virgo Rising; 17 Gemini MC // Saturn c. MC
8:20am: 11 Libra Rising; 10 Cancer MC // Mars c. MC
10:02am: 9 Scorpio Rising; 4 Leo MC // Nodes straddling ASC-DESC, all planets above Horizon

This chart is a Bundle chart with all the planets held between a trine of Mercury-Uranus in Virgo and Neptune in Taurus. Krakatoa is said to have been 10 times bigger an explosion than the Atomic Bomb "Little Boy." "Little Boy's" chart is also a Bundle chart. Have never really read this description but I guess there's some kind of need for excitement with Bundle Charts.

Krakatoa's Sun was at 3 Virgo. It is apex of a small triangle to a Trine between the Scorpio NN and Mars in Cancer. And it's also squaring a conjunction of Pluto-Chiron-Saturn in Gemini. There is an explosive quality to all of these aspects. The Moon at the first explosion is conjunct this last stellium and by the last explosion has moved on to the last degree of Gemini in conjunction to Mars in Cancer right over the Aries Point. No Void of Course Moon on this day, needless to say.

And there's a Mercury-Uranus conjunction that's prominent on angles and in squares that I won't go into but I suspect that it has something to do with both sound and anxiety as it's in Virgo, the sign of anxiety par excellence. With the animation feature on the software it's just wild to watch this Bundle Shape swing around the chart. At the last and loudest explosion all the planets were above the Horizon and the Nodes were almost exactly straddling the Horizon line.

So, connecting Edvard Munch's chart with this is so much fun. It's basically just a big lesson in Scorpio North Node returns. Scorpio likes intensity, doesn't like to do things half-heartedly. Munch was born with 27 Scorpio North Node and his art is indeed extremely emotional. He made multiple copies of "The Scream" starting in 1992. He first wrote the idea down in his journal on 1/22/1892. At this point the North Node was at 24 Taurus so he was going through his Nodal Opposition.

The Krakatoa explosion happened just after Munch's first Nodal Return. It's North Node is at 5 Scorpio, so it would have happened about 8 months after Munch's Nodal Return (guessing at the amount of time). But it doesn't really matter that it wasn't an exact Nodal Return because this Nodal Axis corresponds pretty closely with Munch's natal Venus-Pluto opposition with Pluto at 11 Taurus opposite Venus-Jupiter in Scorpio. (I've actually remarked on Venus-Pluto imagery at being volcanic in the singer Corinne Bailey Rae, http://outthecometsass.blogspot.com/2006/11/girl-put-your-records-on.html). At any rate, Venus-Pluto is a signature for an artist, especially one who paints emotional extremes.

The imagery of the Red Sky really plays out in the chart for Munch's journal entry. Mars rules the color Reddish Orange and Scorpio/Pluto rules the Deeper Blood Reds. Munch was having his Mars Return in Scorpio (within 2 degrees) and this was conjunct his Natal Scorpio North Node. And, as a matter of fact, I'm writing about this just as we're having a long, drawn out Mars Return over the Krakatoa chart.

And, don't know how exact this timing really is, but Munch's Sun is conjunct the 1 pm chart for the beginning of the explosions on Aug. 16, 1883.

Edvard Munch
b. Dec. 12, 1863 Loten, Norway

Sun 20 Sagittarius; Moon Capricorn; NN 27 Scorpio
"I was walking along a path with two friends—the sun was setting—suddenly the sky turned blood red—I paused, feeling exhausted, and leaned on the fence—there was blood and tongues of fire above the blue-black fjord and the city—my friends walked on, and I stood there trembling with anxiety—and I sensed an infinite scream passing through nature."

Wall St. Journal on a New Leash This Week

Rupert Murdoch will take over as owner of the Dow Jones Corporation this week as mentioned in this Yahoo article: http://news.yahoo.com/s/ap/20071209/ap_on_bi_ge/dow_jones_murdoch. He's spending something like 5B to control The Wall St. Journal and to possibly expand it to include International Markets.

Is this a sign of Jupiter and Pluto hitting each other just as they move over into Capricorn? A little Aries Point Action on the Corporate, Business Front maybe? A Newspaper (Sagittarius) Mogul from overseas taking over the U.S. Stock Exchange (Capricorn).

Murdoch's chart is lit up by the transits like Rudolph's Red Nose. The Jupiter-Pluto conjunction will be in conjunction with his natal Moon at 25 Sagittarius and Ascendant at 2 Capricorn. This mirrors his Natal Jupiter-Pluto conjunction in Cancer in the 7th house. The natal conjunction also includes a conjunction with Mars in Cancer and an opposition to Saturn in Capricorn in H1. Strong willed gentleman. And I guess he supports conservative politics and religion and was the driving force behind the Bush Administration. Pluto in Capricorn is obviously making its 1st ultra depressing debut.

Please note more major transits: t.Saturn is close to conjunction to natal Midheaven and t. Uranus is close natal Pisces Sun.

Rupert Murdoch

Interesting to compare Murdoch's chart with Ben Bernanke, Federal Reserve Board Chairman. Bernanke is a Sagittarius Sun with Pisces Moon and Murdoch is a Pisces Sun with Sagittarius Moon. Bernanke's Sun is at 21 Sagittarius is conjunct Murdoch's Moon. Due to lack of birth time I don't know if they are in conjunction. Also, Murdoch's opposition between Saturn and Mars c. Pluto is laid over Bernanke's Nodal Axis. Bernanke may feel controlled by Murdoch's newspaper.

New Orleans Maternity Ward Hits the Jackpot

New Orleans keeps flooding! Cute story from ABC about a Deluge of Babies that were born in a Hospital in New Orleans. At Oechsner Medical Center the Maternity Ward popped out a set of Triplets, then a set of Quadruplets and then a set of Triplets all within a space of slightly more than 24 hours. The newscaster called it "Hitting the Jackpot." Jackpot? Dang, the Sun must be in Sagg! Yah! along with Mercury and the Jupiter/Pluto conjunction. I just love this Newscaster, he even gave the times for the births. Turns out the Jupiter/Pluto conjunction was always very close to either the Ascendant or the Descendant when the babies were born. Jackpot!

Also interesting to notice is that the Moon (Maternity) in Libra was trining Neptune (Hospital) for the first two births and then had moved on to trine the Pisces (Hospital) North Node for the third birth.

The Sun was squaring the opposition between Saturn in Virgo (Health) and Uranus in Pisces (Hospital) from one side and Mars was sextiling/trining from the other side in Cancer (Maternity).

Gemini and Mercury rule Twins. I don't know what rules Multiple Births, maybe Multiple Planets? (tee hee, atsa joke) At any rate, in this case it's certainly Sagittarius. 10 little Sagittarians with Libra Moons. Opinionated little diplomats. It's a good thing Sagittarians get along so well with other Sagittarians so well because these kids will never lack for a playmate.

Regret

I've been walking around for the last 4 weeks with a book I pulled off the library shelf that's called Regret: The Persistence of the Possible written by Janet Landman. I thought it would be an interesting study to understand how to tell the difference between a person who feels regret and one who doesn't feel regret.

According to Rex Bills "Regret" is ruled by Saturn. That makes sense as Saturn rules Guilt and Loss and Sorrow. Capricorn also tends toward Blame so may not own this side of itself. Sun in Cancer, being the sign opposite Capricorn and also a sensitive water sign, might be more prone to expressing Regret. It's a sign which doesn't easily let go of the past. This is also known as the Cancer Whine.

Thing is, the Sun is in Sagittarius right now and it is my experience that Sagg's don't feel Regret. And I don't feel like talking about this subject while the Sun is in Sagittarius. When the Fire Signs rule you don't want to dwell on anything that gums up the works or catches too much moss. And this book is due at the library and I haven't even begun to try to read it. One interesting section talks about different literary approaches to Regret. Here they are. I'll put them on my reading list and then feel lots of regret that I'll never read them:

Romantic Regret: Dickens: Great Expectations
Comedic Regret: Henry James: The Ambassadors
Tragic Regret: Dostoevsky: Notes from Underground
Ironic Regret: Virginia Woolf: Mrs. Dalloway

Meanwhile, my head is humming with songs that have to do with not feeling regret. By Fancy coincidence, they just happen to have become signature songs for Sagittarius Singers.

The first song is "Non, Je ne regrette rien" which translates into "No! I don't feel sorry about anything." It was sung by the French Chanteuse, Edith Piaf, a Sagittarius. She sings the song from the pit of her stomach saying that she has no regrets. (French lyrics along with English translation at http://www.allthelyrics.com/forum/lyrics-translation/21791-je-ne-regrette-rien-edith-piaf.html).

The second song is "I Did it My Way" sung by Old Blue Eyes, Frank Sinatra, also a Sagittarius Sun. Here are the lyrics; you can see that good old positive Sagittarius Wisdom. Enjoy:

"And now, the end is near,
And so I face the final curtain.
My friends, I'll say it clear;
I'll state my case of which I'm certain.

I've lived a life that's full -
I've traveled each and every highway.
And more, much more than this,
I did it my way.

Regrets? I've had a few,
But then again, too few to mention.
I did what I had to do
And saw it through without exemption.

I planned each charted course -
Each careful step along the byway,
And more, much more than this,
I did it my way.

Yes, there were times, I'm sure you knew,
When I bit off more than I could chew,
But through it all, when there was doubt,
I ate it up and spit it out.
I faced it all and I stood tall
And did it my way.

I've loved, I've laughed and cried,
I've had my fill - my share of losing.
But now, as tears subside,
I find it all so amusing.

To think I did all that,
And may I say, not in a shy way -
Oh no. Oh no, not me.
I did it my way.

For what is a man? What has he got?
If not himself - Then he has naught.
To say the things he truly feels
And not the words of one who kneels.
The record shows I took the blows
And did it my way.

Yes, it was my way."

"The Field" by Lynne McTaggart

I'm in the middle listening to the audiobook version of The Field by Lynne McTaggert. It's really exciting. McTaggert talks about the Scientists and Paranormal Researchers who have been slowly finding some credible Scientific links between Our World and the Great Beyond. I've had a couple of "psychic" experiences in my life and in them I felt exactly what she describes. That we tool around on another plane of existence at the same time that we're toiling around in our earthsuits. This other plane hooks into the collective unconscious and informs most of what we earthlings do.

The whole idea started in 1913 when Albert Einstein & Otto Stern published an article on Zero Point Energy. From what I can gather this is the lowest possible energy a system can have. It's sort of thought of as a way of hooking into free, or almost free energy through the Zero Point Field. As a coincidence, Pluto was just moving into Cancer that year. As Cancer rules the 4th house and the bottom of the chart, rules beginnings and endings of life, I think it's interesting that Pluto moving into it would dredge up a way of hooking into an extremely low energy level existence.

Some Scientists, Psychiatrists and Doctors have been finding some interesting connections which bring up the idea that humans actually link into this field on a psychic level. For example, that our memory is actually not held within our brains, rather it's held on this field. I wish I could hook into the Field right now because I seem to remember that there is a Platonic Dialogue in which Socrates proves a point about Intelligence by coaxing an illiterate Servant boy into performing a complex Mathematics equation. I was trying to find it the other day in a bookstore and lost interest, I think I got distracted by an article on Britney Spears.

Last night I hit the spot in the recording where Lynne Taggart brings up the question of whether Time is linear or maybe....circular....hence the premature astroblab before I've actually finished the book. I don't understand science so anything I say concerning Science is very likely wrong.

Lynne Taggart is wonderful to listen to. She sounds just like Martha Stewart after Martha bakes hashish into her brownies and eats a couple. I strongly recommend this Audiobook. It might be an abridged version of the book which is a bit of a drag. I saw the book in a store a while ago and was interested in a mention of Solar flares and their influence on earth. I haven't made it to that point yet. Maybe I've got the wrong book.

Here's a list of some of the geniuses mentioned. Can't find a birth date for many. Fie!!! So far this certainly looks like a Mutable Sun Sign thing involving the Cancer/Capricorn Aries Point.

Run, Baby, Run! Paula Radcliffe

A Psychic once told me that although I'm an old soul I don't reincarnate very often because I don't enjoy myself very much in human form. Well, I have no idea whether reincarnation really exists, but, just to be prepared in advance I'm planning ahead. I've decided that in my next life, I will be very good at doing two things which I associate with being a person who's happy to exist in her human body. For one, I'm going to be able to sing and for Two, I'm going to be able to run fast. So when I see human/animal/vegetable who can do either of these things really well I rejoice in their talents. Today an English woman named Paula Radcliffe won the New York Marathon only months after giving birth to her daughter. Oi. Talk about feeling okay in your human body... I want to go back to bed just thinking about it. I wonder if she has nightmares at night about people who run in a penguin waddle like me.

Paula Radcliffe

b. Dec. 17, 1973 Davenham, Cheshire

Sun 26 Sagittarius; Moon either in Virgo or Libra; NN 29 Sagittarius

Wow. Pluto is transiting over her Sun-NN conjunction. Sagittarians are supposed to be sporty and athletic, you sprinkle a little Pluto on em and watch em go. Sagittarius rules the thighs and hips so Radcliffe really is taking advantage of her Astro-given body parts here. (I won't crack a "Thunder Thighs joke except here in the parentheses). She's won all but one of the long distance races she's been in and has broken many records. And she hates performance enhancing drugs. The fastest person is always the most ethical, funny how that happens, isn't it?

Radcliffe's Sun is just really amazing and also informative. It's in Sagittarius c. NN as already mentioned so it's no Wonder that she's athletic. But Sun is also in a Mystic Rectangle with Mars (Speed), Saturn (Endurance) and Uranus (Flight). In other words, she's got so much locomotion it's absolutely Mystical how she gets from Point A to Point B. Mars was the first thing I looked at, of course, as it rules Movement before anything else. Mars is in its own sign Aries, trining the Sun, opposing Uranus in Libra and sextiling Saturn in Cancer. The Saturn in Cancer was confounding to me as I don't normally associate it with speed and Saturn here is Retrograde and opposite the Sun. But Saturn does represent endurance, it is on the Aries Point (bringing her to the fore, literally in this case), and it sextiles (showing talent) Mars. This bestows the drive and ambition to pull in front and the ability to prevail. And it turns out that Sun, the Nodes and Saturn are all Parallel to each other so working together on the same plane as Parallels are thought to be almost as strong as conjunctions. Radcliffe has suffered some injuries but she always comes back. I think this is called the "Being Able to pick one's self up by one's Bootstraps" aspect. There are no planets in Earth Signs in this chart so Saturn simply doesn't have much of a reference point to work from in this chart.

The other 3 outer planets are in a small triangle together showing natural born talent. Apex Neptune in Sagittarius sextiles a trine of Venus c. Jupiter in Aquarius trine Pluto in Libra, maybe conjunct Moon in Libra. Radcliffe's progressed Venus went Retrograde when she was around 15 or 16 in 1989-90, just as she started running. It stationed Rx right on her natal Jupiter. Jupiter disposits her Sun-NN.

Polar Bears

Since they're in the news so much these days for being the "Canaries of the Global Warming Crisis" I thought I'd check to see if Polar Bears are born to any particular signs.

Polar Bears mate mostly in April. They dig dens in October and November in order to give birth. They purposely dig into the South Sides of Hills so that extra snow will cover them up.

The Polar Bears are born in November and December. This makes them mostly Sagittarians which seems really obvious I guess. They are Santa Claus' bears, after all. They even seem to live according to their Jupiter Returns because they live with their Mother for the first 3 years of their life and then they're on their own. This is the first Jupiter Square.

This also means that many will be born with the Jupiter-Pluto conjunction in the same sign as their Sun this year. You never really hear about the Crisis side of Jupiter and Pluto working together, but as Pluto has been passing through their sign their very existence has become increasingly imperiled. Scientists and Tourists will be up in the North Pole gawking at this years' Kids with complete desperation. That alone will certainly melt the ice. Well, and hopefully by then they'll be tucked away in their caves under massive amounts of freshly minted snow.

The Sacred and the *$&@%&#!

Happy Halloween! Time to be Scary again. Tear up the bed sheets. Wave your arms around. Steal some candy. Thing is you gotta cackle! Today's blog is about Nasty Words. Cussing. Swearing. Things that go bump in your mouth according to your Sign.

Before we start with today's bravado, let it be known that, according to all the generous psychologists out there who are diligently trying to mold us into conformity, Cussing and Swearing are good for Morale at work!!! (These guys get paid for this! Will wonders never cease?) Here's a link to an article called "What the Bleep" by Jennifer Waters on Yahoo Finance, Oct. 26, 2007 on how using profanities at work makes the little minutes just tick on by. http://finance.yahoo.com/career-work/article/103769/What-the-Bleep?mod=weekend.

I was going to write this Blog in celebration of Scorpio anyway. "Mercury" and "Pluto" rule Profanity according to the Rex Bills' book.

Over the years, now that my Wisdom has gone ancient, I've observed how many signs seem to cuss in their own way. They create their own "Style Swear Word Stigma". At least in my family this is so.

For starters there's my Scorpio Father. He was almost always silent but when he did swear he always seemed to use Scorpio Imagery. When he wasn't too pissed off, he would say "Judas Priest!" Just like a Scorpio to turn to use Traitor imagery first. Then everything after that was Genitilia Imagery. "Man, he really shot his wad!" "She's a Ball Basher." "Kick him in the Balls and he'll never come back." You know, Scorpio wisdom. It's right...to the...point.

Then there's my Virgo Brother. He speaks Spanish and likes to remind everyone that the Spaniards are the best Cussers because all their profanities are based on their diet, mostly Meats and Vegetables. I've never asked him for it but I'm sure I could get a nice, clean Virgonian list at any moment.

And there's the Pisces Cousins. Pisces like to be high and don't want to say anything that will bring anybody down. Besides they'd rather fart in public than swear just because they're so good with gas. Pisces always know how to dance around the subject so they may not say "Fuck" per se, but it is generally implied somewhere in their aura. They're not real communicative people and they feel really bad for anyone who is.

Then there was my Mother the Sagittarius. Society peaks out with the Sagittarian Expletive. For some reason, the Capricorns, next sign over, can only swear when they're grumpy, that's not cool. But the Sagittarians are Jolly Cussers. Anybody who has a Sagittarius Mother knows what I mean. Our childhoods were spent being led by the hand through stores while our mothers cussed out every salesperson they had dealings with. And, oddly, by the time we walked away the person was laughing and loving her and begging her to return. So Sagittarians get a lot of practice and start to develop their metaphors in order to really bring out the Art. 4 Letters are fine for certain occasions but the literary attempts are what it's really all about. Sometimes they're original, sometimes they take credit for others' originality, but they're always well-informed and up-to-date because they spend so much time competing with all the other Sagittarians while burning holes in their Bar Stools. Even when they're sober, they're great. They can mix the Concrete with the Abstract and the Sacred with the Profane. Think Mark Twain and Jon Stewart and you get the Genius of this sign. The more lovable a person is apparently, the better his cussing will be.

Then there was my Irish Grandmother, the Gemini. She was obviously the reason why my Sadge Mother was so well-educated in this regard. The Gemini's are so fucking god-damned observant, they immediately have to comment on all that is going wrong. Sometimes they lack the panache that the Sagittarians do, most of the time they are just really fun because nobody else would comment on that crap. My Grandmother was mostly into Social and Political Commentary. She'd bring in the Pope and the President at a heart beat, for example. There was that time that she, a loyal Republican, was listening to a speech on TV from the other room and started calling the guy an S.O.B. Finally she whipped the ladle out of the pot she was stirring and said "Who the Hell is that Idiot?" "Johnson!" Although she said nothing after that I found out that Gemini's can speak ((embarassment)) and ((silence)) aloud and as if they were swear words.

Tauruses are cool cucumbers. In my family we have only the Female variety. They pride themselves on being even tempered and kind. That's bull shit, of course. Nobody laughs harder at the Fucks and Shits that come out of the Gemini and Sagg mouths. My Aunt was constantly reminding us that we ought not speak badly of others in that way, but, man, her laugh lines were chiseled in pretty deep from a fairly early age.

My Step-Mother the Taurus is another story. Like most ruthless people, she would only say "poopy." She truly believes that she can avoid going to Hell by doing this. But God knows what's on your mind and her mind was nothing but "poopy." There's nothing worse than being a teenage girl trying to cook Thanksgiving dinner with the woman who's torn apart your family and, in order to impress you, is cackling uproariously about how most of the food reminds her of "nasties", especially with a limited vocabulary of only "poopy." She actually thought she could compete with my Sagittarius Mother on this one. I still gag while thinking about how she was flopping the Turkey neck around while my Father was watching football in the room next door.

Oh, then there's my Libra Step-Sister. Libra women don't swear, it's not gracious. And besides she, like my Step-Mother, thought she could avoid going to Hell. So our arguments were mostly her saying "You need to get the broom stick out of your .... you know what!" She couldn't even say that she had to go to the Bathroom because "Bathroom" is a nasty word. It was "Restroom." She wasn't going in there to pee, she was going in to rest. Now she works for Homeland Security. No wonder why nobody sent help to New Orleans. The place wasn't flooded with sewage -- those bodies weren't floating, they were resting.

And speaking of anal retention in Government: I used to work in a Law Library. Those EPA Documents would make Larry Flint blush if only he could understand them. 10 million ways to describe Shit in Latin derivatives and hyphenated words. Wastewater. Bio-solids. Fecal contamination. One day a Sagg librarian started giggling and giggling and said she was going to call up the Head of the Department of Waste Water Management just to talk dirty to him. I should have asked her for the list. Truth is, I can't remember any of the words that are longer than 4 letters.

Oh, and then there's my sign. The Sun in Cancers. That's right, I'm a Cancer. Fuck You if you don't like it. We're silly, goony and we laugh at ourselves and get hurt when other people laugh at us. We're extremely foul mouthed just because those are the easiest words to say. And having Capricorn on the other end of the axis usually means that we get caught. Think about George Bush swearing to Tony Blair and getting caught with the microphone on. Well, that's what you get for talking with your mouth full (literally and figuratively). I remember watching Johny Carson's last Tonight Show where Robin Williams, a Cancer, got chastised by Bette Midler for being a crotch grabber. He of the endless comebacks and innovations was completely struck dumb. He curled up like a bad little Cancer boy and didn't say anything for the rest of the night. And all that because Bette Midler of all people, the Queen of Raunch, was over-moralizing about his jokes. "Right in the Balls!" as my Scorpio Father would say.

Around the Neighborhood with Marie & Pierre Curie

Great people are not known for success in household matters so it makes sense that Marie Curie wasn't real attentive as a Mother. She had bigger Fish to fry. Well, turns out frying the fish wasn't all she did. She was tracking radiation all over the house. She had no idea what the stuff really was.

Her daughter, Eve Curie recently passed away. Eve was known for writing a biography of her Mother. Her Obituary described how she felt guilty that she had somehow been spared an early death by radiation poisoning the way the rest of her family had. Boy, that's a Unique Experience. One wonders if she had Aquarius on the IC or Uranus stuck therein. Both her Mother and Sister, Irene, had died from exposure and it is thought that Pierre Curie would have also suffered from poisoning had he not been killed in a traffic accident. I apologize. This blog will be silly but I grew up in a community with a lot of scientists and many were my friend's parents. I never had a sense that things would be alright in people's personal lives because of it. The rules were always different, the conversations were always about odd but interesting subjects, and the expectations were always really really high. So this is why when I read that Obituary I wondered, Wow, is there an indicator for a Mom who will accidentally radiate her kids? As a kid growing up around these people, I know that these are the things that children of great people have to wonder these things on a day to day basis.

I know there are many intelligent presentations of the Curies' charts out there. (I found this one for Marie written by Michael D. Robbins: http://www.makara.us/04mdr/01writing/03tg/bios/Curie.htm.) It includes a copy of Marie Curie's chart which is visually astonishing because Uranus is conjunct her Descendant and is apex to a small triangle, a Kite, a Thor's Hammer. It's by no accident that this quadruple Scorpio would work tirelessly with her Husband to isolate Uranium.

But, back to the Domestic Situation. Marie Curie worked all the time. Eve said that she almost didn't know her mother until she had to care for her while she was dying. The Curies worked out in a shed with no protection from Uranium. Marie and Eve's older Sister, Irene, who also became a Nobel Prize winning Chemist, used x-ray machines in the first World War without protection. The whole house probably glowed. Have you ever seen that Kitchen by the artist Liza Lou? It's completely covered in little sparkling seed beads. That's how I imagine Marie Curie's kitchen to look. That makes for some nasty gingerbread, let me tell ya.

Marie Curie

b. Nov. 7, 1867 10:36 Varsonne, Poland

Sun 15 Scorpio; Moon 17 Pisces; 13 Capricorn Rising; MC 18 Scorpio; NN 11 Virgo

Marie Curie was born 4 planets in Scorpio. Her Sun in Scorpio was opposite Pluto in Taurus. This opposition was conjunct her MC-IC axis with Pluto conjunct the 4th House cusp. That right there shows a toxic household environment somehow related to the career. But this isn't just anybody's house. This is Marie Curie's house. And so what? All career women have to let the household go. This Sun-Pluto opposition was involved in a Mystic Rectangle and a house configuration that includes the Uranus-Descendant. I talked about Uranus's importance in her chart up above. Marie Curie's house was the, you guessed it, Outer Limits. Both of her daughters shared her Sun-Pluto aspect. Irene had a Square between the two planets. Eve shared the opposition.

Irene was born on her Mother's Saturn Return. She was a Scientist who won the Nobel Prize along with her husband, just like her Mother. She died from Radiation poisoning like her Mother.

Eve Curie was born on her Mother's Nodal Return when her Mother was 37. Her Father was killed in a traffic accident 2 years after she was born. Her Sun-Pluto opposition squared her Nodal Axis.

Both Marie and Pierre Curie were strong Fixed Sign people. Their Daughters both were Mutable Sign Suns. I'm listing some of this now just because it interests me. This would be a very interesting family to read after having read Erin Sullivan's book on Family Dynamics.

Pierre Curie died on Apr. 19, 1906. I'm sure the time of his death is listed somewhere but I don't have it. The whole day Pluto was unaspected at 22 Gemini. That gives off a bit of an "uh oh" sensation but alone it means nothing. Thing is, it was conjunct Pierre's natal Mars at 14 Gemini which was also unaspect. Mars, during most of the day, was also unaspected (except for a semi-square to Uranus) at 24 Taurus. This is conjunct Pierre's 25 Taurus Sun squaring his Nodes. Somebody really needs to reel these damn scientists back into an astrology practice. Unaspected planets become much more potent because they have no strong relationship with the other planets and can't share the energy. Pluto rules Death. Nodes rule Fate. Mars rules the Head. Sun rules the life force. Mars and Uranus in difficult aspect rule accidents. Curie was run over by a horse carriage and suffered fatal injuries to his head (Mars).

The Golden Arches

The Architect of the McDonald's Golden Arches was Stanley Clark Meston of Fontana, California. Originally, he set an Arch on either side of the Restaurant that looped through the roof overhang. They were lined with blinking pink neon. Here's an article about Meston and the first McDonalds, I can't read it the type's too small but you can try: http://links.jstor.org/sici?sici=0037-9808(198603)45%3A1%3C60%3ATOOMGA%3E2.0.CO%3B2-2

Meston was born in 1910 in Oxnard, CA. I don't know what his sign was but there had better be some Golden Leo in there somewhere.

The first McDonald's was created by two brothers, Richard "Dick" J. McDonald and Maurice "Mack" McDonald. The First Restaurant was opened on May 15, 1940 in San Bernardino, CA and introduced the "Speedee Service System" of food prep and distribution. "Dick" simply called it "Fast Food." It doesn't fit astrologically that the First Fast Food Restaurant opened under the sign of Taurus, which is known for its slowness, but, whatever, c'est la vie. Ray Kroc did eventually buy the brothers out because they were slow to see the opportunity of expanding the Franchise out into a megalopolis. And he did incorporate the chain under the sign of Aries, a more appropriate sign.

Back to the brothers. Good old Irish Americans.

"Dick" was an Aquarius. Born Feb. 16, 1909. Manchester, NJ?

Aquarians are efficiency experts.

"Mack" was a Sagittarius. Born Nov. 26, 1902. Manchester, NH?.

Sagittarians are impatient.

From just looking at the Sun Signs, we can formidably deduce that "Mack" was probably "Dick's" Muse for creating a whole new way of getting his brother to calm down while working.
At any rate, both Sagittarians and Aquarians are Forward Thinkers, always looking for a better way of doing things. Rex Bills gives rulership of Franchises to (Uranus).

Problem could be that Food and Restaurants are ruled foremost by the sign of Cancer. You don't want your food to be Forward Thinking, that's called any number of foul digestive complaints. Sagittarius and Aquarius aspect Cancer through inconjunct (quincunx) aspects. These aspects are thought to cause Spiritual Irritation and Physical Health problems over Time due to stress of conditions that don't quite work well together. Virgo, the other sign that rules Restaurants as well as Nutrition squares Sagittarius and also inconjuncts Aquarius. One can see where Morgan Spurlock got his subject matter just by looking at the Sun Sign astrology.

The "Speedee Service System" appealed to all kinds of new Restaurant Chains and the Brothers began to franchise their own Chain. Ray Kroc found them in the late 40's. He was a Milkshake Salesman and a Libra born Oct. 5, 1902, Oak Park, Illinois. Libras will Partner with absolutely everything, Bird, Beast, Stone, Mountain, Golden Arches and Irish Brothers.

Ray Kroc's First McDonald's opened on April 15, 1955 in Des Plaines, Illinois. It was an Aries, the opposite sign of Libra. Ray Croc had big plans for his Franchise and bought the McDonald's brothers out in 1961. They were given 1 percent of all the proceeds from McDonald's burgers sold ever after and no doubt lived happily ever after as well.

Beethoven Killed By His Doctor?

Here's an article from the San Jose Mercury News discussing research containing evidence that Beethoven was slowly poisoned by his Doctor with a treatment that contained Lead. http://www.mercurynews.com/ci_6706233. Apparently Beethoven had such a difficult personality that most Doctors wouldn't treat him so he ended up with a Quack. A good lesson for us all. Be nice to yer docteur. The article studied chemical analyses of Beethoven's hair and found through growth patterns that big spikes of Lead coincided with the timing for the treatments he received.

Lead is ruled by Saturn and Saturn was transiting through Beethoven's 8th House of Death so I suppose you could leave the interpretation alone with just that information.

I believe that Capricorn/Saturn also rules the Hearing and Hearing Sensitivities and Losses. At the time of his death Beethoven's Solar Arc Saturn was conjunct his 12th house cusp, a major health house. Beethoven had 3 Planets in Capricorn in his 3d house. All 3 were receiving close conjunctions:

1. t. Neptune 17 Capricorn c. n. Pluto 17 Capricorn (both inconjunct Saturn-MC in Leo)
2. T. Uranus 28 Capricorn c. n. Venus 27 Capricorn
3. prog. Moon 5 Capricorn c. n. Jupiter 4 Capricorn (and opposite t. Saturn in H8 out of sign in Gemini)

I wanted to find the indicator that showed he was killed by his doctor. I think Scorpio Rising can only have a kindly Venusian type of treatment (Taurus on the Descendant) and good luck finding that for a Sagittarius who is in pain.

First indicator might be that Beethoven died shortly after having a Nodal Return in his 1st house. The Nodes were still passing through the 1st-7th houses of relationships with South Node at 16 Taurus were conjunct his Uranus in Taurus. As Uranus is part of the rare Grand Earth Trine of the 3 outer planets that happened the year of his birth this creates a Kite Pattern over the 1st/7th house nodes. Transiting Uranus was conjunct Venus, ruler of the sign it is placed in and also the Descendant.

The transiting Nodes were also squaring his natal Saturn-MC bringing in again the theme of Lead. It's interesting that Napoleon also had this Outer Planet Grand Square and also is thought to have been poisoned. Uranus shares this aspect with Neptune and Pluto, the two planets that rule poisoning and toxicity. Pluto rules Beethoven's chart and the sign of his North Node so is extra important in matters of health and physical body.

Ludwig von Beethoven

b. Dec. 16, 1770 3:40 am Bonn, Germany

d. Mar. 26, 1827

I'm also going to add some notes about Beethoven's Hearing Problem and Tinnitus. Coincidentally, I've found that Saturn was transiting through his 8th house also in 1796 when Beethoven's hearing began to fail. This house is ruled by Gemini/Mercury which rules the hearing. Mars is in that House, retrograde in Gemini, and very much out of bounds at 26 degrees 10' 54 N. Mars is also heavily afflicted as it opposes Moon, Sun and Mercury in Sagittarius and squares Neptune and has no easy aspects.

In 1796 I've found the following aspects which I think might help explain his problems:

1. Prog. Sun 21 Cap c. Prog. Venus RX 19 Cap. c. n. Pluto 17 Cap plus transiting South Node 17 Capricorn in 3d house.

2. transiting Pluto conjunct t. Jupiter in 4th House

3. Prog. Moon c. t. Neptune over Scorpio Ascendant

4. T. Saturn passing through 8th House over natal Mars Rx/Prog. Mars Rx.

5. Also in 1796 there was a long Mars Retrograde Transit over the Cusp between Capricorn and Sagittarius on Beethoven's 3d house cusp.

Up In the Air, Junior Birdmen...

Go ahead! Hold the ends of your thumbs and forefingers together in a circle and hold them upside down over your eyes to create goggles and sing that song... NASA just sent another School Marm up into space. Her chart is awesome for being both a Teacher and an Astronaut as she's a Double Sagittarius, sign of "Higher" Education. Well, if you've got to blast off into orbit around the earth in order to teach, then I guess I'd call that "Higher Education." Lol, I never cease to crack myself up.

Barbara Morgan

b. Nov. 28, 1951 1pm Fresno, CA (astrotheme)

Sun 6 Sagittarius; Moon 4 Sagittarius; ASC 18 Pisces; MC 23 Sagittarius; NN 6 Pisces

Barbara Morgan is not only a Double Sagittarius, Her Sun-Moon conjunction is in her 9th House, and ruler Jupiter is in her First House. That makes her the Uber Teacher, Uber Adventuress, plus a whole lot of fun to have on board.

Rex Bills gives Rulerships I wouldn't expect to Astronauts: Neptune and Pluto, Spacemen are straight ahead Plutonains. I would have expected Uranus. Anyway, Morgan's got Pisces Rising with North Node in Pisces in her 12th house so I guess Girl Astronauts might go the Neptunian route. And she's having a Nodal Return right now.

Transiting Uranus is conjunct her Ascendant. Her progressed Sun is in Aquarius conjunct Pallas Athene. Rex does give Uranus partial rulership along with Pluto to Space ships. But Space Guys 'n Gals he says are ruled by Pluto. Go figure.

And, hehehe, Barbara Morgan has no planets in Earth.

Blast-Off Time for Endeavor:

6:36pm ET August 8, 2007 Cape Canaveral

Take off went great as far as I know. It was delayed a day because the seals weren't working on the doors but I think it was revealed that some scuzz was preventing a perfect seal.

The astrolocality looks good for landing just as long as they don't set tha mutha on the West Coast where there's a Pluto line. That would make me nervous. Pluto was conjunct the South Node of the Challenger Flight with a Nod stringing out of the Ascendant. And Christa McAuliff's chart had Pluto square the Nodes. And the Discovery cracked up right before hitting its Pluto line. So kindly just pass over this thing, NASA, please.

Barbara Morgan was picked along with Christa McAuliff on July 19, 1985 to train for the Challenger flight. Christa was picked (Double Virgo in 5 have anything to do with it?). Barbara has been working in education for NASA ever since. She's finally got her wish (Uranus on the ASC) and her dream (Pisces) has come true.

It's interesting that Barry Bonds started in Professional Baseball right around the same time and managed to hit his record home run in about the same time. There seems to be some sort of 21-22 year cycle going on for these guys.

Bouncing Baby Girl Survives Great Odds

On Wednesday, in China, a baby girl was tossed out an 8-story window by her inebriated Father. Her mother left them 2 months ago and the Father, tweeked out on tranquilizers and Tsing-Tao, was arguing with his Mother-In-Law about not being able to take care of the baby. The M-I-L reportedly handed the baby to the Father who then tossed her out the window: July 11, 2007, 4:30 pm (Wednesday), Jiangqiao Town, Shanghai, China. The Father's name is Yu Dongrui; he's 26 years old and he's now in jail. (Have you ever read that Raymond Carver story about the divorcing couple fighting over who's going to take the baby?).

Miracle of miracles! The little girl survived with only a broken leg! Some tree branches broke her fall and she managed to land on some soft dirt in a flower bed. It's like a fairy tale.

Here's the story: http://www.shanghaidaily.com/sp/article/2007/200707/20070713/article_323227.htm. What I want to point out Astro-wise is that the baby is said to be 10-months old. This means that she was probably born last September perhaps around the same time as Evelyn Frayre and Anna Nicole Smith's daughter Dannie Lynn. I wrote about their charts here: http://outthecometsass.blogspot.com/2007/06/evelyn-frayre.html. The fact that the trees and flowers and dirt saved this little girl's life sure do indicate an uncanny ability to survive in the world. I truly hope I don't hear another tragic story about a baby born in September, 2006 but as they all seem to survive, I can appreciate when Miracles unfold.

I'm having trouble locating the exact town so probably am not pulling up a correct chart. Either way, the Ascendant for 4:30pm is maybe between 7 - 16 degrees Sagittarius.

I suppose if I had to choose a sign that indicates "Bounce" it would be Sagittarius, ruled by Jupiter. This Event chart shows Jupiter right on the Sagittarius Ascendant. Pluto is also in the 1st house in Sagittarius. Jupiter on the Ascendant is opposite the Moon (Baby) in Gemini on the Descendant. Both are squaring the North Node in Pisces. This sets up for the drugged out environment and hysterical reactions. Moon in Gemini on the 7th House cusp, a Dual Sign on the relationship angle containing the planet that rules homelife and babies. What bigger indicator for a Divorce situation, especially with "I did it my way" Jupiter opposing from the Ascendant?

The Sun is in Cancer (Family) in the 8th house (Shared Resources/Burdens as well as Murder) and this disposits back to the Moon on the 7th house cusp. The IC and MC are both on the Aries and Libra Aries Points with no planets in either of the parental houses. Obviously this story has made International headlines which explains the Aries Points. Cardinal Signs just want to start over, whatever the cost. (Of course, if I'm using the wrong coordinates for the chart none of this applies anyway.)

I'm not sure what symbolizes defenestration as it's a subject that doesn't come up often. Rex Bills gives rulerships of "Windows" to (Neptune, Gemini) and interestingly enough Neptune is conjunct the 3d house cusp opposite Saturn and Venus in Leo. I suppose the Venus in Leo in the 9th House simply shows a courageous little girl with bounce. There's that Sagittarius influence again.

Of course, there is the Saturn-Neptune opposition which finally made it's last exact conjunction last month. The obvious Saturn-Neptune symbolism is "Drunk Daddy" which is shown very literally here. This is an aspect that either brings out your inner Mozart or your inner Trailer Park.
