Yahoo article saying that psychics have never helped solve a crime like the abduction of Jaycee Dugard. In the article they actually quote a psychic who says that she told Jaycee's mother that she would see her daughter again. That's kind of weird reporting, isn't it? I mean, that was correct information. The Mother is seeing her daughter again after 18 years. I can't really criticize anyone else's lack of logic myself, but is this linear thinking, logic and all? (I've actually seen the psychic mentioned on stage and thought she was a phoney on stage, she was trying to do the fast talking psychic thing like John Edwards and James Praagh but can't talk fast enough).

Then the article then goes on, and I'm not kidding, says that the media messes things up by giving the psychics a voice. It says this after reporting that the psychic had given the mother correct information. And, then, the article goes even further into its own ka-ka by not reporting on how many detectives trust their "hunches" and "gut instincts" on solving crimes (Pluto). Columbus, after all, wouldn't have set sail to America if he hadn't had a hunch (and a good sales pitch). Too bad he didn't have a hunch about not spreading the clap.

After all, it was the two police persons (both women, I saw them on CNN) who felt that something was wrong with Abductor Garrido's situation and told the parole officer to look into it. Anderson Cooper asked the one police person how she "knew." She said it was partly "a mother's instinct."

So, there you go, Yahoo/LiveScience Know-It-Alls. Why don't you try reporting the bigger picture than your own belief system? We're finding out that all the goodies of the Enlightenment have created Global Warming so I think we need to learn to take a long view of things these days as well.

I'm not saying that most psychics (and astrologers) aren't big ego'd marketing freaks (they want to be able to buy medical insurance just like everyone else), but somewhere in here the smug scientists are going to be figuring out how all this works and you might as well report on that, because that raises our awareness to new levels. Confronting the things that man doesn't understand is how man has advanced so far, why insist that everyone stay in the cave grabbing at shadow figures?

And the article also says that these crimes are always solved either by the police or by accident. So, thank you police (Virgo, Pluto, Mars) and accidents (Uranus, Mars), for solving crime. Interesting how when you add the sign of Virgo to the planets that rule crimes, you come up with the factors needed to solve crime.

The Grunion Runs

I wonder if this year's crop of Grunion will be extra special in any way because of the trio of Eclipses that occurred in July and August. The Grunion show up on California beaches on the New and Full Moons.

They swim in on the high tides and are born about 10 days later when the high tide sweeps the babies away. Apparently, they even time their arrivals at night within a two-hour time slot.

It looks from the schedules that most Grunion are born between late March and late August, that's Aries to Virgo. So, the Grunion are born under the Sun Signs that belong below the Horizon on the Astrological Wheel. That means, according to Noel Tyl, that they never really get over their miserable childhoods. Certainly, they must be traumatized when people run around on the beach grabbing at them while they are in the middle of spawning.

I did a random test of the projected times that the Grunion land on shore. Seems they chose a time when the Sun is in the 5th house of Fun and Parties. Once the Sun drops down into the 4th House, they've done their deed and swim back out to sea. Yep, spawning and birthing, H5 and H4.

Abducted Girl Is Found After 18 Years

EDIT; Thanks to California Girl for letting me know that I was calling Jaycee by the wrong name (I was using Kaycee). Also, found a birth date for Phillip Garrido: 4/5/1951. Both Victim and Victimizer have Saturn in Virgo and are going through Saturn Returns... Garrido's Saturn is in later degrees so his is still approaching, but Jaycee's is within a couple of degrees. Thanks again to California Girl for the correction.

I've been fearing the Grand Square that is in effect right now. It includes a Mars opposition to Pluto in Capricorn that just sort of barely squares the opposition of Saturn to Uranus. But here is a good story. Actually it's a miraculous story. Guess it helps to have Jupiter in conjunction with Neptune in Aquarius for all kinds of Miracles. I've said before that Uranus is somehow responsible for Returns.

A 29-year old woman has been found after being abducted 18 years ago from a bus stop in front of her home in South Lake Tahoe (California or Nevada side? I don't know). The man who abducted her is a convicted Sex Offender and Rapist who was acting funny in front of the Berkeley Campus police. (Everyone in Berkeley acts funny so I don't know how the Police could tell that this guy was special but that's another story). He, the abductor, Phillip Garrido, was hauled into the police station along with a woman and two children and his brilliant parole officer somehow got him to confess to the true identity of Jaycee Lee Dugard. I'm not sure about the details. Garrido, Age 58, and his wife, Nancy, Age 54, have been arrested.

Since Jaycee Dugard was abducted when she was 11 years old I was curious to see if her 1st Jupiter Return was in effect. It was approaching by about 20 degrees.

Natal Jupiter is at 1 Virgo and transiting Jupiter was 11 Leo at the time of her abduction. Transiting Mars and Venus were both conjunct t. Jupiter in Leo as a matter of fact. This echoes her natal Mars-Jupiter conjunction with natal North Node at 26 Leo. Jupiter could possibly be significant for Jaycee because it probably disposes her Moon in Sagittarius (not sure of Moon placement but there's a good chance she has a Sagittarius Moon).

It's important to notice that the Nodal Axis was crossing the Asc/Desc line when Jaycee was abducted. Chiron-SN was conjunct the Ascendant and the Mars-Venus-Jupiter conjunction was in the first house and opposed by Saturn in the 7th. Since the signs involved are Cancer/Capricorn there is some huge issue with parenting and children involved in the whole abduction.

Uranus and Neptune were conjunct the Capricorn North Node and Descendant showing some sort of super elevated mood in the abductors. They've been holding this woman through almost the entire mutual reception of those two planets, didn't kill her, and have now confessed to having abducted her all those years ago. Things like this just don't happen in reality. Since Cancer and Capricorn represent both parents and conditional and unconditional love there may have been really strange and contorted lessons that they were trying to act out. Both husband and wife apparently were involved in the abduction as Jaycee's Father said he saw a man and a woman in the car that drove off with her. It appears that they have stayed together in all of this. Libra rules the IC of the event chart so perhaps the Marriage was the motivating factor.

So Jaycee has been relocated almost exactly at the time of her 1st Saturn Return. Natal Saturn is at 21 Virgo Rx in her natal chart and transiting Saturn is at 23 Virgo right now. Perhaps, the fact that Saturn passing over Jupiter right before her Saturn Return somehow relates to her luck.

This Jupiter Return and Saturn Return coincidences are very interesting because Jaycee was abducted during a Jupiter-Saturn opposition. These two planets literally crossed the 1st and 7th Houses of the event chart, which typically shows abductors and abductee.

It's interesting that Saturn placements for Jaycee's natal chart and "release" dates are highly afflicted. Natal Saturn in Virgo is apex to a t-square of Venus in Gemini opposing Neptune in Sagittarius. Her natal Moon is probably in Sagittarius as well and possibly involved in this t-square. Transiting Saturn in Virgo in involved in the Grand square aspect (wide orbs) that I mentioned earlier.

This is truly a wonderful Grand Square, in this case. Not only is it returning Jaycee with her family, but it is giving many more parents hope that their children are still alive. Guess the "Hope" Factor shows up strongly now as Uranus, ruler of Hopes and Wishes is opposing Saturn (along with the mutual reception placement with Neptune which is conjunct Chiron and lucky Jupiter).

The day that Jaycee was abducted, there was an opposition between Moon and Pluto right over her Sun-Chiron conjunction in Taurus, with Pluto opposing from Scorpio (19 degrees). Pluto here is in its own sign which rules Abductions. Uranus (Shock, Unexpected Events) is also in Scorpio in her chart as well.

Jaycee has a conjunction of Sun to Chiron in Taurus natally which is exact to the degree and is trining both natal Saturn and transiting Saturn. This projects her Vitality (Sun) and (Wounding and ability to Heal Others) out into the world.

I'm just going to add some notes about Jaycee's Venus placements here because they are very interesting.

Natal Venus is at 26 Gemini and is in strong major aspect to 3 outer planets which hooks her female charms, especially as a child (Mercury) into the outer world in some way. As I said Venus is squaring her natal Saturn and opposing her Natal Neptune. Venus is also inconjunct natal Uranus 24 Scorpio.

If anybody bothers to have read this far, I'll get a lot of flack for saying this, but Sagittarius is probably pretty common in the charts of child molesters and that's where Neptune is placed. And, as I said, Venus is opposing Neptune (oppositions = relationships).

Jaycee was held against her will the entire time that Pluto was passing through Sagittarius (and then some) and over her Natal Neptune (jail) and Moon. On the day that she was abducted, Jaycee's progressed Venus was on the Cancer Point at 1 degree. This is one of the points that is said to make bring a person's personality out into the public. Perhaps it is prominent in charts of children who are abducted as they "stand out" in public situations.

Jaycee's Progressed Venus went Rx by Progression around 2002. That would indicate that perhaps her abductor was losing interest in her. During the current year, 2009, progressed Venus is back at the AP spot where it was when she was abducted and has been joined by her Progressed Mercury.

The transiting Mars-Pluto opposition is aspecting this conjunction (progressed Mercury-Venus 1 Cancer). This hooks into the transiting Grand Square that I talked about earlier.

Sure wish I could look at her birth chart with a time and place. It would be a great chart for anybody to study in trying to understand child abductions. The birth dates for her Abductors will probably be available soon. I'd really like to take a look at the Parole Officer's chart (I believe it was the Antioch Police Station but am not sure) who figured out this whole mess, what a genius.

Traffic Congestion

An interview on NPR yesterday morning with a guy who wrote a whole book on Traffic. The guy says that the worst time for Traffic is at 1:00 pm on Saturdays. Where are his statistics from and what does he consider bad traffic, I don't know. But the Astrology here is interesting. In many locations the Sun will have just passed over the Midheaven and will be passing through the 9th House. 9th house rules long distance travel while the 3d house rules short distance travel.

The 3d House is the one you want to look at if you're concerned about anything that goes putt-putt. But, Jupiter and Sagittarius and the 9th House also rule travel and they work through expansion and the axes seem to often play a back and forth thing with each other when something they rule goes out of whack.

In a weird kind of way it makes sense that too many people would be wanting to get somewhere just after noon on Saturdays. Maybe it works best on a Week-end, and not at Rush Hour, because Jupiter also likes to come to the fore in order to have Fun. People are hung over, they've slept late, they are feeling optimistic about how much they can get done on the week-end. All Jupiter.

Jupiter's much more related to leisure than to work. That's why so many Lawyers, College Professors, Ministers and Popes go through so many years of schooling -- so that they don't have to scrub toilets.

Typical Work-Day traffic jams, going and coming from work happen probably while the Sun is in the Axis that squares the 3d-9th Houses. What I've always wondered is why the Traffic Jams happen in the afternoon starting at 4:00 pm when people don't get off work until 5:00 or 6:00 pm. Hmmmm...... What's the Astrology for making excuses and for dumping your work load on others?

Earthquake Resource, Freak Accident, and Raw Almonds

The San Jose Mercury News has a nice page on earthquakes. Don't have the sound turned up right now but it would be great if they added sounds of things crashing and falling off shelves when you click on the little symbols.

California pretty much always has little earthquakes so there seems to always be specks on these maps. During July the entire Pacific Ocean was rimmed by earthquakes all the way around the coasts of all the countries from Indonesia, Australia up to Japan, Alaska, and down to Baja, etc.

A good time to panic would be when the Sun rolls into Libra in September. The Sun hits the Saturn-Uranus opposition which is doing an off and on thing with Pluto and Mars around mid-September. Mars will be in Cancer in conjunction with the South Node. Have to get past this week's Grand Square. Some lady was impaled by a tree branch while driving on the freeway. The branch pierced her windshield and then went straight into her body. She was conscious and still trying to make phone calls for her job and then passed away later that night. (Accident: Aug. 21, 2009, 1:23(+ or-)pm, San Mateo, CA). Total freak accident. Or Act of God, however you like to look at it.

The event chart showed Sun conjunct the MC opposing Jupiter-Chiron-Neptune in Aquarius on the IC. Jupiter-Chiron-Neptune (Nature, the Wild Blue Yonder) had just moved into the 3d House with the North Node and Lilith. The Rulers of the 3d and 9th Houses, Saturn and Moon were in conjunction with Mercury (transportation) in the 10th House and opposing Uranus down in the 4th House. Aquarius (Shock, Unexpected Events) was intercepted in the 3d House of Transportation.

On another note, eat 6 raw almonds a day. Really. Raw almonds have a tiny bit of arsenic in them which might protect you in a homeopathic way from the Swine flu. My Aunt swore it cured her lymphoma. And apparently it was originally a cure given by Edgar Cayce. And the Mexican Homeopaths said they were getting good results by administering the homeopathic version of arsenic.

Also, sneeze into your elbows. And when you're out in public open doors with your non-dominant hand.

Back to School in the Silicon Valley

Wow, CNN isn't even mentioning this story, but yesterday a 17-year old boy went into a local high school near the Silicon Valley, California and started setting off bombs. Rich politically correct liberals always know how to suppress their own news. All talk; no walk -- or actually more accurate description in this area: no talk; pill the brat.

So, yesterday morning I was looking at the current transits, a Grand Square involving Mars, Saturn, Pluto and Uranus, and Sun opposing Jupiter-Chiron-Neptune in Pisces, and I was thinking, why isn't the world blowing up today? Well, I guess that Athens is burning down. That's as bad as it gets. And certain gun carrying jerks in New Hampshire and Arizona ought to spontaneously combust on their own and they are running around on all fours, free as birds. This morning I found a couple of local WOW stories in the papers so in a really sick way I am vindicated.

If the article I'm reading is correct, a kid named, get this, Alex Youshock, went to his old High School armed with 10 pipe bombs, a sword and a chainsaw. Two of the pipe bombs went off before one of the teachers jumped him and tackled him to the ground. Nobody was hurt, but, geez, that was ballsy of the teacher. That's a grand square of Mars-Saturn-Uranus and Pluto for you, especially since earthquake season in this area doesn't start until next month, I guess.

The Bases (i.e. Angles) are loaded in this chart with the Grand Square. As with all subject matter on the first day of school this is bonehead astrology. First of all, Mars is up in the 10th house in Gemini. Mars in Gemini? Kid blows up school, or tries to, nobody was injured and only two of the bombs actually went off. Mars is opposing Pluto down in the 4th House which is at the prominent Capricorn Point. That's mean and violent. Very bad timing to have these two opposing each other on the angles at opening bell. Freddie's back.

Meanwhile, Mercury and Saturn are in conjunction with the Virgo Ascendant from the 1st House (29 and 23 Virgo respectively). Uranus is opposing from the 7th House. With a last name like Youshock I suppose in this case the bomber is represented by Shock-Jock Uranus in the 7th House.

Mercury, ruler of lower education, rules both the Virgo Ascendant and the Gemini Midheaven. It is super strong right after 8 am because it is rising over the Ascendant. Mars in Gemini, Kid blows up School.

The Sun and Moon are also heavily afflicted in this chart. The Sun is at 2 Virgo opposing the Jupiter-Chiron-Neptune in Aquarius conjunction from the 12th-6th Houses.

The Moon (H2) is squaring Venus and the Nodal Axis (H11 and H5).

That's pretty crazy. Would be difficult to figure out a motive because it would look like there are multiple problems. Looks like there's a bad female influence here. With Pluto in H4, family secrets. Either way, with Virgo rising conjunct Saturn this boy can look forward to years and years of straight jackets, electro-shock and pills courtesy of the Dispensaries at Stanford.

Also in the paper is a report that the area had its 3d suicide of the year by a teenager. A 14 year old girl (Saturn opposition) walked onto the tracks in front of a commuter train. The pros are confirming that this is kind of like a localized epidemic. You thought the swine flu was bad, you should see how rich liberals treat their kids, more Virgo/Pisces.

I suppose that the Palo Alto area would suffer more than most when Pluto hits Capricorn, since the area is filled with repressed control freaks obsessed with their own career tracks. These kids would rather do anything than face getting a "B" in AP Chem.

(And nobody's reporting it, shame on you CNN).

Was Pat Tillman's Death an Accident?

Recently I've been really curious to figure out if Pat Tillman's death was really an accident, a case of mistaken identity and "friendly fire" when he was killed while on duty in Afghanistan in 2004. The Military did everything it could to cover something up and to erase all traces of evidence surrounding the incident. They burned his suit, lied to his family, confiscated his diary.

Tillman had a strongly Scorpio chart with 5 planets conjunct the North Node in that sign, and, as an old teacher of mine said, "One thing about Scorpio is certain, they don't have to lead boring lives." At any rate, Scorpio is the most persistent sign, and of all the planets, Scorpio's ruler Pluto is most likely to continue speaking from the grave in order to seek Justice, or even to seek answers. With Mercury conjunct Uranus, the Sun, Mars and the North Node, I suspect that Tillman won't rest until the truth is told.

Justice? well, Justice isn't always available for situations that occur when t.Neptune is squaring the Nodes and the Sun.

So, at any rate, I'm looking at the charts. A long time ago I looked at Tillman's chart and at that point I remember seeing some sort of Chironic influence working for Tillman at the time. Have noticed before that Chiron seems to be involved when wrongs are committed against the innocent but that's only a guess of mine. If I'm using a close enough time for the event of Pat Tillman's death, Chiron would have been in the 3d house, sort of interesting considering that the word "fratricide" is the word used by Tillman's family for the reason that they suspect his death was covered up.

The comparison charts hook up very strongly along the Taurus/Scorpio pole. I will try to look mainly at the event chart to see if it can describe whether or not this was an accident or intentional.

Rex Bills says that in Astrology Accidents are ruled by Mars and Uranus. Mistakes are ruled by Uranus with Pluto, which is Mars' higher octave.

When looking for a mistake one would expect to see these planets in hard aspect with each other which they are not doing directly in this chart. However, Pluto and Uranus rule two angles, the 1st House and 4th House of the Event Chart, so their presences are signifant in describing the root of the situation (Uranus) and people involved.

A whole lot of Tillman's natal chart is layered over the Ascendant/Descendant Axis of the event chart. His Nodal Axis, describing situations surrounding Destiny, was in opposition to itself, which would have indicated that he would have been pulled into an intense encounter surrounding his Fate at that time. It also would have indicated a time of confusion for him related to his destiny. Both the natal and transiting Nodal Axis was in the sign of Taurus and Scorpio which Komilla Sutton has said is the most complex and difficult of the Nodal Axes to live out. With Scorpio North Node, Tillman would have been getting sucked into deeper and deeper crises while being pulled through life. Scorpio is tenacious and focused and often offends and then wants revenge. Interesting that Tillman's South Node (path that one is pulling away from) is in Taurus, the sign of money. Tillman gave up a lucrative sports career in order to defend his country, and then was apparently began to fight the corporate (Pluto) mind of what the Government was actually doing in fighting these wars.

As Tillman's Sun-Mercury-Uranus-Mars stellium is conjunct his North Node he is shown strongly in the Ascendant of the Event Chart. Supposedly he was shot in the head 3 times from within a very short distance. That's directly expressed by the fact that his natal Mars was passing over the Ascendant because both Mars and the Ascendant are related to Aries, the sign that rules the Head. (It's a little confusing but I believe that the coroner suspected Murder in his case, something which the military denies.)

Mars is out of orb for conjunction with Uranus but the two are connected through the stellium. And both planets are in the sign of Scorpio which is ruled by Pluto. So the obvious rulers of "Mistakes" and "Accidents" -- Mars, Uranus and Pluto -- are shown in Tillman's natal chart and are passing over the Horizon at the time of his death.

Layered over this are both the Event Nodal Axis and Tillman's natal Axis. And in the sign of Taurus and Scorpio the problems won't be easy ones to solve. That's not good since Pluto rules Death and Pluto connected with Mars rules murder. With Uranus connected an Accident would be likely, or at least a sudden shocking event that no one was expecting.

Kind of weird that as a victim Tillman is represented by the Ascendant and not by the Descendant but I'm not all that great at understanding how to read event charts. And I always like to keep a lose interpretation of which end of an axis is playing itself out since they seem to always be playing a balancing act with each other.

Looking again at the event chart, we notice that the chart ruler is Pluto (Death, Sex, Taxes). Pluto is placed in the 2d House at 23 Sagittarius and it is conjunct Tillman's natal Venus at 21 Sagittarius. It is also opposing a conjunction of t.Venus and Mars and Lilith in the 8th House (event chart). Death and Murder. Mars-Pluto contacts are often related to murder and rage. So are Venus-Pluto contacts, also involved in deep resentments. (Lilith was there as well which is never a good sign, in mythology Lilith killed her own children to get back at her husband, or some story like that). The Gemini Moon was just passing out of the 8th House and into the 7th House and was still within conjunction of the 8th House cusp. The Moon adds to the rage aspect.

3 of these elements directly rule "women" so I'm really confused by the chart. Was a woman involved? 8th house rules Secrets as well. Moon can rule "The Public". Venus can rule "Diplomatic Relationships" "Envy". And Mars rules "Military." And Lilith just sort of adds an element of "Whack out" to whatever it touches.

Also sort of interesting is trying to figure out whether the death was a case of Mistaken Identity or "Fratricide." Gemini rules the 8th House of Death and Motives and literally rules Fraternity through its sign description. Also, Tillman's natal Mercury and Sun are in conjunction to the degree and conjuct the Ascendant. Saturn rules the 3d house cusp (event chart) and Chiron (wounded healer-teacher) is placed in that house.

Interesting how Taurus/Venus/2d House rule possessions and Tillman's armor and possessions (such as his diary) were burned almost immediately after his death which is really, really weird (and totally damning, imo, there's really no need to waste time on the astrology).

Messing things up more is Neptune. Neptune is the smoke screen of the zodiac and makes everything unclear. And Neptune is conjunct the IC in the event chart and squaring the Nodal Axes/ASC-DESC axis and the Sun and all the Sun's buddies. The IC or 4th House cusp rules the end of life. Neptune would rule cover-ups.

The IC can literally just plain old rule the environment describing the event and there may have been low and unclear visibility. Mistaken identity? Perhaps nobody really saw, or wanted to see, what happened. Neptune rules denial.

Interesting that Tillman's Saturn in Leo is opposing this transiting Neptune. Saturn in Leo is an excellent indicator of the military as Saturn rules Authority and Government and Leo rules Generals and Leaders. Considering that his natal Sun in Scorpio square to Saturn in Leo was placed directly over the Ascendant and Midheaven, Tillman, may have behaved in an overly commanding way.

Interesting that Tillman was born with a major aspect trine aspect between Saturn and Neptune natally as well. This mirrors the way that his natal Saturn is opposed by t. Neptune and squared by the Nodal Axes in the event chart. I keep wondering if major events don't happen to a person when major outer planet aspects in the sky mirror major outer planet aspects in the natal chart.

So who's represented by the Taurus Descendant? That would indicate the guy holding the gun I suppose. Since he's on the Descendant this shows that he felt he was being approached and attacked. This brings in Venus once again. Tillman was going through a Venus opposition that was connected to a Mars-Pluto opposition. That reinforces his vulnerability to a violent act at the time.

Tillman's natal Venus is conjunct his n.Neptune and so trining his Saturn. This adds another tie into the Saturn-Neptune aspect which is probably key for understanding what's going on here.

And that's a problem because Saturn and Neptune working together is a sign of martyrdom. It's a great aspect for artists and philosophers but not for warriors.

So, this hasn't clarified anything. When I see strong Scorpio to Neptune squares I assume that someone is lying. Those two working together generally show a big lie and a big cover-up. I hope that eventually the real story may come out and someone is held accountable.

Hopefully it wouldn't cause more harm than good for the truth to be known. That's one of the selling points for why this kind of aspect exists.

The Right to Bare Your Big Fat Ass (and Arms)

Three times in the last week men have brought guns to events where President Obama was either due to speak or was in the middle of speaking.

At the event yesterday, Aug. 18, in Phoenix, Arizona, one guy strapped what looked like a bazooka gun over his shoulder. Nobody was arrested because of some law saying that they can bear arms in public.

Last week, Aug. 11, there were two incidents at an event where Obama gave a lecture on his health care plan in New Hampshire. A man was arrested for hanging out near the school where Obama was to make his presentation because he was carrying a loaded and unlicensed gun. A second man strapped a holstered gun to his leg at the same event and was not arrested.

This is unbelievably disrespectful and dangerous. It is the most unpatriotic, sadistic and evil thing happening on earth. The first man is Richard Terry Young, Age 62. The second man is William Kostric.

I'd like to say that this is Racist, nobody would do this to a White President, but the guy carrying the subatomic machine gun across his shoulder at the Arizona event looks like a black guy. (Maybe he's Secret Service? Does have the characteristic bullet shaped head, after all). He didn't give his name but the paper shows a picture. Weird, huh?

I'd like to say that this defies Astrology but it doesn't. Jupiter was also conjunct Chiron and Neptune when Little Boy was dropped on Hiroshima, Aug. 6, 1945.

There were only two Eclipses that Summer. We've had 3 this Summer so I suppose we're one-up'ing them. Good old Cancer Eclipses, all Hearth and Homey...

The Little Mermaid

As the Icebergs melt this summer at what Scientists say is an alarming rate, the Media is really digging into the bottom of the barrel to seek out fun stories of glitz and glamour to distract us from reality.

The Israelis are claiming that they are being visited by a Mermaid who wiggles her sorry tail up on shore at a beach resort called Kiryat Yam at Sunset and performs tricks for the tourists and then dashes out to sea again. The news story told about previous Mermaid sitings, even LiveScience is posting this one, and when I saw that one of them occurred in Scotland back in 1830 when a little boy is said to have killed a mermaid by throwing rocks at her I sort of got sucked into the story. I sort of remembered that the last Uranus-Neptune mutual reception was back at that time. And since the Scots don't lie (...), and they even made up a story about how she looked like a 3-year old girl and they buried her in a proper funeral, it was starting to sound real.

And so I thought, hey, maybe this is a magical Uranus-Neptune mutual reception thing. I'll believe it if everyone else does. (I also believe that the poles are about to shift because the water from the melting icebergs will knock the weight distribution on earth all paddy wacky. Silly me.)

Well, it turns out that back in 1830 when the evil little brat killed probably what was somebody's little girl, Uranus was in Aquarius but Neptune was in Capricorn. The mutual reception wasn't quite happening yet.

But, when P.T. "A Sucker's Born Every Minute" Barnum sold tickets to his "FeeJee Mermaid" exhibit back in 1842, which was proven to be a hoax ... that was when Uranus was in Pisces and Neptune was in Aquarius.

Treason and Traitors

For my research on Children of Divorce I'm curious about what the charts of Traitors look like. Kids growing up in Divorce are often accused of being traitors by parents who are trying to get information about the other parent. Don't know if the charts of political traitors are the same thing as child traitors (alleged traitors, of course). I assume that adults might have more of a choice in the matter, or at least they ought to think that they do.

Wikipedia defines a Traitor as a person who exhibits "disloyality to one's sovereign or nation" and if there's one thing for sure, parents going through divorce act more like nations at war than like loving parents. The kids are treated like possessions, or slaves, rather than objects of affection, pawns used for bartering for money and time over. Growth phases have to be silenced.

I looked at 3 charts of famous traitors/double agents, and noticed that out of the 3, 2 had natal Venus Rx. Didn't have to go far with a Wiki search to see if Astrologers think that Venus Rx is related to Traitors. Bernadette Brady has written a really great article connecting Venus Rx cycles with Political Betrayal. She even mentions that Benedict Arnold did his Switcharoo from U.S. to Englist loyalties during a Venus Rx. Good American that I am with lousy understanding of U.S. History Arnold's chart was the first that came to mind. Turns out he was born with natal Venus at 13 Capricorn Retrograde. Born with a Retrograde and jumping ship during a Retrograde.

Arnold also had a Gemini North Node. Gemini is a sign one would expect to be associated with betrayal and treason because of its dual action interests. Perhaps also Pisces and Sagittarius.

Out of the three charts, the ones with Venus Rx also had a Gemini North Node. Back in the 1960s and 70s a journalist for Time magazine had been guilty of spying for both the CIA and the Communist party of Vietnam. His name was Pham Xuan An. He confessed in the 1980s and just recently passed away in 2006.

Motive must be very important in determining a Traitor and I wonder if there isn't a slight distinction between what is a Traitor and what is a Spy. These two men were living in war zones so their loyalties were much more stressed. Libra is a very political sign. Double Agent Robert Hanssen who worked for both the FBI and for Russia for twenty years says that his main motive was money. His chart has a conjunction of Pluto to the North Node in Leo which indicates this. Also he would have been enticed by the excitement. Pluto definitely rules spies and greed and power hunger. It would be very good at treason, Benedict Arnold had a conjunction of Sun to Pluto and Mercury.

There would be a lot more to look at. All of these charts show a lot of charm, like Jupiter-Neptune-Uranus contacts and Fire, etc. And certainly 3 charts only gives enough information for making assumptions which aren't probably the best basis for accusation of such awful crimes. But, at any rate, that's today's blog.

MoveOn.Org just emailed a very well put together list of people's disagreements with President Obama's Healthcare plan. It includes 5 of the biggest lies that are spreading around, the source of the lies, and describes how the lies differ from what the Legislation actually is concerned about.

The Saturn-Uranus opposition in Virgo-Pisces is our big opportunity to make sure that people don't suffer undo hardship because of the huge Corporations that have been masquerading as the Healthcare field.

Don't know how much of this is due to my advancing age and how much is due to the rising cost of Insurance, but my Health care premium has doubled in the last 5 years. But, if I did have to go I would have trouble paying both the Insurance and the Medical Bill. The Pluto in Virgo generation doesn't have much of a bedside manner, but they do have a good idea of what works and what doesn't work in the large morass of legislation. The Pluto in Libras, brilliant knitters that they are, can't be trusted in situation called "work." And the Pluto in Scorpios ... oh my God, they just want to cut.

Top Five Health Care Reform Lies—and How to Fight Back

Lie #1: President Obama wants to euthanize your grandma!!!

The truth: These accusations—of "death panels" and forced euthanasia—are, of course, flatly untrue. As an article from the Associated Press puts it: "No 'death panel' in health care bill."⁴ What's the real deal? Reform legislation includes a provision, supported by the AARP, to offer senior citizens access to a professional medical counselor who will provide them with information on preparing a living will and other issues facing older Americans.⁵

Lie #2: Democrats are going to outlaw private insurance and force you into a government plan!!!

The truth: With reform, choices will increase, not decrease. Obama's reform plans will create a health insurance exchange, a one-stop shopping marketplace for affordable, high-quality insurance options.⁶ Included in the exchange is the public health insurance option—a nationwide plan with a broad network of providers—that will operate alongside private insurance companies, injecting competition into the market to drive quality up and costs down.⁷

If you're happy with your coverage and doctors, you can keep them.⁸ But the new public plan will expand choices to millions of businesses or individuals who choose to opt into it, including many who simply can't afford health care now.

Lie #3: President Obama wants to implement Soviet-style rationing!!!

The truth: Health care reform will expand access to high-quality health insurance, and give individuals, families, and businesses more choices for coverage. Right now, big corporations decide whether to give you coverage, what doctors you get to see, and whether a particular procedure or medicine is covered—that is rationed care. And a big part of reform is to stop that.

Health care reform will do away with some of the most nefarious aspects of this rationing: discrimination for pre-existing conditions, insurers that cancel coverage when you get sick, gender discrimination, and lifetime and yearly limits on coverage.⁹ And outside of that, as noted above, reform will increase insurance options, not force anyone into a rationed situation.

Lie #4: Obama is secretly plotting to cut senior citizens' Medicare benefits!!!

The truth: Health care reform plans will not reduce Medicare benefits.¹⁰ Reform includes savings from Medicare that are unrelated to patient care—in fact, the savings comes from cutting billions of dollars in overpayments to insurance companies and eliminating waste, fraud, and abuse.¹¹

Lie #5: Obama's health care plan will bankrupt America!!!

The truth: We need health care reform now in order to prevent bankruptcy—to control spiraling costs that affect individuals, families, small businesses, and the American economy.

Right now, we spend more than $2 trillion dollars a year on health care.¹² The average family premium is projected to rise to over $22,000 in the next decade¹³—and each year, nearly a million people face bankruptcy because of medical expenses.¹⁴ Reform, with an affordable, high-quality public option that can spur competition, is necessary to bring down skyrocketing costs. Also, President Obama's reform plans would be fully paid for over 10 years and not add a penny to the deficit.¹⁵

We're closer to real health care reform than we've ever been—and the next few weeks will decide whether it happens. We need to make sure the truth about health care reform is spread far and wide to combat right wing lies.

Newborn Waking Up for His Wake

Here's a little story of the Eclipses in Action.

A Baby born at a hospital in Paraquay was announced dead after Doctors couldn't find a pulse. The baby, a boy, weighed slightly more than a pound and was born 16 weeks premature. He was placed in a box and taken home for his Wake and Burial. His Mother was still at the hospital but his Father heard crying from the box. When checked the baby started to move his hands and cry more. The baby literally didn't bother to wake up until a few hours after his birth!

There's a video on the Internet which shows the death certificate. I'm not sure if the time given in considered a death time or a birth time but either way, if my bad eyesight is reading the blurry numbers correctly, the chart is pretty amazing. (http://news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/americas/8191023.stm)

Interesting to notice how much of this chart is in very late degrees of the signs indicated.

First off, the baby is a Leo Sun born on the 3d Eclipse of the Summer. His Sun is very strong in its own sign. It is further strengthened by the fact that it is a singleton planet in Fire.

The time that I've read on the video looks to me like 18:30. This puts the Moon at 25 Aquarius conjunct Neptune 26 Aquarius-Chiron 25 Aquarius-Jupiter 24 Aquarius. This is just passing over the Ascendant (29 Aquarius) and is in the 12th House! Either way this whole stellium is connected with the first house and Ascendant which shows conditions surrounding a baby's birth.

The sign of the Ascendant, Aquarius, indicates shock, surprise, hopes and wishes, and awakenings! Neptune shows deep sleep. Chiron shows "wounded healer." Jupiter shows "lucky son of a gun." Jupiter alone in the 12th House indicates an angel in the person's life. The Moon shows birth as well as indicating the Mother.

This stellium is squaring the baby's Midheaven in Scorpio. A square is a challenging aspect and the Midheaven is how others perceive a person. Scorpio rules the sign of death and mortuaries and difficult circumstances. Funny how early this stuff kicks in in life. It can also indicate Doctors. This baby may grow up to be a Doctor himself.

Barbara Brennan

Right now, I'm listening to a cassette of some lectures that Barbara Brennan gave back in the early 1990s. Brennan has been one of the leaders in the Intuitive Healing movement and it's always inspirational to listen to such inspiration and I'm in need of inspiration right now. When I'm listening to recordings in the car the speaker must compete not only for my undivided attention (impossible) but must also speak over the road noise. Fortunately my player goes into auto rewind mode and I have to let a single tape run a few times through before I can begin to even listen. In addition to that I self-profess that although I have from time to time been involved in a healing I have no natural ability for any kind of healing class as I'm a very jealous, resentful & bitter person (and justly so, the stories I could tell). At any rate, I'm no Barbara Brennan and will never hope to be. I still like to expose myself to these styles of existence because they are definitely among the best that the World has to offer. And, of course, I have the Gemini Rising and the 3d House Mercury so I'm perpetually curious about just about everything. And while listening to the tapes I was obsessively itching with that burning question, "What's her sign?" I forced myself to finish at least 2 tapes before looking it up. I knew that Uranus and Neptune would have to be prominent, those are the signs of a miracle worker, but I was detecting a Taurus tinge of something... (Uranus and Neptune right, Taurus ... well, maybe not).

Without a birth time it's impossible to know what Barbara Brennan is astrologically. The noontime chart for her birth date is so close to the Aquarius/Pisces cusp that it's impossible to say whether she's an Aquarius Sun or a Pisces Sun. If born in Wisconsin (I'm not sure of birth place) the Sun passed into Pisces between 7am and 8am!

And it's the same thing with her Moon! At noon her Moon is placed at 5 Pisces! She might have a new Moon in Aquarius. Or she might have a New Moon in Pisces. Or she might be an Aquarius Sun with Pisces Moon just like Dick Cheney. Wouldn't that be weird and a major reason to quit astrology!!!

Barbara Brennan

Sun Aquarius or Pisces; Moon Aquarius or Pisces; NN 13 Scorpio

Well, anyway. These two signs rule Intuitive abilities and Psychic Abilities so I suppose the chart is right on track either way.

The rulers of both signs are set off prominently in Brennan's natal chart as well. Neptune is unaspected at 23 Virgo, which gives great prominence into the combined areas of Psyche and Health. And Uranus is a singleton in the Fixed Sign, in Taurus, and conjunct Brennan's South Node in Taurus. Her North Node is in Scorpio, showing a destiny which wants to delve deep into the cosmic goo.

I read an interview with Brennan (and, sorry, lost the link) in which she describes that she had been working as a Physicist for NASA when in the early 70's two things led her into the woo-woo. The first was watching civil rights riots from a roof top in Washington DC. Talk about an out of body experience. The second was a car accident which led her to seek alternative forms of healing. (That will literally throw you out of your body). The riots and the car accident seemed very Uranus/Mars so I had to look at the progressions to see if these planets were connected with her transformation. And the findings were very interesting.

First off, transiting Pluto would have passed over her natal Neptune in Virgo a couple of years before, in the late 60s. So she may have been having an ego wipe out of some sort. These two are meant to create a great psychic awareness. They can, in Noel Tyl's apt terms, also bring an Ego Wipe Out. Basically most people won't "go there" unless there is some serious loosening up.

Secondly, she would have been just past her Saturn Return in Aries (there's some Mars action) in the early 70s. That's a time in life when one evaluates one's accomplishments and decides on the next course of action.

The progressions that come right after this are very powerful. Brennan's progressed Sun passed into Aries around 1970 and was squaring her progressed Mars in first degrees of Capricorn. This square stayed in effect all through the early 70s. So there's the Mars stuff: the riots, and the car accident. This square (challenge) happened on the Aries Points which indicates events that will lead to coming before the public.

Another relevant progression is Progressed Mercury which was slowly changing direction and turning Retrograde from 1971 to 1973. It was in the sign of Aries as well and it was conjunct Brennan's natal Saturn. Mercury literally rules cars. Saturn rules breaks. Saturn in Aries is not well placed. It combines Saturn with the energy of Mars, a combination which has been referred to as trying to drive with the brakes on. How interesting what a difficult Mercury, Mars, Saturn conbination can bring out of a Uranus and/or Neptunian type of person.

It's really interesting to observe that an Rx Mercury was taking place as Brennan's new career took off because normally this is considered to have a difficult effect on communications. She may have sort of gave up on the verbal, day to day stuff and found that it led to something bigger. Retrogrades can be very creative (or frustrating) and make a person rework and rethink things. On the other hand, she describes in that interview how she actually switched from studying Outer Space to Studying Inner Space. This transfer from Outer to Inner is perfectly described by a strong progression over the Aries Point where the end of the Astrological Wheel swings around to meet the Beginning. The Ouroboros is the ancient symbol for a healer as well!

So, just for fun, I also had to look at Brennan's chart to see what it's going to be doing for the 2012 thing. I just get really curious about these kinds of thing. I mean, if, like, you know ahead of time that the Space Ship is going to carry some of us off, you know it's going to have Barbara Brennan on it. I mean, she's practically Sigourney Weaver in that regard.

Will Barbara Brennan be ready for 2012? (tsk, tsk, stupid question). Will she fight the Alien? Will she save the cat?

Well, on 12/21/2012 we have transiting Sun at 1 Capricorn squaring t.Uranus at 5 Aries. This is layered on top of the same spot as where Brennan's progressed Sun-Mars square was when she began her life's work as a healer! Most of the rest of her chart is receiving a conjunction or opposition transit as well.

Today's Weather Report: Major Earthquake in Japan and Typhoon/Flooding in Taiwan

This is really bad. Right now I'm so expecting California to finally fall off into the ocean in a cataclysmic armageddon that when I hear disaster strike in other places I'm relieved. It's kind of like when I'm driving along and suddenly hear a bad sound coming from a car and I don't know if it's my car or one of the cars near me. And if I'm always so relieved if the sound is coming from the other car. And then I feel guilty and bad for the other driver. But, I'm still relieved for myself.

And with regards to California and the West Coast it's only a matter of time. Today the Moon/Uranus conjunction in Pisces really did a number on Asia. Japan had a major earthquake. So far, remarkably, there is very little damage. Amazing since the earthquake was between 6.9 and 7.1 and rattled very close to Tokyo. That happened at 7:55 pm Tokyo time. The angles in this chart are loaded. Moon-Uranus in House 1. Mars in H3 but conjunct the IC. Saturn in H7. Pluto in H10. Neptune rules this chart and is located in his own house 12 in conjunction with Jupiter and Chiron. Jupiter and Neptune are lucky when placed in that house so maybe this is why there is so little damage. Venus is in the 4th House and there are no planets in either the 2d or 8th Houses which might be indicators of catastrophe. The Sun 17 Leo is widely opposing this stellium from the 6th House. The epicenter was actually offshore.

Then China has been hit by a Typhoon. This wasnt' a surprise and China has unbelievable abilities to avert known dangers by evacuating huge quantities of people. I think I read that more than a million people were evacuated. Taiwan is flooding for the first time in 50 years.
Capricorn is rising in this chart at 7 degrees with Pluto 6 degrees away up at in the 12th House. The Midheaven is 19 Libra. The Moon/Uranus conjunction is in the 3d house of this chart and Jupiter-Chiron-Neptune are in the 2d house. I currently am using the time of 16:20 for landfall (820 GMT). The town of Beibi in Fujian was said to be one of the first hit but I can't pull it up on my program so am using Taiwan. The Aquarius stellium is in a Grand Trine with Mars in Gemini and the Libra Midheaven. I would always want a flood with a Grand Trine, but don't know if that's an official weather indicator. Either way, this one is in Air, not Water, so the Wind is to blame. It's too early to know what damage occurred. One child has been killed and many homes destroyed. I haven't organized myself enough to comment on China's earthquakes from last month. One earthquake in the Yunnan province damaged more than 100,000 homes. But, miraculously there were relatively few deaths. I send my condolences to those who lost someone.

I had a strange personal "psychic" experience as a result of researching this earthquake. I've always had memories that my last life was in China and that I was killed as a 5 year child because the Japanese bombed our house. Since I was very small I always remembered my "Mother" telling me to scoot under a table, then everything goes blank. My "Mother" was Chinese. The minute I looked at the photos of this last earthquake I felt that I had been there before. It turns out that the Japanese did bomb the Yunnan Province during the Sino-Japanese War. Kind of interesting fall-out for me from the Eclipses which fell heavily on my Sun and Moon. Nothing like a little Sun-Moon action to get one in touch with "Home Sweet Home."

I was just searching the news reports for Hurricanes in the U.S. which have been very light this year, supposedly due to the El Nino weather condition. With Moon conjunct Uranus in watery Pisces and Jupiter (does things big) conjunct Neptune (watery) conjunct Chiron I was sort of expecting much worse Weather. Especially with this series of 3 Eclipses. Earthquakes in California seem to like to happen between Eclipse sets. Did notice that Pluto was very close to conjunction with the Midheaven for the last Eclipse for both Japan and China.

Kind of strange to be writing this when it's only still early afternoon where I am. Woke up to a plumbing/sewer problem this morning but with Mars-Pluto-Venus in H4 that seems to always happen.

Donald Rumsfeld on Your Dance Card

This is another blog that's based on an interview I heard on NPR a few weeks ago. Can't remember the guy's name or his book, or even who interviewed him, it would have been between 11am and noon because that's usually when I'm in my car driving. ((((sorry))))) But, at any rate, the interview was about Donald Rumsfeld and how Donald Rumsfeld has gone through wild swings in popularity even within his own party and chums. He's certainly been on a decline in this area of life what with having been wildly misinformed about things like WMDs in Iraq and Torture in the prisons. Things just didn't go as planned for Don. The whole war just shouldn't have happened. Of course, the real Dick behind this mistake was the Big Dick, but I won't go there. I just wanted to see in this blog entry why Rumsfeld's popularity goes through roller coaster rides as indicated in his chart. For learning purposes. He does seem to have shown a bit of "oopsey" for how things careened out of control which is more than any of us can say for Cheney.

So, Pluto was passing over Rumsfeld's Ascendant as his popularity waned. That indicates a big crisis related to how he looks to others. But, according to the NPR interview this is a repeat performance through Rumsfeld's life.

So, with Sagittarius on the Ascendant we can see the Jupiter influence. Jupiter does things in a big way. It also tends to be very opinionated and that can distance people who don't agree with you.

Then we look at Rumsfeld's Sun in Cancer. That's emotional and reactive. Strong personal need for protection which will sometimes focus outward into the world around. And the Moon which rules Cancer rules the Public sentiment as well. Rumsfeld's Sun is located in his 7th House and is conjunct Pluto in that house. His Ego expression is strongly connected with the impressions of others which may bring about crises (through Pluto).

The Midheaven shows how others see you. It rules your reputation. This is certainly something that would affect popularity. Rumsfeld has a Libra Midheaven, great for Diplomacy and Government dealings. But, Uranus, planet of shock and sudden changes is opposing his MC from the sign of Aries. Right there would be enough to knock anyone around a bit with regards to these aspects of life. But, the Ruler of Rumsfeld's Midheaven is Venus, another planet tied to popularity which is prominently placed and heavily affliced in his chart.

Venus rules Popularity, though, maybe along with Uranus. And I was really curious to see if there were some kind of Retrograde Action going down with Rumsfeld's chart. There is. Rumsfeld's natal Venus is at 2 Cancer Retrograde in his natal chart. This is close to an Aries Point showing that his popularity comes before the public. It is placed on an angle. The Rx shows that there may be complications regarding anything having to do with areas in life that Venus rules, like women, relationships, open enemies, even values if the Taurus sense is used (don't know if that applies here).

Venus is also placed in the 7th House where it is relies on the behaviors of others. This does give talents for Diplomacy and an interest in Politics.

Moving along, we see that Rumsfeld's Venus is squaring his Moon which rules Public Opinion. A square is a hard aspect and indicates a Challenge between the two. This square is emphasized in Rumsfeld's chart because these two planets are in mutual reception with each other and are even caught in a triad loop with the Sun. Sun in Cancer disposits to Moon which disposits to Venus which disposits to Moon... it goes on and on.

The key for Rumsfeld to break this cycle, I suppose, would be to follow the path of his Nodal Axis. That's the key for all of us and good luck doing it.

Rumsfeld's NN is in Pisces. As Pisces rules veils and pink clouds and all the mysteries that don't present itself clearly to us in life I sort of suspect that it rules Terrorism. So Rumsfeld was perhaps abnormally attracted to dealing with Terrorists. He was on target with regards to performing public service and working within institutions. But he would have had to do it through Virgo means. The opposite end of the Pisces pole. Paying strict attention to details, being discerning about what is real and what is not, about how the basic systems work. If it doesn't look like a WMD, if it doesn't act like a WMD, if it doesn't talk like a WMD, then ... it's not going to be a friggin WMD, no matter how evil it is to its own people. Pulling down a Statue of the Leader and televising it to the World, very Neptunian. But, the point with the Nodal Axis is not necessarily to go overboard in expressing the North Node, it's in using the natural energies of the South Node to balance out its expression. At least, that's how I prefer to look at it.

Pittsburg Gym Shooter

We're in a new era of total fitness I guess. The Go for the Burn generation really is burning up. This last week-end a guy named George went into a gym and started pelting an aerobics class full of women with bullets. He murdered 3 and thankfully he managed to kill him self. If the afterlife exists they're all stuck with each other. The idea of that just makes me shudder.

Sodini's motive for the shooting is perhaps thought to have been to achieve ever-lasting internet fame through a blog that he wrote. He hadn't had sex since the 80s, couldn't get a date, and spent a lot of time admiring himself in the mirror and not understanding why women weren't falling all over themselves for his attention. So he daintily wrote about his frustrations in his blog. I read a couple of sentences and got bored.

Sorry, George. My blog sucks too.

I thought I'd look at Sodini's chart to understand the prototype for a classic bad date chart so that's why I'm giving it attention. Also it's a classic for seeing how Eclipses can drive a person loco. Pluto's transit would have to be bad. And Mars. And Uranus. And Saturn.

Sun 8 Libra; Moon Aquarius; NN 15 Virgo

With Sun and Moon in Air Sign, Sodini would perhaps not have been a real sensual guy but he also would have been extroverted. This isn't a loner combination and it is the basic brickwork that sets up the rest of his chart. (This is such a great chart for a creative person. Sordini should have gone into graphic design or fashion design.)

George probably liked to talk a lot to his love interests, Mercury, planet of communication, is also in an Air Sign, Libra. Libra, as ruler of marriage and one-on-one relationships, will either show an extra interest in others, or it can get stucking looking at itself in the mirror, through its vain side which can come out when frustrated. Either way, Libra yearns for relationship as its main ego expression. And as an early Libra Sun, Sodini's Sun was under extra tension from Pluto's transiting square to his Sun. Pluto's cravings make Libra's yearnings look like sandplay. And it sort of looks like Sordini's love life went blank right around the time that his progressed Sun moved into the sign of Scorpio way back when. Pluto/Scorpio rules Sexuality but it also rules Abstinence. This double whammy Scorpio aspect would have been difficult for anyone.

So, there are other elements in George's chart that shows that he would have had other needs that perhaps he couldn't naturally express through all this Sun-Moon Air as well.

For one, his Sun is apex of a t-square to an opposition of Mars in Cancer to Saturn in Capricorn. I seem to keep repeating this that although a Sun-Mars square doesnt' necessarily indicate a shooter, it seems to come up a lot in these shooting charts. I've talked a lot about hard Mars-Saturn aspects, about how difficult they can be for self-expression, like trying to jump a brick wall or trying to drive witht he brakes on. Mars rules a Man's sexual drive and Saturn sort of puts a damper on that energy. A Scorpio Sun native might enjoy the Challenge presented by this t-square aspect. A romantic, gentle Sun in Libra might prefer methods that flow a bit more easily and get really frustrated. Mars in Cancer is a very difficult aspect as it can show a volatility and infantile expression of feeling. Baby doesn't always get what Baby wants and then Baby explodes.

Pluto is doing one more nasty in this chart. Pluto here is in a wide conjunction with the North Node (Destiny) in Virgo. Virgo is perfectionist. Pluto rules Death, Murder, Fame, Deep Desire. There will be a need perhaps for crises to happen so that the individual can feel that his life is unfolding on a big enough and deep enough level of existence. I sort of suspect that the real motive for George was to not have to die alone as an ugly man. Instead he is caught in eternity with the 3 gorgeous women he died with -- no matter the means with which he had to bring this about, ah-hem.

To add to this Sodini has Venus in Scorpio conjunct Neptune in Scorpio. In a man's chart Venus is one of the indicators along with the moon of the types of women he's attracted to. In this case he would have been attracted to women who are probably not very intellectual or verbal. He probably also had an unrealistic overly idealized version of women and romantic relationships in general. In conjunction with Neptune there is a feeling of always being the Martyr, always giving and never receiving, or perhaps of being attracted to unobtainable women. This combination is trining natal Mars in Cancer so George may have found his ideal early on in life and simply couldn't match it. Perhaps a Miss Havisham complex? He may also have had some bad luck in dating women who were addicts.

Also, when George went into the gym and wasted a bunch of lives on Sunday, he was under the influence of the set of 3 Eclipses that happened this Summer. The last one was yesterday which perhaps hit his natal Moon in Aquarius. T.Venus was in conjunction with his natal Mars which set off his angry and controlling Sun-Mars-Saturn t-square. T.Mercury was conjunct his natal Pluto in Virgo distorting his thinking process, ideal for leaving a written blog which would give him his 15 minutes of fame in the world, after death.

Natally, Sodini had a trine of Jupiter in Sagittarus trine Uranus 5 Leo which shows that he was hooked into a feeling of sportsmanship and good physicality that is typical of his generation. So I suppose it makes sense that he "chose" to die with the ladies who were in their prime and looking good. This trine was under hard opposition from the Jupiter-Chiron-Neptune conjunction in Aquarius which was opposing his natal Uranus. The Moon was in Aquarius on the day of the murders. The Moon on this date was in Aquarius. This means that Sodini was having a monthly Lunar Return, obviously feeling extra emotional (Moon) stress from the build up to yesterday's Eclipse. In simple terms that means that this was a difficult Full Moon for George.

George really wanted to get a Date badly.

In George's Progressed Chart his P.Sun is in a square aspect to p.Uranus at 26-27 degrees Scorpio. This is a stressful aspect which could make an individual act in a way which is shocking. His inner planets have never gone through any Retrogrades. I sort of wonder if a difficult chart like this wouldn't benefit from such an astrological event as Progressions sort of scramble up the energy that they are hitting. Maybe adds a few problems to the personality but slows down the arrogance a bit.

I'm a little shaky on the time of the shooting. Remember the days when the News gave Who, What, When, Where? How? No matter, I'd screw it all up with typos anyway.

This puts the approaching Full Moon pretty much right over the Ascendant/Descendant Axis. Moon/NN rules Women. It is also Sordini's natal Moon Sign.

The Sun is in the 7th House of, get this, partners. Sordini's natal Sun is in the 8th House of Murder/Motives. Saturn (Bitterness) in the event chart is conjunct the 8th House cusp along with Sordini's North Node. Uranus is widely opposing this from the H2 cusp.

The Venus/Pluto opposition spans the H5-H11 axis. (Romance, Sports, Groups).

Mars is squaring Saturn from H4. This square is relating to the ASC/Moon through a Thor's Hammer figure.

Stage Dads - Mr. Jackson, Mr. Mozart, Mr. Beethoven

Since Michael Jackson's death, his Father, Joe, has increasingly become the butt of reporter's jokes so I'm starting to become curiouser and curioser to look at his chart. Years ago Jackson publicly denounced his Father and admitted that he had been beaten and abused as a child. Joe was written out of Michael Jackson's will and it turns out he has been separated from Jackson's Mom for a long time. He is granted interviews just so that people can confirm before their very eyes that he was as abusive as Michael said he was. Well, he's got natal Mercury in Leo which has just gone Retrograde by Progression so that's not going to be hard to do. It's to the point where I'm feeling a little sorry for the guy. His son never would have made it to icon status without his Father pushing him the way he did. (Yes, I'm aware that it's probably not worth it, but then again I'm not a big follower of pop musicians).

As "Classical Music Major" I'm aware of Stage Moms and Dads. At one of my recitals an old dinosaur walked in wearing ruffles and really bright red lipstick and her eyes were way too sparkly and my Virgo Older Brother shuddered under his breath "Now that's definitely someone's Mom." I used to play harp and when you play harp you get to see the best of the visionary parents in full regalia.

I know through music history class that Beethoven's Father was highly abusive and pulled his son out of bed in the middle of the night to practice. And Mozart's Father pushed his son way beyond what the current labor laws would allow and Mozart grew up to be a little squirley because of it. So I went overboard with this project and began to look at all three, or all six charts. (I hope that I've got all the information straight but can't promise anything as I can't work the store feature right now on my Astrology program.)

All three of these Dads produced child prodigies and all three would perhaps be considered child abusers for having done that in modern times at any rate. I suppose the big story regarding Stage Moms and daughters comes from the life of stripper Gypsy Rose Lee. That's good for another study.

Just happened to find an interesting coincidence in that both Beethoven and Mozart's Fathers shared the same birth date, November 14. That sort of explains a little right there. Scorpio works with other people's resources. It is also an extremely ambitious sign and very focused and also capable of extreme behaviors. Scorpio is also a selfish sign and can also suffer from resenting the success of those it nurtures and of wanting to undermine their success through underhanded jealousies.

First, Michael's Dad. What's going on with him? Joe Jackson is not a Scorpio, he's a Leo, but Pluto is conjunct his natal Mercury and the two are unaspected to other planets so they create a strong presence in the chart. I could see how this could lead to very cutting verbal abuse.

As a Leo Joe would have the natural instinct to show off and be flamboyant and unencumbered by self consciousness. He may not have understood that he wasn't the one who was up on stage when his sons were practicing and performing.

With Mars in Virgo he would have a highly critical and perfectionist personality. Mars is one of the indicators in a person's chart showing his children, especially his Sons. Joe's Starchild Michael was born a Virgo.

Michael was born on August 29, 1958 with the Sun at 6 Virgo conjunct Pluto at 3 Virgo. Father Joe Jackson's progressed Sun and Neptune were both in conjunction with t. Pluto so these two were stuck in what Noel Tyl calls an "Ego Wipeout" bond forever. This is a good example of the great positive and negative extremes of how Sun-Neptune-Pluto type of synastry plays out between parent and child, that's for sure.

In addition to that, Joe Jackson was going through both a Mars Return (Son) and his first Saturn Return (Father).

And, another interesting detail to note that comes up with both Beethoven and Mozart's Father's charts and relationships is the combination of Mars with Chiron. Chiron is the great teacher/healer who could pass on all kinds of incredible information but couldn't use it to fix his own wounds. In combination with Mars, Chiron possibly shows a connection of some sort with one's Son. Joe Jackson has these very widely in conjunction with each other in Taurus (sign that rules the voice and arts, interesting that it also rules the Number 5 - Jackson 5 - through Venus' Sun conjunction cycle). Both Beethoven's father had a natal square and Mozart's Father had a natal conjunction, both aspects in connection with strong points in their sons' charts.

I discussed in a blog long ago the interesting coincidence of Father-Sun progressed Sun to natal Sun in the signs of men in the President Bush family a long time ago. It certainly seems that there is some kind of power connection when this happens in a family. As I said, Joe Jackson's p.Sun was within 4 degrees of conjunction with his Son's natal Sun. Ludwig Beethoven was born when his Father was 30 years old and in the next Sun Sign over so he has this relationship with his Father as well: Father Johann's p. Sun was at 27 Sagittarius, 2 degrees past his Son's natal Sun.

Both Mozart and Beethoven Senior had very long conjunctions of personal planets to their natal Saturns which may be of significance in understanding the karmic gifts which they passed on to their children. Due to the retrograde in the progressions, both men would have been experiencing this unchanging stressor on their Saturns. This could explain their own frustrated ambitions, along with their extreme behaviors as Fathers.

As a matter of fact, this p.Sun to n.Natal synastry will happen between the charts of any Father and Son when the Father's natal Sun is roughly 30 degrees before the Son's natal Sun. There is a double whammy effect because the child will born during the Father's Saturn Return which happens roughly at one's 29th year. It does seem to be a strong formula for insuring that success and ambition are passed down from generation to generation. That would require a lot more study to confirm. And it certainly doesn't look like a happy inheritance to be gifted. I'm discussing more connections with Saturn down below. These men have Saturn very strongly aspected in relation with their sons, that's for sure.

Both Fathers (Mozart's and Beethoven's) had progressed Venus in Scorpio when their sons were born. P. Venus conjunct natal Saturn in one chart and conjunct natal Pluto in the other chart. I suppose this shows great ambitions through the arts and no doubt an ability to "psychically channel" huge amounts of cosmic knowledge.

He was 30 years old when Beethoven was born. Going through Saturn Return when his Son was born. And his Progressed Sun was conjunct his Son's natal Sun (and widely his Moon). This point was opposing natal Mars and squaring natal Chiron.

Something interesting that I've noticed in Father B. and Mozarts' Dad's charts as well is an interesting conjunction to natal Saturn from progressed Planets. Father B's Mars is conjunct his natal Saturn in his natal chart in the sign of Leo. Both planets had gone Retrograde by Progression so that they were still in conjunction when Beethoven was born (and Rx, difficult). His progressed Venus, meanwhile, was conjunct to the degree with his Pluto. He was to have a very intense relationship with this child regarding ambitions, will and the arts.

Father Leopold Mozart has a similar thing going on. Natally he has a conjunction of Venus to Saturn-Mercury-Sun in Scorpio (same spot as p.Venus-Pluto in Beethoven's Dad's chart, remember what I said about Scorpio). Venus in Leopold's chart is Retrograde when he is born. And so his progressed Venus has come out of Rx by the time his son is born and has returned to close to the same spot where it was when he was born.

These retrogrades make it look as if the Father's were reliving parts of themselves through their Sons. Both Saturn and Pluto/Scorpio are related to Karmic lessons and reliving problems. They are both very ambitious planets. In a sense, through their sons, these men were using twice the lifetime's worth of knowledge to get their sons to succeed in the world. (Sorry, that probably doesn't make sense).

Proportions and Design

Found an interesting article in an issue put out by Fine Woodworking Magazine called "How to Design Furniture." The same Golden Ratio of Proportions that is found in the perfect proportions in Nature and Art is also found in the distances between the Sun and the first five planets of the Solar System.

An old Art teacher I had once casually flipped through a book of drawings by Rembrandt and was able to show how these proportions could be found in most of Rembrandt's drawings. As someone who is encumbered by probably too much Uranian information, I can tell you that only a very few people can intuitively create these proportions, especially in such casual, non-measured drawings as Rembrant's. I remember there was a sketch on an elephant. Not only was the elephant placed within the composition according to the Golden Mean, but the elephant itself was drawn with perfect proportions. It's pretty incredible that man has found that perfect aesthetics are also probably related to creating objects of lasting, living value on earth. The article shows that the Great Pyramid of Gize is built within these proportions; the height of one of its sides is equal to 1.618 times the length of half its base. The Parthenon from Ancient Greece is also created according to these specs. The human body breaks down bit by bit into these proportions. The bone of each finger relates to the longer bone in this way, the bones of the arms do as well, the eyes divide the head and the navel divides the body.

Astrologers generally don't talk about what makes good design. Most astrologers have no design sense at all, me included, except that I come from a family of them.

So, basically, I don't know what rules the Design process. The magazine article quoted above has an interesting quote that says that the design process comes about not by Revolution but by Evolution. At first I was relieved to think that at least we can rule out Uranus which rules Revolution. Then I realized that Darwin was an Aquarius and he created the idea of Evolution. I'm continually finding that Aquarius and Uranus cycles are related to Evolution. And Aquarius ruled Innovation. So, that's all wrong.

Basically I think this is another concept like the idea of "Transformation." I've talked before about how I don't think that Pluto is responsible alone for Transformation, that it's the work of the whole wheel rotating. I tend to think the same of the Design Process.

Then I thought, what the hell, I can assign some words to different parts of the chart.

Signs above the Horizon, I associate with good taste which is necessary for creating good proportion.

Libra, of course, rules Good Proportion.

Signs below the Horizon I associate with all that it takes for Good Design. Again, my opinions here are exactly that and I'm not setting anything in stone here on this subject. Water Signs seem to provide the Motives for creation, Earth Signs seem to provide the ability to manifest reality, Air Signs provide the Intelligence, Fire Signs provide the Enthusiasm.

Cancer: Water, Innocence
Leo: Fire, Will, Playfulness
Virgo: Earth, Discernment (beginnings of good taste)

Something else I wonder is, if the Golden Mean only applies to the first 5 planets, then what kind of Proportions apply to the Outer Planets Jupiter, Saturn, Uranus, Neptune and Pluto and God knows what else is out there? Can these proportions even be perceived of by earthlings?
