Sunday's Gemini Solar Eclipse panned out nicely with this story.  Gemini rules little kids, neighbors, communications, cars, trucks and trikes.  A 3-year old decided to hop on his tricycle and ride through a busy intersection in a North Eastern City in China on Monday afternoon.  (May 23, 2012).  The video shows him making it all the way through before a police officer rescued him.

This Eclipse was in conjunction with Jupiter (Luck) and Mercury (Trikes and busy intersections). This doubles the Mercury and Jupiter energy.

A 3-year old has just completed cycles of all his inner planets (Moon, Mercury, Sun, Venus, Mars) and is going through the first square of Transiting Jupiter to his natal Jupiter.  This is a time of rapid increase of vocabulary and breaking through boundaries, adventure seeking, and testing one's lucky stars. I wonder how Jupiter is placed in this kid's natal chart.  He could star in his own Pink Panther movies.

At What Age Are You Happiest? At What Age Are You Wealthiest?

A study from out of the u.k. Says that people are happiest at age 33. The Sun in your Solar Return chart is said to begin a new cycle at this age because it returns to the same house it was in when you were born. So, perhaps this is the year when you are reborn? Kind of an interesting thought Christianity wise. Jesus was 33 when he was killed, and risen. However you say it. I'm appreciating Christianity more these days. It seems to have taken some of the best of Greek thought and tried to bring it to the people. Sometimes works, sometimes not.

Here's the article. On iPad so can't figure the links.

http://news.yahoo.com/blogs/sideshow/thirty-three-happiest-age-says-study-193446415.html

Also.

Financial disaster prophet, Henry S. Dent, supplies a bunch of different statistics about ones age. He says that most people are the wealthiest they will ever be at age 48. This is at or right after a person's 4th Jupiter Return.

Babies: Fairness and Sharing

Yahoo has published a cool article called "Kids May Develop a Sense of Fairness Earlier Than Thought."

The reason why I'm fascinated by this study is because it hooks up so well in my research matching stages of Child Development and the First Planetary Cycles in a child's life.

The researchers found that 15-month old babies can tell the difference between equal and unequal portions of food. Anything involving understanding equality and portions relates directly to Venus.

This sort of matches up with the first Venus cycle which will happen in most children within 2 months before or after the first Solar Return or Birthday (10 months to 14 months).

I equate the time between the first Venus Return and the first Mars Return, which usually occurs just before the second Birthday, as the time when a child develops the qualities of his natal Venus because he has just completed a complete cycle of that planet in his chart. (He has also just completed a complete cycle of Mercury and Sun so it gets more complicated).

Venus is related to connecting with material objects through its rulership of the sign Taurus and connecting with other people through its rulership of the sign Libra. Libra is related to harmony, portion, balance, sense of "the other" as in all one on one relationships. Taurus is related to connecting with objects in early childhood. We develop our cognitive abilities (Mercury, Gemini, Virgo) by remembering familiar objects in our environment.

The Sun's influence could also be involved here as the Sun rules our generosity.

The study developed theories about how early our sense of fairness and altruism develop. But it also studied how early babies develop the ability or desire to share what they have. I always figured this type of thing is shown ultimately in the chart by Neptune which is considered the higher octave of Venus.

I've seen in my research that the traditional rulership of Jupiter which includes both the influences of Sagittarius and Pisces as showing up pretty clearly. The first Jupiter transit cycles (square, trine, opposition) sort of double as ruled by Neptune as well. Things related to Sagittarius, such as very quick learning of vocabulary, sense of ethics, rules, and development of friendships outside the inner boundaries of family develop at this point. But, also very Neptunian hings like wanting to be a fairy princess, imagination, having imaginary friends, understanding the concept of secrecy, often show up around the time of the first Jupiter Square (Age3) and Jupiter trine(Age 4).

The study also observed whether or not babies share at this age. I suppose that's connected with Venus and the Sun and possibly Mercury. Supposedly 1/3 of the babies shared their favorite items willingly. 1/3 of the babies shared their least favorite items. And 1/3 wouldn't share at all. I suppose we'd need to know where Pluto was placed in the babies' charts. If it was in Capricorn I'd expect to see less desire to share. Both Pluto and Capricorn represent the parts of ourselves which do not like to share.

Juno

NASA did a funny thing with the orbiter it just sent off to visit Jupiter today. NASA called the orbiter Juno. In Greek Mythology, Jupiter is called Zeus. Zeus is the King of the Greek Pantheon and he is married to Juno. And Juno reigns as Queen and she's happy about that but in humorous circles she is known as the Jealous wife because Jupiter/Zeus, uh, is a bit of a philanderer.

The chart for the launch is pretty funny. Libra, sign that rules Marriage, is on the Ascendant so Venus rules the chart. She is conjunct the Sun in Leo up in the 10th House. This shows Social Status of the Ruling Class.

And then there's the jealous Moon (woman) in Scorpio in the 1st house opposing Jupiter in the 7th House of Marriage. Oppositions often show relationships as they represent opposite ends of the same pole. They just as often show balancing acts and the need to harmonize.

Mars is at 1 Cancer. I guess you could say that this will be a story of household discord.

Juno the Orbiter will reach Jupiter's orbit in July 2016 and will circle around him 33 times. She can't actually land on him because he's a big ball of gases (and she'd be the first to tell you that). After her orbits Juno will crash into Jupiter in October 2017.

You can read about what Juno will really be doing to Jupiter in scientific terms here:

Scientists find link between Parkfield Earthquake Series and Sun/Moon Alignment

Yeah, baby, the Scientists are coming round to our way of thinking way more than I could ever have imagined. An article published in Science apparently says that the alignment of the Sun and Moon causes the water underground to rise and fall just the way it affects the tides. That's my take on it and I could easily have misunderstood what I was reading. Article from Sfgate.com is here. (and down below if I didn't type the link in right).

Since the strongest effects were seen when the pull of the moon and the sun was aligned with the direction of the fault's break (Los Angeles toward San Francisco in the case of the San Andreas Fault), the researchers reasoned that water trapped deep underground was the likely explanation for the tremors, lubricating the rock to make it move easier.

The tremors so far have only been found in a relatively small number of fault zones, suggesting that underground water isn't found everywhere.

If the tremors have an effect on the earthquake zone closer to the surface, it's hard to find, Bürgmann said.

They are finding this is only true in the case of the Parkfield Earthquakes which are a series of earthquakes that occurs very roughly on a 20 year cycle in Parkfield, California. I wonder if they are finding this is associated more with times of expansion (Jupiter) or contraction (SAturn).

I've written about this series before and found that Jupiter seems to be a constant in these earthquakes. As a matter of fact I was just thinking about this last night. Jupiter is in Cardinal Signs in 100 percent of the Parkfield Earthquakes. That's a pretty substantial finding. I mean it's not great. It doesn't give an exact date or anything. But, I suspect the reason for that is that Jupiter is the big communicator link between Man and Nature. Just listen to double Sagg Beethoven's music and you'll understand what I mean immediately. At any rate, Jupiter seems to be a very prominent presence in the earthquakes that humans study. It was on the Descendant during the Earthquake that was successfully predicted back in the 1970s in China. There was that earthquake in Italy just this past year which was successfully predicted. Nobody believed the Scientist who predicted it anyway. Can't remember, but I don't think I found a big Jupiter link in that one. Should go back and check.

But, as far as Parkfield Earthquakes go. It doesn't seem timewise like this series is due, but it sure does look like we're moving into scary astrology. Jupiter will be moving into Pisces on Jan. 17-18, 2010. Pisces isn't a Cardinal Sign and usually Jupiter spends about a year in one sign, but this time it's moving pretty fast and first hits Aries in June, 2010. Jupiter will move into Aries then which is a Cardinal Sign. This would be an optimal time for a big earthquake somewhere because Jupiter will be in conjunction with Uranus and in the sign ruled by Mars. These two will transit together forward in Aries for a couple of degrees and then backward together into Pisces. It's totally freaky. Uranus rules shock, sudden events, shaking, rattling, rolling, things that can't be predicted. To make sure that nothing good happens, except maybe an alien invasion, Pluto will be in conjunction with the North Node in Capricorn and Saturn will be squaring/opposing. This is the big t-square in the sky. My Federal Reserve Chairman Boyfriend will finally admit that the economy is fucked. Somebody needs to put a suicide watch out on Geitner. This was one hell of a career move he made.

I'm personally ready for the poles of the earth to shift myself. Jupiter will move very fast this coming Spring and will enter Aries on June 5-6. That's at 1 Aries which is an Aries Point. The Moon will hit them as well and they will be squaring Pluto.

The Upcoming Eclipses in June-July 2010 are looking really bad. The Partial Lunar Eclipse on June 26, 2010 will feature a Grand Square of the Full Moon with a conjunction of Moon to Pluto and the North Node in Capricorn opposing Sun-Mercury in Cancer. This squares Jupiter-Uranus in Aries opposing Saturn at 30 Virgo. Bad Sign that Saturn is in an Earth Sign within a degree of the Aries Point. Mars will be at 11 Virgo trining Moon-NN. No squares for Mars. He may let loose unchecked?

I seem to remember that I was fearing January, 2011 for a big earthquake. Can't remember exactly why I was putting it off until that moment. Maybe I was expecting some huge cybercrime thing early on followed by an errant H-Bomb dropping. Then the earth would just say Fuck It and take us all down in one big gulp. Since the Poles are melting it sure does look like they're going to start flailing.

Partial Lunar Eclipse (Full Moon)
June 26, 2010 6:30 am EST New York, NY

Total Solar Eclipse (New Moon)
July 11, 2010 2:40pm EST, New York, NY

Total Lunar Eclipse (Full Moon)
Dec. 21, 2010 3:13 am EST New York, NY

(These times for these Eclipses are set for New York. They may not be accurate because I haven't updated my Solar Fire program in a while.)

The Eclipse energy is really going to hammer this Grand Square in because this Lunar Eclipse will be followed by a Total Solar Eclipse (New Moon) in July (July 11, 2010, 2:40 pm EST, New York, NY) which also features a Grand Square.

And then this set will be followed by a Total Lunar Eclipse on (Dec. 21, 2010 3:13 am EST New York, NY). Jupiter and Uranus will have retrograded back into Pisces at this point but will still be squaring the Full Moon/Eclipse. They will be traveling for a long time in pretty tight conjunction. This chart still has the Pluto conjunction to the North Node which is always bad news for absolutely everything. And Mars will be in conjunction. This will be a wet one,. maybe tsunami/floods?. Neptune-Chiron is trining the Full Moon.

I've said before that often Earthquakes seem to happen in the spaces between Eclipse sets. That sets up October for something bad as far as Northern California/Oregon coast goes because Libra/Aries are typically earthquake season for these areas. Cancer/Capricorn tend to be earthquake season for Southern California.

Mars' placement is sort of curious. You expect him to be strongly involved but he's sort of hovering out of the way from the t-square. Mars like his indepedence so that might be a good thing for him, pacifatory-if-you-will. Either that or he is given too much free reign and just has non-stops tantrums in Leo for the next 6 months. He is doing one of his long Rx's through Leo. He will station direct around Mar 10 at 1 Leo. He'll be opposing the Moon so watch your heart on that date is you've got Sun at mid degrees Fixed. Mars goes into Virgo beginning of June, I think it was the 6th. That's an earth sign. That's going to be one bad transit for me, personally, that's all I can say. So I'll stop here.

Oh, well, Mars just SRx on Dec. 21 at 20 Leo. He will return to that particular spot again on May 17-18-19. We'll see if that means anything. On July 30, 2010, Mars will be in conjunction with Saturn at 1 Libra and opposing the Moon-Pluto-NN and squaring Jupiter-Uranus. That's ugly. The Sun will be at 17 Leo which is close to the Mars Station Point.

"We Did This For the Show"

God damned kids. They're always blurting out the truth at all the wrong times.

This week's big news story, and who knows why, is the Balloon Boy story. A family in Fort Collins, CO called the Fire Brigade to come rescue their son who they said they thought had crawled into a home-made balloon. Turns out the kid was hiding in the house the whole time. And the Father called the Media and NASA before he actually called the Fire Brigade for real help. And the little boy started having major barfing sessions during the media blitz of interviews after the show. Wonder if he was a Virgo. My Mother always said she could tell when my brother was lying because he would throw up because Virgos have weak stomachs (turns out he's lactose intolerant).

Anyway, this kid, Falcon, doesn't have what it takes to be a media star. He ended up telling the Cameras that he hid in the attic for 5 hours "for the show." He's so hyperactive, I don't know how he sat anywhere for 5 hours. They could do a whole show on hyperactive kids and the neurotic parents who raise them from watching this family being interviewed. I can just see my Mother now: "Look at that...Out of the mouths of Babes.....they're lying out their asses...did you see that kid throw up?....you know your brother...."

I guess the parents are now being charged with all kinds of counts related to the fact that they were using the helicopters and the State Troopers and the TV stations for a publicity stunt. Come on, give em a break. The economy is bad. It looks like they're unemployed and unemployable, this is job security for the media who's too stupid to give decent reporting about the economy, and nobody else in the world has this much gall (or imagination).

Can't find the parents' birth dates which is totally traumatizing. Idiot Father Richard Heene is born around 1961. Idiot Mother is born in 1964. Marriage was on Oct. 12, 1997 in Clark County, Nevada (source I think was About.com).

Well, the marriage has a conjunction of Jupiter to Uranus in Aquarius. They were trying to take advantage of their Marital Jupiter Return, I suppose. Sometimes Jupiter makes you lucky, sometimes it makes you go way over the top. In Aquarius, I suppose you should just some interesting turns of event.

This is good for my otherwise useless Astrological predictions. Remember that I'm the one who called this Jupiter-Chiron-Neptune conjunction the "big dirigible in the sky." Did you see the footage of that homemade balloon whaling through the air? Dirigibles explode, baby. Not the greatest method of transport.

This marriage is a Sun in Libra which is great as Libra rules Marriage. But probably not so hot when Sun is opposing Saturn in Aries which is in its Fall and Retrograde which means that not following rules leads to getting caught. Saturn doesn't let you off the hook the way Jupiter does. Also, a really incredible Venus-Mars-Pluto conjunction in Sagittarius that squares the Nodal Axis. This family has to do things "their way." Frank Sinatra exhibited the Sadge spirit.

Now, let's hope that the economy doesn't take off on a similar helium hot air escapade.

Today's Mercury and Me and Ben Bernanke and His Competition

Too many NPR Driveway Moments these days as I try to avoid confronting absolutely everything in my life. Mercury is right on my North Node in Libra and Pluto is squaring it while sitting on my 7th House Saturn.

First Mercury was squaring Mars and opposing Pluto. Next week Mercury goes Retro. Right now Mercury's in a Thor's Hammer configuration with Mars and Jupiter. Don't know really what Thor's Hammer means. The interpretations for Thors Hammers are all pretty vague just like interpretations for all the other vague planet formations (except for Yods which Karen Hamaker Zondag cleared up nicely in her book). Mercury-Mars-Jupiter working together in a difficult way could certainly indicate an overload of stress, competition, shouting matches. They are linking up the signs of Cancer, Libra and Aquarius. Mars is probably most prominent because he's in his Fall, throwing tantrums and neither Mercury nor Jupiter is going to know what to do with all this excess emotional baggage. Mercury and Jupiter aren't exactly the most caring planets in the world so they will just be making Mars' situation all that much worse.

Thor's Hammer is the aspect that's a bigger, meaner triangle thingee than a Yod. A Yod at least has a sextile. One of the aspects a Thor's Hammer contains is a square between two planets. These planets are both linked to a third planet by sesquisquares or 3 half squares or 3 tri-octiles (135 degree aspect, whatever it's called). Whatever you want to call them, they belong to the same family as the square, just more subtle. The interpretation that I did read which I liked (can't remember the source, crap) said that this can present a turning point of some kind caused by an inability to make a decision or choice. Either the planets in the square are relying on the 3d planet for a resolve, or things come to a head to a point where one is pushed down the fork in the road in whatever direction. Remember a long time ago, I said that both Hillary Clinton and what's his name, the guy with the shiny hair, John Edwards, have the natal Thor's Hammers. Either way, count on things not really going your way. And right now that certainly would apply to me as well as I eagerly panick over which fork in the road I will have to take.

So, Thor is hammering away in the sky. Thank God these minor aspects have small orbs so the transits don't last long. Jupiter is bouncing around over my Midheaven and I'm pretty sure I've burned more bridges than the state has rivers at this point. I don't have positive Jupiter transits pretty much without exception. This one is just making me want to eat a lot and get fat and I can't sleep and there's brown goo coming out of the bathroom faucets that smells sometimes like cookies and sometimes like barbeque and sometimes like Sweet and Sour Pork. I am hungry all the time which means blood sugar issues.

So, what was this going to be about? Oh yeah. NPR Driveway moment. The damn idiots on NPR were babbling about the financial markets again and were sort of getting catty about my Magic Federal Reserve Chairman Boyfriend Ben Bernanke's reappointment to the Chair of said Reserve. They said that Obama's pick, Lawrence Sumners, was more qualified than My Boyfriend for the Post but he (Lawrence) has a bad personality and upsets people so Ben was better for the job (even though he's a Republican and owns Philip Morris).

Ben has a soothing personality. Boy, does he ever. (Remember the days of weirdo Alan? Market goes up. Market goes down. Market goes up. Market goes down. I hated Disneyland when I was a kid and I don't like Disneyland now.)

So, they (NPR) said that Lawrence is a better pick because he saw it coming. Ben didn't. How could Ben not have seen it coming? He's been studying the Great Depression all of his adult life.

Anyway, I wanted to compare Larry's chart with Ben's chart to see what's the difference between a good personality and a bad personality. I figured Lar was going to get all Saturn-Pluto on us.

Lawrence Sumners
b. Nov. 30, 1954 Philadelphia, Pennsylvania (not sure about the place)

Sun 8 Sagittarius; Moon Capricorn or Aquairus; NN 8 Capricorn

Ben Bernanke
b. Dec. 13, 1953 Augusta, Georgia

So, Sagittarrians born at opposite ends of the year of each other. Same North Node in Capricorn, same Saturn in Scorpio. Seriously serious stuff. (Remember Alan? He was fun. He was all into Ayn Rand, those were the days when people bought that shit.).

So what we have here is Cute Sadge v. BlabberHead Sadge. Actually, Sumners is butt-ugly but he likely has Moon in Capricorn and I've been told by some nasty astrologer that we don't age well. (Think Cindy Sheehan).

See, the problem with Sumners' personality (that I know about) is that he's the guy who spoke to a crowd at Harvard in 1995 and announced to the entire crowd that women aren't successful, truly guys, women are dumb, bottom line. Moon in Capricorns can be awful women haters, I know because I am. An engineering scholar and college dean and woman had to stand up in front of the crowd and chew him out. She was the Great and Wonderful Denise Denton of Oz (Virgo Sun). Probably all the other women in the room were cowering in the corner saying nothing because, after all, only ass-kissers can break the glass ceiling.

At any rate, the woman who stood up to the BlabberHead Sadge Sumners was Denise Denton. I wrote about her tragic death. She committed Suicide in 2006. She is the inspiration for my research on astrology of Children of Divorce so, needless to say, I like her very much and am not fond at all of BlabberHead Sadge Sumners. Plus, I have a major Federal Reserve Bank crush on Ben Bernanke. Who doesn't? How the hell else are we going to get through the next 10 years if we don't have a crush on the guy?

So what if Sumners saw the Crash coming? He sucks. Anyway, the entire astrological community saw it coming. The Bush administration saw it coming, that's why they picked Ben the Scholar Expert guy (well, it helped that he's a Republican). That's why they post-poned notifying NPR and other media about the crash until a year after it was already in the works.

So, let's look at Ben's Moon. It's in Pisces. It might be the handle of a Bucket chart, don't know because don't have a birth time. But Moon in Pisces, yeah, he may not have seen it coming, but then again, he probably doesn't see it lasting for as long as it probably will last. That means he's an optimist. Basically, he's a Happy Go Lucky Sadge with Sun opposing Jupiter and he makes other people feel happy go lucky as well. And Mercury and Venus are in conjunction in Sagittarius so he's all, man, he's bad with money, holes in his pockets. Have you seen how much the country is in the hole? Anyway, we couldn't care less. We've got Ben and Ben has pizazz. Mars conjunct Neptune in Libra that trines Jupiter in Gemini. Just don't have a heart attack Ben or we'll be stuck with Larry and Larry, well, Larry hates women. (I don't like women either, most of them at any rate).

Interesting to see the Innie/Outie combinations between the two. Larry the Sadge has Mercury & Venus conjunct Saturn in Scorpio. And Ben the Sadge has Mars conjunct Saturn from Libra to Scorpio. Both have that amazing Mercury-Venus conjunction in their charts that indicates is often associated with big Stock Market losses.

So, this post has pretty much gone nowhere. How many people have I insulted? I'll never make good of my Libra North Node at this rate.

Traffic Congestion

An interview on NPR yesterday morning with a guy who wrote a whole book on Traffic. The guy says that the worst time for Traffic is at 1:00 pm on Saturdays. Where are his statistics from and what does he consider bad traffic, I don't know. But the Astrology here is interesting. In many locations the Sun will have just passed over the Midheaven and will be passing through the 9th House. 9th house rules long distance travel while the 3d house rules short distance travel.

The 3d House is the one you want to look at if you're concerned about anything that goes putt-putt. But, Jupiter and Sagittarius and the 9th House also rule travel and they work through expansion and the axes seem to often play a back and forth thing with each other when something they rule goes out of whack.

In a weird kind of way it makes sense that too many people would be wanting to get somewhere just after noon on Saturdays. Maybe it works best on a Week-end, and not at Rush Hour, because Jupiter also likes to come to the fore in order to have Fun. People are hung over, they've slept late, they are feeling optimistic about how much they can get done on the week-end. All Jupiter.

Jupiter's much more related to leisure than to work. That's why so many Lawyers, College Professors, Ministers and Popes go through so many years of schooling -- so that they don't have to scrub toilets.

Typical Work-Day traffic jams, going and coming from work happen probably while the Sun is in the Axis that squares the 3d-9th Houses. What I've always wondered is why the Traffic Jams happen in the afternoon starting at 4:00 pm when people don't get off work until 5:00 or 6:00 pm. Hmmmm...... What's the Astrology for making excuses and for dumping your work load on others?

Jupiter Hit By UFO!!!

No, this isn't a National Enquirer headline. Something really did hit Jupiter and NASA snapped a photo. How's that for a literal interpretation of the Jupiter-Neptune conjunction in Aquarius?

Neptune rules photography, Aquarius rules Technology and Outer Space. And there's even another reference that dates back to events in 1994 (see yesterday's blog entry) so Capricorn is somehow involved. That's when a Comet slammed into Jupiter. I'm jealous. What was that other comet's name? Forgot. Oh well.

Apparently an amateur photographer saw the collision first and then NASA caught the photo on Monday morning at some point (I think the collision date is 7/19-20/09 but am not real sure). Ouch! Yahoo article here.

That's the 40 year anniversary for the U.S. landing on the moon, maybe even a Saturn-Uranus-Pluto in Virgo/Pisces cycle is involved.

Wonder what the Astrology would look like from Jupiter's point of view. I think he has a bunch of Moons of his own so our little Eclipses here on Earth aren't to blame for his woes. He's just too big and too gravitational. Oooh, this is reminding me of my Magic Federal Reserve Chairman Ben the Jupiterienne. Don't ever let this economy get better, Ben. I can't live without your cute face plastered all over the media.

What was I talking about? Oh, forget it.

Redux, West Coast's Biggest Recorded Earthquakes

After finding what I think were some really striking commonalities between the earthquakes that occur in Parkfield, California (Parkfield Earthquake Series blog), I'm taking a second look at the biggest of the Earthquakes to hit the West Coast and am finding some interesting similarities there as well.

It's looking like we're heading into a period where the chances are much morely likely by Astrological terms to have an earthquake in California, a big one. The Saturn-Uranus-Pluto t-square is not necessarily an indicator of a huge earthquake the way I first suspected. Jupiter and Neptune have a big hand in when these things happen. Although some earthquakes seem to happen in relation to an Eclipse it doesn't seem to be a very regular thing. My Eclipse reading skills are barbaric so I can't say anything one way or another about that. I'm looking at event charts for big earthquakes that have hit the West Coast. This means that I'm assuming that different localities have earthquakes according to different transits.

What continues to come up in the charts of Earthquakes with freakish regularity is the presence of Jupiter in Cardinal Signs. The big earthquake down in Chile, 9.5, (May 22, 1960) even had a Jupiter in Capricorn! I've looked ahead at the "Large" size earthquakes of California and have found Jupiter in Cardinal about half of the time and if it's not in Cardinal then it will be angular in the chart (and most likely in the earth sign of Virgo).

As a matter of fact both of the biggest earthquakes, the Fort Tejon Earthquake of 1857 and the Cascadia Earthquake of 1700, have a prominence of outer planets in Cardinal Signs. So this immediately makes the time between June 2010 and June 2011 look mighty scary. Saturn will be in Libra, Jupiter will be in conjunction with Uranus in Aries, then they will sort of retrograde back into Pisces and then move forward together back into Aries. That would be between June 7, 2010 and June 5, 2011 with a Retrograde Period back into Pisces (conjunct Uranus Rx the whole time) between Sept. 10, 2010 and Jan. 23, 2011. Jupiter is in a Cardinal Sign for about a year every three years so this may not be the time. Uranus stays in a sign for about 7 years.

Saturn will enter Libra on Oct. 30, 2009, will Rx back into Virgo Apr. 8, 2010 through July 22, 2010, and will leave Libra on Oct. 2012.

These two big earthquakes both happened in the month of January so one might hone down a worrisome time for January, 2011. There will be a set of 3 Eclipses in a row during the month before that and it's difficult to know whether this will make the land more tense or ease some of the earth tension. Pluto will be in conjunction with the North Node at that point as well which indicates crisis.

I suspect that it might be a very difficult period politically and socially for people. Sometimes the Earth seems to back off when humanity is in upheaval. There is some talk of California possibly splitting in half politically, North and South, as it becomes more populated. This might be the big event. Trying to predict a Uranian event is just a wild goose chase and as Michael Lutin say, you don't want to think of your worst fears in the wake of a Pluto transit because Pluto will deliver it to your doorstep (I've personally found this to be true). I did notice, however, that the earth is sensitive to these things as the Parkfield Earthquake Series made a point out of skipping its 1944 due date, obviously in obvservance of WWII. Quite thoughtful.

Often droughts will come before big earthquakes. Northern California seems to be okay in that regard. I'm not sure how Southern California is doing. They are always a bit parched.

It seems that this upcoming July 21-22 2009 Eclipse could set off something and any planet hitting a key point in that chart could activate some intense stuff. The Eclipses will be moving into the Cardinal Axis for a while in the signs of Cancer and Capricorn. The June 26, 2010 Lunar Eclipse contains a Grand Square in Cardinal Signs which is disturbing. Sun-Mercury in Cancer opposing Pluto-Moon Capricorn (along with Nodes) squaring Jupiter-Uranus in Aries opposing Saturn 29 Virgo.

Jupiter will next be in the Cardinal Sign of Cancer from June 27, 2013 through July 17, 2014 roughly so this would be the next big opportunity. During that time Saturn will be in Scorpio, Uranus will be in Aries, Neptune will be in Pisces and Pluto will be in Capricorn. Part of the time the Nodal Axis will be in Scorpio. These are placements I would expect for a really big earthquake with a tsunami but I also think it would be a great transit for creating a new art movement so what do I know? At any rate in May-June 2014 Jupiter will oppose Pluto in Capricorn and square Uranus in Aries. There might be a Grand Water Trine of outer planets Jupiter in Cancer, Saturn in Scorpio and Neptune in Pisces. If you've got kids, start sticking a paintbrush in their hands now so they'll be prepared to create the Big Un, cause it looks exciting.

Mercury is prominent in Earthquake charts. I'm just going to note that here.

******

The two biggest earthquakes on the West Coast/California are:

Cascadia Earthquake / Date and time of this earthquake is speculative
Jan. 26. 1700 9:00 pm Epicenter off shore of Northern California/Oregon Coast

Sun 8 Aquarius; Moon Aries (maybe Taurus); ASC for 9:00 pm is 24 Virgo; N 15 Virgo; MC 23 Gemini

Fort Tejon Earthquake
Jan. 9, 1857 8:20 am; between Parkfield and Cholame, California

Sun 20 Capricorn; Moon 11 Cancer; ASC 8 Aquarius; MC 27 Scorpio; NN 10 Aries

Both Earthquakes in month of January

Earthquakes happened 157 years apart.

The Cascadia Earthquake is thought to be part of a 500 year cycle of big Earthquakes on the Cascadia Fault line. 500 years is a big planetary return for all the planets according to a pamphlet I read a while ago. This is usually thought of as the Neptune-Pluto Return cycle but according to a pamphlet I read a while ago there is a 500 year cycle where all the planets return to the same spot at the same time (not in conjunction, of course). The article said that Mars' cycle is actually the one that keeps everyone else waiting. I like that ... a little inner planetary power.

The Fort Tejon Earthquake is related to the Parkfield Earthquakes which have had a 6.0 or bigger quake averaging every 21-22 years. Is on the San Andreas Fault Line. I talked about how this series seems strongly related to Jupiter and Saturn cycles and Solar Arc progressions.

If there's a cycle somehow linking these big earthquakes together then we're coming due: They happened 157 years apart and 157 years from the last one adds up to having another one around 2014. 157 years is closest to the Neptunian Cycle which is about 165 years. In 1700 Neptune was at 3 Aries. In 1857 Neptune was at 19 Pisces. 157 years from 1857 is 2014 when Neptune will be between 4 Pisces and 6 Pisces.

Both Earthquakes happened while many planets were in Cardinal Signs (mostly in early degrees):
  • 1700: Neptune 4 Aries (H1); Uranus 8 Cancer (H10); Chiron 2 Libra (H1); MercuryRx-Jupiter 18-17 Capricorn (H4) (houses based on 9:00 pm time which is speculative.
  • 1857 Jupiter 3 Aries (H2); NN 10 Aries (H2); Moon-Saturn 11 Cancer (H5); Sun 20 Capricorn (H12)
Where was Aquarius/Uranus during quakes:
  • 1700: Aquarius not on angles of this chart (but, as I said, time is speculative). Sun 8 Aquarius opposing Pluto 11 Leo and squaring Mars 7 Scorpio gives a nice Uranian fix.
  • Uranus 8 Cancer is on an angle though (H10), time speculative on this chart. Uranus in Cancer in a Grand Trine with Saturn 2 Pisces and Mars 7 Scorpio
  • 1857: Aquarius Rising conjunct Mercury-Chiron squaring Pluto (H3)Uranus 22 Taurus conjunct Taurus IC squaring Mars 27 Aquarius/Venus 1 Pisces
Jupiter.
  • As with the entire Parkfield Series Jupiter is in Cardinal Signs in both of these Earthquakes.
  • 1700: Jupiter 17 Capricorn c. Mercury Rx 18 Capricorn trining NN 15 Virgo
  • 1857: Jupiter 3 Aries conjunct NN 10 Aries. Sextiles Mercury/ASC 7-8 Aquarius and trines Moon/Saturn 11 Cancer.

Pluto.
  • Pluto is in Fixed Signs for both Earthquakes.
  • 1700: Pluto 11 Leo trining Neptune 4 Aries and in a t-square opposing Sun in Aquarius and square to apex Mars in Scorpio
  • 1857: Pluto 4 Taurus Rx trining Mercury/ASC and squaring Mars 27 Aquarius/Venus 1 Pisces
Mercury plays a big role seemingly in the 6.0 quakes which I'll discuss later. Here are Mercury's placements for these charts:
  • 1700: Merucry 18 Capricorn c. Jupiter 17 Cap trining NN 15 Virgo and ASC 24 Virgo (speculative)
  • 1857: Mercury 7 Aquarius conjunct 8 Aquarius ASC conjunct 5 Aquarius Chiron / sextiles Jupiter 2 Aries-NN 10 Aries (H2) / squares Pluto 4 Taurus (H3)
Mars: Progressed Mars for the 1700 quake is interesting to look at moving from one earthquake to the next. P.Mars went Rx sometime before 1800 and then moved forward again. It was close to conjunct its original spot in 1857. 1700: Mars 7 Scorpio, progressed Mars for 1700 earthquake was at 11 Scorpio in 1857. Progressed Mars has been passing over the Sun of the 1700 quake. If the times are correct for the charts then Mars is in a Thor's Hammer configuration with either the MC or the ASC in both charts which makes a lot of sense.

1700: Mars 7 Scorpio: apex of t-square to Sun 8 Aquairus opposing Pluto 11 Leo. Also in a Grand Trine with Saturn 2 Pisces trine Uranus 8 Cancer.

1857: Mars 27 Aquarius: conjunct Venus 1 Pisces. Apex t-square to 27 Scorpio MC opposing Urnaus 22 Taurus / sextiles Pluto 4 Taurus.

It's interesting to look at the progressions between the Earthquakes as perhaps explaining a sort of Shock Wave effect that's going on.

Aspects of planets in 2010 to 1700 quake:

In 1700 Prog.Mars will be at 14 Aquarius conjunt quake's Sun at 8 Aquarius.

Prog. ASC and Prog. Moon conjunct Sun Aquarius.

T. Jupiter conjunct Neptune 4 Aries

Prog. Sun 12 Cancer conjunct t. Saturn 11 Cancer conjunct event Uranus 8 Cancer. Progressed Mercury at 4 Cancer.

Solar Arcs are extremely revealing in the Parkfield Earthquake Series. They are pretty interesting to look at progressing from 1700 earthquake to 1857 earthquake to Earthquake I set for Apr, 2010 (the arcs show that this date may be a bit early)

1700 quake Arced to 1857 quake:

1857 SA Sun 12 Cancer c. 1700 Uranus 8 Cancer
1857 SA Saturn 6 Leo c. 1700 Pluto 11 Leo
1857 SA Neptune 7 Virgo c. NN 17 Virgo
1857 SA Moon 30 Virgo c. 1700 Chiron 2 Libra
1857 SA Pluto 14 Capricorn c. 1700 Jupiter 17 Capricorn-Mercury RX 18 Capricorn
1857 SA Mars 11 Aries c. 1700 Neptune 4 Aries

1700 quake Arced to Apr. 2010 (fictitious date):

SA Mars apex t-square 11 Virgo c. NN 16 Virgo / this square SA Sun 12 Sagittarius opposing Pluto 14 Gemini
SA Neptune 7 Aquarius c. 1700 Sun 8 Aquarius
SA Moon 30 Aquarius c. 1700 Venus 26 Aquarius-Saturn 2 Pisces
SA Uranus 12 Taurus squaring 1700 Sun 8 Aquarius

2013-14 looks like it might make things line up a bit better as far as Solar Arcs go. One can go on and on with this.

McDonald's Hamburger Has Its First Jupiter Return

Here's another incredible story I picked up from Kottke.org. A Nutritionist has written a blog post showing her 12 years old McDonald's Hamburger. It doesn't look a day over 3 seconds old.

http://bestwellnessconsultant.com/2008/09/23/1996-mcdonalds-hamburger-karen-hanrahan-best-of-mother-earth.aspx

12 years is slightly longer than a Jupiter Return. Wonder if the Burger is a Jupiter in Sagittarius Burger or a Jupiter in Capricorn Burger. I remember a Geriatics P.E. Instructor telling me that the Sadge's hold up really well. They have an amazing shelf life. Maybe there's the answer.

The Nutritionist has bought the Burger a 2008 Sibling. Doesn't look a day over 3 seconds as well. She assures us that this burger will look as good in 12 years as his older brother.

Baby's First Planetary Returns Via Art Class

Rita Young is an Art Teacher who has written a fascinating book called Teaching Art to Children the Marvegos Way. The book is fascinating not only because Young appears to be a very effective mentor for her little students but also because the way she explains the different stages of a child's creative development. And these stages correspond really well with the planetary cycles that children go through at the same ages. There's an especially an interesting sort of back and forth movement between Jupiter and Saturn Cycles.

In the book, explanations are given on how to teach kids at different ages. Young groups the kids by Age and encourages different approaches accordingly.

The first Age Group that Young teaches as a unit are Ages 4-1/2 to 7. She calls this the "Art Exploration" stage. Age 4 1/2 is an interesting age astrologically for a child as there is a whole slough of 1st time aspects. What Young says is what one would expect to hear about Moon, Ceres and Jupiter, especially. "Facilitating the art-making for this group involves encouragement, praise, and an "all's well" attitude." Interesting that around 4.5 years a child goes through the 1st Progressed Moon sextile, 1st Ceres Return (4.6 years), 1st Pallas Athene Return (4.61 years) and then 1st Nodal Square (4.8 years), and then 1st Saturn Sextile (4.8 years).

She says that art making at this age is about telling stories. Rather than illustrating the story, the child literally will create it while drawing or painting the picture. She says that kids at this age really don't have a sense of form, something which she says starts to show up around the time that amazingly corresponds with the first Saturn square, around Age 7 or 8. Young says that kids can show directions, a person facing you or to the side, and will enjoy counting things like legs and arms. She says that kids at this age are happiest when encouraged to play and take risks. Sounds like a lot of Mars influence as well. The Mars and Jupiter cycles sort of work together. By Age 4 a child has had 2 Mars Returns. The first Jupiter square occurs around Age 3 and the first Jupiter Return occurs around Age 4.Around this time all the asteroids in the Belt between them have their returns.

The Next Age Group described in the book is Age 7 to 11. This grouping starts around the time of the first big Saturn Aspect, the square and ends around the time of the first Jupiter Return. Young says that this age a child's art becomes more socialized and shows awareness of the outside world. It's just really interesting that when working together Jupiter and Saturn rule this process. Rita Young literally says that kids are "connecting who they are to their world." Their pictures develop realism as their observations become more accurate. They develop a sensitivity to shape and form and light and shadow. As they observe the outside world they can start to see how they are the same and or different. They develop their own style of mark making. At this age she stresses teaching a study of form and composition and also knowledge of media.

Saturn's influence is very strong here. Young says that it is most important to use Time to let kids at this age develop. The student needs encouragement to solve problems on his own time.

The last age group is Age 11 and Up. This is the Age of the 1st Jupiter Return. Young says that during this phase the best things to guide the kids with are learning to make decisions, i.e. developing own opinions about things. They must be helped to "define goals broadly." And they need to understand how to handle and make positive use of Accidents (accidents in art are often considered gateways to creativity, unlike most other academic studies). These are all Jupiter concepts! Jupiter equals Exploration! Young also says that through this age kids can create more happily when guided to understand Struggles and Plateaus in the creative process. This is sort of an understanding of using Saturn vibes with Jupiter vibes where "backsliding precedes leaps in growth." "All part of the process of making art and living life."

Excellent!!! This is probably not news to anyone who has kids but I don't so I'm totally blown away by this.

Big Bottom

Pear Shaped People Rejoice!

Diabetes Researchers have decided to let us know that people with Big Bottoms are less susceptible to Diabetes. Something about our Big Old You Know WhatsIts, the Area-formally-ruled-by-Jupiter, protects us, makes our Insulin work.

Kind of interesting that Venus and Jupiter rule Sugar. Venus rules the Kidneys so it's easy to see the Insulin Connection. Jupiter rules the Thighs and Buttocks region. It also rules things are Ever-Expanding.

Here's the article:

Playing Games

I'm not much into games, but it seems that as Jupiter and Pluto have moved from Sagittarius to Capricorn there is a big switch from interest in Poker to interest in Chess. The party, gambling aspects of Poker seem much more suited to Sagittarius. And the serious, long drawn out strategizing and planning seem much more suited to Capricorn.

Jupiter's Next Pass

I finally figured out what the Jupiter-Pluto conjunction is all about. Don't know if you've spent much time around Scorpio-Sagg people. I have. I was born to a bunch and I tend to flock to more bunches. Thing about these guys is that they like to be cool, they like restrained good taste with secretive societies and stuff. I used to work with a Scorpio-Sagittarius woman who complained that she had been raised in a family of tacky people who wore goofy faced reindeers on their sweatshirts at Christmas. It was instinctual for her to know this is ugly. And it's like that in my family. Always in good taste. Well, I come from a family of designers so it was excessive. Our tree was trimmed into special globe shapes that sort of looked space age. And I wasn't allowed to apply the tinsel because I got too excited by all that shiny stuff. What I'm saying here, is that that is what Jupiter-Pluto is all about. And that is why I'm so let down by all the tastefully restrained Christmas decorations this year.

But there is one consolation. I went into the Target last night and all the "Hello Kitty" stuff was marked way down. That's right! It's a boon for all us who never got over how cute "Hello Kitty" is. The stores obviously can't move it off their shelves this year. So, Rejoice World! Jupiter still loves you.

And if that's not your cup of tea. Here's news about Jupiter's next adventures. It looks like Jupiter's partying all the way around the outer planetary block on his 12 year trek around the zodiac. First he'll hit Neptune and Chiron together in Aquarius and sort of anesthetize us and then clobber us with an Aries Point t-square with Uranus, Saturn, Pluto.

In 2009, there will be 3 conjunctions of Jupiter, Neptune with Chiron at the end of Aquarius:
May 27, 2009 27 Aquarius
July 10, 2009 27 Aquarius
Dec. 21, 2009 25 Aquarius

For comparison sake, the last Jupiter-Neptune conjunction was Jan 9, 1997 at 28 Capricorn. Only one pass.

In 2010, there will be 3 conjunctions of Jupiter with Uranus at the beginning of Aries. This will be in a t-square opposite Saturn in Libra squared by Pluto in Capricorn.
June 8, 2010 1 Aries
Sept. 22, 2010 29 Pisces
Jan. 2, 2010 28 Pisces

For comparison sake, the last Jupiter-Uranus conjunction was on Feb. 16, 1997 at 5 Aquarius. Only one pass.

British National Child Development Study

Hope you grew up with a Jupiter in Scorpio. It turns out that Britain has been following the lives of Children with Jupiter Retrograde in Scorpio since 1958 through a very extensive survey called the British National Child Development Study. All children born in Scotland, England and Wales during a certain week in March have been followed their whole lives by a series of surveys that examined many sides of their lives: health, family, schooling, etc. The Children were interviewed themselves, their parents were interviewed, as were their teachers and others. England then started a second study 12 years later -- Jupiter-er-er-er-r.

Now, Sociologists and all kinds of Powers that Be use this information to determine how to "improve society." And, wouldn't you know, all the kids in both studies have Jupiter in Scorpio. So, if you have all the qualities of a Jupiter in Scorpio, I suppose your sociological needs will have been scrutinized by all sorts of well meaning sociologists and projected back onto you by ignorant psychologists who study this stuff like it's the gospel. No wonder all we can talk about is suicide in Children. (I've got Jupiter in Scorpio myself and I know that we are rather private, reserved but opinionated people. I can tell you that secretly we hate all researchers, think that Statistics are b-s- and truly prefer our privacy and anonymity. Plus we have sick senses of humor and will tell all kinds of crap to anyone who probes too much.) An initial smaller study was begun in 1946. That's another 12 year link and I thought Oh NO! but the study was performed on babies born in March so they have Jupiter in Libra. This first set of babies must have been a bunch of charmers. They're probably all Vegans and meditate a lot.

Here's a link to the 1946 study: http://www.nshd.mrc.ac.uk/data/data.htm

Here's a link to the 1958 study: http://www.esds.ac.uk/longitudinal/access/ncds/l33004.asp.

Here's a link to the 1970 study: oh, I'm too lazy to go back.

Astrological Interpretation here is ridiculous. I'm going to add some outer planet transits if significant just for interest. But, really, one can see how strange it is to read single charts when one considers that in just a couple of tiny countries on the planet more than 17,000 babies were born in one week.

In the most comprehensive and organized study, the one done in 1958, the Children were all born "in a certain week in March, 1958." I looked at that in horror because I don't know if the whole world should be judged according to how a couple of Pisces messed up their lives. I mean, I knew someone born in that month who was a kleptomaniac addict who slit her wrists... With some digging I found a site that says that the actual week was Mar.3-9, 1958. That sticks my kleptomaniac friend right in there. A compulsive but very pleasant liar, a born grifter. And she was American so if she was followed it was only by the FBI.

Here's the Raw Astro Data for the three studies along with Ages of Follow-Up Interviews (hope I've got at least some of the facts correct):

National Study of Health & Development
1946 Birth Cohort Study

Babies born Mar. 3-9, 1946 (used London, England)

Sun 12-18 Pisces; Moon Pisces-Gemini for the Week; Mercury 28 Pisces - 6 Aries; Venus 19-27 Pisces; Mars 15-16 Cancer; Jupiter 27 Libra; Saturn 19 Cancer; Uranus 14 Gemini; Neptune 8 Libra; Pluto 10 Leo; NN 28 Gemini; Chiron 21 Libra

These guys were born with a trine between Uranus in Gemini and Neptune-Chiron in Libra. The charts are also notable for a conjunction of Mars-Saturn in Cancer that squares Neptune-Chiron-Jupiter (all retrograde) in Libra. Jupiter trines their North Nodes in Gemini, so maybe that's how the Brits got the idea to study groups every 12 years / Jupiter Return...who knows.

Follow-Ups:

1947-50 - 2-4 years old
1951-61 - 6,7,8,9,10,11,13,15 years
1962-81 - 16, 19, 20, 22, 24, 26, 31 years
1982-2000 - 36, 43, 53,
47-54 years postal questionnaire to women only

National Child Development Study (NCSD) Mar. 2 - 9, 1958

Sun: 12-18 Pisces; Moon: Leo - Scorpio; Mercury: 12-23 Pisces; Venus 4-7 Aquarius; Mars 20-24 Capricorn; Jupiter: 2-1 Scorpio Rx; Saturn 25-26 Sagittarius; Uranus 9 Leo; Neptune: 5 Scorpio; Pluto 1 Virgo; NN 3 Scorpio; Chiron 20 Aquarius

These charts are dominated by a conjunction of Jupiter and Neptune to the Scorpio NN. All are Retrograde. That's perfect a health research study but perhaps wasn't felt as comforting for the participants. This is squaring an opposition of Venus in Aquarius to Uranus in Leo. The study probably made them feel very special. The Ju-Ne-NN conjunction is in hard minor aspect (sesqui-quadrate?) to the Sun-Mercury in Pisces so these people are very sensitive and probably feel quite a bit of agitation. There is also a trine between Pluto and Saturn.

Follow-up Studies for 1958:

1965 - Age 7 // Saturn Square from Pisces, maybe c. natal Sun-Mercury
1969 - Age 11 // Progressed Suns at 29 Pisces about to go into Aries and opposing Pluto, Jupiter and Uranus. Waiting for Jupiter Return. This is about when my Kleptomaniac friend said she ran away from Catechism because the Nuns scared her.
1974 - Age 16 // Saturn Opposition.; T. Jupiter in Pisces maybe c. n.Sun.
1981 - Age 23 // Nodal Square c. n. Uranus, aspecting Uranus, Jupiter,Nodes, & Venus
1991 - Age 33 // Solar Return Sun repeats House Placement from Birth; past Saturn Return. Not heavily influenced by Uranus-Neptune-Saturn conjunction in Capricorn.
2000-1 - Ages 41-42 // Uranus & Neptune in Aquarius opposing n. Uranus and squaring others.
2004 - Age 46 // Nodal Opposition, Uranus in Pisces approaching conjunction with Sun.

Child's Health & Education Study
plus many other names as tossed from agency to agency. Lots of Taurus in this chart so guess that means the Budget was tighter for this one. Also called "Youthscan." I really like that for a bunch of little Aries.

All Children born Apr. 5-11, 1970 England, Scotland, Wales

Sun: 15-21 Aries; Moon: Pisces - Cancer; Mercury: 28 Aries - 9 Taurus (moved to Taurus 4/7); Venus: 2-10 Taurus; Mars 21-25 Taurus; Jupiter 4-3 Scorpio Rx; Saturn 2-10 Taurus; Uranus 7 Libra; Neptune 1 Sagittarius; Pluto 26 Virgo; NN 12 Pisces Rx; Chiron 7 Aries.

These Charts are dominated by the opposition between Saturn in Taurus and Jupiter in Scorpio. They are mostly Fire & Earth whereas the 1958 people were predominantly Water & Earth.

Follow-Up Studies for 1970:

1975 Age 5 // t.Pluto conjunct n. Uranus in Libra; t. Uranus c. N. Jupiter opp. N.Saturn; t.NN c. n. Neptune in Sagittarius
1980 Age 10 // big approaching transits: t. Uranus c.n.Neptune square t.NN-Jupiter; t.Saturn c. n. Pluto
1985 Age 15.5 but delayed // t.Pluto c. n. Jupiter opp t.NN c. n. Saturn; t.Jupiter c. n.NN
1991 Age 21 // t.Uranus-Neptune-NN in Capricorn square n.Sun
Apr-Sept, 1996 - Age 26 // t.Pluto c. n. Neptune trine t. Saturn in Aries
2000-1 - Age (This year coincided with 1958 study) // Past Saturn Return. Neptune and Uranus in Aquarius squaring n.Jupiter opp. n.Saturn.

Pete Wilson, In Memoriam

Pete Wilson, a well-known radio broadcaster in the Bay Area died after suffering a major heart attack during a hip replacement surgery at Stanford Medical Center on July 20 at 9:20pm, Palo Alto. Newspapers reported just after his death that his arteries had blockages of 70% and 100% which I suppose makes the Doctors look bad. Apparently they don't check 62 year old men for these things if they don't show symptoms.

The San Jose Mercury News published a weird little article today saying that Wilson was having such extreme anxiety attacks before the surgery that he had to be admitted to the emergency ward the night before. This is unbelievably dumb spin coming straight out of Stanford, but you never know. Of course, it made me curious out of my mind to look at his chart. I wanted to see the extremely good intuitive abilities that are going to be in his chart. But I also thought that maybe I could check to determine the cause: anxiety or blocked arteries (100%?) . Couldn't find his exact birth date, though. Just says that he was born on a small farm in Wisconsin in April, 1945.

This alone gives a lot of information already about his hips when compared with the current transits. Wilson's Saturn in Cancer would have been squaring his Neptune in Libra which could show chronic conditions with the bones (also emotional and psychic abilities). It would have been great if he could have postponed the surgery until after the current Saturn-Neptune opposition which echoed his natal aspect. (Well, and the 100% blocked arteries don't echo anything, hint hint).

Hips are ruled by Sagittarius and so by Jupiter. Wilson's Jupiter was Retrograde from 20-17 Virgo. This means that transiting Jupiter (11 Sagittarius) was maybe squaring his natal Jupiter. For some people "Jupiter" means liver, but I suppose in Wilson's case this might also be responsible for tension in his hip region, especially since Jupiter is currently squaring the Moon's Nodes. It's interesting that this was his 2d hip replacement, the first was done 12 years ago. That's a Jupiter Return! The square transit from Jupiter in its own sign really seems to have had an inflammatory effect on him.

My beloved San Jose Mercury News gave the time of the surgery, just like they do when they are being Good -- and they are sooooo Good. Hopefully I've got this straight. The surgery started at 11:00 am on July 19, 2007 and by 11:30am Wilson was having a Major Heart Attack. He was put on life support and died the next evening.

This surgery chart doesn't look good. The Moon (glands, instability in fluids) is in Virgo (nervousness, worry) conjunct the Ascendant and squaring Pluto (death, crisis) and the IC (end of life). Moon (emotions) had just opposed Uranus (nerves). At 11:30am, Moon had risen above the Ascendant into the 12th house and, still squaring Pluto-IC, was also squaring Mercury at the MC. Mercury was ruler of the surgery chart and in mutual reception with the Moon.

Neptune on the Descendant would show that the Doctors were maybe too empathetic with Wilson's fears, maybe took on some of it themselves, or the anaesthesiologist gave him too much of the good stuff in order to keep him happy.

I remember reading (I think from Bruce Scofield but I'm not sure, sorry, I think I linked to it in a very early blog about a set of pediatric heart transplant surgeries last summer) that it's important that planets aspect each other in a surgical chart so that the planets all flow and no single planet bottles up it's energies. I personally like this advice.. In this case, 2 planets plus Chiron are unaspected by ptolomaic aspect. Mercury, ruler of the chart, Jupiter, ruler of hips, and Chiron, woundings.

And then, of course, the sluggish Saturn-Neptune opposition didn't help. Saturn is in Leo (ruler of the heart) opposite Neptune in Aquarius (ruler of the electrical system). Over the past year, Wilson's arteries probably really took a beating due to his age (Saturn). The condition was difficult to detect (Neptune). And during the surgery, Mars (surgery) was squaring this opposition from the 8th house.

I send my Condolences to Pete Wilson's family and friends.

Dear Stanford, you're now working on the Pluto in Leo generation. Leo rules the Heart. Just make it routine to check their hearts from now on please. But when the Pluto in Virgo generation ends up on your tables, check the digestive tract, and give us lots of tranqui's because we really can worry ourselves to death.

Tuna Commits Suicide in Aquarium?

A Bluefin Tuna swam head first into the glass window at the Monterey Bay Aquarium in California late Sunday afternoon. It was found the next morning lying on the bottom of the tank, but security cameras caught it ramming into the glass at 5:34 pm the evening before. It weighed 229 pounds and was 5 1/2 feet long. Here's the story: http://www.mercurynews.com/ci_6449003?IADID=Search-www.mercurynews.com-www.mercurynews.com&nclick_check=1.

For basic information, Aquariums are ruled by Pisces, Neptune and the Moon, according to Rex Bills. Windows are ruled Gemini, Mercury, Neptune.

This chart has 20 Sagittarius Rising so it is very similar to the other story I wrote about on July 13 "Bouncing Baby Girl..." about the Father in China who threw his baby daughter out a window. In that chart, ruler Jupiter, was conjunct the Ascendant. In this chart, Jupiter is in the 12th house of Fish and Aquariums. Jupiter is squaring the Pisces North Node in the 3d House. Neptune is in the 3d house also opposite Saturn and squared by Mars (Force). Gemini is on the Descendant with ruler, Mercury, in the 7th house.

Mars ruled the 4th house and was apex of a t-square so that explains swimming head first into the walls of one's "home."

I wanted to look at the chart to see if I could figure out if this was a mistake or intentional on the Fish's part. With Pluto conjunct the Ascendant and the Sun unaspected in the 8th House it would seem that Suicide is a strong possibility. With Jupiter on the Ascendant and Venus exactly conjunct the 9th House, I think this Big Fish just wanted to be set free.

Bouncing Baby Girl Survives Great Odds

On Wednesday, in China, a baby girl was tossed out an 8-story window by her inebriated Father. Her mother left them 2 months ago and the Father, tweeked out on tranquilizers and Tsing-Tao, was arguing with his Mother-In-Law about not being able to take care of the baby. The M-I-L reportedly handed the baby to the Father who then tossed her out the window: July 11, 2007, 4:30 pm (Wednesday), Jiangqiao Town, Shanghai, China. The Father's name is Yu Dongrui; he's 26 years old and he's now in jail. (Have you ever read that Raymond Carver story about the divorcing couple fighting over who's going to take the baby?).

Miracle of miracles! The little girl survived with only a broken leg! Some tree branches broke her fall and she managed to land on some soft dirt in a flower bed. It's like a fairy tale.

Here's the story: http://www.shanghaidaily.com/sp/article/2007/200707/20070713/article_323227.htm. What I want to point out Astro-wise is that the baby is said to be 10-months old. This means that she was probably born last September perhaps around the same time as Evelyn Frayre and Anna Nicole Smith's daughter Dannie Lynn. I wrote about their charts here: http://outthecometsass.blogspot.com/2007/06/evelyn-frayre.html. The fact that the trees and flowers and dirt saved this little girl's life sure do indicate an uncanny ability to survive in the world. I truly hope I don't hear another tragic story about a baby born in September, 2006 but as they all seem to survive, I can appreciate when Miracles unfold.

I'm having trouble locating the exact town so probably am not pulling up a correct chart. Either way, the Ascendant for 4:30pm is maybe between 7 - 16 degrees Sagittarius.

I suppose if I had to choose a sign that indicates "Bounce" it would be Sagittarius, ruled by Jupiter. This Event chart shows Jupiter right on the Sagittarius Ascendant. Pluto is also in the 1st house in Sagittarius. Jupiter on the Ascendant is opposite the Moon (Baby) in Gemini on the Descendant. Both are squaring the North Node in Pisces. This sets up for the drugged out environment and hysterical reactions. Moon in Gemini on the 7th House cusp, a Dual Sign on the relationship angle containing the planet that rules homelife and babies. What bigger indicator for a Divorce situation, especially with "I did it my way" Jupiter opposing from the Ascendant?

The Sun is in Cancer (Family) in the 8th house (Shared Resources/Burdens as well as Murder) and this disposits back to the Moon on the 7th house cusp. The IC and MC are both on the Aries and Libra Aries Points with no planets in either of the parental houses. Obviously this story has made International headlines which explains the Aries Points. Cardinal Signs just want to start over, whatever the cost. (Of course, if I'm using the wrong coordinates for the chart none of this applies anyway.)

I'm not sure what symbolizes defenestration as it's a subject that doesn't come up often. Rex Bills gives rulerships of "Windows" to (Neptune, Gemini) and interestingly enough Neptune is conjunct the 3d house cusp opposite Saturn and Venus in Leo. I suppose the Venus in Leo in the 9th House simply shows a courageous little girl with bounce. There's that Sagittarius influence again.

Of course, there is the Saturn-Neptune opposition which finally made it's last exact conjunction last month. The obvious Saturn-Neptune symbolism is "Drunk Daddy" which is shown very literally here. This is an aspect that either brings out your inner Mozart or your inner Trailer Park.

Hot Dog Eating Contest

Okay, this is a No-Brainer Astrology Question. If you're going to enter a Competition to see who can eat the most Hot Dogs in an Hour, which transit would you rather be going through? Saturn Return? Or Jupiter Return? Correct answer to follow.

Today in Coney Island, New York Joey Chestnut, from San Jose, California, beat out 6-time Champion from Japan, Takeru Kobayashi, by consuming 66 Hot Dogs in 12 minutes. Kobayashi, 29, is going through his Saturn Return right now and lost his Championship (alas, Saturn is in Leo) to Chestnut, 23. Chestnut is going through his Jupiter Return in Sagittarius. Kobayashi has recently been plagued by Saturnian ailments which could have affected his performance; he has had a Wisdom Tooth extracted and has had to see a Chiropractor for a Sore Jaw. He did, however, beat his old records by scarfing 63 hot dogs. The competition was simply too stiff. Is that Saturn talking or what? Time to move on to bigger challenges in life perhaps.

New Winner, Chestnut, has something like a Bundle shaped chart bounded by Moon and Neptune in a compulsive Quintile aspect so when he does something he does it all at once. Moon = Food and Consumption and Neptune dissolves boundaries so he can set his sights high with regards to how much. That food just vanished into his stomach. He's not even fat. Neptune is at 29 Sagittarius also raising the limit bar as the Jupiterian influence offers even bigger waistline expansion. After he finished he said he could easily eat another (http://news.yahoo.com/s/ap/20070704/ap_on_fe_st/weiner_wars_8). The veins were also bulging out the sides of his forehead. Transiting Pluto and his Progressed Sun are conjunct his natal Neptune right now which is simply Intense. Well, he might want to have his liver enzymes checked from time to time to see if it can keep up with his extreme level of optimism.

Neither guy has planets in Earth. Maybe that's the key. Here are their birth dates complements of Wikipedia:
