Earthquake on the Wrong Coast

On Tuesday a big earthquake, a 5.8, hit the East Coast. Yes, Virginia, that's you. Literally, it's you.

Wow, the biggest earthquake I've ever been in is the Loma Prieta earthquake and that was a 5.9. Would like to say that I'm jealous but I'm totally not. That was hell. It's also not a good testament for earthquake building standards and safety in California as we had a lot more damage than Virginia did. Many deaths, 50 or 60.

So weird. I'm busy living in terror because I'm being gang stalked by every immigrant who has a cell phone so I can't screw around with writing about the earthquake. The East Coast just does things differently. I mean, the Uranus-Pluto square is a no brainer. That's going on for a few more years so just put some springs on the soles of your feet and wear a helmet, wherever you are.

Back in my Summer Solstice 2011 prediction I wrote:

In the astrolocality chart, the Uranus DESC and Pluto IC lines run through the East Coast, practically right smack dab on New York and Montreal. Isn't all the Uranus/Pluto energy supposed to center on California? The Mars MC line runs through Phoenix. It seems that about a quarter of Arizona has already burned down this past spring so don't know what that could entail.

There was also an earthquake, about 5.3, in Colorado so wonder if it was on that Mars line. Arizona is pretty close to Colorado, isn't it?

Biggest earthquake on record to hit Virginia. Looks like Sun-Neptune contacts with Mercury Rx could be among indicators, but as I said I'm not looking at this closely. This chart is really intense.:

So, have you ever been in that really obnoxious spot where a Saturnian person is telling you that your life is fucked up and you're being a pain in the ass? And you get all defensive and feel bad that you have a problem. And then afterwards you think about the Capricorn/Saturn person's life and realize that the Capricorn is more fucked up than you are and is basically just taking the blame out on you? Well, here we go. This rides lasts through the end of the year, just in time for the Capricorn's next birthday.

I've been saying that the Saturn-Uranus-Pluto t-square would bring issues regarding infrastructure. Turns out everything's falling apart. Well, not everything. And things fall apart no matter what. They just seem to really stand out when you've been expecting it to happen for the last 2 years or so.

Kind of interesting how the things that are falling apart are connected with things that are creating the most pollution on earth. That old Butter Commercial saying "You can't fool Mother Nature" keeps popping into my head these days. If any planet reminds me of that saying it would probably be Pluto. Pluto is so deeply connected with the deep underworkings of nature. Capricorn doesn't hurt, of course, being an Earth Sign, and also having the difficult pictogram of a Goat who tries to climb to the very peak of earth's mountains but is stuck with a fish's tail which hooks him into the deepest parts of the waters. That's the Capricorn guilt thing. The higher you go the farther you have to fall unless you give everything away. Other people aren't concerned with these problems, they don't get caught, but the Capricorns get busted if they don't follow the script.

So, there are so many infrastructure collapses lately this is just really dazzling. I keep saying that we really need to advance into the Jetson's age. Just leave the infrastructure behind and let everyone levitate. Of course, I have no idea how we're going to do that, but might as well dream. Right? The asphalt, the railroads, the exhaust engines. Good bye. Wouldn't it be nice?

Funny how with Pluto conjunct NN in Capricorn all the spillage and sewage is just fighting back at us. We've lost control of how we handle our toxics and wastes. Once Saturn and Jupiter move on there will just be this long Uranus-Pluto square passing back and forth. I doubt that's good for the arts but it sure will provide incentive for innovation and design. And Jupiter and Saturn will be doing a Grand Triny thing so there will be some sort of social awareness of sorts. As I'm not a real advocate for mass mentality and peer pressure situations I don't know how that will turn out. Sort of sterile innovation and design but some people like that. And it might actually be clean if we keep the Virgos employed by the droves to do a perfect job (so the Virgos brag, at least)

The International Space Station is having some emergency problems. Where's Will Robinson's robot right about now? One of their air conditioning units blew a fuse late SAturday. Love how these news reports don't mention the actual date so you have to fumble back and forth with a calendar and sort of guess. I suppose NASA will eventually have an actual time for the circuit breaker trip (so Mars-Saturn-Uranus). Anyway, remember the connections between Space stuff and Pluto-Nodes. Learning Curve on the Ecliptic wrote a great piece about the Challenger Disaster. And that one Astronaut early on saw aliens on one space flight. They'll be ok but they're having a stressful week. There are articles on the Internet discussing how the Space Shuttle blast offs and air conditioning are major polluters of the ozone.

Pisces was Rising and the Jupiter-Uranus conjunction in Aries was in the first house. Suppose that conjunction and the Pisces Rising could indicate Rubber. This was opposing the Mars-Saturn conjunction in H7 and squaring Pluto-NN up in the 10th. So the big t-square was on the angles. Chart ruler Neptune was in the 12th House and was stand out as a singleton in Air. But the big singleton was the Sun 29 Cancer in H5. The Sun was unaspected by major aspect to other planets in both house placement (succedent) and element (Water). It was in a Grand Trine with the Moon 3 Sagittarius and the Jupiter-Uranus conjunction.

In Iowa much greater damage was done at Lake Delhi. This was caused by 10" of rain and a breaching of the dam walls. Kind of interesting that the chart shows an absence of planets in Water signs. The Dam was built 1922-29 so it was going through a Uranus Return.

This chart is sort of an upside down version of the Tempe Arizona Chart with Virgo Rising and with the Mars-Saturn conjunction on the Ascendant. Jupiter-Uranus is in the 7th and is squaring Pluto-NN and even Moon in Capricorn down in the 4th House (Moon is widely past conjunction with Pluto but I'm not sure if this is the actual time of the break).

Interesting that there was a witness who saw this whole thing from 150 feet away. His name is Fred DeShane (52 years old?).



So here we go. China said that it had contained its oil spill by July 26 but China is a Libra and paints a rosy picture so now we've got some new bulletins saying that they're having problems too. So, the U.S. and China are both Cardinal Sun Signs and now we get to see what happens to Cardinal Sun Signs during a Pluto transit (no one's going to kiss these ough-ie's).

The Pluto-NN conjunction is right on the Ascendant.

The Sun is one degree away from the spot where the Moon was (23 Cancer) during the Deepwater Horizon Spill.

Don't know if this is significant but this points to the two Solar Eclipses for this year. The Jan. 15 Solar Eclipse (Annular) had a conjunction of Sun-Moon at 26 Cancer. The July 11 Solar Eclipse (Total) had a Sun-Moon Eclipse at 20 Cancer.

Mercury for the China Oil Spill (called the Xingang Port Oil Spill) is also conjunct within a few degrees the spot where Mars was in Leo during the Deepwater Horizon (Gulf) Oil Spill.

I can't get the image of the employees covered in tar out of my head. It's heroic but I wish it hadn't happened.

Of course, the Saturn-Uranus/Jupiter-Pluto t-square is going to be involved here. This shows breakdowns in infrastructure. Uranus 1 Aries is conjunct Jupiter 4 Aries. Interesting how it doesn't seem to matter that their exit from Pisces, which rules Oil and Oceans, doesn't seem to make much difference.

Perhaps a big part of these Oil Spills is the Pluto-NN conjunction in Capricorn (peak of civilization, beginnings of the Fall, structures). In the Xingang Port Oil Spill Pluto is conjunct the NN and they are hovering right over the Ascendant. Pluto rules both of the recent Solar Return Charts that I mentioned.

Also, Pisces, sign which rules Oil and Gas is enclosed in Houses 2 and 8 in this chart. Neptune is still in Aquarius (manmade inventions) but it is in conjunction with Chiron (things man can not help) on the first degree of Pisces. Lilith is also there. Don't know how to interpret that other than to say that Lilith is always "there." Kind of interesting to note Venus's connection in both Deepwater Horizon Chart and Xingang Port Oil Spill chart. Venus is squaring Lilith-Neptune-Chiron in the Gulf Oil Spill. And she's opposing that same combination in the Chinese Chart.

The Moon in this chart is conjunct Saturn the chart ruler and Mars. They are in the 8th House. Saturn is on the same degree spot (30 Virgo) in both charts, but he's Rx in the first chart.

2 Mass Shootings Last Week

Last week there were two mass shootings within two days. The first one, on Thursday, a Military Psychiatrist specializing in treatment of PTSD victims of the Iraq and Afghanistan Wars gunned down a bunch of his comrades at Fort Hood in Texas. The story is complicated by the fact that the shooter was of Arab descent and has been showing signs of loyalties to his heritage rather than his nation. The military and the media is questioning whether or not this was a terrorist attack. Nobody is questioning whether or not modern psychiatrists know what the hell they are doing. Shouldn't they have been the first to question this guy's sympathies with suicide bombers?

My first thought after hearing of the shooting was that the psychiatrist had heard so many PTSD stories that he just lost his mind, kind reminded me of that old episode of Night Gallery episode about the dying Sineater. The Sineater's profession was to sit by the corpse of people who paid him to eat a meal. By doing this he absorbed the sins they had committed during their lifetimes and so releasing their souls to go on to Heaven. Complicated part of the story is that the Sineater is about to die and he wants his Son to take over his profession. The Son, of course, must not only take over his father's awful profession but also must eat all the sins that his Father now contains within his soul. And that's a whole boat load of sins. The last scene is a gory close up of the Son's face as he gorges himself with food and panic. (Wonder if that's when my anorexia started).

Anyway, that's what the story first reminded me of. I completely doubted that the Army Shrink would be a terrorist. Then I looked at his chart. He doesn't have an obvious chart for a mass shooter except that I would expect a Virgo Sun/Scorpio Moon to be a really good aim with a rifle. Well, there's also a Mars-South Node conjunction.

The Shooter/Shrink, Major Hasan, is just past his Pluto square. That can be a difficult passage in a person's life regarding all things Pluto, things concerning one's feelings of power and impotence. Hasan's has been especially difficult as transiting Saturn has been passing over his natal Pluto at the same time while Uranus opposes this past year. Uranus, Pluto, and Saturn working together will certainly bring out a vulnerability to PTSD. Saturn (fear of failure, bitterness) and Pluto (resentment, revenge) can bring depression and Uranus can bring shock, weird and erratic behavior. The orb is considered kind of wide, about 5 or 6 degrees. But, in my opinion, Pluto transits have a long aftereffect, especially when they've been accompanied by other heavy transits and progressions.

Hasan's progressed Mars has been hanging out on top of his natal Pluto and transiting Saturn. That can certainly inflame feelings of rage that seem to come from out of nowhere.

After looking at the shooter's chart I immediately felt that he had not been acting alone. Maybe it's just difficult for me to understand why someone with Middle Eastern heritage would take a job like this in the first place.

Something interesting is that Hasan has a natal Venus-Jupiter conjunction, just like James Arthur Ray, the guy who recently led 3 people to their deaths in a Sweat Lodge in Sedona. (I wrote about this in my blog entry, 1957 problems). Hasan's natal Venus is at the end of Libra conjunct Jupiter in Scorpio. Not only was he going through his Venus Return during the shooting but Venus is squaring transiting Nodal axis. Not the usual transit for a shooting but it stands out.
Hasan's Progressed Venus has been passing through the sign of Scorpio for all of his life and it is now in conjunction with his Neptune at the end of Scorpio. I think it might be a notable connection that the Juipter-Chiron-Neptune conjunction was conjunct the Ascendant at the time of the shooting. At some point Venus has passed over his natal Moon in Scorpio.

I definitely am thinking that this is a frustrated guy thing especially with the Virgo Sun and Middle Age thing. Plus, he's probably been on meds (p.Venus on Neptune) and those things have a repeated history of creating shoot-em-ups. There's this weird conundrum is that the psychiatric profession urges people with traumatic disorders to "get help." And then the truth is they don't have treatments for the trauma.

I wonder if the military or the psychiatric profession is going to do anything to make amends to his patients. In addition to the victims who were slaughtered last Thursday, these people have had insult added to injury.

Hasan started working in psychiatry in 2001 and his mid-Virgo degree Sun would have been squared by the Saturn-Pluto opposition that centered on the Twin Towers attacks. (I sort of remember Michael Lutin pointing out that tense Saturn-Pluto contacts are very often related to the Middle East conflicts). What bad timing for a guy of Arab descent to be entering the Military. That's a bummer job, even for a Virgo Sun/Scorpio Moon workaholic.

The second shooter was a frustrated mentally ill guy whose life has been in free fall. He went to an old workplace and started shooting. He is born only a year apart from Hasan. It's interesting to me that both men were born within a year of each other and in the same Month. Both share a Pisces North Node and a Virgo South Node. They both committed their crimes at their workplaces (Virgo). And they will both probably be considered victims (Pisces) in the end through their mental illness. Pisces also rules drugs so it sure would be interesting to know if pharmaceuticals were somehow to blame. It definitely looks like the Saturn-Uranus-Pluto t-square transit is really hurting these guys (and their victims and their victims' families and friends and coworkers).

Rodriguez' chart is classic for a shooter. Sun conjunct Uranus and Jupiter squaring Mars.

Last Thursday and Friday it's interesting to notice that the Moon was Out-of-Bounds and moving very fast. Plus it was passing over the Gemini-Cancer cusp which is an Aries Point and opposing Pluto and squaring Saturn. That's one busy Moon.

In addition, the Sun was conjunct Mercury in Scorpio and squaring Mars in Leo. Scorpio as a sign is related to all taboo behaviors, murder included. This square was vaguely angular over the Descendant and Midheaven cusps for both shootings.

It's also interesting that the attacks occurred while the Jupiter-Chiron-Neptune conjunction was in the 1st house of both event charts. In Hasan's case this reads out in literal terms as Religion-Wounded Healer-the Unexplained/Terrorism/BadReactionstoPsychMeds.

In the case of Jason Rodriquez' attack, Capricorn was rising and this conjunction was not a prominently placed but still angular in the 1st house. Mars was on the Descendant.

Pittsburg Gym Shooter

We're in a new era of total fitness I guess. The Go for the Burn generation really is burning up. This last week-end a guy named George went into a gym and started pelting an aerobics class full of women with bullets. He murdered 3 and thankfully he managed to kill him self. If the afterlife exists they're all stuck with each other. The idea of that just makes me shudder.

Sodini's motive for the shooting is perhaps thought to have been to achieve ever-lasting internet fame through a blog that he wrote. He hadn't had sex since the 80s, couldn't get a date, and spent a lot of time admiring himself in the mirror and not understanding why women weren't falling all over themselves for his attention. So he daintily wrote about his frustrations in his blog. I read a couple of sentences and got bored.

Sorry, George. My blog sucks too.

I thought I'd look at Sodini's chart to understand the prototype for a classic bad date chart so that's why I'm giving it attention. Also it's a classic for seeing how Eclipses can drive a person loco. Pluto's transit would have to be bad. And Mars. And Uranus. And Saturn.

With Sun and Moon in Air Sign, Sodini would perhaps not have been a real sensual guy but he also would have been extroverted. This isn't a loner combination and it is the basic brickwork that sets up the rest of his chart. (This is such a great chart for a creative person. Sordini should have gone into graphic design or fashion design.)

George probably liked to talk a lot to his love interests, Mercury, planet of communication, is also in an Air Sign, Libra. Libra, as ruler of marriage and one-on-one relationships, will either show an extra interest in others, or it can get stucking looking at itself in the mirror, through its vain side which can come out when frustrated. Either way, Libra yearns for relationship as its main ego expression. And as an early Libra Sun, Sodini's Sun was under extra tension from Pluto's transiting square to his Sun. Pluto's cravings make Libra's yearnings look like sandplay. And it sort of looks like Sordini's love life went blank right around the time that his progressed Sun moved into the sign of Scorpio way back when. Pluto/Scorpio rules Sexuality but it also rules Abstinence. This double whammy Scorpio aspect would have been difficult for anyone.

So, there are other elements in George's chart that shows that he would have had other needs that perhaps he couldn't naturally express through all this Sun-Moon Air as well.

For one, his Sun is apex of a t-square to an opposition of Mars in Cancer to Saturn in Capricorn. I seem to keep repeating this that although a Sun-Mars square doesnt' necessarily indicate a shooter, it seems to come up a lot in these shooting charts. I've talked a lot about hard Mars-Saturn aspects, about how difficult they can be for self-expression, like trying to jump a brick wall or trying to drive witht he brakes on. Mars rules a Man's sexual drive and Saturn sort of puts a damper on that energy. A Scorpio Sun native might enjoy the Challenge presented by this t-square aspect. A romantic, gentle Sun in Libra might prefer methods that flow a bit more easily and get really frustrated. Mars in Cancer is a very difficult aspect as it can show a volatility and infantile expression of feeling. Baby doesn't always get what Baby wants and then Baby explodes.

Pluto is doing one more nasty in this chart. Pluto here is in a wide conjunction with the North Node (Destiny) in Virgo. Virgo is perfectionist. Pluto rules Death, Murder, Fame, Deep Desire. There will be a need perhaps for crises to happen so that the individual can feel that his life is unfolding on a big enough and deep enough level of existence. I sort of suspect that the real motive for George was to not have to die alone as an ugly man. Instead he is caught in eternity with the 3 gorgeous women he died with -- no matter the means with which he had to bring this about, ah-hem.

To add to this Sodini has Venus in Scorpio conjunct Neptune in Scorpio. In a man's chart Venus is one of the indicators along with the moon of the types of women he's attracted to. In this case he would have been attracted to women who are probably not very intellectual or verbal. He probably also had an unrealistic overly idealized version of women and romantic relationships in general. In conjunction with Neptune there is a feeling of always being the Martyr, always giving and never receiving, or perhaps of being attracted to unobtainable women. This combination is trining natal Mars in Cancer so George may have found his ideal early on in life and simply couldn't match it. Perhaps a Miss Havisham complex? He may also have had some bad luck in dating women who were addicts.

Also, when George went into the gym and wasted a bunch of lives on Sunday, he was under the influence of the set of 3 Eclipses that happened this Summer. The last one was yesterday which perhaps hit his natal Moon in Aquarius. T.Venus was in conjunction with his natal Mars which set off his angry and controlling Sun-Mars-Saturn t-square. T.Mercury was conjunct his natal Pluto in Virgo distorting his thinking process, ideal for leaving a written blog which would give him his 15 minutes of fame in the world, after death.

Natally, Sodini had a trine of Jupiter in Sagittarus trine Uranus 5 Leo which shows that he was hooked into a feeling of sportsmanship and good physicality that is typical of his generation. So I suppose it makes sense that he "chose" to die with the ladies who were in their prime and looking good. This trine was under hard opposition from the Jupiter-Chiron-Neptune conjunction in Aquarius which was opposing his natal Uranus. The Moon was in Aquarius on the day of the murders. The Moon on this date was in Aquarius. This means that Sodini was having a monthly Lunar Return, obviously feeling extra emotional (Moon) stress from the build up to yesterday's Eclipse. In simple terms that means that this was a difficult Full Moon for George.

George really wanted to get a Date badly.

In George's Progressed Chart his P.Sun is in a square aspect to p.Uranus at 26-27 degrees Scorpio. This is a stressful aspect which could make an individual act in a way which is shocking. His inner planets have never gone through any Retrogrades. I sort of wonder if a difficult chart like this wouldn't benefit from such an astrological event as Progressions sort of scramble up the energy that they are hitting. Maybe adds a few problems to the personality but slows down the arrogance a bit.

I'm a little shaky on the time of the shooting. Remember the days when the News gave Who, What, When, Where? How? No matter, I'd screw it all up with typos anyway.

This puts the approaching Full Moon pretty much right over the Ascendant/Descendant Axis. Moon/NN rules Women. It is also Sordini's natal Moon Sign.

The Sun is in the 7th House of, get this, partners. Sordini's natal Sun is in the 8th House of Murder/Motives. Saturn (Bitterness) in the event chart is conjunct the 8th House cusp along with Sordini's North Node. Uranus is widely opposing this from the H2 cusp.

The Venus/Pluto opposition spans the H5-H11 axis. (Romance, Sports, Groups).

Mars is squaring Saturn from H4. This square is relating to the ASC/Moon through a Thor's Hammer figure.

Johannes Mehserle, BART Police Shooter

Johannes Mehserle is the ex-Oakland BART Train police officer who killed a hand cuffed man in the back on New Year's Day. I wrote about the incident a few days ago. Mehserle has been charged with Murder and has surrendered to Oakland Police.

Can't vouch for its accuracy, but Mahalo.com and a SFGate.com article have listed a birth date for Mehserle. The chart is really incredible from an Astrological point of view. According to that website and the article which is available at this link:

Sun 16 Capricorn; Moon most likely Capricorn; NN 11 Leo

If this is correct, Mehserle was 3 degrees away from his Solar Return. And the Solar Return would involve a conjunction of the Sun to Mars and Pluto. According to the SFGate article, the shooting happened, Mehserle's wife gave birth to a Son and Mehserle had a Birthday. Wow. Mars can indicate violence, but it can also indicate having a Son.

If this birth date is correct, Mehserle is a Double Capricorn. On bad days this can indicate an overbearing streak and authoritarian attitude. On the other end of the Capricorn spectrum, this can indicate a heavy Karmic side involving intense lessons concerning guilt and shame, difficult lessons. Capricorns tend to have to play by the rules because they often can't get away much. The Leo North Node could repeat the Bossiness theme and Mars conjunct South Node could further emphasize this along with an impulsive streak that acts before it thinks.

Chiron squares the Nodes and Mars. This indicates some kind of wounding wound up in one's destiny with fighting and aggression. The Mars energy and the Saturn energy in this chart seem to have found a common ground in the police profession but in this case they are bringing out each other's bad side.

Mehserle's chart has two conjunctions which are exact to the degree: Venus-Neptune in Sagittarius and Jupiter-Saturn in Libra. These are pretty friendly aspects overall. The Venus-Neptune could get carried away especially in Sagittarius. Mehserle may have had a little bit of a hang over from too much partying the night before. The (natal) Jupiter-Saturn conjunction is conjunct the 12th house cusp to the degree of the event chart (Placidus). Jupiter-Saturn represents Society on a Social Level and its placement in Libra, sign of Diplomacy and Peace Making, is pretty bizarre. 12th House, though, represents Self-Undoing, Institutions like Jail and Martyrdom so perhaps this particular event seems to have brought out a streak of this. Mehserle's refusal to speak infuriated the public which has evolved into rioting on at least two occasions. 12th House often simply can't explain its actions.

Mehserle is caught in a lot of Cyclic Return activity. He is probably just past his 2dary Progressed Lunar Return and is heading in to his Saturn Return. This is significant since both his Sun and Moon disposit to Saturn. He is also going through his Nodal Opposition, a time of extreme confusion and having one's world turned upside down. If this is a true birth date this chart is really amazing because the Nodal Axis for the event was crossing the IC/MC axis which represents opposition between the Public and Authority. Interesting that these points are represented by the Moon and Saturn in one's chart as well. And the chart shows someone with strong Saturn-Moon contacts.

If Mehserle were born early in the day his Moon would have been getting hit by the Sun-Mars-Pluto transiting conjunction on the Aries Point. That's a highly emotional aspect. Bob Marks, who has done extensive research on the astrology of murderers, has pointed out the significance of Mars-Moon combination in violence. (www.bobmarksastrologer.com) He has also found how common Capricorn Moon is in murderers (which isn't the best news for those of us who have the natal aspect ourselves.)

I've listened to Malcolm Gladwell's book (either Tipping Point or Blink, can't remember) where Gladwell discusses research that has examined a sort of Mars-Moon-Pluto hormone effect in police officers which can lead to brutality. There's a chemical reaction that can happen which causes them to go into some sort of brutality mode if not checked. Astrology sure would have been useful to the police department in this case because Mehserle was in line to completely lose it around these dates.

Also interesting is the mutual Venus-Neptune conjunctions between the natal chart and the event chart. The conjunction in the natal chart is in Sagittarius and is in Aquarius in the event chart in the 4th house. Venus in the event chart rules the 7th House so I associated it with the Victim, Oscar Grant, but it certainly looks like the killer is indicated as well. These aren't planets I would associate with committing police brutality unless it's through some sort of gas or inaudible, invisible vibe. What's even more interesting is the fact that they both square the Uranus placement of the other. Mehserle's natal Venus-Neptune is apex to a t-square of the Saturn-Uranus opposition. One possible explanation could be the amount of video filming that was done at the event and the Internet "conviction" by the public.

The natal chart shows an unaspected Uranus in Scorpio indicating that for Mehserle, impulse and shock run deep and can bring on crises. Uranus is in a sign for 7 years so this is a generational planet showing general social consciousness. in this chart the Uranus energy can't flow with the rest of the planets of the chart so sudden crises could tend to ball up for this guy (if this is his chart). Progressed Mars is now squaring this Uranus which heightens the volatility and impulsiveness for Mehserle over the next few years. His nervous system will be under assault something which a double Capricorn already would struggle with due to deep perceptual abilities and difficult self-expression. Hopefully, he is not living with the rest of the prisoners in the jail.

By some sort of coincidence I was reminded here of the Stanford Prison Experiment which I studied on this blog a while back. This case for me seems to be about uncontrollable rage and police brutality rather than racism and this is what the Stanford experiment was about. A psychologist at Stanford University hired ordinary men to conduct a study on behaviors that occurred within a prison environment. Half were assigned roles as prisoners and half were assigned roles as prison guards and they all knew they were play acting their roles. Within a day the prisoners were rioting. The experiment, originally planned to last 14 days, was ended after 6 because the prison guards abused their authoritarian roles and became abusive.

I compared the charts between the New Year's incident and didn't find any significant similarities at first. But, I did find similarities between Mehserle's supposed birth chart and the Stanford experiment transits. The Leo-Aquarius nodal axis shows up in his natal chart and the Stanford Prison Experiment which took place between Aug. 14 and Aug. 20, 1971.

The NN for the Stanford Prison Experiment was at 15 Aquarius conjunct Mars 17 Aquarius Rx. This Nodal Axis is on the IC/MC of The BART Station shooting with NN at 10 Aquarius.
And Mehserle's Nodal Axis was on top of this. And he was going through his Nodal Opposition.

To add fuel to the fire, so to speak, Mehserle's natal Mars is at 5 Aquarius conjunct his South Node is at 11 Aquarius (NN at 11 Leo) which adds the violent streak.

(The Sun was conjunct Venus in the Stanford Prison Experiment and this was passing over the South Node at the time of the Stanford Prison Experiment.)

I talked about Mehserle's "alleged" (might as well use that word) volatile Uranus in Scorpio at 29 degrees. In alignment with that point, there was a huge transit aspect during The Stanford Prison experiment with Jupiter 30 Capricorn conjunct Neptune 1 Sagittarius and opposing Saturn at 6 Gemini. The Moon was in Taurus and passing through Gemini during the beginning days of the experiment so was setting off those points.

(If the Stanford Prison Experiment had been conducted during a Jupiter-Neptune trine maybe the prisoners would have gotten along.)

At any rate, going even further, way too far probably, down the line, we can look at the publication date for The Lord of the Flies. This book deals with the same type of brutality. It was published in 1954 while the NN was in Capricorn. This means that it was probably being written 1-2 years before while the NN was in Aquarius. Good time to observe the behaviors of people abusing authority in mass group settings, I guess.

In conclusion, all I can say is, boy, the Police really need to pay attention to Mars transits.

Women Attacking Their Attackers in the YooHoo

Two awesome twin stories about women thwarting attacks by men by grabbing them .... where it counts. Both stories are from yesterday, Tuesday Dec. 30, 2008. The coincidence seems to good. There must be something to glean from the astrology.

Both attacks occurred on the West Coast between Northern California and Oregon so the area must be signficant in some way. Right now most of the planets are in the signs of Capricorn and Aquarius. The biggee right now is Pluto on the Aries Point conjunct Mars. Wanna ... play ball? The Sun is at 10 degrees Capricorn, Mars is at 3 degrees and Pluto is at 2 degrees Capricorn. Mars and Pluto together will indicate violence and attacks. Pluto is the higher octave of Mars and both planets represent willfulness. Pluto rules the genitals, tee hee. What's interesting is that there are two other connections between lower and higher octave planets. A conjunction of Mercury to Jupiter at the end of Capricorn. There's also a conjunction of Venus 26 degrees to Neptune 23 degrees Aquarius that's conjunct with Chiron 19 Aquarius. Astrologers love to underestimate Neptune which is annoying but this is a good example.

Two things really stand out in these charts. As I've already said, there's three innies hanging with three outies that represent the same energy in a higher octave. Mars represents the Male energy and Venus is the female energy. And Mercury-Jupiter is the capacity to think straight and scream bloody murder whilst under duress. The influence of the Mars and Venus stelliums is amplified because they are sort of Island aspects. They don't share major aspects with other planets. They do aspect each other with a lot of minor aspects (which would be a good exercise to study later on sometime). The Mercury-Jupiter conjunction is in a trine with Saturn in Virgo.

All these planets disposit to the Saturn-Uranus opposition. Don't know what time the attacks were, news reports only say "Morning." During much of the morning the Saturn - Uranus opposition was crossing over the 1st and 7th Houses. These, of course, are the houses that represent Attacker and Victim. Neither Saturn nor Uranus does well in the roles of Victim so it's really interesting how both stories show the victims turning the tables on the attackers. Uranus rules the 1st house and disposits to Neptune (which is possibly conjunct the Ascendant). The Sun rules the 7th House and is just past the Mars-Pluto conjunction (rage). Perhaps the men were reacting to something that they suppressed from a couple of days before when the aspect was exact. If Mars-Pluto tries to suppress an energy it will blow up eventually, ask me how I know.

At 10:00 am Aquarius was rising in both spots and the Venus-Neptune-Chiron conjunction was just passing over the Ascendant. Step aside Daddy, Mamma's in charge. There were reinforcement aspects on the 1st House in this chart. Ruler Uranus was placed in the 1st House and was opposing Saturn in the 7th. Also, Pisces was completely intercepted in the 1st House so it would be significant if its ruler, Neptune really was passing over the Ascendant at the time of the attacks. And, to repeat, it is conjunct Venus, symbol for women.

Troutdale, Oregon. This is such a cool story, well, not for the poor woman. An 88 year old woman was attacked in her home by a naked man who entered through the door. He grabbed her and shoved her face in a chair and she reached around and grabbed and squeezed. The Man, get this, named Michael Dick, ran off whining. He was caught. His age is given at 46. Berkeley, California. A woman shopping at the Whole Foods was grabbed in the parking lot by a man.He punched her in the face. He aimed his gun at her and she grabbed his hand and tried to aim the gun down shoot off his yoohoo. When he kept trying to carjack her Van, she grabbed some scissors and started stabbing him in the face and throat. Then he ran off and tried to steal another car. Panda Baby Boom in China

Four Mommie Pandas at the Chengdu Panda Breeding Research Center gave birth this week-end to four Tiny Baby Panda Bears, So Cute. I've got my face all puckered up into Cutsey Cutsey Coo Face. Yahoo gave their Birth Times so how can I resist looking at the charts?.

This means that all the Newborns have an Earth Grand Trine between Jupiter in Capricorn, Mars in Virgo and Moon in Taurus. While the Moon stays in Taurus for all of their births, Mercury changes signs from Cancer to Leo. It is conjunct the Leo Sun the whole time and is unaspected by Ptolomaic aspect to other planets for most of the charts. Venus, of course, is conjunct the South Node in Leo opposing Neptune-Chiron-North Node in Aquarius. These babies will pull out all the stops on the Charm Factor.

I haven't looked too closely but there are some amazing comparisons between these Pandas' births and the Earthquake that happened in China on May 12, 2008. At least one of the Mothers was evacuated from the Panda Center which was very close to the Epicenter.

• There was a mutual reception between Venus and the Moon on these dates. Since the Moon shifts quickly most of the aspects aren't exact, but still I think it's interesting. Venus was at 15 Taurus and the Moon was in Leo. Degree, 24 Degrees?

• The Sun was also at 22 Taurus so there really is a strong connection here between the Earthquake Sun and the Babies' Moon.

• Even Mars is connected. It is opposing Uranus in the baby Panda's charts and the two planets were trining in the Earthquake Chart. Mars and Uranus are definitely connected with earthquakes. Also, Mars was at 1 Leo in the Earthquake Chart. This is right where the unaspected Sun-Mercury conjunction is for the Pandas.

All these babies are Leos born during a Taurus Moon while a Grand Trine was formed between Mars-Jupiter-Moon. That means, obviously, that they're very lovable and playful. With Leo Sun and Taurus Moon they are very generous and kind little souls, though, so that helps too. But they will be Fixed in their ways and stubborn at times.

First there was a set of girl twins who were born to a Mommy whose name translates to "Magic Luck." The first was born at 5:24pm and has Sagittarius Rising with Pluto conjunct the Ascendant. She's got other Scorpio aspects. I think this girl is a people pleaser. She will have very good taste. Her little Sister will be more serious but very wise. She was born at 6:16 pm and has Capricorn Rising, but with Jupiter in the first house which will keep up her weight (sometimes Capricorn can be too skinny and we don't want that).

At 7:51 pm a Panda whose name translates to "Success" gave birth to a Boy with 2 Aquarius Rising. This Baby has the Neptune-Venus plus Nodal Axis running across the 1st-7th House. Very photogenic.

At 6:55 am on Sunday, July 27 (this morning) another baby was born. This one has 12 Leo Rising with Venus 18 Leo opposing Neptune along the Nodal Axis. She will be quite a Looker and always very well groomed. She will enjoy arranging the Eucalyptus leaves in her environment. Eucalyptus leaves? Eu, Do I have them mixed up with Koalas?

Notice that the last two Babies have Fixed Sign Ascendants which hooks them into the Earthquake Charts as well.

Sylvan Tomkins

I've briefly talked about the writer Malcolm Gladwell. Mostly I was talking about the Virgo-ness of the topics of his books, The Tipping Point and Blink. Well, I finally got an audiobook version of Blink because it was remaindered at Borders. It was so good I managed to drive down to Palm Springs and back so that I didn't have to get out of the car. Now something's wrong with my car. I must have been blinking too much while I was driving.

Anyway, where was I, oh yeah. Blink discusses researchers's findings concerning the quickness of human perception. Often our perceptions are more accurate when based on first impressions. This isn't always true as in the case of police officers who tend to make stupid judgments about people while their adrenaline is running. That's what all these police brutality cases are about and the departments have found to make up rules that might help deter the rage thing. Anyway, other researchers have found that by watching a couple talk for just 10 or 15 minutes they can tell with 80 percent accuracy whether or not the relationship will last.

One interesting topic mentioned in the book is the face reading work of Paul Ekman. Paul Ekman has labeled human facial expressions according to muscle numbers on the face. He has learned how to discern a person's feelings by looking at facial expressions and he has figured out a way to teach these ideas to others. The guy who inspired him is really fascinating also. This is the guy whose chart I'm looking at because I couldn't find Ekman's birthdate.

This other guy, a psychologist who worked at Princeton, is Silvan Tomkins. Biographical information on him isn't easy to find but I did locate one story about Tomkins' first job. Can't remember what it was, but this job involved determining which horse would win a race at the track by looking at the expression on the horse's face. My Mother used to do the same thing so I know some people can do this. Even more amazing when they can get paid to do it. So. You can see, for a psychologist, Tomkins was a pretty cool guy. This also leads me to believe that Silvan Tomkins had a Scorpio Rising. These people have laser visions into the motives and behaviors of others, doesn't matter how many legs they stand on either.

Here the Sun and most likely the Moon placement are ruled by Mercury. Mercury is quick and observant. You might feel insulted by a Mercury person but you won't really feel judged. They just point out your faults and move on to other topics, no doomsday motives really, although it still feels that way.

Tomkins' Mercury was in Taurus as well conjunct Saturn. His thinking would have been much slower paced and methodical than his perceptions which are shown in the other inner planet aspects.

Tomkins' inner planets are each connected with a different outer planet energy. Mercury-Saturn is sort of a Scientist aspect, organized and determined. Venus here is conjunct its upper octave equivalent Neptune in the sign of Cancer. Desire plus empathy in the sign of the emotions, feelings. This would also account for "Psychic knowing." Mars here is square its upper octave equivalent, Pluto. Mars is at 1 Aries right on the Aries Point and it's a singleton in Fire. This is the inspiration point in the chart (my opinion) and explains Tomkins amazing ability to zero straight in what others were feeling. Mars also has rulership over "The Face." And it indicates little boys. Tomkins developed his theories by taking time off from work after his son was born and just watching his face react to the world.

The following is the list of Tomkins' 9 universal emotional affects as described in "The Neighborhood of God" link listed above. According to that blog Tomkins felt that the nerves of the face were tied to the emotional affects and came across even in a baby's face.
