More Women Journalists Sexually Mobbed in Cairo Last Thursday

The more you try to change things the more they stay the same. Last Thursday two more female reporters were sexually mobbed in Cairo. I guess this means that the Egyptian Spring is for boys only.

I already wrote a post about Journalist Lara Logan who was sexually mobbed in Tahrir Square last February.

Epyptian born American Journalist Mona Eltahawy was beaten, sexually mobbed, blind folded and held for 12 hours. Her arms were broken. And this was done by the Egyptian police!

Mona Eltahawy
b. Aug. 1, 1967 Port Said, Egypt

Sun 9 Leo; Moon Gemini; NN 3 Taurus Rx

(Sun c. Jupiter 14 Leo; Mars 7 Scorpio c. SN; Venus 13 Virgo; Pluto 19 Virgo; Uranus 23 Virgo opposing Chiron 30 Pisces)

Also on Thursday, a French female journalist, Caroline Sinz, was mobbed by about 70 teenage boys and men. I don't have her birth date.

********

I don't have the times of the group rapes so I'm just looking at the general transits for last Thursday to try to understand what set things off.

Sexually Mobbings of Female Journalists covering the Rebellion
Nov. 24, 2011 Cairo, Egypt

Sun 2 Sagittarius; Moon Scorpio through most of the day, became a Sagittarius New Moon in the evening.; NN 15 Sagittarius Rx

Scorpio is related to anything having to do with sex and crime. Sorry, Scorpios, the other signs all commit crimes too, but Scorpio is just the sign that handles all things that are taboo within society (like Taxes, hee hee).

So, it's interesting that the Moon is in Scorpio on this day. Moon is a singleton in Water, (except for Chiron in Pisces) so it contains all issues having to do with Feelings and Emotions. That usually indicates an extreme of some sort.

Moon is also traveling very fast by 4:30 pm at 15'. I don't know what that means really except that Moon rules Women, Feelings, Lunacy, Crowds, and Mobs. I think that when it travels fast things happen which are beyond comprehension.

By evening there was a New Moon in Sagittarius in conjunction with the Sun 2 Sagittarius. Literally, something exceptional about Women (moon); International Affairs (Sagittarius) and Journalism (Sagittarius). Sagittarius is also the sign of the centaur and I've studied a little bit before about how centaurs are often connected with rape. The Centaur is half man and half horse. Definitely Chiron is interesting to look at on this date which I'll point out down below. I'd expect that Jupiterian types of women would be more vulnerable to rape because they need freedom and independence and so would end up in places which makes them more vulnerable.

Mercury and Venus are also in Sagittarius at whatever degrees they were at, near the end of the sign. They are in conjunction with each other and both are Out of Bounds. Venus is also in mutual reception with Jupiter, ruler of Sagittarius.

Venus rules Women and, again, Sagittarius rules International Affairs and Journalism. Mercury also rules News Reporting and Communication. (Venus out of bounds at 24 deg, 37 min; Mercury out of bounds at 24 deg, 45 min.) Mercury is stationing Retrograde on this day which immediately points to some sort of blip in communications. Nothing says I can do anything I want to you quite like rape, although gang stalking comes close.

There's a Grand Earth Trine occurring in this chart between Mars 7 Virgo, Jupiter 3 Taurus and Pluto 7 Capricorn. So, one could expect that men were feeling a little too lucky during this aspect. Mars rules Men. Mars is Lead Planet of a Locomotive chart. This was one Hell of a Train Wreck, that's for sure.

In addition to all this, there's Chiron. On his website Bob Marks said that some astrologer had told him that rape is often shown when Mars is in difficult aspect with Chiron. There was an opposition between the two last week that was squaring the Sun-New Moon.

Mars 7 Virgo opposite Chiron 1 Pisces squaring Sun 3 Sagittarius-Moon at night.

I haven't looked up the other Centaurs. There's one Centaur who is not generally connected with rape but the others are. I wrote about it a long time ago and just can't dig around for it right now.

I wish much healing for Mona Eltahawy and Caroline Sinz (and Lara Logan and all the other victims).

Osama bin Laden Dead

Wow, if you're a Pisces terrorist you sure do have to watch your Neptune transits. Pisces Sun Osama bin Laden has been located and murdered, shot twice on the left side of his face. He was living in a well-healed town not far from the capital of Pakistan called Abbottabad. And he was living within yards, apparently, of a military post in Pakistan.

I sort of wonder if the huge floods which occurred over the Summer in Pakistan had something to do with Osama's end. Neptune rules floods. I googled and found that Abbottabad was flooded on or around August 2. Neptune also rules photography. I wonder if somebody ended up locating him on Google Earth while checking the status of the floods.

Osama has already been buried at sea. The report I read said that no country would take his body. So there's more Neptune.

From an article in San Jose Mercury News the attack began early Monday morning at 1:15 am. Another source said that the attack lasted 40 minutes and that Osama was killed towards the end of the fight. The Neptune-Chiron conjunction was prominently placed in the 1st house at that point. Neptune was a singleton in every way possible, Mutable, Water, Angular, and was ruler of the 1st House and the chart. And, of course, Neptune has just entered its own sign of Pisces.

Uranus 3 Aries was still ruling the chart but had just passed up in to the 1st House as well. And Lilith was with Uranus, of course. Aries rules the face and head. Aries also rules gun fights.

So, perhaps this means that the United States is going to get its mojo back. I still don't understand the 18-19 year cycle of the Moon which relates to being out of bounds but it sure does seem to hook in with the 9/11 attacks. The 10-year part of the cycle which the Moon goes on wild swings in and out of bounds began the day after 9/11 attacks. The part of the 9 year cycle in which the Moon doesn't follow these swings began last month. I wrote about it but am too lazy to link to it.

Anyways, the Moon is the ruler of Cancer which is the U.S. Sun.

Hey, how about the Obama Administration? Pretty awesome crowd of folks. Thanks Guys!!!!

Out of Bounds

Astrology for the 21st Century has published a really incredible article about the effect that Out of Bounds Moons have on World Financial Markets. There are great general descriptions about Out of Bounds planets as well.

Out of Bounds means that the planet is at an extreme declination either above or below the Sun's most extreme declination. From the point of view of the Equator, the Sun is highest at the Summer Solstice in June. This is where the Tropic of Cancer line is placed. The Sun is lowest in the sky at the Winter Solstice in December. This is where the Tropic of Capricorn is placed. These are both abstract circular lines in space which are drawn around the earth at 23 degrees 27 minutes declination North or South. (rounded up usually to 30 minutes in either direction). Hope I've got that info straight, read the article.

I never realized the Sun, Saturn and Neptune never go out of bounds. All the rest of the planets do.

What a great website this is:

"Toilet to Tap"

It's a Barnum and Bailey World, that's for sure. Here's a reason not to stop in Orange County to eat when driving through California. These folks are currently drinking their piss. They were bowled over by some engineer who "educated them" on how NASA Astronauts drink their own pee while in space and so they can too. So back in 2007 the County began to filter its sewer water in order to turn it into drinking water. They actually bought the pitch! I read about it in the Water issue of National Geographic.

Even if this were a good idea. Even if infrastructure didn't break down after multiple years of use. Even if employees were fully competent and didn't make any mistakes. This is still just bad design. Orange County is next to the ocean and if there's one thing they'll have plenty of in the future it's going to be Ocean Water. So, a desalination plant would make sense. NASA engineers don't have sea water in space, that's why they didn't develop the technology.

I remember once my brother came in from surfing and said that the French were installing panels out on the cliffs to try to trap the fog and turn it into water. The French are cool. The French are a little annoying but overall they always do nice things for us. They gave us the Statue of Liberty. They want to serve us liquid clouds to drink from off the shores of La Jolla.

This guy down in Orange County is creepy. He even admits that he wants to develop the process so he can sell it to the Arab countries who need it. Orange County is his cage of lab rats. This is just disgusting. I've had Salmonella. I almost died. There was even a story about an astronaut who got Salmonella on a space flight. NASA wouldn't say what was the cause so I was trying to figure out what the cause was through astrology. HaHa! Shit, in every sense of the word.

So I found a New York Times Article dated Nov. 27, 2007 which said that Orange County was going to start flushing the next Friday. (lost the link)

The chart is kaka:

"Toilet To Tap" Indirect Potable Water Reuse
Nov. 30, 2007 Fountain Valley, CA

Sun 9 Sagittarius; Moon 1 Virgo; NN 2 Pisces

The North Node was just about finished with his 1.5 year transit through the sign that rules Poison and Deception and Hidden Enemies. Good one, Orange County. Mercury, the planet of communicable diseases was squaring the Nodal Axis from 29 Scorpio. Scorpio is the other sign that rules poison. And there was a Moon-Saturn conjunction. It's in Virgo sign of Public Health, but it's on the South Node. Isn't Moon on the South Node one of the worst placements?

There's tons of outer planet stuff going on.

Of course, anything goes at the County Water Department during a mutual reception between Uranus and Neptune. Just try taking a shower or washing your clothes in the Silicon Valley.

Jupiter Conjunct Pluto in Sagittarius. Success!!! Irrational Exuberance. The same people who bought 700,000 mortgages off a 15,000 year income are now drinking their neighbor's pee.

Jupiter at 26 degrees (Galactic Center) and Pluto at 29 degrees (Aries Point). Orange County victimized by people halfway across the globe who are so scared of their own shit they only use their left hands for wiping.

The Saturn-Uranus opposition (man made) was just forming. And the Sun was squaring it. Hubris?

The real clinker is Mars. Mars is placed in its fall in the sign of Cancer, Hearth and Home. Mars is Retrograde. Mars is out of bounds. Mars is lead planet in a Locomotive chart. That's some gnarly fire water you're brewing down there, Orange County.

Progressed Mars comes out of retrograde for this chart around the year 2068. Wonder what that means.

2 Mass Shootings Last Week

Last week there were two mass shootings within two days. The first one, on Thursday, a Military Psychiatrist specializing in treatment of PTSD victims of the Iraq and Afghanistan Wars gunned down a bunch of his comrades at Fort Hood in Texas. The story is complicated by the fact that the shooter was of Arab descent and has been showing signs of loyalties to his heritage rather than his nation. The military and the media is questioning whether or not this was a terrorist attack. Nobody is questioning whether or not modern psychiatrists know what the hell they are doing. Shouldn't they have been the first to question this guy's sympathies with suicide bombers?

My first thought after hearing of the shooting was that the psychiatrist had heard so many PTSD stories that he just lost his mind, kind reminded me of that old episode of Night Gallery episode about the dying Sineater. The Sineater's profession was to sit by the corpse of people who paid him to eat a meal. By doing this he absorbed the sins they had committed during their lifetimes and so releasing their souls to go on to Heaven. Complicated part of the story is that the Sineater is about to die and he wants his Son to take over his profession. The Son, of course, must not only take over his father's awful profession but also must eat all the sins that his Father now contains within his soul. And that's a whole boat load of sins. The last scene is a gory close up of the Son's face as he gorges himself with food and panic. (Wonder if that's when my anorexia started).

Anyway, that's what the story first reminded me of. I completely doubted that the Army Shrink would be a terrorist. Then I looked at his chart. He doesn't have an obvious chart for a mass shooter except that I would expect a Virgo Sun/Scorpio Moon to be a really good aim with a rifle. Well, there's also a Mars-South Node conjunction.

The Shooter/Shrink, Major Hasan, is just past his Pluto square. That can be a difficult passage in a person's life regarding all things Pluto, things concerning one's feelings of power and impotence. Hasan's has been especially difficult as transiting Saturn has been passing over his natal Pluto at the same time while Uranus opposes this past year. Uranus, Pluto, and Saturn working together will certainly bring out a vulnerability to PTSD. Saturn (fear of failure, bitterness) and Pluto (resentment, revenge) can bring depression and Uranus can bring shock, weird and erratic behavior. The orb is considered kind of wide, about 5 or 6 degrees. But, in my opinion, Pluto transits have a long aftereffect, especially when they've been accompanied by other heavy transits and progressions.

Hasan's progressed Mars has been hanging out on top of his natal Pluto and transiting Saturn. That can certainly inflame feelings of rage that seem to come from out of nowhere.

After looking at the shooter's chart I immediately felt that he had not been acting alone. Maybe it's just difficult for me to understand why someone with Middle Eastern heritage would take a job like this in the first place.

Something interesting is that Hasan has a natal Venus-Jupiter conjunction, just like James Arthur Ray, the guy who recently led 3 people to their deaths in a Sweat Lodge in Sedona. (I wrote about this in my blog entry, 1957 problems). Hasan's natal Venus is at the end of Libra conjunct Jupiter in Scorpio. Not only was he going through his Venus Return during the shooting but Venus is squaring transiting Nodal axis. Not the usual transit for a shooting but it stands out.
Hasan's Progressed Venus has been passing through the sign of Scorpio for all of his life and it is now in conjunction with his Neptune at the end of Scorpio. I think it might be a notable connection that the Juipter-Chiron-Neptune conjunction was conjunct the Ascendant at the time of the shooting. At some point Venus has passed over his natal Moon in Scorpio.

I definitely am thinking that this is a frustrated guy thing especially with the Virgo Sun and Middle Age thing. Plus, he's probably been on meds (p.Venus on Neptune) and those things have a repeated history of creating shoot-em-ups. There's this weird conundrum is that the psychiatric profession urges people with traumatic disorders to "get help." And then the truth is they don't have treatments for the trauma.

I wonder if the military or the psychiatric profession is going to do anything to make amends to his patients. In addition to the victims who were slaughtered last Thursday, these people have had insult added to injury.

Hasan started working in psychiatry in 2001 and his mid-Virgo degree Sun would have been squared by the Saturn-Pluto opposition that centered on the Twin Towers attacks. (I sort of remember Michael Lutin pointing out that tense Saturn-Pluto contacts are very often related to the Middle East conflicts). What bad timing for a guy of Arab descent to be entering the Military. That's a bummer job, even for a Virgo Sun/Scorpio Moon workaholic.

The second shooter was a frustrated mentally ill guy whose life has been in free fall. He went to an old workplace and started shooting. He is born only a year apart from Hasan. It's interesting to me that both men were born within a year of each other and in the same Month. Both share a Pisces North Node and a Virgo South Node. They both committed their crimes at their workplaces (Virgo). And they will both probably be considered victims (Pisces) in the end through their mental illness. Pisces also rules drugs so it sure would be interesting to know if pharmaceuticals were somehow to blame. It definitely looks like the Saturn-Uranus-Pluto t-square transit is really hurting these guys (and their victims and their victims' families and friends and coworkers).

Rodriguez' chart is classic for a shooter. Sun conjunct Uranus and Jupiter squaring Mars.

Last Thursday and Friday it's interesting to notice that the Moon was Out-of-Bounds and moving very fast. Plus it was passing over the Gemini-Cancer cusp which is an Aries Point and opposing Pluto and squaring Saturn. That's one busy Moon.

In addition, the Sun was conjunct Mercury in Scorpio and squaring Mars in Leo. Scorpio as a sign is related to all taboo behaviors, murder included. This square was vaguely angular over the Descendant and Midheaven cusps for both shootings.

It's also interesting that the attacks occurred while the Jupiter-Chiron-Neptune conjunction was in the 1st house of both event charts. In Hasan's case this reads out in literal terms as Religion-Wounded Healer-the Unexplained/Terrorism/BadReactionstoPsychMeds.

In the case of Jason Rodriquez' attack, Capricorn was rising and this conjunction was not a prominently placed but still angular in the 1st house. Mars was on the Descendant.

Message In A Bottle

Yahoo has an interesting story of a guy who found an old Bottle with a Message in it while walking around on the beach in North Carolina with his 3 year old daughter. The Message said to contact a Fire Station in New Jersey if found. Since then, Mark Ciarmello of Downingtown, PA has contacted the North Haledon Fire Department. Nobody knows for sure who tossed the message into the ocean but it is assumed that the guys did it as a joke during a fishing trip off the coast. The Yahoo story even talks about the guy who everbody figures must have tossed the bottle. At any rate, whoever tossed the bottle into the message was kind enough to date it so I had to take a look to see if there were any Astro Clues. The Astrology is really amazing.

Message Put Into Bottle and Tossed Into Dah Bright Blue Sea

Aug. 17, 1969 off New Jersey Coast; Barnigan Ridge, NJ

Sun 25 Leo; Moon Libra; NN 22 Pisces

Bottle Found in North Carolina Sand Dunes, "Outer Banks"

October, 2008 (I used October 15 because I don't have an exact date and that's the middle of the month)

This gives a 39 year time span which is too long for a Nodal Return. But the North Node is in a water sign, Pisces, which rules the Ocean.

Ruler of Pisces, Neptune, is squaring the Sun on this day which adds to the Ocean imagery. The bottle is very close to approaching it's Neptune square. (Event Neptune is 26 Scorpio. October Neptune is 22 Aquarius.) And, of course, Neptune was in conjunction with the North Node and Chiron in October.

On top of that Mercury, ruler of messages, is strong in its own sign of Virgo and is opposing the North Node. It is conjunct Pluto and the South Node which certainly gives a Fated theme to the story. As a matter of fact, Mercury is aspecting the two planets that with the strongest survival skills, conjunct to Pluto and trining Saturn.

October (of this year, 2008) was the beginning of the Saturn-Uranus opposition and Lo! Behold! transiting Saturn was at 17 Virgo conjunct the Event Mercury 17 Virgo, Pluto 24 Virgo, South Node 22 Virgo. Transiting Uranus, planet of Return Cycles, was conjunct the North Node in Pisces.

The Progressed Chart for the Event is also really incredible. The bottle was tossed during a conjunction of Uranus 2 Libra and Jupiter 6 Libra. That's a festive combo. Jupiter and Uranus together in that sign show that the beer was very much enjoyed.

The Progressed Mercury for the Event Chart is currently very close to this pair at 10 Libra and it is Retrograde. The Mercury Retrograde is very significant and are said to bring back messages and people from the past. The Progressed Mercury Rx is a very long lasting event so this would not be significant by itself if not transiting Mercury had also been in Retrograde from Oct. 1-16 at 21 to 8 degrees of Libra. I wish I knew what day the bottle was found. It would be really incredible if it had been found in the beginning of October instead of the last part while transiting Mercury RX was in conjunction with Progressed Mercury Rx.

As the Moon was also in Libra that day and the Moon likely represents Bottles (I'll have to double check that with Rex Bills) it would be triply interesting if the prog. and t. Retrograde Mercury's were in conjunction with the time that the bottle was tossed. The Noontime chart gives a middle Libra degree so it's very possible if the men were fishing in the morning.

One last thing. The part about the Firemen throwing the bottle is represented here. Mars represents Firemen. Mars was at 12 Sagittarius. That's a Fire Planet in a Fire Sign. Mars is also special in this chart as he is out of bounds at 25 degrees 22' 58". That certainly indicates a long distance toss. 400 miles and 39 year long throw. Sagittarius rules long distance. And Mars indicates physical strength.

This is so much fun. It goes on and on, even without the birth dates of the people involved. There were 3 Lunar Eclipses in 1969. The one closest to the event was on Aug. 27, 1969. It was the last Eclipse of Saros 108. Someday, maybe that will have some meaning...

Today's Bell: Triple Plutonian Uptick

Today's Dow rose 889 points which is a rise of 10.9 percent and the second biggest Stock Market gain ever. The Closing Bell hit over 9,000 points at 9,065. The Biggest Point Gain ever was on October 13, 2008 where the Dow closed up 936 points.

Today's Chart was Triple Scorpio. That's Determination, Investments, Behind the Scenes dealings and wheelings. This shows that the Ascendant and New Moon (Sun conjunct Moon) were all in Scorpio. Except for a sextile to Pluto, the Sun-Moon conjunction was unaspected by major aspects which emphasizes its influence in the chart.

And illustrating the "Do or Die" attitude, I read somewhere (would have been on Yahoo) that the "Government" "told" the Bankers to start lending money now. There's an urgency to the message.

Pluto rules lending and its influence in the chart is very strong as I pointed out. Saturn (the Authorities) is conjunct its natural spot at the MC. It is opposing Uranus and so they are both angling over the IC/MC axis for the next week. Today they were squaring 1st House Venus (Banks) in Sagittarius which has now moved Out-of-Bounds. Venus is parallel/contraparallel the two Houses of Finance, House 2 and 8.

Interesting to note that Ben Bernanke is now celebrating a Venus Return. His natal Venus is at 10 Sagittarius and transiting Venus is at 12 Sadge. Venus is now moving towards his Sun at 21 Sagittarius. That's imbues some serious snake charming abilities.

Mars is at 17 Scorpio up in the 12th House showing a lot of pushing behind the scenes. Paulson's still hanging in there, evidentally. Wikipedia says he's Christian Scientist. They're tough as nails. I don't know whatever happened to that other guy, Cox. Boy, I can't wait for the TV movie to be made on this crisis.

Looked again at the October 13 Chart to see if there's anything significant about these big point gain charts. The Moon is very connected with the Resource Houses in both charts. It disposits to Pluto (Moon in Scorpio today and in Aries on Oct. 13, rulership through old school). It is also in aspect to Pluto.

On the 13th, the Moon was in the 5th House and today she was in the 11th House. These are the Houses having to do with the more psychological versions of Resources, like Risk, Creativity, Confidence, Wishes, Hopes, Groups. They will show a more positive vibe than the 2d & 8th Houses which show what a person really has or what he/she can make out of others.

A couple of other similarities between the charts is that Venus has been in the 1st House and Jupiter has been in the 2d House. Overall, one would think that is a positive influence on things having to do with money. These aspects alone aren't really that rare so they are just adding to the overall tone. I'm not sure that they can hold up against Pluto's big crossing into Capricorn. Saturn opposing Uranus can be connected with serious, long term financial depressions as I've said before.

One more similarity is that Pluto, at 29 Sagittarius is in aspect to the Angles which are about to change signs in the charts. This might be significant, since Pluto rules investments. Pluto also probably embraces changing signs more than most of the other planets as it can do its transformation thing more easily that way. Today, of course, Pluto's presence is extremely prominent ruling the Sun-Moon conjunction and the chart. The Ascendant today is at 30 Scorpio so tomorrow Sagittarius will rise and Jupiter will begin to rule the Charts for about a month.

For comparison, on October 13, the Midheaven was at 29 Leo and was about to change into Virgo. I did notice a big quieting down surrounding reactions to the crashes. Even remember hearing on the radio (NPR) that the Drama was over. People just became resigned, or the smart ones just got busy and started shopping for bargains. Nobody's better at bottom fishing than the Virgos because they are naturally discerning.

According to Yahoo the biggest gainers in Today's market were the Telecoms and the Oil Companies. With North Node and Neptune in the 3d Houses, I guess one would expect to see them doing well. Verizon managed to post a big gain for its quarterly earnings as have many tech companies. The Oil Companies are such jerks I'm not even going there.

Tomorrow's Opening Bell & Halloween's Cauldron

I spoke too soon about yesterday's Market. Around 3-4 in the Afternoon there was a sudden sell-off. The Aquarius Moon was passing over the Ascendant and still squaring Mars in Scorpio. That's volatile.

Today the Market continued the volatlity again and sold off extremely heavily towards the close and is now down around 8,500 points. Paulson's still saying that Banks are going to close while the Internet whizzes are starting to scream about how this is a buying opportunity. Last I looked the Asian Stock Markets are in the middle of tanking.

It seems as if so far nobody in the real world has been paying attention until today. Probably my imagination but it seems that I saw a lot of old rich guys this evening out talking together in coffee shops. That's about as emotional as those guys get. Others were driving their fancy Middle Age Complex sports cars slowly around parking lots while the skin on their faces pulled g's as if they were spinning around on the teacups ride at Disneyland. Don't know if this is a joke or not but on one of the talk shows Bill Maher made a comment about how 20 percent of U.S. Income is made through the financial services sector. What a useless bunch of idiots we've turned into. This also means that 20 percent of the country can't figure out how to get us out of this mess. People are saying that the Feds have run out of "things to do." I guess they're gonna let Pluto run its course.

So tomorrow's Stock Market Bell.

15 Scorpio Rising. That's half way through Scorpio. That's sumpin. Pluto is still the chart ruler; still in the 2d House at opening of Stock Market Bell. Pluto is still a singleton in Fire. Tomorrow it will be unaspected by major aspect to other planets but will be trining the Leo Midheaven.

The Moon will still be in Aquarius and will be conjunct the Chiron Rx-NN-Neptune Rx stellium blob which has moved into the 3d House. Will somebody make a speech? With Moon-Neptune in the 3d house both natally and astro-stock-marketly I'd assume that it would be President Bush. I assume that it's unfortunate that this blob stellium disposits to 4th House Uranus. I've been sort of worrying that somebody was going to commit hari-kari or something.

Uranus is unpredictable. In the 4th House it's like living underneath a couple that constantly rearranges the furniture at 2:00 am. It isn't happy down at the bottom of the chart in a house that is ruled by feelings, that's for sure. And Saturn is at the top. And Saturn is still the only planet that is at a Northern Declination right now and that's got to be significant.

I've been curious about when the Saturn-Uranus opposition would cross the Midheaven / IC axis of the opening bell charts. That's such a good aspect for an earthquakes, especially with aspects to Mars and the Moon. Halloween happens on a Friday this year and this will be the Stock Market where the opposition hits this angle. After that Uranus will move into the 3d House where its probably more comfortable and Saturn will have moved into the 9th House where it might be more optimistic.

The Halloween Bell is a very interesting chart.

The Saturn in Virgo opposition to Uranus in Pisces is conjunct the IC-MC Axis. And the Sagittarius Moon is conjunct the ASC. This seems more like a social uprising or earthquake kind of chart except that Saturn rules the 2d House and the Moon rules the 8th House, those are the finance houses. Plus, Venus will be apex of a t-square and squaring Saturn-Uranus from the 1st House.

The Ascendant will be 2 Sagittarius.

Three planets, Moon-Venus-Pluto will be in the 1st House all in Sagittarius. They will all disposit to Jupiter which is going to still be in the 2d House of Banking and Money. Sagittarius is expansive, opinionated. Sometimes it's lucky and optimistic.

Venus and Jupiter and the Sun and Moon and Pluto are the Main rulers of money and they are very wildly placed in this chart.

The Scorpio Sun and the Sagittarius Moon will both be unaspected to other planets. The Moon will be conjunct the Ascendant, however.

Venus and the Moon are both out-of-bounds. And out-of-bounds in Sagittarius in the 1st House and believe me that's out of bounds.

As Saturn rules the 2d House and the Moon rules the 8th House of this chart this means that both rulers of these houses are conjunct the angles.

The one thing holding this chart down, believe it or not, is Mars. Mars is secretive up in Scorpio in the 12th house and he's sextiling the Jupiter-Saturn trine.

Father and Son Swept Away for a Night Off Florida Coast

You think you were suffering this last Sunday after too long a night? Just think how Walter and Chris Marino felt. Chris is a 12-year old boy who was vacationing with his family near Daytona Beach, Florida. He jumped into the ocean around 7:30 pm on Saturday Night and got stuck in a rip tide. His Father, Walter, jumped in to save him and got caught in the current as well. It was probably too dark for the Coast Guard to find them so they spent the entire night floating around out off the coast. The next morning they were rescued. Walter was found at 7:30 am about 8 miles off shore and Chris was found 2 hours later about a mile away. During the night they had become separated.

This is a Miracle Story and it's always good to understand what the chart of a Miracle looks like. I tend to think that the Uranus-Neptune mutual reception combined with Pluto in Sagittarius is bringing more than the average amounts of Miracle Stories but who knows? At any rate, when Chris first made his big splash on Saturday evening Pisces would have been rising. That describes the Ocean scenery perfectly. The ruler of the Chart, Neptune, is conjunct the North Node (Destiny) right now and up in its own 12th House.

Uranus, planet of Unexpected Events, was very close to the Ascendant, a singleton in Water Signs. It makes sense from looking at this chart as an Event that a Shock will come from the Water if Uranus is placed in challenging aspect. Here it is opposing the Sun-Saturn conjunction in Pisces. Saturn rules Fathers and it is conjunct the 7th House cusp. Whatever else it is, this event has definitely turned out to be a real Father-Son bonding project.

The Uranus to Sun-almost Saturn opposition seems to be key to this event as it is straddling the ASC-DESC Axis at the beginning of the event. It is in the opposite position of this Angle 12 hours later what the Father is first rescued.

So this put Uranus and Saturn on strong Angular Positions. Pluto, ruler of both the Underworld and of a Water Sign is angular up in the 10th house as well and unaspected. Pluto works from beneath the surface, you really have to watch out for the undertows that he creates. And the whole shape of this chart is lopsided into a bowl shape that's bound by the Uranus to Sun-Saturn opposition. Something had to fall over.

Also creating a problem was the Out-of-Bounds Moon this week-end. In the end, this is probably what saved these two men. The Moon was in Sagittarius and Sagittarius will take on an Adventure. Chris, the Son, as a 12 year old is probably just past his Jupiter Return so this may have been some sort of weird Astro Expression of his natal chart as Jupiter rules Sagittarius. Mars-Mercury and Venus were also in conjunction (placed in angular 7th House) and squaring Jupiter in Capricorn. If Chris has natal Jupiter in Capricorn it makes sense astrologically at least that he would celebrate his 1st Jupiter Return in some way with his Dad (Capricorn rules Fathers). That adds to the Adventurous, positive spirit that the Marinos exhibit. They say that the Lighthouse saved their lives because it gave them a point of reference and they knew they were still close to land. Perhaps the elevated placement of the Moon is symbolic of that.

When Walter (the Father) was picked up around 7:30 the next morning this chart was flip flopped almost as if the chart capsized on itself (or reverse-capsized). The bowl shape was covering the bottom half of the chart.

As rescue, The Moon was conjunct the IC and, along with the MC, was involved in both a Grand Square (square Sun-Saturn-ASC opposite Uranus-DESC) and a Kite/Grand Trine (Mars-Mercury-Venus trine North Node).

When Chris (the Son) was picked up two hours later (around 9:30 am) Mars (ruling boys) was conjunct the Ascendant. The whole time the Mercury-Venus-Mars conjunction was trining (protection) the Neptune-North Node conjunction. Looking at the chart, it almost looks as if Neptune, Lord of the Sea, was doing this on purpose. It's none of my business but I hope that this family seeks treatment for Post-Traumatic Stress immediately because this chart would certainly be a strong indicator that problems will embed themselves deeply in the psyche if not openly confronted as soon as possible. I read that Chris is Autistic. This Adventure could either help him or hurt him depending on how it is handled. He certainly has shown that he has strength and survival skills. With the Jupiter influence maybe he will go on to publish a book about his experience (with his Dad, of course).

Pat Steir

Pat Steir is an Abstract artist in New York who is known for her huge canvases of dripped paint. Her paintings evoke imagery of Water and Land. So, I was sort of surprised to see that she's an Aries Sun which is in conjunction to the degree of her South Node and Jupiter in Aries. I suppose you could say that Steir's paintings are "Ariesian" in that they are so direct. There's absolutely no distinction between the content, the paint, the philosophy, and the technique. Somehow Steir can drip paint on to a canvas and create exceptional beauty.

My introduction to Steir was through a video about artists. The video was filmed some time in the 90s and Steir was bemoaning the fact that clients were at that time paying more for labor than for inspiration so I guess her works weren't as marketable at that point. I wanted to look at her chart for indicators of ease and not wanting to labor over something just because I was so taken aback by her frankness and lack of ego. For this I would expect a strong Venusian contact and that's definitely here. Steir's Venus is in Gemini conjunct Mars (creativity) to the degree. It's also relating to Pluto in multiple ways. Venus here is out-of-bounds. And it's squaring and is parallel to Pluto which is also out-of-bounds. An extremely artistic, emotionally intimate nature. Her Taurus Moon also disposes to Venus. All this indicates a very tactile nature. You can tell she must really enjoy watching the flow of that paint.

Steir's Venus went Retrograde by Progression around 1997. I wonder if this is about the time that she made the video that I saw.

The Mars and Venus conjunction is also remarkable because these planets together rule both her Nodal Axis and her Aries Sun and Taurus Moon! This perhaps shows how Steir works from such an intuitive and well synthesized vision.

As one would expect Steir's Neptune is strong. It's opposition to Mercury in Pisces forms the Boundary Opposition to a Bowl Shaped Chart. Mercury, as a matter of fact, is a singleton in Water. Pretty interesting because, as I said before, Water and Wateriness is such a strong subject matter in Steir's paintings. Mercury and Neptune have many connections with each other in the same way that Venus and Pluto do in Steir's chart. Mercury disposes to Neptune as it's in Pisces. Also, the two are in Mutual Reception.

Pretty interesting is the Saturn-Pluto square. This can show more of a need for control than I would expect from Steir. Maybe there is a lot of control necessary to create these paintings, I don't know. Making things look easy is the signature of great artists. This pair together certainly gives a lot of drive to work and to have a career. It can also give a great sense of scale and mass which Steir's work certainly has.

Maybe this is too much infomation, but I will also note that Steir was born while Uranus was in Taurus trining Neptune in Virgo. A great signature for Abstraction. Uranus may be in conjunction with Steir's Moon.

The Earthquake That China Predicted

In 1975 China successfully predicted that an earthquake would occur and managed to evacuate a million people. Ninety percent of the buildings and other structures were damaged but no lives were lost. I'm not sure if they've managed to repeat this amazing feat.

7.3 Earthquake that China Predicted

Feb. 4, 1975 Haicheng 19:36 LT

Sun 16 Aquarius; 9 Virgo Rising; 8 Gemini MC; Moon 30 Scorpio; NN 8 Sagittarius

Mercury rules the ASC and MC in this chart. It is placed in Aquarius, the sign of intuitive knowing & prediction (especially through technology and science), but it is Retrograde. Maybe this had a dampening effect on the Shock & Surprise aspect of Aquarius? The Sun is also in Aquarius. I think that this sign is often associated along with Mercury of thing Man-Made. Here it could indicate Man's ability to understand Nature. This is particularly interesting to think about because Uranus, which rules Aquarius, also rules Earthquakes.

Interesting to note about this earthquake is that one of the warning signs that Scientists used were the behaviors of animals. They noticed that animals starting acting bizarrely about 5 1/2 hours before the earthquake. This could be indicated by multiple aspects: Mercury and Sun in the 6th House of Pets, Jupiter in the 7th House of Partners in Pisces (sign of Large Animals) and Neptune (sign of Large Animals) in Sagittarius (Humans w/animals) conjunct the North Node and IC in Sagittarius. Unaspected Jupiter brings more Luck to an endeavor.

Pluto was in the 2d House just about to move into the 1st House. It rules major disasters and mass destruction (when badly placed). Pluto is apex to a t-square here to an opposition of Mars in Capricorn and Saturn in Cancer. As Saturn and Capricorn are the signs of WARNINGS, maybe, just maybe this had something to do with the Scientists' abilities. It's interesting to notice that Mars is Out-of-bounds, something which didn't happen in the Hayward Fault Earthquakes (which I thought was odd). Since we are currently experiencing an out-of-bound Mars in Cancer/Gemini that was opposing Pluto I'm aware of the feeling of tension and unease associated with this aspect. This would help in predictions.

Also interesting is the fact that the Nodes are layered over the IC/MC line and Neptune is conjunct the NN/IC. This is a visionary aspect. Also seems to be a major predictor (the Nodes at least) of Earthquakes when the Nodes are crossing an angle.

Venus is conjunct the Descendant from the 6th House and is trining Uranus in Scorpio (H2) and Saturn in Cancer (H11). Perhaps this is also an indicator of the success of the earthquake prediction in saving so many lives. H11 would be associated with Earthquakes through Aquarius rulership and H2 associated with Earth through Taurus rulership.

Clyfford Still

While Gemini deals with the world of concrete ideas, Sagittarius deals with the world of abstract ideas. So it makes sense when Abstract painters are Sagittarians. There are very few painters who I feel completely moved by when I'm viewing their works in a Museum. When I was living in San Francisco I would go into a room in the museum which only hung Still's paintings. It was like being out in nature, or a lot like driving across the United States where there's nothing but vast amounts of land all around. The scale was huge and there was a sense of something even bigger existing just beyond what the eye could see. Really amazing. And also seems very Sagittarius to me.

Still was a 20th century Abstract Expressionist, I think he's categorized in what are called "Color field painters." His paintings were generally very large, full of strong, pure, flat colors in jagged shapes. The paint is very richly implied in thick impasto that tapers down to very thin edges in spots, sometimes to bare canvas. I seem to remember reading somewhere that he made his own oil paints so that he could work with exactly the correct type of paint that he needed. He made a huge donation of 30 or so paintings to a museum with all kinds of stipulations about how they were to be displayed just so that he could guarantee that they would be presented correctly. I know that Virgo is often thought to be the perfectionist sign but I've found this much more in Sagittarius. And in fact Still's chart has strong Virgo-Sagittarius emphasis as you can see below. He has one of the Classical Signatures for an artist with Venus in major aspect to Neptune (opposition).

Clyfford Still

b. Nov. 30, 1904, Grandin, ND

Sun 9 Sagittarius; Moon Virgo; NN 15 Virgo

Wikipedia seems to have updated Still's bio lately with some pretty interesting information. Usually short bio's dwell on his irascible personality and nothing more. Still was educated in Washington state and taught there at the beginning of his career. He and another artist spent 4 years teaching a school that documented the lifestyles of the Native Americans living in the area. His paintings are usually painted in earth pigments, perhaps influenced by interaction with this culture. The other Color Field painters were using the most modern materials they could get their hands on.

Still got his first show in 1943 in San Francisco. He had been working for the War in an ammunitions factory. This must have been a difficult time for him as t. Saturn was conjunct his natal Pluto and t.Pluto and the North Node were opposite his natal Saturn. His progressed Sun had been passing over his natal Venus in Capricorn for the last 3 years. This must have been a time of hard work and frustration for waiting. Don't want to make those Sagg's wait too long, they're pretty impatient. I wonder if this is when he developed his personality problems.

In 1943, the Pluto-North Node conjunction was in Leo, sign of art, and it was trining his natal Sun, so he got his first whack at Fame (Pluto) this year. T.Neptune was also conjunct his natal Mars in Libra (Art, Action) and t. Uranus was opposing his Sun (Innovation, Avante-Garde).

Also interesting at this time is the movement of Still's Progressed Mercury. It had been moving Retrograde in Capricorn until 1946 when it turned Direct. This happened right on the Capricorn Aries Point and might be associated with his growing prominence. I think this also extended the influence of his search as an artist as Mercury essentially remained within conjunction of his natal Uranus for a long period of time, about twenty or so years, sorry I didn't look up the exact amount of years.

The Pluto in Leo transit seems to have really brought out the artistic side of his expression as it was trining his Sagittarius planets, first Sun and then Mercury-Uranus. Viewing Still's art really is a firey experience. The edges of the forms are jagged (Wiki's word) and almost look like fire. His use of color is strong and pure, usually he used only warm colors, basic Black, Red, White and Yellow. You can actually see the influence of Pluto moving into Virgo in the late 50s as he started adding the color Blue into his paintings.

Natally Still's conjunction of Mercury and Uranus in Sagittarius could be naturally connected with a person who is Avante-Garde and Individualistic and Freedom loving. This is made extra potent by the fact that both planets are out-of-bounds in his chart. Mercury is also in opposition to Pluto in Gemini, a generation that stressed invention.

Still seems to have bounced back and forth between the West and East Coast. He was probably most appreciated on the East Coast but needed the freedom of the West Coast. In 1961 he settled on a Farm in Maryland. By then Pluto was firmly planted into Virgo and it seems that his most famous work was done. He died in 1980.

Learn to Stop Worrying and Love the Bomb

Recent obituary news brings the death of the Guy who rode the Bomb, rather the guy who dropped the bomb on Hiroshima, Japan. They say he never regretted what he did. What's the chart look like of a guy who feels no Guilt? Shows no Remorse? He even named the Bomb, otherwise called "Little Boy" after his own Mother. She must have been one Hell of a Gal!

Paul Warfield Tibbet
b. Feb. 23, 1915 Quincy, IL

Sun 5 Pisces; Moon Gemini; NN 27 Aquarius

The Pisces-Aquarius combination here is interesting just because, as I talked about earlier in my Blog, "Boys Toys" this combination came up strongly in the charts of almost all the major Scientists who had a part in building the Bomb. Tibbet's chart is almost all in Aquarius and Pisces so he fits right in with this "New" "Modern" "Mass" "Invention."

But the scientists behind the Bomb all regretted what they did. Tibbet didn't.

Something else has to be going on here. And, Boy, Boy O Boy, is it ever! Tibbet's chart, granted I don't have a birth time, has no Squares and no Oppositions! I suppose some people would be devastated by a transiting Opposition or Square. But in this case the energy was used to become devastating, and I don't mean that in a good way. Hmm, maybe I should say Blitzed out. You combine that with the Sun conjunct Jupiter in Pisces, this is a guy who was full of unbounded enthusiasm. Slim Pickens riding the bomb in the last scene of Dr. StrangeLove really does come to mind here.

This is further emphasized by the fact that Tibbet's Venus and Neptune are both unaspected in his chart. He had no planets in Earth. There's nothing holding this guy down.

Boy o Boy!

Then there's Mars, planet of aggression, great to look at in this chart for obvious reasons. Mars here is in Aquarius conjunct Uranus. That's a great aspect for a fighter pilot, one who strikes from a distance with cool, mental detachment. Uranus is in it's own sign so very strong and it only aspects Mars. Mars on the other hand is also trining Saturn. Basically, not only does this guy have unbounded enthusiasm but he's disciplined, forceful, and a good shot.

I found one more stand-out feature that sets Tibbets apart from the rest. His Moon. Mom the Bomb, Enola Gay. Remember I said he named the Bomb after his Mom? Well, what does the Moon look like in the chart of a guy who names an a Bomb after his Mom that annihilates an entire city? Okay, sitting down? Moon conjunct Saturn and Pluto and Moon is Out-of-Bounds. Saturn and Pluto together and the Guy says he doesn't feel guilt, this is one for the Pope. It's always the ones who refuse to feel guilty who have the most to apologize for.

If born early in the day Tibbet's moon would be conjunct only his Saturn in Gemini (Rx). If anytime after say, 10 or 11 am his Moon would be in Gemini sandwiched between his Saturn in Gemini and his Pluto in Cancer!

And there's more ... Pluto is right smack dab on the Aries Point of Cancer. Sort of Patriotism Gone Mad.

And it gets even worse...the day he dropped the Bomb, he was 30 years old, just past his Saturn Return and really wanting to make a "mark" in the World.

And it was his Lunar Return for the Month. Remember his natal Moon is Out-of-Bounds.

And the Sun was conjunct Pluto in Leo opposite his Uranus-Mars in Aquarius. Remember this is a guy who has no Natal Oppositions so was born with no reference point.

Yee-Haw! Ride em Cowboy.

Prescott Bush and Geronimo, Thief's Bones

This is an addition to my blog about Geronimo written back in November where I found a common theme in Geronimo's (The Apache chief) chart in regards to his Saturn Returns. His Saturn is heavily emphasized in his natal chart. It's in Leo and I've come to think during this latest transit that this is a wild placement for Saturn leading to dramatic actions in life. Also, Saturn is involved in both a Kite pattern of 4 outer planets (Uranus opp. Saturn trine Pluto and Jupiter) and a Mystic Rectangle (Uranus, Pluto, Saturn, NN). This can indicate a person who strongly represents his Generation. It also seems to indicate that when he went through his Saturn Returns, many powerful elements of his chart lit up at the same time in strong aspect to themselves and to each other. Many elements of his life were interdependent on the others.

Subsequently, Geronimo went through unbelievable losses. First Return, his entire family was killed. Second Saturn Return, he surrendered his people to the White Settlers. On the 3d Saturn return he was dead and buried at Fort Sill in Oklahoma, but according to many reports his Bones (Saturn ruled) were stolen from his grave by Prescott Bush and a friend who were stationed at the base. Bush (GW's Grandfather) is said to have taken the bones with him to the Skulls and Bones society at Yale where they were used in ceremonies. On this last Return, his Grandson requested the Bones be returned and a memorial set up in New Mexico.

I looked at Prescott Bush's chart finally.

Geronimo

b. June 16, 1829 Turkey Creek, Arizona (date is from Wikipedia)

Bush had no planets in Fire and a Sun Singleton in Earth, otherwise he was all Water and Air.

Uranus in Scorpio is very strong in Bush's chart. It trines his North Node, opposes his Sun, rules the sign of his Moon and maybe even squares it. Combined with the Taurus Sun shows interests in Banking and Business, being able to distance one's self from the emotional side of things. Also, a humanitarian side, which brings in the Public Service side. Neptune rules his North Node and squares it. He was born during the Pluto-Neptune conjunction in Gemini with both planets in conjunction with their dispositor, Mercury. So the guy could tell a story, if you know what I mean. And he wouldn't be averse to stealing during his lifetime.

What's interesting with regards to Geronimo is the relationship of his inner Cancer planets to Geronimo's. They both had Venus and Mars in Cancer in conjunction with each other and out-of-bounds. When you consider that Cancer is the sign that rules domestic relations and patriotism this gets really interesting, because Geronimo held out longer than anyone against the white man. It's almost as if Prescott really was stealing Geronimo's spirit along with his bones. His chart certainly shows the psychic abilities to understand these forces if only on a subconscious level. Geronimo's chart shows lots of Fire. Stealing Fire?

Prescott's Venus is at 4 Cancer and out-of-bounds at 25 degrees 21 minutes N declination and Geronimo's is at 3 Cancer and out-of-bounds at 24 degrees 5 minutes N declination.

Prescott's Mars is at 15 Cancer and out-of-bounds at 24 degrees 7 minutes N and Geronimo's Mars is at 16 Cancer and out-of-bounds at 23 degrees 40 minutes N.

An interesting item to note regarding Prescott's Cancer planets is that he was one of the first advocates of Birth Control in the 1940's. During this time his Sun was progressing through Cancer and over these planets. This just strikes me as funny since Cancer is supposed to be the sign of procreation.

Is Prescott related to Prescott, Arizona by the way? Because Geronimo was born in Arizona just South of there.

My article called "Barfing and Bloodlines" shows a progressed Solar Connection between Prescott and first his son George the President and then his Grand Son, George the President II.
