When it comes to Pharmaceuticals Modern Medicine is really bummed out. Neptune has been in conjunction with Chiron, the planet which has to deal with things that it can't be fixed.

The Drug Companies are so leery of making more mistakes and getting into more lawsuits that the Government is making bigger and bigger labs in order to try to keep up with the hopes and wishes of the Science community. (read that about 2 weeks ago in the newspaper somewhere)

And it turns out that pills that are meant for humans are the biggest toxin ingested by household pets. (Got this one: "Human meds a threat to pets (San Jose Mercury News, Jan. 29, 2011).

Whoa, Dude, gnarly session. On April 4, Neptune moves into Pisces its own sign. What that brings is anybody's guess. Artists and Orphans? Most of the fish have died off, there are islands of plastic bags floating where they used to live, but it seems that new species are showing up.

Neptune rules Drugs as they work for recreational purposes. I assume Neptune also rules Medications for health as well, but maybe that's actually more of a Virgo thing. Neptune rules big institutions, like big government labs and hospitals with long corridors that people lock up and throw away the keys to. This is probably great news for the pot farmers, though, except that Neptune also rules pesticides and fumigants and all things toxic.

Maybe it will be important to start paying more attention to where Ceres is during this transit. You sort of want to know what people really care about in order to deal in a constructive way with "Old Blue."

It's pretty interesting that the AMA was formed just as Neptune passed in to Pisces last time (19th century some time), so it's having a Neptune Return. And even more interesting is that the first Vegetarian Society formed in England the same month in May. This was just as Neptune made its first square to the Sun after its ingress. Both transits challenge the Sun first off from the same sign. Gemini the Fix It Guy. Interesting how that one month (gotta go look it up again, June 18--) kind of took the direction of cure in polar opposite directions.

For some reason I think this last transit mentioned is important. The Sun-Neptune square, that is. The leaders of the two biggest economies in the world at this point, China and the U.S. both have natal Sun-Neptune squares. Obama is a Leo Sun square Neptune in Scorpio. Hu Jintao is a Sagittarius Sun square Neptune in Libra.

Man, hate to say it, first thing that comes to mind when I see Sun in Gemini square Neptune in Pisces is corruption. And, then, very quickly after that I see a great tendency to create compassion and beauty in the world. And that's pretty awesome. The French developed the idea of Impressionism during the last Neptune in Pisces phase. Scattered points of light and color.

Carlina White Abduction Solved

Carlina White was abducted when she was 19 days old. Her Mother brought her to a Hospital because she had a fever. A woman who claimed to be a nurse took the baby and walked off with her.

23 years later Carlina, renamed Nejdra Nance by her abductor-Mom, solved her own Missing Persons case by searching the cold cases on the website for Missing and Exploited Children. Carlina has since been reunited with her parents.

First off, I'm going to point out an interesting phenomena that I find occurring when babies experience a big trauma in their life within the first month of their birth. One can sometimes see a direct relation between age of baby by day that fans out into and correlates with age of baby by year by using a simple Solar Progression. For example, if a baby's parent walks out when the baby is 16 days old, the parent who walked out could return in to the baby's life at around age 16. You project one year for every day that the baby was. (I got this information first by looking at President Gerald Ford's bio and chart, his Father was kicked out for being violent when Ford was 16 days old. The Father walked up to Ford when Ford was 16-17 from out of the blue). In Carlina White's case, she was 19 days old when she was abducted. She began to look for her real parents 5 years ago when she would have been around 18 or 19. This is because her abductor couldn't give her a birth certificate.

This chart is pretty awesome to look at in terms of looking at a chart which represents a significant phone call and also through use of Internet. Mercury rules telephones. Uranus and probably Pluto rules the Internet. All three are angular.

Mercury, ruler of telephones, rules the Ascendant and Midheaven of the chart. Mercury is placed in the 4th house and is in conjunction with the IC. That's the point of the chart which represents family, mother, home.

Mercury is Retrograde which often represents a time when people from one's past come back in to one's life. Maybe this is a good thing for people to know about when looking for loved ones.

Mercury is also part of a Yod configuration here. Yods, as described in Karen Hamaker-Zondag's book on the subject, can show how a working out of a difficult family related problem can arise in an individual's life. That individual specifically has to work on this problem. That's maybe a good signature to have when calling anyone about family problems. Yods are triangle configurations in the chart that are made up of two planet connected by a sextile (talent) and connected to a third planet through inconjunct aspects (adjustment).

In this chart (phone call), the apex of the Yod is Moon in Cancer (H11). Moon directly rules Families and homelife, and specifically, the Mother. It was passing over Carlina's Sun at that point and was under the influence of the recent set of Eclipses. Moon is very strongly placed in its own sign. And, being in the 11th House shows some sort of weirdness connection. 11th House brings surprising events. In connection with the Moon it will definitely describe an unusual circumstance involving the Mother and the Family and Women in general (along with emotional needs) The 11th House rules Hopes and Wishes. It also rules the Internet and any kind of Network.

So, the Moon is connected to two legs of a triangle by Inconjunct aspects. Inconjuncts represent "Adjustment" and situations which seem to never feel right. In this case, the one leg is created by Mercury Retrograde in Sagittarius which is the key spot of the chart as Mercury rules phone calls. The other end of the leg is the tight conjunction of Neptune and Chiron in Aquarius. Neptune rules Hospitals and Social Workers and Chiron represents Woundings that don't heal. In this chart it is conjunct the 6th House of Jobs and Service and is unaspected by major aspect to the other planets. Don't really know how to concisely explain what this means except that the Universe was guiding Carlina at that point. The Jupiter-Uranus conjunction in Pisces was within close orb of conjunction with the Descendant at that time. Jupiter brings Luck and Good Fortune and Uranus brings in the surprise element once again. The article linked to above talks about the person who answered the phone at the call center and helped Carlina. Carlina had been looking for 5 years so one can sense that this was not the usual person.

To top things off we look at the 3d House which rules Telephones. Venus (rules Relationships) is conjunct the cusp of this house to the degree (Placidus). Pluto rules the house. Pluto rules abductions, crimes of all sorts, and great detective work. As I said, Pluto is in a very significant conjunction with the North node (Destiny), Mars and the Sun in Capricorn and is placed in the 4th House of Family, Mother, Home.

It's interesting to notice the strength of Mars related to Carlina. This can show a person's ability to iniate and do things on one's own. Carlina has natal Mars 6 (Or 7?_) Leo squaring Pluto 8 Scorpio in her chart. One never knows how this aspect will work out in life but sometimes it can indicate a connection to a criminal event. There will be lessons involved in wilfulness both in one's self and in others.

The day that Carlina was abducted Mars had moved to 19 Leo. Her progressed Mars has been passing over that spot and is currently 2 degrees past at 21 Leo.

Carlina also has a natal Sun-Jupiter square which can show that she carries a lucky streak (and also is probably a bit more sensitive when things don't feel "right"). Squares give one the energy to take on a challenge. Jupiter wants Happy Endings to all its stories. It adds the concept of Redemption to all philosophical and moral problems.

Since Ceres and Pluto are connected through a story of abduction in Mythology I wanted to hopefully quickly check those planets in Carlina's chart.

Ceres represents the Goddess of Agriculture whose daughter Persephone is abducted by Pluto. There is a whole story about Ceres' pain and wrath over this and eventually Pluto returns Persephone to live above ground with her Mother for half of the year in return for keeping Persephone the other half of the year below ground. This explains the seasons. For half of the year, the crops don't grow as a result of Ceres' loss.

Turns out that Carlina's natal Ceres is at 24 Sagittarius which is exactly conjunct her natal Uranus and opposing natal Chiron 25 Gemini. I've spoken about how Uranus brings about unusual circumstances and also the idea of the Internet and all networks. It is unusual to be an abducted baby and it is probably even more unusual to be returned to one's family after such a long time. The sign of Sagittarius seems very significant here. Sagittarius is ruled by Jupiter and as I said before, Jupiter requires Happy Endings. Sagittarius is an independent sign which rules free, positive thinking which can solve large problems.

Mercury Retrograde was in Jupiter's sign at 24 Sagittarius at the time of Carlina's phone call. And, as I've stated it was very strongly placed in conjunction with the IC of the phone call chart (and squaring Jupiter-Uranus-DESC).

Without a birth time I can't say for sure, but it would be really interesting to know the exact placement of Carlina's natal Moon. The noontime chart places it at 26 Pisces. This would mean that it is apex to a t-square to Ceres-Uranus opposing Chiron. The Moon is so key to a story about both babies and abductions and family life and Mothers. Placement in Pisces which rules Hospitals and Lost Children and Orphans seems almost too good to be true.

Carlina's natal Pluto is in its own sign of Scorpio. Pluto is related to most crimes as it shows deep seated problems and compulsions. This is especially so in square to Mars 6 Leo. It is also trining Mercury and Venus 8-13 Cancer. Trines are aspects which show talents and can explain why the adductor was so taken with Carlina's charms (unfortunately).

At the time of Carlina's phone call to the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children, the Moon 25 Cancer (H11) was in opposition to Ceres 26 Capricorn. Mercury-Sun-Pluto-NN-Mars were all placed over the end of Sagittarius/beginning of Capricorn in the 4th House. In a way, Carlina is like a real life version of Dorothy of Oz.

Just click your heels together!!! (Red, as in Ruby Slippers, is even the color of Mars-Pluto!).

I'm still trying to figure out if there is a significance in the Planetary Cycles for Carlina's return home. Cycles are literally planetary Returns so probably I'm just forcing it but I'd really like to see a literal return of a planet. As I said, Progressed Mars has hit the spot where transiting Mars was during the abduction.

Also, The big stellium in the 4th House is directly over Carlina's natal Neptune. Pluto-Neptune connections can show a wiping out of something in the individual's life. Carlina has just found out not only her real family but her real name.

Lilith is very strong in both charts. She is in conjunction with Carlina's natal Sun and is in conjunction with the Descendant in the phone call chart.

Carlina's about to have a Jupiter Return but the degrees are too out of orb even for my compulsion to make things work.

Holly Lahti's Saturn Return

Holly Lahti is the Idaho woman who won half of a Super Fabtabulistic Lottery Prize. Half of more than 300 million dollars. She was the miracle story of the single mother who gets the big break in life. That is she was until her husband showed up asking for half of the money and jeering about he no longer owes child support. He sounds like a real cool guy. Then a mug shot showed up of Holly with cuts and bruises on her face after the police arrested both Holly and Hubby back when they were together.

Now Holly has disappeared. And no wonder.

So, Holly is 29. That's the age of one's Saturn Return. Saturn shows our big Karmic Lessons in Life. And it's just so amazing that Holly's Saturn is in Libra, the sign of Marriage and Open Enemies. I mean, who the hell else wins the Lottery and then the psycho husband shows up and gleefully brags about how much he resents his kid.

Oh Libra.

Libra. The sign that intertwines and contracts us with every damn other single thing in the universe on the proverbial one to one.

And so then where is Jupiter in this mess? Jupiter is the planet often associated with Good Luck and so we often want to see what it is doing when one wins a Lottery. If Holly is 29 right now she may have been born around 1981 I've found a date for someone with her name born in that year in February. This date (I have no idea if it's the one) puts Jupiter in conjunction with Saturn in Libra to the degree. And they are both trining Venus, planet of money, which is conjunct the South Node (Aquarius).

Well, and then there's Pluto, planet of paying the piper. Sex. Death. Taxes. Other People's Money. Pluto is also in Libra, sign of marital bliss (and compromise).

Well, here's hoping that Holly is floating around on a yacht somewhere with her child and not bothering with any of these problems anymore.

She's got a few more lessons to learn about partners. It looks like she was already struggling and I hope she can find some decent well meaning folks who won't take advantage anymore.

Will California be Deluged?

I was sort of hoping that California would finally attract a decent set of artists during its Neptune Return in Pisces is coming up. I was also hoping that someday all the broken down underground plumbing would get fixed. All I wanted was to be able to flush and not have to have it all come back up at me. As they say, be careful what you wish for.

Yahoo is flailing an end of the world article about how 100 Scientists say that we're due for a big Superstorm that will wipe out a quarter of the houses.

Neptune is ruler of Pisces and Pisces is a water sign, ruler of the oceans, atmosphere and breaking down of barriers. And flooding. Turns out that this happens every 150 years or so in California. That's very close to a Neptune Return which is about 156 years.

Back in 1861-62 the Central Valley was flooded so badly that the State Capitol was moved. I can't remember from where to where. Oh, San Jose to Sacramento.

California's natal Neptune is at 6 Pisces. The chart listed on Astrodienst gives a time for California which looks too hunky dorey to be an accurate time. This chart places Neptune in the 4th House trining Scorpio Rising and Moon.

Back at the time of that last Deluge, Neptune was right at the end of Pisces/beginning of Aries. That's the beginning of the chart wheel.

California will have a Neptune Return within the next few years. Then will have a Uranus Return soon after. Both Planets are in aspect with each other and with the Ascendant of this chart and with Pluto, planet of crisis, as well. And Uranus is conjunct n.Pluto at 30 Aries on the same degree.

Plus, California is a Virgo so has a very large number of Scientists who know what they're talking about.

2011 Planets Out of Bounds and Retrogrades

Mercury will be out of bounds in June and also in Nov-Dec. 13.

Mars will be out of bounds between July 24 to Aug. 22.

Venus apparently will not go out of bounds this year.

Astrologyweekly.com also offers lists of the Retrograde Planets for 2011 along with other years. Who knew? (I'm so slow-ow-oe).

The year started with a Mercury Retrograde in Sagittarius. And the Mercury Retrogrades will be in mostly Fire Signs this year. "One foot forward. Two steps back. Do the hokey pokey..." (that's a Sadge thing that my Mother used to say).

March 30 to Apr 23 Mercury will be in Aries.
Aug. 2 to Aug. 26 Mercury will be in Virgo/Leo.
Nov. 23, to Dec. 13 Mercury will be Sagittarius.

Fire is spark and enthusiasm. That's good. We need this this. There will be all kinds of screw ups because of impulsive behavior and impatience, maybe a little temper tantrum, hopefully no gun powder. I wonder if this will do something big for the transportation industry and neighborhood planning. Watch out for the neighborhood pyromaniac? Watch out or you may become kindling.

Jupiter Retrograde at 11 Taurus on Aug. 30 to Dec. 25 1 Taurus. Maybe some attention will be directed towards the Arts. Saturn Retrograde at 18 Libra on Jan 26 to June 13 11 Libra. Everyone, would you just be civil? (No).

Uranus Retrograde on July 10 at 5 Aries to Dec. 10 at 1 Aries. Fireworks all year.

Neptune Rx on June 3, at 1 Pisces to Nov. 9 at 29 Aquarius. We were supposed to learn something from all these weather problems, but what was it?

There's Neptune's ingress into Pisces, the sign which it rules. That's good for the arts and for psychiatrists who will be institutionalizing people left and right. I'm supposing that the best art will be coming from China because I know they've been working on it and no one else seems to have been. Why bother painting for a bunch of old Pluto in Virgos who only like what they can make money off of.

Pluto goes Rx on Apr. 9 at 8 Capricorn to Sept. 16 5 Capricorn. The Plutocracy continues. Maybe begins to bite itself in its ass.

"Did You Feel It?" With Love From the USGS, 2010

Well, California didn't fall off in to the sea last year because of the big'un. I'm sort of sad. This means that we will have to deal with our budget nightmares. Eureka had a large earthquake, but otherwise the coast was clear as they say.

The rest of the world did have more than average amount of really big earthquakes.

The largest earthquake that the entire U.S. had was a 6.6 up in Alaska.

Last year the Globe did have a larger than average amount of earthquakes. There were 22 which registered 7.0 or higher on the Richter Scale. The average is to have 18 earthquakes per year registering 7.0 or higher. It may also have seemed like a much higher number because 2005 and 2006 brought a much lower amount of huge earthquakes. There were 11 earthquakes 7.0 or higher.

Astrowise, does this mean that: a big outer planet opposition (SAturn and Neptune) in Fixed Signs isn't an earthquakey thing (2006), but an outer planet t-square between Saturn-Uranus and Pluto is (2010). Uranus and Pluto will be squaring each other off and on for a few more years. And Jupiter-Uranus will hit Aries in March. Yee haw! And we still have to get past Monday.

Pakistan and Australia did have major floods. Indonesia and Iceland did have volcanic eruptions. And what else? Oh yeah, Arkansas has been having lots of little earthquakes, but that's happening either because of fracking or because the U.S. is detonating its Agent Orange. Who knows? The Military and Corporations in the United States are far more mysterious and dangerous than anything that Mother Nature can drum up.

The 13th Sign

Ever since the New Year started it seems that Horoscopes have been at or near the top of the Trending List on Yahoo. An Astronomy professor spoke out about the way that the Astrological Wheel isn't what Astrologers say it is. The signs come at different times. Scorpio and Sagittarius barely exist at all. They are crowded out by a 13th Sign called Opiuchus or something like that. Turns out the Babylonians wanted a nice even number so they left Opiuchus out. He's the Serpent Bearer? That's such a strong image in ancient arts it's pretty interesting that it is left out. This is one of those moments where I wish I could add images. Oh well, just take an art or history class.

Maybe that's because it's Greek and maybe the Greeks don't believe in Astrology the way the Babylonians do? I don't know. Ask a Greek. They believe in Zorba the Greek and Oozo for fixing life's wounds. Didn't Greece just declare Bankruptcy? At any rate, I haven't drunk any oozo since the time that a friend guzzled a bunch down on New Year's Eve and spent literally the entire night throwing up. Nice even numbers. Stick with the Babylonians in the Astro World at any rate. Speaking of drinking, I guess this is a leftover from the Pluto transit through Sagittarius for most Sagittarians since most Sagittarians are now finding out that they were really serpent bearers and not centaurs.

The astrologers listed on this article say that the hubbub will die down. I wish it wouldn't. We would just change everything in Astrology that doesn't work. Especially the part where we tell people that they are something and let them believe us.

Anyway, I'm sure there's a book contract in there for any astrologer who wants to get in to Pluto in Capricorn style Astrology. Oh yeah, Pluto isn't a Planet. Neither is Ceres. And Julian Assange who has a square of the two connected with Venus and isn't living a life that is perfectly described by those particular aspects.

Anyway, the parts of Astrology that I like the most aren't affected by this news anyway. I like following the cycles and the angles and the seasons. I don't like the part of astrology that forces an astrologer to sit there and ....

And I don't have a problem with thinking that there are multiple types of cycles going on at the same time. We have a choice about which ones feel right for us. We can have the Tropical. And we can have the Sidereal. And we can have 13 signs. And we can sing. And we can dance.

Of course, I think some of Life is self-will and some of Life is flying at us from absolutely out of nowhere and some of Life is payback and some people get away with murder and some people catch all the shit no matter how innocent they are.

And, wow, this article says that 1 out of 5 tattoo requests are for Astrology Signs.

Comparison: Gabrielle Giffords and Anna Lindh

In my hasty reading of Gabrielle Giffords I don't think I even noticed that Mars is squaring Uranus as well as Chiron (Uranus opposes Chiron). This square is exact to the degree and can be an indicator of accident proneness or even violence of a shocking nature. After I read other peoples' interpretations I remembered the chart of another prominent female politician in Sweden who was assassinated, Anna Lindh a while back. I remembered she had a Mars-Uranus aspect of some sort. Turns out there are a number of connections between the charts of Gabrielle Giffords and Anna Lindh.

Both women were attached during times when they had no security. I wonder if this can be somehow read in to their Mars-Uranus and Mercury-Saturn connections. Women with Mars in Cancer have to be more careful than others in this regard (my opinion).

Both are Gemini Suns.
Both have Venus and Mars in Cancer.
Giffords has Mars square Uranus. Lindh had Mars conjunct Uranus
Giffords has Mercury conjunct Saturn. Lindh had Mercury opposing Saturn.
Both have Venus out of bounds. Giffords has Mars out of bounds as well, not Lindh.

The date of Sept. 10 and Sept. 11 come up in both assasinations.

Anna Lindh was stabbed on Sept. 10 2003 and died from her wounds on Sept. 11, 2003.

Gabrielle Giffords was shot by a man who was born on Sept. 10. Much has been noted about the little 9 year old girl in the crowd who was murdered. Christina Green was born on Sept. 11, 2001.

Old Cats: Grandpa, Cream Puff and Jake Perry

There's a 39 year old cat living over in England who has surpassed the previous world records for World's Oldest Cat which was set by two cats owned by a guy named Jake Perry who lives in Austin, Texas.

Don't know what sign the World's oldest cat is, but Perry can be seen with his cats in this YouTube video and Perry's good at remembering dates related to his beasts:

I watched the video because I wanted to know what this guy feeds his cats. Venus in Virgos maybe obsess over these things. Apparently, every morning the entire household, Perry and his "flock" of cats eats bacon, eggs, broccoli, and coffee. It's kind of like they never watched a Purina commercial.

Since the oldest cat I've ever seen was 25 years old I think this is totally miraculous. Jake's cats look really healthy.

First oldest cat was a hairless Sphynx named Grandpa. Grandpa supposedly was born in 1964 in France and lived to be 3_ years old. Obviously, the Uranus and Pluto passage into Virgo has got to have something to do with this. Virgos have good bones. That's why they become Fashion Models. Maybe bone structure helps to balance the inner organs for maximum function or something. I think Virgos also have long lives but can't back that up with any specific examples. It's just a practical sign. Virgo also rules Amazing Household Pets.

Grandpa died in Jake's lap on April 1, 1998 at 3:30 am. He set the record for World's Oldest Cat.

Then along came Creme Puff. Creme Puff lived to be 38 years old and 3 days. Funny how it works out that he's a Leo born during the Summer of Love. He died just after his 38th Solar Return. He just loved being a Cat, that's for sure.

The Birth of the Global Elite

While reading an article about how people don't really read anything in depth anymore I sort of glanced through an interesting article in The Atlantic Monthly this morning. And I didn't really read the article in depth. I just noticed that it looked really, really interesting, talking about how there's this subset of hyper rich people who live on an international level and don't have much to do with the rest of us, except maybe give to charity and stuff. Hey, it's Sunday and this is about as religious as I can get it.

The article is called "The Rise of the Global Elite" by Chrystina Freeland (did I get her name right?). It's about the "Plutocratic Elite." Right there we see the Astrobabble burbling up. Plutocratic Elite? Pluto in Sagittarius and Capricorn? Top of the heap? Don't leap? (Sorry that last one rhymed so I just stuck it in).

Freeland says that this new age of young super rich and well educated kids (and their prostitutes, don't forget the hookers) who exist on an International level began when a company called Blackstone (Black=Saturn+Pluto?) equity went public with an offering on June 21, 2007. The owners were able to become Billionaires pretty much instantly. There was also a book signing on that day at somebody's private home about a book which talks about and sort of describes this crowd of super wealthy people. The book was written by some rich guy's daughter who is also rich herself. It's about Rich Mothers or something which I don't understand. Since I only glanced over the article I can't say any more than that. Go buy the magazine. It just makes sense since the Sun was right over the Gemini/Cancer cusp on the Aries Point. Cancer rules Moms and Homes and also Long Distance overseas travels (even rich homes) and the Aries Point is said to bring celebrity of whatever type. Cyberspace, or Your Place? (not clever, but rhymes).

And, this Sun at 30 Gemini is also opposing Pluto 28 Sagittarius Rx, the planet of Power hungriness and hey, dude, act charming and friendly and let's go to that hot new club that nobody else can get in to. Pluto is hovering back and forth over the Galactic Center doing its thing on the spot that is supposed to again get triggered somehow in the 2012 debacle, only with the Earth energy rather than the Pluto energy. (Neptune and Uranus were at this spot in the late 1980s).

The Global Aspect of the situation is pretty clear through the middle and outer planets' connections in the chart.

Jupiter, sign of International Relations and Travel, is in its own sign of Sagittarius. It is trining Saturn in Leo - Social connection connected with the Royalty thing. And it is accompanied by Pluto in Sagittarius and as I said Pluto is all about Power and is opposing the Sun which is also about Power. The Power and Fame Game. (I rhymed again).

Also, Uranus is conjunct the Pisces North Node. The Global Connection of wealth made possible by Technology and Science. Uranus and Neptune are in their long term mutual reception. In the chart, this is mirrored on a personal basic by a Moon-Mercury mutual reception.

Saturn 22 Leo is conjunct Venus (money, luxury) and opposing Neptune 22 Aquarius Rx. This isn't really about Sex as much as it is about prestige and personal comfort. Neptune is conjunct Chiron, so that's maybe a clinker, maybe not. These folks might feel twinges of guilt over their situation. (Twinges). They probably can look down from the windows of their personal jets and tell you all about who's starving and raping and pillaging where and how much they have given and will give and maybe will even do a meet n' greet next July after that big merger wraps up.

Mercury is Retrograde in this chart at 11 Cancer. Something about self protection here? Conservative, family values and traditions despite the international thing? Mercury will remain Rx by progression until around 2025 so this generation will certainly enjoy itself. This is a generation which is seeding a whole new set of somethings. Mercury is trining the North node but is unaspected to other planets which gives a sort of isolationist aspect and gives it yet more prominence. I can't say what it will mean. They might collect villages the way I collect yarn balls. It's a Gemini/Cancer thing, to collect.

Oh, and Mars and Jupiter are in their own signs. That's playful. That's firey. Jupiter and Neptune are in accidental dignity. but there are no planets in detriment or Fall. More Blessings. Kind of a set of Fairy Godmother aspects.

Gabrielle Giffords Shooting

Congresswoman Gabrielle Giffords of Tucson, Arizona was shot by a 22-year old man in front of a grocery store yesterday while meeting with her constituents. 19 people were injured and 6 have died as a result of the shooting. A 9-year old girl was killed as well as a well respected Judge. Giffords is alive and Doctors say she is giving good signs for recovery.

I wish Congresswoman Giffords a complete recovery and send my condolences to all the families and friends who have been victimized by this senseless act.

It's basically too early to give much of a reading, but I got curious anyway. If the birth dates I have are correct for Giffords and the shooter, Jared Lee Loughner, their basic charts show some really eerie connections.

Their Sun Signs square each other by a degree. Giffords is a Gemini Sun and Loughner is a Virgo Sun. Squares are considered challenging aspects but without the rest of the chart one can't say whether this is a bad challenge or a good one. Squares will add a lot of energy to the relation between how these two people project their Sun Energy which can mean Ego Projection, Search for spotlight, creativity. Giffords, as a Gemini Sun working in Politics is considered a moderate Democrat. Gemini's are known not to commit to one predictable path, so Giffords' sided with both gun rights law and pro-choice law. She walked two sides of the fence. I'm not sure what Loughner's problem with Giffords is exactly, but as a Virgo one can expect him to project a hyper critical stance of anyone who he feels has errors of thinking. Virgo is known for attention to detail, rather than looking at larger pictures. Both Sun Signs are ruled by the same planet, Mercury. Mercury rules aspects of cognition. In very simple terms, Gemini rules verbal communication and fine motor coordination while Virgo rules analysis of details. Both are related to the nervous system.

Another interesting connection is that both assailer and assailant share the same Nodal Axis with North Node in Pisces and South Node in Virgo. The Nodal Axis will describe Life Path and Destiny. Giffords' North Node was conjunct the ASC-Moon-Neptune-Chiron at the time of the shooting. Neptune is the Ruler of Pisces, and as such is the ruler of the entire chart and the North Nodes of both people.

The Nodal Axis is often seen (but, not always) in conjunction with the angles at the time of a significant event. Pisces is related to feelings of great empathy and sacrifice. It is also related to "losers" and "addicts." One can see how both sides of this sign which is the chart ruler is shown in this event. Loehner posted apologies asking for forgiveness before the event. That's typical of how Neptune manipulates. There's a feeling that one has to give up to chaos, and usually a projection of being a martyr of a higher purpose.

Giffords at age 40 is going through her first Neptune Square. Natal Neptune is at 30 Scorpio Rx so it is up at the top of the chart of the shooting squaring the ASC-Moon-Chiron-Neptune. As Neptune is changing signs in a few months and moving into the sign which it rules which is connected with feeling lost and hopeless and boundariless, I hope this doesn't foreshadow similar events in the future.

Loughner's Nodal Axis plays a huge role in his chart as he was born on the same day as an Annular Solar Eclipse and has both Sun and Moon conjunct his South Node. It would be interesting to see how the recent Eclipses affected these charts. Loughner has a natal conjunction of Saturn-Uranus in Sagittarius conjunct Neptune in Capricorn. This has been getting hit hard by the conjunction of Mercury-Pluto-NN and the recent Eclipse set (total Lunar on Dec. 21, something solar on Jan. 4). Loughner also has a conjunction of Lilith to the South Node.

A really interesting connection between these two are their Mars-Chiron squares which overlay each other. Giffords has natal Mars in the sign of Cancer, which is in its Fall. This is a difficult placement for Mars which is the planet that in its positive aspects gives one initiative to begin new projects. Cancer is the homebody planet which often doesn't express itself through direct behavior so there can be a problem when these two connect. Since Cancer is a receptive/reactive sign, often the initiative that one puts out will attract anger in others through indirect and emotional "vibes." (Well, i said it's problematic). On the other hand, Loehner's natal Mars is in its own sign of Aries which can give too much initiative, not enough thought to one's actions and impulse/anger control. With both in squares to their natal Chiron there can be an uncontrollable element to how the aspect plays out and together with the square aspect this can be difficult.

Loughner's Chiron 7 Cancer is conjunct Giffords' n. Mars at 5 Cancer. And, Loughner's natal Mars at 10 Aries is conjunct her Chiron at 10 Aries. Mars is connected with violence and war and impulse and rage. Loughner's natal Mars is placed very strongly in headstrong Aries. Giffords was shot in the Head (Mars/Aries) at point blank range. Chiron is an asteroid which brings in the myth of the Teacher/Healer who could fix everything except his own wounds.

The media coverage was sort of hysterical and cruel. While the shooter was aiming at Giffords other people were killed and wounded but the coverage neglected these poeple in order to force its own agenda. Immediately turned to the political climate of Arizona and concluded that illegal immigration was the main motive behind the shooting. It turns out that Loehner has big gripes against the Government overall in addition to mental disorders and addictions. The transiting chart shows Mercury in Sagittarius (communication of opinions, media) conjunct the North Node and Pluto (power) in the 10th House (Government) squares the Jupiter-Uranus in Pisces conjunction in the 1st House. This shows the inflamed and exaggerated coverage by the media and also brings up the discussion of how the hysteria created by media can affect people who are emotionally and mentally vulnerable.

The "Aflockalypse": Solstice,Eclipse, Mars, Pluto and the North Node

Since New Year's Eve flocks of birds have been dying all across the globe. Scientists say it's a natural occurrence. Conspiracy theorists sound more convincing than ever about what kinds of dark plots are behind the die offs. The Government is saying nothing.

The first set of birds to die off was a flock of about 3,000 red winged black birds in Beebe, Arkansas. They were found lying all over the ground just a day before thousands of fish turned up dead along the shores of a river about 20 miles??? away. The first set of birds is said to have died from bleeding due to internal caused by blunt force. Toxicology tests won't be out on the fish for a month. Was it caused by supersonic warfare games? The Air Force has a laboratory at the University of Arkansas. Was it caused by fracking? Someone on the Astro.com forum posted an article about how the amount of earthquakes related to "fracking" has increased in Arkansas by a huge amount over the year 2010.

I sort of wonder if this isn't related to the intensity of the recent Total Lunar Eclipse which also occurred within 12 hours of the Winter Solstice. Maybe even more important would be the conjunction of Mars and Pluto to the Sun and North Node in Capricorn. Pluto represents Death and Killings and Mass Killings, Mars represents Violence especially in combination with the Moon and Sun. There are strong Pisces influences in the charts which can show the end of the World vibe that people are relating to this: Neptune conjunct Chiron in Aquarius and Jupiter conjunct Uranus in Pisces. The sign of Capricorn might indicate Government or Corporate Involvement, or just Men With Serious God Complexes. Maybe it's just the Swiss needing to adjust the Axis of the Earth in order to keep their watches ticking perfectly. Perhaps the Frackers figure they better hurry up before someone catches on to their act as well? Either way, Fracking is both violent and gives off noxious gases. There's a great documentary out there showing how toxic this is.

In Dec. 21, 2007 a flock of Purple Martins fell on to the streets of New York City. That just happens to be the Winter Solstice which seems related to the current event. There was no Mars-Pluto aspect on that day. Mars was in conjunction with Venus in Pluto's sign, however at 14-15 Scorpio. Pluto 18 Sagittarius and Sun 30 Sagittarius were opposing Saturn 26 Gemini.

The Most Recent Eclipse before this event would have been a Partial Solar Eclipse which occurred on Setp. 11, 2007. It does have a Mars-Pluto-Sun-Moon-NN connection. This was a New Moon (Sun-Moon conjunction) at 19 Virgo which was in a Grand Square to Mars 22 Gemini opposing Pluto 27 Sagittarius.

I hope to come back to this at some point to look for more charts of die offs.

For conspiracy theory comparisons there is something called the Dugway Sheep Kill Incident in which 6,249 Sheep were found murdered in Skull Valley. Mars (War) was in Aries conjunct the North Node and Saturn in Aries. Uranus and Pluto were in conjunction in Virgo opposing Sun-Chiron in Pisces. All kinds of tests were done on the sheep. These are good charts to use for comparison in trying to understand if the military were involved.

The Jupiter-Uranus conjunction

Saturn and Pluto are now out of orb of the challenging t-square to Jupiter and Uranus. So now we can see what this big conjunction is all about. Jupiter and Uranus have been hanging out together for a long time over the most important spot of the Astrological Wheel, the Pisces-Aries cusp.

These planets rule the signs which are next to Capricorn on the Astrological Wheel. That is, Jupiter rules Sagittarius and Uranus rules Aquarius. They are often considered the planets which show mankind working together at his highest achievement. Actually the best would be Capricorn but since Capricorn is the sign at the top of the chart it sort of has a problem with guilt and karma which makes Astrologers not want to talk about it. But, Astrologers often have a lot of bias and subjectivity, that's why the scientists hate Astrologers. And that's why the Wheel rolls round and round.

What I realized is that while looking at the current Solstice chart which has Jupiter-Uranus in the 9th House I didn't say that this could show a lot of innovation and progress in the Aeronautics industry. And then I heard on a radio show that NASA may get together to have a major conference on their recent discoveries in searching for planets outside our solar system which may promote life as we know it. They've already found some creepy bug out in the California boondocks that thrives off of arsenic. And with these two planets, which together rule Aviation, passing over the point of the Wheel which rules the spark of life, wouldn't that just be so cool?

At any rate, that conjunction is a major part of what the first part of this year is about. I looked up an astrology website which discusses the Retrogrades of 2011 and can't remember the one I saw which pointed out that the Mercury Retrogrades this year happen in (mostly) Fire signs. Last year they were in Earth Signs. Boy, something was wrong, wasn't it? This year started on a Mercury REtrograde in Sagittarius.

Venus and Mars don't make and Retrogrades this year. So many bad things happened last year but it seemed that often they were balanced out by the work of very capable people. We've had some real heros. I've also been getting harassed almost compulsively by my amigos folks who don't enter countries legally types. It turns out that if someone puts garlic in your gas tank it turns the Check Engine Light off. Boy, I feel like doing an art project where I just hang all kind of locks out on a tree and let these assholes practice picking them. Maybe they'll leave my shit alone (only kidding, they enjoy laughing at you while they hurt you).

Last degrees of Pisces/1st degrees of Aries. Where's that spot in my chart? 10th House? Hahaha. Oh well, this prediction project doesn't work. Forget I ever said anything.

Jerry Brown - Governor of Christmas Past and Christmas Present

Is Jerry Brown a Buddhist or a Jesuit? I can't remember. Was just wondering whether or not he even celebrates Christmas as the title of this post suggests.

Brown is once again Governor of the Late Great State of California. Yayyy! Will sure be interesting to see how the interpretations of his chart change among the old hippie generation. Brown was called Governor Moonbeam during his first run. His weirdness as a "leader" earned him that name because he didn't live in the Governor's mansion and he drove something like an old Pinto around. And he dated pop singer Linda Ronstadt. He probably even wore sideburns and a wide psychedelic tie. What Steve Jobs did for Computers (and for California), that's what Jerry Brown did for California.

Brown's got a natal conjunction of Sun 18 Aries to Saturn 10 Aries. The Sun/Aries/Saturn combination is meant to lead.

Pretty interesting that his Saturn has progressed to 17 Degrees Aries so is one degree away from his natal Sun. They are super close right now. They are also in close conjunction with California's "natal" Saturn which is at 20 Aries Rx. As Saturn rules Old Age it's interesting to look at his progressed Saturn with regard to the age element of his leadership. He became California's youngest ruling Governor and is now returning as the state's oldest Governor. I'll have to make him some angora fingerless mittens. That's supposedly an old folk remedy for arthritis. Angora is the warmest fur. Maybe I'll just send him an actual rabbit to hold. The fur would molt all over his clothes and with Moon in Cancer he's probably got allergies.

California's also got a conjunction to the degree of Uranus to Pluto at 30 Aries so when the Uranus Return occurs in 7 years or so California should see a major shift of some sort. Jupiter will pass over it this year. Saturn will pass over it soon after. And that should help understand how the societal structure will develop. Jupiter-Saturnians are planners/builders.

So, whatever Saturn in Aries means to you, that's what it's gonna mean to Californians right now. Especially since Jupiter and Uranus are both passing into Aries pretty soon.

The Mercury Retrogrades for 2011 will for the most part be in fire signs so there will be some opportunities for getting our mojo back. Fire is enthusiastic and gives the creative spark to get things kick started. Hopefully there won't be any violence. Hopefully his Scorpio NN won't kick in. It's squaring natal Jupiter in Aquarius, which stands out in his chart (lead planet of locomtive chart, singleton Air). And his North Node also trines natal Pluto in Cancer.

Brown has Sun-Saturn conjunction in Aries in his 9th House of philosophy, religion, law, ethics. Interesting that his Sun is squaring his natal Moon in Cancer which is in his 12th House. That's very psychic and spiritual. His Moon 21 Cancer is in conjunction to his natal Pluto 28 Cancer. So, his natal Sun squares his natal Moon from H9 to H12. But natal Saturn and Pluto are in the same signs and houses but aren't in a square with each other. Can't really explain how, but I suppose this inner/outer combination might describe in some way the fact that Brown was the youngest Governor of California and now will be the oldest Governor. He was leading the Pluto in Geminis and Cancers and Leos (the hippies at least). Now he will be leading the Pluto in Leo, Virgo, Libra and Scorpios. At any rate, he's the only Democrat my Father ever voted for because he represented innovation and problem solving.

California was born of a compromise called "the Compromise of 1850." I forgot to read about it.
